2 European Games €19,000 and €13,750 fines, well done halfwits.
16 Oct 2024 17:27:10
But remember, they add atmosphere and colour, so we'll just put it down to a simple case of 'boys will be boys'! No real harm done, eh?!
16 Oct 2024 17:29:52
Can’t understand why the club bend over backwards for these halfwits when they constantly bring embarrassment.
I appreciate the “they create an atmosphere” argument but if they can’t work out a way of doing this without pyro or sectarian signing then they should be treated harshly.
16 Oct 2024 17:57:54
The idiots in that section should have their tickets increased to cover the fine. Suspect they aren’t the sharpest tool in the box, what made them think it was acceptable. They have already been called out due to the flares set off at other games.
16 Oct 2024 18:07:37
we are in agreement on this one. My issue with it is that the use of fireworks in football grounds is against the law. the club pay Police Scotland to police their stadiums and yet the ignore the fact that the law is being broken. at the moment there is no downside for those fans if they use fireworks other than proclamations such as this occasionally.
Let's be honest about this the fireworks are only used in one small part of the ground so could a principle of strict liability which UEFA use not be meted out on that part of the ground. not sure what that looks like but why should all fans suffer for the actions of a very small group.
16 Oct 2024 18:54:09
I think the club should spend (but ultimately save reputation and money) by paying for a couple of sniffer dogs to stop these idiots getting in with pyrotechnics. If detected stop and arrest them. This should definitely be doable.
16 Oct 2024 19:00:53
Happened to Servette after Chelsea game Angus, 43k fine and closure of ultra section for next European involvement.
16 Oct 2024 19:22:15
Gona end up with stadium closure or part of stadium closed. I would ban everyone of the neds.
Not one of them have a brain.
16 Oct 2024 19:45:39
And yet we’ve to welcome back 7500 Celtic fans with their hatred and bile, according to some, because it adds atmosphere to 2 games a season at Ibrox, Sunshine?
Also, considering many feel the club overcharged us for our 4 game Europa League package, the club can dip into that money and pay a measly £28,000.
And before plenty say we are skint - plenty on here didn’t want Rangers making £3 million in Australia.
16 Oct 2024 20:03:42
Hi Fork thanks and wasnt aware of the exact nature of the Servette penalty. However I didn't word my response particularly well. I meant that Rangers as a club could mete out the penalty before we get to UEFA doing it. so European bans for entire section if they do it during domestic games was along the lines I was thinking. we know who gets these tickets at both home and away games.
so we don't lose section of ground as the tickets would be sold to other fans.
However I like the sound of Bear's suggestion that we have sniffer dogs and catch them before they get in and if they do, Police arrest them. I would add we ban them for a period as well.
16 Oct 2024 20:06:03
I appreciate people have health concerns and it costs the club and I don’t agree with them either but to ban them would be catastrophic. Any one remember the game last season they weren't aloud in I could hear our players talking on the park. The whole move from the broomy to the Copland makes zero sense tho basically the exact same thing.
16 Oct 2024 20:07:13
Spot on Storm?.
16 Oct 2024 20:36:38
if we need any more warning Celtic been given a 1 match away fan ban suspended for 2 years. I can't imagine their fans will listen to that warning either though.
16 Oct 2024 21:14:48
As soon as they were moved to the Copland stand they believed they were untouchable. Strange also that they always seem to have a big percentage of away tickets.
16 Oct 2024 22:02:07
The club have pandered to the UB so there’s no point in the board complaining about fines.
16 Oct 2024 22:15:50
Do they create atmosphere though that bloody drum does my box in might be old though.
16 Oct 2024 21:59:25
Pubeless neds! Still to this day those little persons vandalise my business with spray paint. Union bears? Utter bs, get rid ASAP!
16 Oct 2024 22:52:19
MPH, we replaced the brass band of the blue order with wee trumpets. that's the gist of it.
16 Oct 2024 22:52:36
It may mitigate it Angus but UEFA are just as fed up with it as those affected by the pyro/ fireworks.
16 Oct 2024 22:59:49
I’m not in a position to say what fans and can’t do as I’m only at game month on average, I imagine they are trying to create that imitating atmosphere we see elsewhere in Europe like Poland, Serbia etc that we would all say is awesome. That fine is hefty however and is a massive pain the bum for the club.
16 Oct 2024 23:04:05
So that's OK, MPH to just allow them to incur fines and possible closure, So you charged us too much, right lads let's misbehave and get another fine, its only a measly amount, then what if your seat is unavailable because the children have been playing with fire, you ok with that, seems a bit daft imo. Oh and SS comments was sarcasm because it's wrong and illegal bud and you know it too.
16 Oct 2024 23:23:32
"Persons" BB ??.
17 Oct 2024 03:13:00
I will tell you why the club bend over backwards for them like it or not they are 90% of the atmosphere. Because they are always the first ones to start to singing they are the first ones to try and get the famous atmosphere going. If they ban them ibrox would be like a morgue. The club could ban them for a trial and see but I somehow know the atmosphere would be s##t without them. I would also like to say I don’t agree with everything they do but there is a reason why the club don’t ban them.
17 Oct 2024 06:33:45
MPH you are like a broken record on this subject and try to deflect away from it every time it was 1/ 100
You mentioned Celtic fans . Why do you try and defend this crap every time?
I also didn’t mind the OZ thing it was good money IMO.
What Celtic fans got to do with us in Europe and getting fined?
Also what about the bile those same fans you are defending spout every game?
17 Oct 2024 06:46:09
Not saying the UB should not be punished in some way but calling for bans is out of order, they bring a lot of benefit to the club with displays and atmosphere to the games, a lot of kids kept coming to games because they watched them instead of the garbage on the park in the lower leagues, nd will do so in future and let’s be honest Rangers fans have been getting into bother from day dot,
17 Oct 2024 07:17:53
Not condoning fireworks but they themselves put a hell of a lot more money into the club than most of us.
17 Oct 2024 08:18:23
you are right Storm. MPH let's just keep our own section of fans then with their hatred and bile. both sides have fans who are the same and this attempted deflection is why they have got away with it for so long. no-one is saying they can't sing although personally i'd rather they stop the sectarian crap about battles which were over 300 years ago. we are saying they can't use fireworks at the ground because they are illegal. The thing about people's health is to search for some element of human empathy they may have but I doubt we are able to dig deep enough to find any.
SamofOrange a catastrophe is something like a bridge collapsing and people being killed. a reduction in atmosphere is not a catastrophe. Enough of the hyperbole.
No-one is saying to ban them forever just if they refuse to ban the rules of the stadium; just like any other business would do if their customers, which is all they are, refused to adhere to the rules.
17 Oct 2024 09:55:30
For me it's the same old story, the game is televised with a multitude of cameras and the club have a full seating plan so know the name of everyone who sits everywhere. It wouldn't be hard to weed out any individual who committed a crime and it would soon stop.
Like the sniffer fog idea though.
17 Oct 2024 10:48:57
MPH classic whataboutery.
17 Oct 2024 12:03:50
MPH, you cannot defend the use of pyrotechnics, we have been fined and warned the next step is a section of the ground being closed which means a significant loss of revenue. Surely they can be good fans without the pyrotechnics and sectarian nonsense. Its 2024 and it sounds pathetic.
17 Oct 2024 12:53:51
I'm more than willing to say it openly, anyone using pyro or fireworks etc should be handed a lifetime ban from attending our games. They don't care about anyone else, I personally am asthmatic and the smoke from these things could literally kill me.
That's before you take into account the danger of clothes/ hair etc being set alight from these things which, as stated earlier, are illegal in football stadiums. So we need to set an example and lead the way. Ban pyro and sine die anyone caught with them.
17 Oct 2024 13:43:11
Nothing to do with atmosphere to welcome Celtic back, as far as I'm aware we are the only big Derby in world football with one set of fans why? It's what football is about travelling to other stadiums to support your team. We couldn't handle them winning at our house, so banned them, utterly embarrassing.
17 Oct 2024 16:12:03
If they can't abide by the stadium rules and the law prohibiting there use, then sorry they have to go, can't have fines and closure of sections that impact revenue, and dependent on sections closed, it may be anyone that suffers because they think they walk a different path.
17 Oct 2024 16:44:08
Boy blue, You are 100% right and I am not even sure it was the fans who would be the mai. reason for that. I think the board didn't like being beaten us seeing their fans and more probably their board lording it over them.
I remember the story where we won that cup semi final and the Celtic board were so upset with the actions of our board they went out and Got Brendan Rodgers 1st time around and spent a lot on players. so with can be as bad as the other bu it is time one took the moral high ground and let fans back in.
17 Oct 2024 18:26:16
Correct blue boy.
DTB i agree ban the lot. You can’t ban them because they put in a lot of money away and have a lie down they are costing us more money every time they do it.
17 Oct 2024 18:35:59
Fork we were also fined after both kiev games.
17 Oct 2024 19:12:10
Of course it was angus. It's the one thing that annoys me and that I Don't have an answer for when having a bit of back and forth with my Celtic supporting mates, it's just a sad situation.
17 Oct 2024 19:58:40
Aye John seen that, it's ludicrous mate, needs to stop, was just highlighting the most recent as per Gilligans statement bud??.
