Told last night rangers to receive significant 6 figure sum re add on for aribo 75 league appearance for Southampton
Once again good business as it did not have to be starts, apparently only two more add ons left.
1.) 16 Jan 2025 21:22:46
Good info John and nice we bonus for Rangers.
2.) 16 Jan 2025 21:29:11
Having a gd game the night, first half anyway.
3.) 16 Jan 2025 22:26:37
Ta wise John.
4.) 17 Jan 2025 04:12:18
It was reported at the time that we got offered a straight £10M or £7M with bonuses. If that's the case then I think it was a poor deal. Can't see us getting £3M in bonuses over the course of his contract.
5.) 17 Jan 2025 07:34:29
Why would we not accept 10m instead of 7m with 3m add ons. it adds up the same!
Nonsense!
6.) 17 Jan 2025 07:42:00
Zikos. With the latest add on we have received circa 2.3, next addon is when he appears in 100 league matches
The other one I agree with will unlikely happen get to a cup semi final, final.
7.) 17 Jan 2025 07:50:36
zikos. you don't know what the bonuses were for so you comment from a position of ignorance. I know I am the same but if one high 6 figure sum was for 75 times on the pitch and the others were as achievable then it might well be a good deal.
8.) 17 Jan 2025 10:54:45
So £9.3m for aribo so far John?
Seems a great deal to me.
9.) 17 Jan 2025 13:17:12
Yer maw, because the bonuses / add ons are not guaranteed.
10.) 17 Jan 2025 13:30:15
That's my understanding, we also have a sell on clause.
15 Jan 2025 15:38:47
Defo looking like Cameron has rejected rangers, nothing to di with salary it would appear.
1.) 15 Jan 2025 16:23:40
I want the lad to sign but if I was him seeing the chances other young players have had at rangers I'd be a bit cautious of signing aswell.
2.) 15 Jan 2025 16:34:34
Its because he saw Doig, Hickey and Ferguson all move to Italy whilst playing 1st team football for smaller teams. Also Ramsey getting move from Aberdeen to Liverpool. He probably thought why move to Rangers to sit on my arse. Rangers have Lawrence, Dowell, Hagi, Diomondie, Raskin, Cortes and Barron so he probably thought he would be warming the bench or worse playing with the B side, also probably saw how Hagi was treated and thought I'm not prepared for that pish.
I dinny blame him. Probably also saw his fellow scots and pals from under 21's Fraser, King, Devine, Lowry etc not getting a look in.
3.) 15 Jan 2025 16:37:01
Incorrect.
4.) 15 Jan 2025 16:39:13
Wrong again John.
5.) 15 Jan 2025 16:52:43
Cheers john I'd read last night a deal agreed. Has something changed.
6.) 15 Jan 2025 16:53:11
Peter are you saying the boy will sign.
7.) 15 Jan 2025 16:59:30
Why "wrong again john "?
8.) 15 Jan 2025 17:17:34
It's up to PC to give potential signings assurances of playing time and development plans, that's what negotiations are for. PC has also made it clear he wants the best young Scottish talent in the squad.
Ibrox. European football. Foundations of a new era in the clubs history. Obviously I'm biased but I think any young lad rejecting Rangers right now is making a mistake.
9.) 15 Jan 2025 17:28:57
Just stirring the ? parlane.
10.) 15 Jan 2025 17:30:29
Bench warming problem John.
11.) 15 Jan 2025 17:32:00
Good petera, so you update us, what's happening with Cameron,
Parlane I'm in this guys head, his sole contribution is to say I'm wrong, he contributes nothing else.
12.) 15 Jan 2025 17:33:38
One Walter as I've said b4 I don't know these players personally, I'm passing on a rumour.
13.) 15 Jan 2025 17:43:19
John is this your source telling you this?
14.) 15 Jan 2025 17:49:15
Possibly white horse, I still think he will join, we went through same re Barron.
15.) 15 Jan 2025 17:52:43
Signing a young Scottish player from another SPL club is not the same as developing our own players . Cameron has proved he can play in the SPL and would go straight into the squad, he would be ahead of the likes of Lawrence, Dowell and Matondo and competing with the others to play. Nobody gets a guaranteed start at an big club. Barron started until his form shaded, Jefte and Igamane are young players we signed and they both play regularly, if he signs he will feature . If he goes to Aberdeen maybe we should sign Mulligan who was outstanding against us and the other mob.
16.) 15 Jan 2025 17:58:13
Storm from inside rangers a source but not my main one.
17.) 15 Jan 2025 19:40:41
John have u or anyone else noticed when your getting a bit of stick or abuse about your info it's always from new name posters with not a lot of comments or posts to their names.
Next time any of our regulars are thinking about chucking the site or holding back on what they know yous should keel that in mind and look out for it.
It's Tim's coming on trying to sabotage the site and Ruin It for us.
18.) 15 Jan 2025 23:18:51
They stick out like a sore thumb.
10 Jan 2025 20:44:11
Told Mackenzie has rejected first offer from rangers on salary.
1.) 10 Jan 2025 21:57:47
He might want to know how his manager will be as well John, I reckon him and Cameron might hold us to ransom knowing they’ll need to impress the next manager. Big risk if your not part of his plans.
2.) 10 Jan 2025 22:10:52
Thank you for the updates, John.
We won't be able to offer low to Scottish players due to the complete farce that is Leon King's contact.
3.) 10 Jan 2025 22:55:29
Asathor, question mate, if many Epl's teams were interested in a young player from your club, would your club not give him a better contract?
4.) 10 Jan 2025 23:40:35
Barron is more than King, Mackenzie will be looking for similar to him.
5.) 10 Jan 2025 23:56:01
We would not break structure my star.
6.) 11 Jan 2025 00:24:34
Well your not getting top dollar if he signed for one of they clubs then.
7.) 11 Jan 2025 00:36:24
Do you know Barron is on more than 10k my star or are you assuming.
8.) 11 Jan 2025 01:33:05
Yes, Wishy does King earn 10k? Barron earns more than Kings 8k.
9.) 11 Jan 2025 04:11:40
Ffs there Mystar telling someone how to run their successful business ? brilliant.
10.) 11 Jan 2025 07:05:03
What these players need to realise is we’re bringing wage bill down so this season. They’re not compatible with team mates but next season they will be.
This is maybe the reason we’ve not yet brought in a CB.
11.) 11 Jan 2025 08:21:23
Coming from a guy who can’t even spell his own name.
12.) 11 Jan 2025 09:35:28
Obvious that they will not get top dollar, think he'll know that himself.
13.) 11 Jan 2025 09:41:49
All my sons that’s a good one ? it was a typo and I never changed it. Have you never made a typo? Yes you have.
14.) 11 Jan 2025 10:15:54
Oooft?.
15.) 11 Jan 2025 12:17:19
Are we likely to go back in John, far apart? And do you reckon if accepted this will be for now or wait till the summer to join the club?
16.) 11 Jan 2025 12:29:56
Asa yes we can, Mackenzie on 2k at present, allegedly offering 7.5k, in any language that’s a good pay rise. Unless he believes he will get more elsewhere
Baron also on 7.5 k, was on less than mckenzie at Aberdeen
Cameron at Dundee on less than 750 pounds at Dundee. I’m told rangers r talking in terms 7k for him.
09 Jan 2025 11:17:13
Ibrox4 me and who u guys picking up anything.
1.) 09 Jan 2025 11:43:49
Been passed on information that we're tracking James Wilson for the Summer from Hearts. Will have a year left on his deal at that point. Not my usual source so been unable to verify it. You hearing anything similar?
2.) 09 Jan 2025 11:48:57
A thought we would have had a CB in for tonight, looks like the board are looking for PC to fail to move him on … is the CEO in favour of keeping him John?
3.) 09 Jan 2025 11:58:49
Ooooo, a bit cryptic John? I'm full ready to get hyped about there being a potential signing immanent and that's what Patrick Stewart is waiting for before he gives us his transfer chat.
It's the hope that gets you!
4.) 09 Jan 2025 11:58:58
Slipper : why wait till he fails if they want rid of him they could sack him today?
5.) 09 Jan 2025 12:03:23
Slipper looking for him to fail, not got a clue what goes on in that head, yes give him another contract for failure ?.
6.) 09 Jan 2025 12:12:40
Let’s hope it’s not 3pm Friday announcement stating that Bailey Rice will get more bench and game time… ahem…
Hearing the PatStew press release / is tomorrow so as not to interfere with tonight’s match.
Anyone else slightly concerned about this? It’s an unusual strategy for the a CEO to hold court on transfers unless it’s a statement of no expected activity to take the heat off the gaffer.
7.) 09 Jan 2025 12:23:42
Wait for him to fail? What absolute nonsense. The team has improved even with his hands tied. He's getting a chance to finish the job. Two transfer windows yet. Waiting to fail? Would be gone by now as many believe 16 PTS behind Celtic is failure. Let him do his work.
8.) 09 Jan 2025 12:48:59
As asathor confirmed it is not unusual at all.
9.) 09 Jan 2025 12:50:41
StoneColdET may well be my ultimate hero, brilliant ?.
10.) 09 Jan 2025 13:17:16
Stone oldest, I think that will be the case. Seems pointless to make a statement around transfers the day before a league game, just piles more pressure on the manager if he is indeed stating no money will be spent.
11.) 09 Jan 2025 13:58:55
The young boy Wilson is a must. the boys brilliant and only 16.hearts may command a descent fee for him tho.
12.) 09 Jan 2025 14:41:34
He’ll have offers from down south guys we have nii on chance of getting him:
13.) 09 Jan 2025 17:27:03
Could the star trek fans let us know how we do in the future please?
14.) 09 Jan 2025 17:41:00
pity stevie g i always wanted a player at rangers with the same name as me, me being a good Kinninig park boy.
06 Jan 2025 14:10:14
I was having a discussion about igamane with a friend of a friend who knows kloppen, not a taxi driver
He was sayining if kloppen had stayed in Holland igamane would be at PSV. Also he was well aware of Cortez diomande nsiala .
He states igamane was no1 on what is known as Clemente red book off talent in 18-22 age group who could go all the way in the game.
He also said his list of 1-5 r all raw talent that we could bring to rangers all for around 1-2 million each.
He considers no2 and 4 are seen as similar prospects to nsiala and igamane
This has to be part of our strategy going forward, an igamane type prospect every year, alongside one or two top Scot's, with money only being spent on experience
By next summer I'm being told we will see a b team littered with non British players.
1.) 06 Jan 2025 14:37:05
Sorry that should be kloppen red book.
2.) 06 Jan 2025 14:42:11
John I am very confident Koppen brings us success, good Clement having his list because according to that keeper Clement can improve a player like no other he's worked under.
3.) 06 Jan 2025 14:48:07
ok but what does Koppen say about this lol.
and do we know any of the names of these players yet? hopefully a fews centre backs would be ideal.
4.) 06 Jan 2025 14:48:53
No L mate. Just Koppen ??. good info john, cheers.
5.) 06 Jan 2025 14:50:35
Cool John I just posted about it being Clement's lol.
6.) 06 Jan 2025 14:51:51
Hi John, Mr Koppen does indeed operate like that and i'm hearing people at the club think it’s a real positive.
Had also heard Koppen feels we can have more talent on less money in the b team if we operate with non British players in the team.
He and PSV done the same with Saibiri (Moroccan) .
Hopefully more to come from his contacts.
7.) 06 Jan 2025 14:56:16
Great wee bit of info John. Thanks for sharing:
Can I ask, what is your personal opinion on both Clements job so far and then kloppen so far?
Do u want both to stay?
8.) 06 Jan 2025 15:12:20
Interesting post John and makes sense. Combination of the current global economics of the game with Koppen/ Clement’s knowledge can work significantly in our favour.
9.) 06 Jan 2025 15:16:02
I'm not one bit surprised to hear that our B team will be littered with non British players and actually expected this would of already happened but it's the way forward as most foreign markets are way cheaper than ours and just look at the likes of Porto, Sporting, PSV etc they all sign these boys really young and end up selling them for fortunes later on.
We need the B team to be playing a certain way going forward so that by the time they are given a chance in the first team, they know what is expected of them in their roles etc.
10.) 06 jan 2025 15:34:00
it is very good info john, and something i really like the look of myself, and i’m just about happy to suffer the setbacks that come with a large scale rebuild, we are going to have great performances and slackness, we will have players from all over the world and some may not quite fancy the struggles in midwinter in scotland, but i like the sound of this so long as we don’t give up the fight fur honours here,
11.) 06 Jan 2025 15:38:15
Wee question for John, or anyone else ITK.
If Clement gets the tin tack does that mean Kloppen would automatically leave as well?
P. S. loving the info, John.
12.) 06 jan 2025 15:38:32
star, don’t get stuck up on what one player said once, you’ve mentioned this keeper many times, it doesn’t mean he is right or even really meant what he said, any player is going to be gushing about a firmer gaffer they liked, but i think clement whole ethos is about improvement in favour of instant success, now, we have a situation whereby we must win, now, that’s his big problem.
13.) 06 Jan 2025 15:41:26
bigbluejim, Ehl has told us this has already started.
Ehl, I really wish you'd reconsider mate, hopefully your still having a look, your info from inside the club was first class and many will feel the same as me.
14.) 06 Jan 2025 15:48:56
We've made good steps in our transfer business under Koppen, with Propper I think being the only clear miss (and that was a last minute stop-gap filler in my mind) . But it has been frustratingly slow, which I appreciate is not his fault, the club cannot spend beyond it's means. We're still really hamstrung by some of the singings made under previous regimes (eg Dessers, Lawrence, Matondo, Dowell, King (inflated contract beyond his worth) ) . I can only hope we can move these all on between now and summer and give Clement a clean slate to work from with more hungry young players.
While there may be more value bringing in foreign youth, we need to be smart enough to mix that with Scottish players so we can finally fill our European squad. While players like Porteous (mentioned in other recent posts) might not be clear starting 11 players, they can have a grit that doesn't come from English Championship also rans and we need more than 11 players to be successful.
15.) 06 Jan 2025 15:50:40
Couldn’t agree more my star, a really valued and insightful psoter.
16.) 06 Jan 2025 16:04:16
The success of Igamane might possibly attract investment or encourage further commitment from current board. Jefte was a great find too for the price.
17.) 06 Jan 2025 16:06:20
The recruitment has definitely improved in recent windows.
18.) 06 Jan 2025 16:12:04
Koppens been getting some stick but I'm sure he has a good track record, if we're signing prospects we can't do it with a new manager every year either.
19.) 06 Jan 2025 16:24:31
Good info John and very interesting on the way forward need to trust the process.
20.) 06 Jan 2025 16:54:39
I will try answer some of the questions, I do not believe if clement goes it’s automatic kloppen goes.
I consider this rebuilding and strategy goes much deeper than the first team and what we think will happen, if successful I think we will have a structUre that will stand us in great fettle for 20-30 years
Big blue, this process re how b team play and discussed by Ehl has started. We see the first shoots of this imo
Andy do you honestly expect kloppen to post his list for all to read and have many clubs after his targets.
Reality some will succeed som won’t and many May already be outwith our price range, however we seem to be developing a credible recruitment structure which takes time. This may be why clement appears confident he won’t be going anywhere soon
I do believe pc has lost a portion of the fan base and he has to regain their backing
Also Ehl do an old crabbit guy a favour please return same to ibrox 4 me who I had a fantastic chat with prior to cup final, these guys are the real deal.
21.) 06 Jan 2025 17:04:33
See when you consider igamane wasn't apparently fit for Scottish football when he came here and his first few cameos he looked like a deer caught in the headlights and constantly drofting out of position. A few months later to now scoring hat tricks and scoring against epl teams then you need to trust koppen and clement in what they are trying to achieve. If that results in much more income that is then regenerated back into the team and provides us with a sustainable business model I for one can put up with not winning the league this year.
Short term success costs a lot more money that we don't have and is purely that. Short term. We would have to pump millions into regenerating a new team every 2 to 3 years and I think we've all seen that's not sustainable as it brings in high wage earners with a proven track record that then results in the rest of the squad wanting similarly paid. It just didn't work.
On a side note has EHl stopped posting? I really enjoyed their posts.
22.) 06 Jan 2025 17:05:43
great info as always John. I add my plea to Ibrox 4 and EHL to return as I always enjoyed their posts and found them enlightening.
I think though John that every Rangers manager loses a part of the fan base as they are never everyone's cup of tea even when they are winning.
23.) 06 Jan 2025 17:07:35
Great info John and an incite into the clubs direction, couldn't agree more about EHL and Ibrox4me to hopefully return??Great posters. ?.
24.) 06 Jan 2025 17:14:49
Yo Jimbo your point re mixing foreign youth with Scottish is well made
Please note nationality has nothing to do with criteri
In relation to being eligible for European squads
It’s solely atime issue .
So we could have a Dutch kid Italian Moroccan player if we want who become home grown.
25.) 06 Jan 2025 17:18:17
Great information once again John thank you.
26.) 06 Jan 2025 17:28:08
Superb info John and there's superb very honest great info posters on here which i and i'm sure most appreciate very much ???I echo your words John because we all want these very in the know knowledgeable posters to stay and continue posting on this site so i would also like both Ibrox4Me and EHL to consider continuing posting on this wonderful site because quite simply this site is even better with you guys ???.
27.) 06 Jan 2025 18:04:16
I'd also like to see CopelandFront5 return.
28.) 06 Jan 2025 18:48:21
So on one hand we are going to fill the B team with foreign talent but then we are going to start buying Scottish talent from other clubs . That is a pretty muddled strategy.
Surely we should be wanting a mixture talent from home and abroad in the B team maybe with some foreign coaches at lower levels.
We should be asking why the talent we have, never seems to develop to its full potential. Could it be the lack of competitive football
I would ask where is this foreign talent in the B team going to play.
29.) 06 Jan 2025 19:04:45
Not at all wslgers, I'm actually seeing that as a great strategy, let other young Scottish players gets experience with others club and when good enough for our squad try and sign them.
30.) 06 Jan 2025 19:05:25
Great info as ever John, I'm a fan of this long term project, and can see lots of what they're trying to do, for me it can't just be win every game or your sacked. It takes time to reenergise a club in need.
31.) 06 Jan 2025 19:45:15
Think you are looking at it the wrong way wsl and it’s easy the young kids just haven’t got it to succeed at our club.
32.) 06 Jan 2025 19:54:12
Mark 44 totally agree re Copland 5.
33.) 06 Jan 2025 20:12:30
I’ve given my opinion on this strategy previously and by the looks of it everyone on here is behind it including me.
However, the one huge flaw is us, the fans. We are extremely impatient and after several poor results with a very young and inexperienced team we are screaming for the managers head.
I would much prefer that we take a step back to enjoy the position we find ourselves in now and hopefully in a few years lavish in the success it has bred.
John, great to hear your info mate. Always look forward to your posts and also hope the others mentioned reconsider and return to sharing their rumours.
34.) 06 Jan 2025 20:31:14
John, he definitely had genuine info. He broke the Clement story at least 4/ 5 days before it was confirmed. Sadly got some grief on here and didn't return. too many Good posters leaving.
35.) 07 Jan 2025 09:07:42
Agreed John that some of the foreign lads can count as home grown in time. Think that requires 3 years in our academy before the age of 21, which means bringing them in at 18 or younger. Presumably that will mean the hit/ success rate on signings of that age of player will be significantly worse than an established player (and no transfer is guaranteed to make it at the best of times) . It also brings challenges in getting kids to settle / complying with the rules over transfers of players of that age.
My own preference would be to concentrate more on developing the Scottish lads, and cherry picking those coming through at other clubs like Barron and the Dundee lad which can be done at economical fees if done right (Porteous could have been hot for £500k too for example) .
I appreciate the club might have grander plans, but it's hard to be long term in this game!
36.) 07 Jan 2025 12:42:34
So, we don`t ever have kids good enough to break through at our club but they will at other clubs so we cam sign / buy them?
There are good youngsters in Scotland then so why don`t we have a policy of signing the better ones and providing a path through to the first team rather than let then go to other Scottish clubs.
If we are going to " fill" the B team with foreign youngsters then we would be as well to do away with our own youth development because instead of being blocked at fist team level they will be blocked at B team level.
I don`t know how good Rice is but the difference between him and Mller was, Miller came out of Under 18s into the first team and Rice had nowhere to play because its harder to get into our first team and there is no organised football for over 18s.

13 Jan 2025 15:31:54
Storm hagi 6-1
Igamane 5-11.
1.) 13 Jan 2025 17:52:44
Are those tips for tomorrows horse racing at Newcastle?
2.) 13 Jan 2025 17:52:56
I checked it after I posted John Hagi 182 igamane 182 according to transfer market ? see even I get things wrong difference from a few on here am man enough to admit and just don't go don't the selective memory route and deny I said it.
3.) 13 Jan 2025 18:08:08
Cool, I looked at in on wiki storm.
4.) 13 Jan 2025 18:47:16
181 sorry igamane. I was shocked as hagi has never looked that tall to me, John. ?.
5.) 13 jan 2025 19:22:06
u absolutely sure about that.
6.) 13 Jan 2025 20:59:10
182m isn't 6ft 1 well under 6ft.
7.) 13 Jan 2025 21:30:16
1.82 m is 5.97 foot, so 0.03 of a foot short of 6ft, 1.85 m is just short of 6ft 1.
13 Jan 2025 13:34:21
Sorry lost the thread. Imo Tom lawrence has been a very poor signing for us. Signing on fee, plus one million a year for three seasons, played very few games
22/ 23. 9 games
23/ 24 32 games
24/ 25 15 games
Often a sub or substitute, in that time we have played in excess of 160 games.
He must not get a new contract.
1.) 13 Jan 2025 14:55:03
Agreed John 100% ?.
2.) 13 Jan 2025 15:30:19
When u see it in black n white then 100%, see why storm says chase him.
3.) 13 Jan 2025 15:31:27
Would be madness ??????.
4.) 13 Jan 2025 15:53:53
Couldn't agree more I'm amazed there are considerations to giving him a new contract given the output (or lack thereof) he's given us.
5.) 13 Jan 2025 15:57:55
25k a week, certainly not worth the money!
6.) 13 Jan 2025 16:00:34
Hopefully we may see someone with similar skills and goal threat - but less injury prone and younger - ie the new player profile that Ibrox has needed for last few decades??.
7.) 13 Jan 2025 16:07:04
I haven't hear any mention of him getting a new contract and press seem to be saying ti won't happen. Have I missed something on here? I did see H and H saying his deal was 3 years plus a 1 year option; is that it?
8.) 13 Jan 2025 16:10:32
He won't be offered a new deal based purely on age, wage and fitness concerns.
9.) 13 Jan 2025 17:47:21
Another player on paper that looked like he could do a job for us. Shooting from distance was a strength that no other player offered in our squad but this has been a disaster with injuries and another player who'll leave Ibrox a very rich man having contributed very little. I would be shocked to see him get a new contract.
10.) 13 Jan 2025 18:39:13
Something very badly wrong at the club if Lawrence gets a new contract.
11.) 13 Jan 2025 18:49:49
We should never had signed TL.
12.) 13 Jan 2025 19:57:56
Angus may post in response to a couple saying Lawrence has been a good signing for rangers.
I understand lawrence will sign a pre contract in England but milk us till his contract expires.
07 Jan 2025 10:02:05
Wonder where yesterday expert is who said I was flying a kite re porteous.
1.) 07 Jan 2025 10:11:05
What’s even better John is you should see the nuggets on follow follow who called you and this rumour out. Total heed the baws.
2.) 07 Jan 2025 10:12:20
John you told us before any media mate, some are only on here for having a go at others.
3.) 07 Jan 2025 10:16:58
Right dado, I don’t read follow follow, got to say I’d much rather we don’t sign porteous.
I was only reporting what I’d been told.
4.) 07 Jan 2025 10:23:17
Sorry I. issed this
Is their substance to it then John about Porteous coming to us
I Think he would be a very good addition to your defence he knows how to put in a tackle and not scared to get in and about it.
I'd take him even to help squad depth for our defence.
5.) 07 Jan 2025 10:34:06
Please god, hope not. He's been sent off 6 times in around 225 games, including the crunching challenge on Gundogan against the Germans. Questionable off field behaviour, he's a total ned who also hates Rangers. Just what we need.
6.) 07 Jan 2025 10:43:56
Was he caught urinating against a war memorial? If so, do we really want that type of person representing our club?
7.) 07 Jan 2025 10:51:45
I’d like to sign him as I think he’s what we need right now, we’re so weak it’s scary. I get we’re unlikely to build our defence around him but he could be a good squad player long term.
8.) 07 Jan 2025 10:55:26
Who was it john? Take no notice mate not worth it, just keep doing you ?.
9.) 07 Jan 2025 10:58:38
Personally I’m a bit torn regarding Porteous. As a player I feel he has certainly developed over the last 2 years or so. He seems to have calmed down a bit on the pitch, not as rash as he was in his younger days at Hibs (challenge on Gundogan aside) and overall I have been impressed by his performances for Scotland. Other pluses, he is Scottish and developed in Scotland so would help in terms of Euro squad, he knows how to head a ball (something we certainly seem to lack at both ends of the pitch and has scored 7 goals in around his last 70 games (1 in 10 as a CB ain’t bad and certainly something we are missing) . Yes he is sometimes over aggressive and a hot head but certainly seems to have improved on that side of his game since going to Watford.
In regards to him as a person… yes there are definitely a number of negatives, was very much a Ned when younger, did some very stupid and shameful things off the pitch, certainly put in some shocking challenges against some of our players.
However, he won’t be the only questionable player we have signed. Personally I detested (and still do) Ian Black, and also really didn’t like El Hadj Diouf as a person either. Also Tom Lawrence has done questionable things in the past too. So as I say, a bit torn ?.
10.) 07 Jan 2025 11:06:29
With the injures we have I can't say absolutely no to any CB we can get in. Loan or a swap for our dead weight. Not a fan of Porteous but if we can get him on a trade with little financial out going and a reduction on the wage bill I can't say no. All I know is we need reinforcements badly.
11.) 07 Jan 2025 11:18:56
A very good post gers 78, I can relate to most of it
Stig I posted that we had been rejected in an attempt to sign porteous by Watford
We offered dowell and 750 k.
12.) 07 Jan 2025 11:22:49
Are we definitely signing ryan porteous John to what you've been told mate ?.
13.) 07 Jan 2025 11:33:40
would be very dubious of signing a player who has stated to put it mildly not a rangers fan.
14.) 07 Jan 2025 11:36:38
5 red cards on 273 games I forgot about one for Scotland and 2 of red cards is against us.
He is definitely what we need right now.
Mark have you never peed anywhere you shouldn’t have? Am guessing everyone of us have.
Coops he isn’t saying we are definitely signing him but we did try.
It was on twitter also someone took a screen grab off it of here and posted it.
15.) 07 Jan 2025 11:44:09
Do you think Mo Johnstone was a Rangers fan alwaysager? ?.
16.) 07 Jan 2025 11:46:03
Fgs I’m not the ceo or recruiter at rangers. Walter.
17.) 07 Jan 2025 11:50:10
Ah right kl John
missed that one
wonder if we will go back in for him again ?.
18.) 07 Jan 2025 12:23:34
We signed Lawrence who allegedly left a crime scene where his teammate was lying injured but I'm against porteous because I don't think he's a good player.
19.) 07 Jan 2025 12:26:50
It would be a gamble, he is absolutely what we need as a defender at the moment and after getting over the shock at his call up to the Scotland team, I actually thought he was Scotlands best centre back in most of the games he played BUT then he reverts to type with that ridiculous tackle on Gundogan.
As an older supporter kind of reminds me of when we brought Gregor Stevens back from Leicester, his disciplinary baggage came with him unfortunately .
20.) 07 Jan 2025 12:31:36
As an outsider looking in, I think you should go for Porteous, granted not the greatest but the physicality and hopefully a more maturely controlled aggression gained in the last 2 years is what Rangers badly need.
21.) 07 Jan 2025 12:36:19
How many red cards did morelos get?
Seeker, that averages out about 1 red card a season. For a defender that's not bad.
22.) 07 Jan 2025 12:37:29
John was it your good self that actually said watford instigated the talks first by enquiring about wanting to sign kieran dowell and then we offered dowell plus 750k for porteous ? would i be correct in saying that ?.
23.) 07 Jan 2025 13:12:42
Ows it was not alleged it was 100% factually correct that he left a crime scene.
24.) 07 Jan 2025 13:18:28
Storm I was going to say the same about fans peeing against things they shouldn't have.
It is still a rumour though at the moment isn't it. I just read hull have offered £1.7M.
25.) 07 Jan 2025 13:58:07
Storm, I try to avoid war memorials.
26.) 07 Jan 2025 22:15:39
Class Mark ?.
04 Jan 2025 09:04:04
Very good to see Fraser on loan. At this stage I'm glad we have not sold him.
1.) 04 Jan 2025 09:41:44
Don't think anyone can doubt the talent Kent has. His problem is obviously his mentality as his attitude was horrendous. He then carried that to Fenerbache so can't work out why anyone would want that attitude back in a squad where we are trying to improve with positive hungry young players.
2.) 04 Jan 2025 10:19:26
I think if Ryan Kent comes then we should get behind him. It could actually be better this time around as I'm sure he has probably learned some lessons about attitude and application. Like we all do in life. Same goes for the manager, not my ideal candidate, but while he is our manager we back him.
3.) 04 Jan 2025 10:42:36
Ryan Kent will never be a Rangers player again, well hopefully he is not, I still can't understand anyone wanting Kent back.
4.) 04 Jan 2025 10:51:48
I thought Kent was a good player and worked very hard, but just picked the wrong decision too often.
5.) 04 Jan 2025 10:55:02
Agree John, I feel he has something to offer but needs games.
6.) 04 Jan 2025 10:57:51
Mystar you would still have Hagi in the B team.
7.) 04 Jan 2025 11:01:27
I suppose Kent did assist the assist??.
8.) 04 Jan 2025 11:10:37
Unfortunately his wrong decisions caught up with us when he missed that sitter in the europa league final.
9.) 04 Jan 2025 11:26:34
Coldo, correct because of his contract situation, he doesn't sign another contract he'll be sold.
10.) 04 Jan 2025 12:11:03
That’s very true Mark ?.
11.) 04 Jan 2025 12:40:16
Coldo is creaming his pants at the very thought of Kent returning.
12.) 04 Jan 2025 12:44:50
It's undeniable that on form, Ryan Kent showcased his skills and formed a strong partnership with Borna. The debate about actively pursuing his return is a tough one, but if the opportunity arises at the right price, why not consider it? He outshines our current left wingers and even when not at his best, managed to draw attention from multiple opposition players and earn valuable penalties.
The negativity towards him is puzzling since his contributions are evident. It's worth noting that some players who returned to Rangers for a second spell excelled, suggesting the potential for Kent to shine once more if given the chance.
13.) 04 Jan 2025 12:51:59
Catch, that’s a bit harsh, he made a bursting run into the box in added time in the searing heat and made a decent connection, the keeper just pulled off an outstanding save.
14.) 04 jan 2025 19:12:44
kent will never play fir rangers again, well hopefully not anyway
pure genius as per star.
01 Jan 2025 15:02:07
Jack Butland allegedly in hospital seriously ill.
1.) 01 Jan 2025 15:42:08
Horrible news. Let's hope he recovers ASAP.
2.) 01 Jan 2025 16:02:17
He's back home after spending the night in hospital. Get well soon jack.
17 Jan 2025 13:30:15
That's my understanding, we also have a sell on clause.
17 Jan 2025 13:28:24
Wsl I'd cut your hand off for a point next week.
17 Jan 2025 07:42:00
Zikos. With the latest add on we have received circa 2.3, next addon is when he appears in 100 league matches
The other one I agree with will unlikely happen get to a cup semi final, final.
16 Jan 2025 22:24:41
Ayrshire we were linked with this guy in the summer.
16 Jan 2025 20:20:08
Under 18.
17 Jan 2025 17:13:39
Wsl loans on academy players at present r not limited.
17 Jan 2025 17:09:50
Zikos a significant part of the fee is already paid, it is normal for loan fees to be deducted from the fee
Pc
C very clear he wants Cortes and this season niggle nothing to do with his major injury last year.
17 Jan 2025 13:38:22
Sydney u r correct re savings

Big dado.
