Hi all, sorry to bang on from my recent post, as a club we need to bring through youth in order to be self sustainable, bring a winning ethos, bring through a capability that can take us forward, sell at remarkable profit and buy when required, it's not rocket science, it's what's required. Watp.
04 Dec 2025 00:23:08
Won't ever happen same with that lot it doesn't happen. We don't have the games or time to bring youth in.
04 Dec 2025 02:38:33
Sorry but easiest thing in world to say
But just consider. this is what every other spl club has been doing and they are years ahead of us.
You can't just say it and make it so unless you want to risk relegation
Simple truth is our kids are losing interest in football and not playing as much the flair is being drunmed outta them and making it less fun to play also a lot of these you boys and parents now pay to train and pay to play and pay for transport lots of the best youth can't ecen afford to train with clubs.

I think we need a Scottish core of 4 players, 4/5 high ability level internationals and a couple of youth players sprinkled in.
That was always the winning formula years ago but seems to be gone.
04 Dec 2025 04:14:32
Agree Forever. Bringing in a couple every so often is a good strategy but a team full will win you nothing. Our player model, our way of thinking is why we are here. Constantly buying to hopefully develop.
04 Dec 2025 06:37:29
What we need is QUALITY not quantity - experience and ability first stop - wholesale changes by bringing in average run of the mill players MUST stop and now! It has been done in the past when Souness built a spine to our side when we were nowhere - we don't have a spine to our team - more a team of spineless players.
A full back four is needed but can't be done all at once - GET THE SPINE SORTED 49rs and please get the buying/scouting sorted - ps Chermiti wouldn't get a game down our local parks for the Sunday pub teams- the lad is torture and brings us nothing - what a state we are in?
A couple players at most of experience to settle the ship in January if the right players are available then?

Cd3
That's all well good, but bears complaining too many projects in squad. Where you draw line? At present 1st 11 raw at best, and question their desire for 57 and beyond. I yearn for 5 John Brown at back with decent wingers and Mcoist/Hatelyq partner up top. LBH were still suffering previous balloon splurge on average nobodies.
04 Dec 2025 06:53:26
Agree Floyd.
04 Dec 2025 07:42:25
We don't have a pathway structure for men's youth football in Scotland that is suitable beyond U18-U19's.
Very few 18 year olds will ever be ready to play regularly for Rangers and those that are even close typically move down south.
So from 19+ we are left with a group of lower quality players with no pathway for development.
04 Dec 2025 07:43:41
Playing some from the academy wouldn't be worse than some we've signed for sure. Unfortunately apart from demands for success until a proper structure is put in place to develop them in Scotland nothing will change. It's not just on us and Celtic but it's the SFAs disgraceful negligence for our youth.
04 Dec 2025 07:46:25
I agree bluefloyd in the summer we went with quantity which was this obviously wrong. The majority of us wanted a massive clear out me included but we tried to do to much in one window and it has cost us. I agree 100% quality needed over quantity. But who would you keep?
04 Dec 2025 08:15:48
Summed up perfectly EHL. I think most fans would love to see more kids break thru but sadly it's not going to happen till changes are made at the top.
04 Dec 2025 08:25:31
I have felt for a while now that it is not giving someone that time to get to that stage though that is the main issue. we change managers and that is then followed by a huge clear out. that hasn't worked so far so we need to break that pattern.
We need to add 2-3 experienced, quality players in the right positions to this group. there is talent in those we have, there are other reasons that we lose, confidence being the main one atm I think.
with support and coaching some of them will come good.
so yes get rid of them all and I can pretty much guarantee if we are still losing next season then the call will go for another clear out usually preceded by the manager being sacked. we need to give players time and add 2-3 better quality every season. build a squad and a team.
04 Dec 2025 08:40:08
Used to be the shout, 'once we are 2 or 3 up' the young lads should get game time.
Can anyone tell me the last time we were 3 up?
04 Dec 2025 08:41:31
Said this before but what Development are these young players meant to get at Rangers?
The manager and coaching staff change ever year.
The club currently are not good enough.
I have said it since Gio was managing that more youth players need brought through. guys like Curtis and Rice but they don't get given a real chance especially now when we cannot even win games comfortably.
Its all rather depressing at Rangers the now and would be very difficult for a young lad to handle, i think.
Curtis scores and creates goals and he can't even get a game over diving wee gits like Gassama. No talented youth players will want to come to Rangers.
04 Dec 2025 08:42:10
Totally agree regarding youth the only way to develop players is to play them. We need to abolish the league setup to a 20 team league playing each other 2x with a championship with 20 teams playing each other 2x 4 up 4 down with 2 teams promoted/ relegated
via play offs. This would allow some easier games for the development of youth players also it would create more money for the lesser teams allowing them to development players and better infrastructure.
It would also stop the stagnation of playing each team 4 x allowing teams to be far more attacking in there approach meanwhile still keeping an exciting end to the season at both ends of the table this would bring in more revenue and given teams and players something to aspire to. Under the current structure why would anyone invest in Aberdeen for instance when the best they can ever do is win a scottish Cup.
04 Dec 2025 09:05:20
Good post blue floyd. It's quality, desire, will tow won. If they are Scottish good but that is not a essential.
Let's stop with the going back I for old players. Jason Cummings was mentioned.
No just no. Rangers were synonymous with Standards, Quality. Let's get back to that. Build the spine as blue Floyd said. Them work around that the next transfer window.
Quality over quantity.
04 Dec 2025 11:42:37
Storm - Only ones I would keep would be Butland- Barron -Fernandez - Nsiala (raw but potential) -Diomande-Raskin - Gassama - Miovski (who feel will come good) - Bajrami - Curtis - Danilo at a push -and would like to see more of Cameron on park and sign Cornelius if fit -also unsure how Sterling will be after long term injury? Ideally the rest can go but there we are back to wholesale changes (which I am against) so I would expect a good few others to stay initially - but we need to drip feed class and experience into our team ASAP
I have said long enough on here that Taverniers time should be up but worry about this extended contract which may be offered - we NEED to move on from Tav great servant - but need a real dynamic captain to mould and drive our team to regular trophy wins - IMHO.
04 Dec 2025 12:15:33
There is no talent in this squad and that is the only and reason why we are in this mess.
04 Dec 2025 13:36:50
BF - Danny Rohl will no doubt know who he wants to keep, and potential signings in the January Transfer Window.
My opinion only but I would keep Curtis, and Bajrami especially based on his performances these last couple of games.
Agree that Cameron needs some minutes as he was outstanding at Dundee.
04 Dec 2025 16:03:02
Miovski won't come good BF only decent time he had in his career was Aberdeen not good enough everywhere else.
Angus players need time but they still need to show they are good enough from time to time not many are doing that.
Ally Curtis came on Saturday done nothing yes he hasn't played as much as he should have been when they get the chance they need to grab it he didn't and I like the boy. Rice is just not good enough plain and simple never will be.
04 Dec 2025 19:25:00
Angus you only get time to develop as long as we are moving in the right direction and winning most of our games.
Get what your saying but we are never going to be in a position to give players let's say two seasons to see if they can come good, the time frame has to be much shorter than that because of the demands.
I also think if we had a stronger balance to our team then there would be less need for players constantly needing time to develop.
If most of the first 11 were game ready then that would allow maybe two or three max to develop further.
It would also help develop younger players if we are winning as it breeds confidence.
In my view get a winning side on the park then that gives us more scope to have a successful player model, but not like this bringing far too many in that are not ready.
Oh good to see you posting again ?.
