As a Leeds supporter I was delighted when Rothwell signed as he was really good last year but is a shadow of his former self this year. Gutted it hasn't worked but would suggest he will be relatively easy to move on unlike some in the squad.

Rothwell's fitness levels has been a joke. For a top championship player who is used to demands of playing 2 games a week would have expected so much better. Dowells relationship with Martin has basically wasted a year of his career as well as wasting a wage with us. Would like to see most of the loans cancelled too if its possible.

We won't get anything for Rothwell. A lifeless character who looks like a pub player who is shattered making his way off the bus, sweating before he even gets his strip on. I'd cut my losses with him.

I think Dowell has had this message for the past 3 windows. Unfortunately his wage is far greater than his ability. I think the same situation with Rothwell. Surprised if either of them move.

I thought Rothwell would have done well in Rohl team. I don't get it. We just can't sell everyone. As a manager and a coach some players need to be worked with. Rothwell is a seasoned pro he should be able to walk into his natural position and own it. Has he been out with injury is there other health issues.

Rothwell is an interesting one and a perfect example of why you should trust data and player profiling and not bypass these to sign players based on the demands of manager / head coach.
He's was never going to adapt to the demands of playing for us.

I would imagine Rothwell was given a very nice financial package to tempt him north. Will any interested clubs be willing ro match that to take him back south? I have to hope he hasn't settled up here and is willing to forego any difference to return to more natural surroundings where he offers up something more than we have seen from him.

Free to leave doesn't mean they leave on a free. If, as is rumoured, we paid £400,000 for Rothwell, we should be able to get that money back from an EFL club.
Maybe he'll come back into the reckoning when Diomande is away, and surprise us all. Dowell has been a waste of a wage but would he be any worse as a No 10 than Aasgaard?

Be lucky if anyone matches the money+ signing on fee they got from us, so wouldn't be surprised if they just hang on till end of contracts.
