Rangers review say Raskin has a clause in his contract giving us a 1 year extension so he's got 2.5 years left to go. Maybe that's why there's no hurry to tie him to another contract. Play well at world cup we should get a good offer.

I'd try and get any sort of offer for him. One good game in 5. He's not really got any particularly strong attribute apart from acting tough. The fact we are worried about losing him tells us just how awful our squad is.

Raskin has not been playing great this season so far but a spell off form is not a reason to get rid of him for " the first decent offer". let's see how he looks if we ever bring in any decent layers for him to play with. He's looked good for Belgium this season, I wonder why that is? The length of his contract means that we don't need to worry about selling him just yet until we get a really good offer, possibly after the W.
C. I have no concerns about him being first name on the team sheet in this current squad. The Souttar situation is more worrying, he needs to either sign or leave in January or if he won't go dropped so that he doesn't make the W, C squad.

McTominay just won the league with Napoli but that won't even come close to him playing at a world cup, a thing they would be dreaming about, can't wreck Souttar's dream because he won't go in January, 100% not imho.

Dropping Souttar should be about his form and if we bring in a replacement she should'nt play if the new signing is better. Team selection should be in the interests of Rangers not any player. However, I wouldn't drop him just because he doesn't leave.

Going back to the original thread, I don't see anyone that would improve the starting 11 above Raskin at this time despite a loss of form. That is their overall problem, a bloated squad that lacks quality. I have to confess that I like Raskin and his loss of form is probably a lot to do what Martin put him through plus lack of quality around him.
I think he will come good, not much better options for now and if a good offer comes in after a good world cup then we take and move on.

Lots of you saying Raskin ain't playing well. Raskin does the dirty work like Barron. Both ain't flare players, their there to have a solid midfield, break down play and move the ball on that's exactly why he's a Belgium international, 1 for you spud with your stats, how many times does Raskin recover the ball and tackles won on average.
Raskin will be missed when he leaves.

If Souttar decides not to sign a new contract but stay and run down his contract so that he can leave for free, why should we protect his W. C dream. At this stage of a players contract he holds all the cards but there is no reason why we should play him when he is likely to be protecting himself for two reasons.
His and Scotland plans don't concern us, if Clarke wants to pick him if he hasn't kicked a ball for 6 months then that's up to him.

Winning the league far more important you don't get any trophies for paying in a World Cup. Football has changed a lot since World Cup was the pinnacle for players. Lewis Ferguson told his dad that night against Denmark came close to him winning the Italian cup with Bologna.

Okay GDog, let's look it another way to suit your narrative - how many good games has Raskin had since he signed for Rangers? How many games has he stamped his authority in a Rangers shirt? It's a cop out to just compare the standard of players between Belgium and Rangers. Come January we'll get a flavour of just how sought after he is.

I watched Derek in that podcast, Lewis said beating Denmark was up there with winning the cup in Italy, because obviously his national is playing in the world cup, he never said anything about him playing at the world cup, the biggest achievement for a player.
