Crystal Palace looking to hold talks early next week with Aribo representatives. I hope its done fast so we can move on to our targets.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 02 Jul 2022 16:07:53
I hope we get another striker along with colak right sided winger attacking midfielder that scores goals.

2.) 02 Jul 2022 17:04:13
If he is moving to palace, it won’t be quick. It will be the same deal as them in recent years. We will keep our best players in hope they can get us to the group stages of the champions league and then they will move on, and not before.

3.) 02 Jul 2022 17:13:46
Starting to worry we’re making the same mistake as last year and waiting to see if we get into champions league before signing anyone. Feels like we might be getting short changed but I really hope we’re not.

4.) 02 Jul 2022 17:16:18
£10m release clause plus whatever else we add on. Good business, he has done us a good turn but we have hagi and lowry to cover. Hope it gets done early so we can get a striker and a RW in time for the new season.

5.) 02 Jul 2022 18:56:17
Stephen if we get colak we won’t sign another striker unless someone is sold.

6.) 02 Jul 2022 21:07:00
I think we need a natural goal scorer to fight morelos as a no 1 striker.

7.) 02 Jul 2022 22:28:22
Yeah Stephen because you get them 10 a penny these days and they are always cheap. If colak signs I can’t see us getting another striker. Only way that would happen if Alfredo leaves.

8.) 02 Jul 2022 22:28:48
Ps if colak signs he will be fighting Alfredo for number 1.

9.) 03 Jul 2022 06:49:49
Totally agree with stormtrooper here ?We will only sign one striker unless we sell alfredo, roofe etc?.

10.) 03 Jul 2022 09:44:06
Bluemark55 said the same before. But hearing that we are choosing this year to pay back some debts which is understandable by the board but I'd just wish they were more honest with the fans. I'd be happy with free transfers and youth stepping up as long as they have done Thier homework on the frees it shouldn't be a problem.

11.) 03 Jul 2022 10:47:46
Honesty and transparency is all the Rangers fans want totally agree with the getting the youth players promoted to the first team.

12.) 03 Jul 2022 11:20:53
What happened to Wilson saying any money from player sales would be reinvested in playing squad, well that's 12m for Patterson plus 5 for gerrard.

13.) 03 Jul 2022 12:38:04
Me2 strange name! Priorities change and I get why it's frustrating and I was one of those that had same opinion but when you get the info it's to clear debts to chairmen and other to help make club self sufficient then that's only a good thing and the squad is definitely good enough to win with a couple of tweaks it was injury that done is in last year. If we can get a fee for aribo and that is reinvested should be more than enough to keep squad competitive.

14.) 03 Jul 2022 13:48:38
The 10 million being quoted will allow us to bring in a couple decent replacements.

15.) 03 Jul 2022 15:51:26
Me2, gerrard was not a player.

We have invested money in resigning McGregor Davis Arfield Goldson Lowry McKinnon
Added Souttar

Playing squad at academy and b team significant player investment

Might not be what u want, but there is investment in playing squad.

16.) 03 Jul 2022 16:27:25
John, my only concern is Kent, Aribo and Morelos being in the last year of their contracts and they can then walk for nothing and I don't see an obvious replacement within our ranks for either Kent or Morelos. They would have been a priority for me ahead of Davis and McGregor. I like the fact that we are signing quality youngsters but I worry about the goalkeeping situation and I have concerns that Roofe and Souttar will spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch. Hopefully I am wrong.

02 Jul 2022 06:10:50
Were making attempts to get McAtee on loan from Man City a player who's highly regarded.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 02 Jul 2022 07:20:18
Would love this kid mcatee but will be extremely difficult to get him ?.

2.) 02 jul 2022 07:34:25
john was saying gio had his pick of city’s kids, palmer and this boy are at the tops of the tree, let’s hope he comes and has a better impact than diallo, who in fairness should’ve been spared a game at the glitterdome which hit him like a runaway train.

3.) 02 Jul 2022 07:59:46
I posted this hete a few months ago. My sis works in PR down there. Palmer will stay and be involved in first team. The rest are available for gio.

4.) 02 Jul 2022 08:43:42
Mcatee will be a excellent addition for us. As others say will be hard to get over the line, given the interest in him.

Also note Charlie mcann promoted to first team squad.

5.) 02 Jul 2022 08:54:58
Clear to me Davis kept on for his experience and I would think to help McCann on his transition to 1st team!

McCann is truest rated within Rangers and if this is the plan with Davis then great move for us!

More fans need to trust the management team in full who took us to a final, making similar day to day decisions.

We do need a new face no doubt but trust and calmness is required.

6.) 02 Jul 2022 09:07:00
Gdog I have written elsewhere re Davis et al, and an interview from Wilson

Ps I disagreed re Davis, but based on Wilson I get it.

7.) 02 Jul 2022 09:40:29
John, good news on Mcann makes total sense David will be his mentor this season. The games which mcann played last season he looks like what we need in the middle of the park reminds me of Barry Ferguson.

8.) 02 Jul 2022 09:49:40
Spark. Also Davis is mentoring him with NI.
That time travelling to meet up and travelling back from games is crucial development imo.

9.) 02 Jul 2022 10:18:42
Who’s the young player currently training with the first team squad numbered 46?

10.) 02 Jul 2022 10:32:57
John great news on McCann this is the way ahead youth supplementing the squad. we have too many sub standard players in places where there should be youth.

11.) 02 Jul 2022 11:00:57
Tomthumb12, diallo should never have started that game, no way he was properly prepared. Actually think he looked more than capable towards end of his loan and definitely a player there. Outside chance he will return on loan this season.

12.) 02 Jul 2022 11:10:09
Absolutely John, great bit of man management ?.

13.) 02 Jul 2022 11:51:28
Mr ph I think it could be Kane Ritchie-Hosler.

14.) 02 Jul 2022 12:08:49
Already confirmed we aren't in for him. don't know why people are getting so hyped over rumours. We won't know until any deals are close or announced.

15.) 02 Jul 2022 13:10:13
McCann looks the business to me and if Davis prime role this coming Season is to concentrate on 1 - 2 - 1 coaching of him I won't be unhappy. He looks like one of the best young players we have had at Ibrox for a long time.

16.) 02 Jul 2022 14:20:44
Lowry and McCann would be good additions to the midfield but both need game time over Davis and Arfield.

17.) 02 Jul 2022 15:01:47
And how does Gio get the pick of any Man City kid?

18.) 02 Jul 2022 15:26:51
Thanks John25.
Seen him in a few of the training photos and couldn’t work out who it was.

19.) 02 Jul 2022 17:36:33
TJrfc it’s a rumours page everyone’s entitled to get hyped over rumours.

29 Jun 2022 21:49:55
Sky sports reporting colak agreed personal terms and a fee agreed.

Onewaltersmith

29 Jun 2022 18:54:17
Reading Leeds to revive interest in Ryan Kent I know its only rumours but I sincerely hope our summer isn't dominated by the 3 players on last year of deals will they won't they saga I think Rangers have to take the lead and take a sign or sell policy.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 29 Jun 2022 20:20:02
Walter been doing it’s round in Leeds. Paper there says 15 million.

2.) 29 Jun 2022 21:25:23
These 3 players hold the key to us buying any big hitters? Do we think the money is there for transfer’s? I honestly don’t ✌️.

3.) 29 Jun 2022 21:27:56
They possibly have onewalter I'm just not sure that players aren't running down contracts for signing on fees now. The market is starting to change for all clubs think you'll see lots more people going out of contract and waiting on teams paying a signing on fee.

4.) 29 Jun 2022 21:52:16
Hopefully kenty stays.

5.) 29 Jun 2022 21:56:05
Ive said in other posts we can't allow any player to run down there contracts. I think we'll likely lose 1 poss 2 of the guys in question but need to be on our terms.

6.) 29 Jun 2022 22:16:14
If true, wonder if we can get Summerville as part of the deal?

7.) 29 Jun 2022 22:25:48
15m for Kent would be a great deal. For too inconsistent and allows us to bring in a couple of other wingers.

8.) 29 Jun 2022 22:26:34
with One year left on his contract we couldn't turn down 15 million.

9.) 29 jun 2022 22:44:04
15, imo, is fantastic, no it’s even better than that

it allows rangers to consider at least 3 major signing, or ensures our financial health, or both

kent is too inconsistent to refuse any offer like that, again imo.

10.) 29 Jun 2022 23:23:57
Think it depends on selling player before we can buy the quality needed. Could see loan deals again and diallo returning. Looking at keeping Davis and McGregor indicates we don't have funds to teplacew them.

11.) 29 Jun 2022 23:58:06
Sell all day long at £15 million. He is replaceable.

12.) 30 Jun 2022 00:35:17
I know everyone has different opinions on Kent but for me he is by far the most naturally gifted player in the league by an absolute country mile, ill be gutted to see him leave regardless of any fee but we simply cannot let him run down his contract ( in my opinion ) if we get anywhere near 15 offer it has to be accepted, even if we got 8 million each for Aribo, Alfie an Kent that's 24 million, that's scary doe i think all command a higher fee but if we could use last year's Europe run / tickets to clear all debt and get a large proportion of the figures I mentioned for last year lads to put in to transfers it's really quite a vast amount for our league, last 3 transfers we simply haven't built, it pains me to say we have stagnated in that respect, I do firmly believe we have a right good squad but the league we are in we cannot afford to let players of this calibre go for free.

13.) 30 Jun 2022 00:57:29
If we're looking to play 3 at the back then our width would come from wingbacks. I'd take the money for Kent and invest in quality.

14.) 30 Jun 2022 01:09:36
Hendo i think Davies getting another year was well done by Rangers he won't play very often, and just for the boys coming in to the first team squad for the first time he will be great for them, and if Kent gets sold for 15m in the ĺast year of contract that will be superb, really like him but for that he has to be sold.

15.) 30 Jun 2022 03:26:37
Not sure how much profut would be left. Am sure there is sell on fees to be paid. But yah i would take 15 ratger than run down his contract.

16.) 30 Jun 2022 05:23:02
Common guys for anyone who half understands the beautiful game surely to god must know/ see how important kent is for the team ?I'll say it again of course he should be scoring more than 3 goals a season and did with ease the season we won 55?But we need to look at the full picture here when shouting how mediocre ? kent is ?
Look at the assists last season 22 i believe and he makes space for others with his movement and drawing at least two opposition players to him sometimes three ?If kent goes he'll be very difficult to replace imo ? It's only when he's not there that the kent bashers will realise what we've lost ?.

17.) 30 Jun 2022 05:50:08
Spot on Coops.

18.) 30 Jun 2022 07:10:19
Geesa we have paid for kent owe zero.
So say we get 15 million, we make 8 million extra which Liverpool r due say 20% the repeated figure, we owe them 1.6 million
Leaves in the bank 13.4 mill, I’d be happy with that.

19.) 30 Jun 2022 07:10:51
Coop we r a selling club, no one bashing him.

20.) 30 Jun 2022 07:49:54
Would be happy if Kent stays, but also would be good to see a change, his stats inside the box are terrible and that’s where u score goals.

21.) 30 Jun 2022 08:29:32
We can't keep a hold of these players forever; kent, Morelos and Aribo are players with ambitions and want to move on from the spfl. It's not like the old games were players stay for years. The business plan a few years back was to buy then make a profit from them. I personally think this season might be a rebuild and go into the league as 2nd favourites.

22.) 30 Jun 2022 15:39:56
SWS - you have pinpointed our transfer strategy as we are unable to move forward until there is an update on Kent, Morelos, and Aribo.
Hopefully we can get some clarification soon.

27 Jun 2022 22:47:17
Any1 heard anything about rumours of either investment or potential buy out from far east. Iv read few sites and this seems to have a few people excited.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 28 Jun 2022 03:42:28
None what so ever wouldn't surprise if any investment did come Takeover from the far East would highly be unlikely as of no Value in it.

2.) 28 Jun 2022 07:47:56
Rumours of Investment from Far East and Middle East surfaces every year ????.

3.) 28 Jun 2022 08:33:24
Posted yesterday.

4.) 28 Jun 2022 08:39:43
FRASER54 - you are spot on mate. there is no value for foreign investors in taking a large share or takeover of Rangers.
It would cost them less than a 3rd string left back in england to buy out our wonderful club. with next to no return, in fact exepected to plough more money in every year, in the hope we have the odd good run in Europe.
Better investing in whisky - great returns ;-)

5.) 28 Jun 2022 08:58:42
Correct Gregory.

6.) 28 Jun 2022 09:35:17
Could be so truth look at all the commercial and tv rights deals we made with asia.

7.) 28 Jun 2022 09:40:04
dcp capital chinease company already have an investment in our woman's team n sponcer deal

said a while back the may invest more in first team as time goes on.

8.) 28 Jun 2022 09:45:38
Frazer54 no value in it? Our stocks high after reaching a European final the eyes of the world are on us. If we make the champs league stock increases again. Your a celtic man or you know nothing.

9.) 28 Jun 2022 09:51:50
Am I not right in saying we already have Far Eastern investors? do we not have a a gentleman from HongKong who invested in fact is it not him and his wife who put the money into the ladies team so maybe there is some truth.

10.) 28 Jun 2022 10:49:30
Under normal circumstances, if there was genuine interest in a buy out the share price would reflect it - and it's pretty static.

So assume it's not something that's real, or if it is, it's at the very early stages - in which case I'd be surprised if it was common knowledge.

11.) 28 Jun 2022 10:58:02
Twacoos we have several Far East major investors.

12.) 28 Jun 2022 11:06:30
Frazer54, there would be no financial benefit to an investor yes that's true but there are other reasons to invest such as PR, Advertising and tax avoidance. How much money does Leipzig make red bull? I don't really know but I'd wager not very much in their grand scheme. The returns for RB are that they have a presence in the European stage (x 2 if you include Salzburg. )

13.) 28 jun 2022 11:47:06
frazier, nobody expect to make money investing in football, the elite companies who own the likes of red bull etc already making billions every year, they are simply spreading they’re name and associating it with a major sport name, football clubs need money poured int them, not taken out, not just rangers, all of them,

{Ed001's Note - tell that to the Glazers Tom.}

14.) 28 Jun 2022 13:05:53
Cheers John I thought we had.

15.) 28 jun 2022 16:11:58
i take your point ed.

Onewaltersmith's banter posts with other poster's replies to Onewaltersmith's banter posts

03 Jul 2022 10:56:42
Reading some of the posts recently it's obvious a lot of nervous fans over slow start to the window but for the 3 players entering the final year we may have to accept the possibility all 3 running down there contracts and us not earning a penny as likes of rudiger at Chelsea or lingard at Man utd have.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 03 Jul 2022 11:34:22
There are a lot of nervous fans on here Onewalter, but they are trying to put a brave face on it and trying to be positive.

I am trying to put a brave face on it, but have to admit my negative thoughts are winning and I'm thinking smeltic will dump us again this season.

Slag me all you like guys, no one likes us I don't care.

Cheers.

2.) 03 Jul 2022 12:52:22
The club can’t force other clubs to buy our players.
The club can’t force players to sign contract extensions.
If those that are in their final year put their heart and soul into every performance then they will go with my best wishes.

3.) 03 Jul 2022 13:24:08
Remember the stick Conner got because he didn’t sign in the timeline that suited some? Yet still we got it
Done.

29 Jun 2022 21:13:55
How many new players do you think we'll have when the squad leave for pre season next week. I'd love Colak confirmed and at least 1 other.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 30 Jun 2022 01:27:49
Need a rw and cb for first team.

2.) 30 Jun 2022 06:36:16
We've got soutter he'll defend on his own.

26 Jun 2022 14:46:38
I see Tom Lawrence being linked again. i know he's had his problems offield but as a fee transfer he's worth a punt.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 26 Jun 2022 15:10:40
Not for me. We don't need any problem players.

2.) 26 Jun 2022 15:34:10
He's not a problem player, but he is a good player.

3.) 26 Jun 2022 15:54:45
Would you of said that about gazza.

4.) 26 Jun 2022 16:14:28
I would consider him a problem and would steer clear. Gazza was a generational talent and worth a gamble, which paid off in style. This guy is a championship level player and not on the same planet.

5.) 26 Jun 2022 16:23:21
Christen different argument, did Gazza leave someone for dead, or kill somebody as one off our ex guys did.

6.) 26 Jun 2022 16:50:14
He beat his wife John; just as bad imo.

7.) 26 Jun 2022 18:20:49
Agree sweep. He beat his wife. That's enough for me.

8.) 26 Jun 2022 18:28:22
I get that sweep. and he was sold not long after, I’m not defending him.
My view why buy known trouble.
Our club don’t need the bad press, although papers might not cover it.

At rangers standards need to be very high, hence why a few have left especially from academy.

9.) 26 Jun 2022 18:48:17
Yes I full agree with this John.

10.) 26 Jun 2022 19:43:40
This guy should be nowhere near our club and just because of the past doesn’t mean we should in the future so bringing Gazza into it is irrelevant.

25 Jun 2022 08:46:51
Have read soo many compliments about mick beale since his interview the other day feeling being most fans would like to see him back at some point whilst SG won't ever be welcome guys beale made a decision same as SG to go for m9re money and a better league. Does any1 seriously think if he'd indicated he wanted to stay that wouldn't have happened. I love our fans but we have selective memories.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 25 Jun 2022 09:43:05
Both did leave you are correct but not to be welcomed back I don’t know about that as SG did bring us 55 no matter how he left.

2.) 25 Jun 2022 09:55:45
I have no ill will to SG. Club could have probably done with a change anyway, we won 55, had some good euro nights, got money for him leaving and what I consider an upgrade in a more tactically astute and experienced manager.

3.) 25 Jun 2022 09:59:47
They should be welcome back in my opinion.

4.) 25 Jun 2022 10:01:51
Can’t help but be impressed by this fella

He is very Rangers in all he does, has real class and seems like a really well regarded individual

If he does well on his own, which I hope he does then maybe one day he will be back with us

I think he could be moulded into a great Director of Football.

5.) 25 Jun 2022 11:02:54
Couldn’t disagree more with you on this OneWalter!

Of course he left! His bond with SG is massive. You’re being naive here mate.

6.) 25 Jun 2022 12:52:50
I'm not disputing it so was Walter Smith when sourness left I'm not saying he would've go job but same ones who castigate SG apparently would welcome back beale. Why?

7.) 25 Jun 2022 12:57:18
Of course he left, he had little option as a new manager would have wanted to bring in his own coaching team and that's exactly what happened. For me, both would be welcome back at Ibrox at any time, but probably not in a working capacity. They did a good job here.

8.) 25 Jun 2022 13:04:55
I haven't seen a single poster say they would welcome back Beale and not SG if I'm honest.

9.) 25 Jun 2022 13:41:06
Both welcome back anytime?.

10.) 25 Jun 2022 14:51:06
Neither have I snell at the end of the day he left to go to epl half way thru a season ( I wasn’t happy at the time) but everyone that SG came with will always be welcomed back in my eyes for bringing us 55.

11.) 25 Jun 2022 16:49:32
Sg and his team will always be welcomed back in my eyes.

25 Jun 2022 08:12:22
If we've agreed a fee with PAOK why haven't we heard anything more. Have we reached personal terms with the boy. Why the delay.

Onewaltersmith

1.) 25 Jun 2022 09:47:35
Apart from John25 stating we've agreed a fee with PAOK for colak, i've not seen this anywhere at all?No reason to doubt John25 though, as he gets very good reliable info and is always on the ball so i hope John25's info is spot on ?.

2.) 25 Jun 2022 10:05:08
John said striker and goalkeeper coming in within 10 days ( that was 9 days ago) so if not Colak who else could it be? Also no goalkeeper!

3.) 25 Jun 2022 10:38:03
2blue are you counting the days like?

4.) 25 Jun 2022 10:54:01
Love it two blue.
What I have recently heard we plan to sign a few players before 2025.

5.) 25 Jun 2022 11:04:16
Colak is a done deal from what I’ve been told. But let’s be honest only a strict few will know the truth.

6.) 25 Jun 2022 11:18:12
2blue if we want to be precise we signed a goal kee
Alan McGregor
We signed a forward Zak Lovelace so technically I was correct was I not.

7.) 25 Jun 2022 11:18:47
Correct gdog.

8.) 25 Jun 2022 11:31:09
100% John but take no notice of this guy with his snide digs no need for it mate ?.

9.) 25 Jun 2022 11:52:27
John if you count McGregor and Lovelace you would be correct but I sincerely hope that was not your information? Are we signing the forward player and goalkeeper or not? Is the forward player Colak?

10.) 25 Jun 2022 12:48:16
No it was not, but I’ll have a word with Wilson to speed up deals.

11.) 25 Jun 2022 13:03:27
2blue what info do you get Why are you having a go at John for giving out info So he maybe got the amount of days wrong it’s not the end of the world and there is loads of reasons why transfers can take longer.

12.) 25 Jun 2022 13:29:25
I'd be grateful if you could John. Tell him to get the finger out mate.

13.) 25 Jun 2022 13:51:43
Why on earth do we have a guy (and in some case’s guy) having a go at somebody on this site. Honestly, do you have nothing better in your life but you call out a fellow rangers support on a forum, seriously, is this the best you’ve got? If John stopped posted snippets of his information the decent rumours of this site would drop significantly. C’mon mate, take a long hard look in the mirror and grow up.

14.) 25 Jun 2022 14:02:05
Well said stormtrooper. I look forward to John25 input. Gives facts instead of. if you had 59m quid who would you buy tripe. Deals take time. Perhaps John25 should have said two weeks and not 10 days lol lol. Keep up the good work John25. This site would be poorer without you.

There are posters on here, John being one, who take a great deal of time going to watch the youngsters play, manage to get information from within the club on various on goings and post said information or their thoughts on here. I for one would rather that than the rubbish the media pump out on daily basis. Keep it up guys.

John you might be able to shed more light on if rossiter is ready in 8-10 days hahahaha

Always look out for John posts (I don’t post much) but he is always knowledgable in things! Intrigued for the next few years with all the good youth players we have :)

Will do parlane although I suspect he won’t take notice from someone on a rumour site

Sadly for rossiter it will be five years. B4 we resign him, I’m told we have first refusal once he turns 35 Welsh bear.

One Walter I wrote we had agreed a fee circa 2 million for Colak.
Personal terms and medical still to be sorted. Sometimes you can have a protracted negotiation on terms with player and agent.

Not an expert but I've always seen the hold up in any transfer is not the actual fee but personal terms. As said above, many reasons for deals to take longer than first thought.

Parlane I have known cases where a fee is agreed but personal terms can’t be. I’ve see a player walk away because they don’t have a good vibe
It happens.

People say yes take him but based on his arsenal or Wales performances he did nowhere near enough to warrant a contract he'll spend most of his time on treatment table. No thanks time to move away from signing injury pro e players.

Ive said in other posts we can't allow any player to run down there contracts. I think we'll likely lose 1 poss 2 of the guys in question but need to be on our terms.

That team won't score enough goals and if the 3 leave they must be replaced.

As a replacement for Alfie or as a backup. If fee is 2.5 he won't be sitting on a bench. Looks a good physical guy who should perform well in our league.

We seem to have a raft of exciting young players and with a bit of luck at least a couple will make a name in our 1st team.

And what if we don't qualify for CL or win title 2 things this team couldn't do last year. We need to start behaving like a top football club. Realise our assets at the best time refresh squad and improve it where possible. If any player wants to go sell them and reinvest that money.
