Reports supposedly coming out the player we were linked with from Hammersmith hasn't actualy signed as of yet for Lorient. the deadline was yesterday for them to take up the option to buy. any1 know anything about this.

I might be in the minority here but if he signs for someone else so what he’s a guy from a relegated team (loan) that the Swedish didn’t fancy, there’s others at a similar or better level we can and probably are going for. PC and team are experienced enough to know what is needed and unfortunately for us keep it private till signed.

Given the age bracket and markets we’re shopping in I’d be very surprised if we signed him. Especially considering he doesn’t even have the benefit of being home grown for the UEFA squad rules. Killie will be wanting to keep him in the hopes they get into the groups in the conference league.

I still say it’s only a matter of time before someone takes uefa to court over homegrown rule as it’s restrictive to people born in their own country and came through youth academy it’s also age bias.
And they would win 100%.

John27, because he’s better than what we have. He might not be world class but definitely better than wright and macausland.
I would be happy enough with this signing. Not as a starter every week but someone that can contribute over a season and pitch for n with goals and assists. Also a good sub to bring on as his delivery into the box is excellent.

I’m f we can get better great, but no signs of signing any players that we know for certain are better. All prospects atm.
Personally I would sign both armstrongs, Simon Murray, Barron and Josh Campbell. Maybe even the lad from Dundee. They might not start every week, but would add depth and are better than what we have.
I’m not saying that should be the level we’re aiming for but we should have squad players that do t break the bank and can add competition to the squad. Same as players like Tomori and Ralston across the city.

If he's replace scott wright then fair enough, has consistantly created goals the last 2 seasons for killie, don't think he's the sort to take a man on out wide though, always looks to get a cross in though and is good with a set piece. If we could get Armstrong and Shankland for 3-5m then for me it’s a no brainer. Both only got a year left so unless they sign a new deal in the summer Killie and Hearts will probably be looking to sell. Improves positions we need to improve and more importantly I’m confident they can do it domestically. 2 home grown players for the europa squad as well.

Tom then sign Scottish players like Lewis ferguson, Lennon miller etc ones that will have value after we buy them. We have wasted enough money on players that have no sell on value. The only time players like shankland or Armstrong should be signed if at all is on free transfers. Thankfully I think clement and Koepen know this.

Danny Armstrong was at Hamilton accies as a kid for 10 years then moved to wolves so i'd be surprised if he doesn't qualify as homegrown. That said i'm not convinced that he is a bluenose but that didn't stop Neil McCann.

Any transfer is a risk, (just look at Siva and the £35m spent to prove that), however, spending £5m or anything like it on a player that is 30 years old and has only a year left on their contract doesn't exactly appear to be the most logical unless the player happens to be a top quality international with a track record of scoring goals in Europe at the top level.
Surely there are better players out there if we look at the correct markets when spending that sort of money. In terms of Scottish players, (and for that matter young British players), we need to start developing our own youngsters.
Too many of the players that are being highlighted that we should sign are at lower level Scottish Clubs which begs the question why have we not scouted them or worse still, why have we had them at Rangers and let them go! Hopefully things will be different under PC and his team than they have been historically.

If pc and gers are seriously interested in shankland then we should make a low ball offer knowing its prob gona get rejected. Make it known to shankland we be back in January for pre contract. I realise tapping a player isn't allowed, but it happens all the time. shankland being a gers fan knows he waits a season max and he's playing for his boyhood club. Even then at 30 year old we could still offer a 3 year contract to him.
