Looks like Hagi back training with the first team.

davidb1996

1.) 01 Oct 2024 15:46:31
This has made my day. The boy is an absolute professional and he loves the club. I hope he gets some chances to show what he can do.
Despite some posters' opinions (I know we cannot agree on everything :), it is not about thew money, but the love for the beautiful game.

2.) 01 Oct 2024 16:07:14
Not before time, class player.

3.) 01 Oct 2024 16:11:47
Seems to be resolved.

4.) 01 Oct 2024 16:13:50
Yes Hagi himself has now confirmed it.

5.) 01 Oct 2024 17:08:04
At last. Hope finally sorted situation. Whether or not u rate him Whole things been a nonsense. Personally think he's better than any of those playing just now. Hopefully in the team after the break and has a couple of months to prove himself to PC or win a move in Jan and get us some money.

6.) 01 Oct 2024 17:09:07
seems to be davidb as he is also listed in the 1st team squad on the website. Dujon also signed a contract extension.

7.) 01 Oct 2024 17:13:48
Confirmed by club.

8.) 01 Oct 2024 17:33:06
As far as I’m concerned great addition. On Sunday we ended up with three right backs playing in the second half…. Tav, Sterling and Kasanwirjo. Two ended up in midfield, shows how short we are in that area.

9.) 01 Oct 2024 18:11:28
Glad this seems to have been resolved. let's hope when he gets his chance he grabs it with both hands.

10.) 01 Oct 2024 18:21:13
Good option to have in the squad. Attacking minded and creativity in which we desperately need in this squad. Hopefully he can kick on and get some game time under PC.

11.) 01 Oct 2024 18:42:51
Great news about time too.

12.) 01 Oct 2024 20:49:44
So we can afford extra money if he plays?

13.) 01 Oct 2024 20:55:44
I hope the boy does well now back in the fold but let’s not tell lies he doesn’t love the club he wanted away in the summer and got no real offers he was willing to take.

14.) 01 Oct 2024 21:06:41
Hagi will have a lot to prove if he's ever going to do anything in the game, but a poster was right we did have two rb's in midfield, probably better if he was on the bench, in my opinion Hagi should never be a starter, he'll need to impress me a lot to think different.

15.) 01 Oct 2024 22:30:07
Hagi will get sold in a year tbf don’t see the boy signing a new contract only has a year and a half left on his deal.

16.) 01 Oct 2024 22:58:16
Why not my star he’s just as good as Lawerence.

17.) 02 Oct 2024 00:10:39
G4 he has a lot to prove to me mate, he's had a few good games out of how many 99?not good enough, hope he proves me wrong though.

18.) 02 Oct 2024 09:22:14
I'd like to see him kick on and make us some coin now.

19.) 02 Oct 2024 11:05:50
Think Hagi playing for the one spot in the no 10, struggled in the wide positions before, not saying he can’t play there against some of the guff in the league but a just think some think he is something he’s not, would love to be proved wrong and he smashes it.

20.) 02 Oct 2024 13:18:04
Wilkins they have reached agreement over the clause; I think he has dropped the claim but not sure.

21.) 02 Oct 2024 17:57:19
Any truth that some senior players backed hagi and that's why PC has changed his mind?

31 Jul 2024 09:30:04
ESPN reporter saying we’ve agreed a deal with Hannibal on personal terms. No mention of a deal between the clubs but given we’ve been allowed to speak to the player you’d assume both clubs expect it to be possible.

davidb1996

1.) 31 Jul 2024 09:56:55
David, Sounds positive. Would this be a loan deal?

2.) 31 Jul 2024 09:58:42
Purchase.

3.) 31 Jul 2024 11:31:48
Nothing on ESPN site with reference to Hannibal.

12 Jun 2024 13:24:25
Reliable source in Norwich when asked about McLean to us said there’s no chance as they see him as an important player and we won’t meet the fee.

davidb1996

1.) 12 Jun 2024 13:36:09
Good.

2.) 12 Jun 2024 14:11:54
Phew!

3.) 12 Jun 2024 14:13:54
Of all the folk we’ve been linked with this one is the one I hope to be true more than anything.

4.) 12 Jun 2024 14:14:45
Ideal! Too old.

5.) 12 Jun 2024 14:20:49
Agreed. McLean won't improve us and if Barron is a possible signing then that's a better option on and off the field. The kid should improve in a Rangers environment however, i to believe we need Garcia done and dusted asap, break the bank and get him in for the qualifiers.

6.) 12 Jun 2024 14:22:34
Could the Mclean rumour just have been people mixing him up with Barron? As Mclean doesn't seem to fit the kinda player that PC and NK have been looking at. i'm still shocked PC hasn't signed anyone he has previously worked with I heard a strong rumble a while back he was determined to bring someone he knew and trusted in.

7.) 12 Jun 2024 15:05:28
I’ve no problem with a 1 or two year place holder in McLean being a rangers supporter will give his all but if there’s a large fee involved then no way should we sign him.

8.) 12 Jun 2024 15:28:19
“The kid should improve in a Rangers environment however” - Really? Do many young players improve and develop at Rangers?

Aberdeen probably have a better record of brining through and developing youth than Rangers do. I just hope Barron comes here, can get a game, and does not stagnate or go backwards like so many others.

9.) 12 Jun 2024 15:38:13
Dado he’s absolutely mediocre at best.

10.) 12 Jun 2024 16:28:46
“I’ve no problem with a 1 or two year place holder” - It never works out that way. Rangers bring in a guy to do a job in the short-term. If that older player does a job in the short-term Rangers just keep handing out one year deals and kicking the can down the road. Then one day, we find ourselves having to replace most of an aging squad.

Weir was kept one year too long. McGregor was kept one year too long. Same for Jack. I have no doubt in my mind that we just made the same mistake with Balogun.

These people are never temporary. We keep them until they decline, they became finished, and then they retire.

11.) 12 Jun 2024 16:57:59
I can see the logic in signing someone like McLean, as we need some more established professionals to help the young team bed in, and he's a rangers man. But can't see it happening for us given his wages / the fee that would be required.

12.) 12 Jun 2024 17:10:43
Rather have Barron as long as he’s played regularly.

13.) 12 Jun 2024 18:12:46
I can also see the logic in signing an experienced player to level out the young players being signed but I maybe somewhere along the age bracket of 27/ 28 should be experienced enough.

11 Jun 2024 13:04:48
Rrahmani now follows a cafe in Glasgow that some of the other players follow. The absolute pinnacle of rumour posts you are all welcome! All joking aside this is one that I’d be excited about.

davidb1996

1.) 11 jun 2024 13:58:14
david, let’s not forget, every single year we are to be excited by all of the signings, star had at least 5 down as superstars, we came second again,

we hopefully will find those two players who take us up from second.

2.) 11 Jun 2024 14:08:45
I mean this time last season I’m fairly sure I said I’d rather sign the best players in leagues similar to ours than the worst players in the better leagues. Lammers and Dessers didn’t have great goal records whereas this guy does. Not saying he’ll be a world beater but this is the type of player we should be going for imo.

3.) 11 jun 2024 14:27:49
yes, absolutely dave, we took a few cheaper options

you can talk about desserts 20 odd goals all day, that nearly 40 games and he was absolutely awful as a football player, lammers was a far bettter footballer but doesn’t have the bottle fir here, but i agree never given an opportunity to play as a lone striker, it’s time now to pay for winners, not guys nobody wants and don’t come close to international teams, we need international competitors who are ready to spill blood to succeed, not guys happy to pick up 30k a week and score against dundee or st johnston.

4.) 11 Jun 2024 15:43:12
Agreed Tom neither have what we need going forward.

27 May 2024 14:46:48
Balogun has apparently signed an extension. Not against it whatsoever, low wages, and a good backup. Also a good leader in the dressing room and if Tav and Goldson both do leave would be one of the main candidates to step up as captain.

davidb1996

1.) 27 May 2024 15:06:18
Have to agree with most of that, although he's a leader and great guy around the place I don’t see him being captain as he won’t be in the 11 all the time. He can maintain the levels of Saturday over a long period of games and unfair to expect him to.

Deserves the deal and great option when fit. First choice CB required though.

2.) 27 May 2024 15:06:32
Excellent news if true.

3.) 27 May 2024 15:22:15
Great news. Need players with his experience and leadership to help the younger generation push through ??.

4.) 27 May 2024 15:23:28
Happy with that. Never let's us down. Just wish he was younger.

5.) 27 May 2024 15:27:32
No brainer for me. A reliable deputy for next season as and when we need him.

6.) 27 May 2024 15:37:23
As long as it’s back up and back up only as we can’t get rid of everyone in the one go.
Captain? Why would we give a back up player the captaincy? Just naw.

7.) 27 May 2024 15:45:50
Won't be playing enough games to be captain.

8.) 27 May 2024 15:53:47
I have absolutely no problem whatsoever, if indeed big leon balogun has signed a new 1 year deal to stay with us for another season ?I said at the time gio should have kept him and was happy when he returned under beale, as he should have never have been away in the first place. ?

He very rarely let's you down and is a good centre half and although not an automatic starter, i think he's fantastic to have as part of our first team squad as he adds terrific experience and still the fastest centre half at ibrox. ?

Although not comparing them, big davie weir stayed with us into his forties and was superb. ?I think balogun if he has signed a new deal, is good news for us and he deserves it imo ? I've always rated and liked the big man ???.

9.) 27 May 2024 15:55:53
Might be left of centre, diomande is always shouting and waving his arms about n telling players where to go, or I just might be mentally disturbed to suggest him 4 captain??.

10.) 27 May 2024 16:00:30
Balogun is staying.

Rangers have someone staying in 1D.

11.) 27 May 2024 16:24:20
Fork ? pmsl.

The big man will be a reliable emergency CB. Realistically no decent CB is coming in as 4th choice so no problem with it. And i don't see a future for king unless he goes out on loan.

12.) 27 May 2024 16:26:22
Leon probably the best central defender we have on ability alone.
Fitness wise is his problem.
Good to have as back up with Souttar
2 new starters needed.

13.) 27 May 2024 16:30:03
Dalogun can't be captain if he's 4th choice but glad he's staying on.

14.) 27 May 2024 16:30:29
I agree that a squad player shouldn’t normally be captain but I look at that squad and other than Butland I really don’t see anyone else.

15.) 27 May 2024 16:32:05
John any idea if it's defender cordoba.

16.) 27 May 2024 16:47:34
I'm chuffed with this guys been a terrific player for us leader on the pitch and off it great news ?.

17.) 27 May 2024 16:57:25
Cordoba is expected medical Mon/ tue so bound to be him in 1D.

18.) 27 May 2024 16:59:16
Yes one walter.

19.) 27 May 2024 17:58:17
As a squad player it makes sense.

20.) 27 May 2024 18:51:34
No brainer Balogun, we've given extensions recently not deserved or earned, this one is.

21.) 27 May 2024 19:30:35
He's the only ooc player that should get a deal, the rest have to go.

22.) 27 May 2024 20:15:08
Delighted for Balogun, low wage and solid as backup. Hopefully, we sign a replacement for Goldson and he goes to Saudi.

23.) 27 May 2024 20:34:10
Can't believe what I'm reading. As good as he's been he was done 2 yrs ago. He's rarely been fully fit for more than a couple of games. It's not like he's Davie Weir who was ever present. Let's give Jack and Roofe a new deal while we're at it.

24.) 27 May 2024 20:59:55
Looks like it could be cordoba if rumours are true John. Might be wrong tho. Could be just internet talk.

25.) 27 May 2024 22:11:33
Happy he’s got an extension good enough to be at least back up. Sterling my choice for Captain though, someone who goes into every challenge BELIEVING he will win and expecting to aswell. Never let's us down and leads by example on the pitch regardless of where he plays.

26.) 28 May 2024 08:20:14
Signing Balagon with his injury history is not what we require, why sign someone who is not expected to play a lot of games, as to King not going to make it so why send out on loan, better to just try and find buyer. why do we think other teams will take some of our players on loan as part of an deal as most on here do not think they are good enough for us, so why would others want them.

27.) 28 May 2024 09:59:43
Difference between good enough for Rangers or Kilmarnock gers58.

03 Nov 2024 08:58:17
One of the clear differences between us and Celtic (apart from ability) is the work rate and desire to attack the other teams goal. Every time they go forward there’s 3,4 or 5 players all busting their backside to get in and around the opposition box and it shows. We get the ball and our team is jogging forward as if they couldn’t care less. We’re lucky to get 1 player in the box when we are on the transition forward never mind a few.

davidb1996

1.) 03 Nov 2024 09:18:09
It's frightening that their front 3 yesterday cost less than Dessers, Matondo and Cortes. Modern day football is about recruitment and since we win the league Rangers recruitment has been atrocious. Bosman signings from the championship have really hurt us. 10 million for Dessers and Danilo is borderline robbery and the garbage we have signed this summer.

2.) 03 Nov 2024 09:40:27
Agreed, we never attack in numbers, a ball is crossed in and it's only Dessers in the middle, if we're lucky.

3.) 03 Nov 2024 09:47:55
The recruitment has stuffed us, collectively between different football advisors and managers they have failed to recruit good players that also suit the Scottish league.

4.) 03 Nov 2024 09:51:34
Celtic always have pace in their team as well. We have no pace. It really hurts. You can't push forward and play as high in case you get caught and no ones quick enough to track back.

5.) 03 Nov 2024 10:29:34
I said yesterday that should actually go and watch players instead of looking at stats. You learn a lot more about character and mentality and whether or not they'd be suited to our league.

Not sure how true this is but I read on here that Cifuentes couldn't adapt due to the climate here. Didn't anyone meet with him and tell him that its cold, wet and windy? I also read that we need to let players settle, to a certain extent I agree. If we went to scout players in person and get to know their mentality and character then we would identify who might not settle. Its very obvious that something is very wrong with way we recruit. Time after time we over pay for players who don't have the mentality or ability to play for us.

6.) 03 Nov 2024 12:46:53
Funny story on that one, my dads a taxi driver in the Clydebank East Dumbartonshire area, he got a hire to pick up a woman in Bishopbriggs area and take her to the stadium, it’s was Cifuentes wife and she came out the house dressed for Siberia with big coat, hat and scarve, think it was late August or September, fish out of water was the phrase my daughter used, he also moaned that he never got a tip!

7.) 03 Nov 2024 13:39:09
The biggest difference between us and them is talent and depth of squad . When they sign players they can give them time to settle and make them fight for their place. Kuhn is having a good season but he didn`t play regularly at first last season. Palma was hailed as a great signing that we missed out on but now he can`t get a start and Idah has cost them £ 8million and he is second choice.
Its all about the depth that having money allows you although I do agree that the money we have wasted since the Gerrard years has been disgraceful by 3 different managers and 2 DOFs . The Bosman signings from England have been a mixed bag but that's what you would expect some bargains, some mistakes.

8.) 03 Nov 2024 14:01:23
That's what mean Rosevale. Had we done our scouting properly and sussed out Cifu's character and mentality we would have learned that he wouldn't adapt and we would have saved ourselves a hassle and some money.

20 Oct 2024 20:42:03
Just seen a stat on FF that after 4 games we are LAST in goals scored away from home with 1 goal in the league. Not sure if worst in the league is true but 1 goal in 4 games away from home is absolutely abysmal.

davidb1996

1.) 20 Oct 2024 22:14:18
True we have scored the least goals in away matches.

18 Oct 2024 10:20:48
For me Ryan Kent on a free is a yes all day. The only question that we should really be asking is if he’s better than what we have in that position and the answer is yes. Matondo and Cortes can’t stay fit for 2 games on the bounce and Mccausland is better on the right and generally tends to impact games more when brought on as a sub. Bajrami has been good on the left but I’d prefer to see him in the middle. Kent gives us something that we don’t have either which is a ball carrier and someone who can dribble past a man. I think under Clement’s more direct approach it would suit Kent more.

davidb1996

1.) 18 Oct 2024 10:39:24
I agree he gives us a lack of effort and commitment which we’re lacking in the wide positions. We also get the added bonus of a lack of goals, assists and in general quality. We do have that in abundance in the wide positions.

2.) 18 Oct 2024 11:47:55
Aye, Dado, but he is great at assisting the assist. ?.

3.) 18 Oct 2024 11:53:46
Kent can't perform for 2 games on the bounce ??‍♂️.

4.) 18 Oct 2024 14:40:48
Assisting the assist, one of the worst arguments created on here ?.

5.) 18 Oct 2024 15:27:43
Mph who was it that came up with assist the assist? Digging deep to prove a point that one.

17 Oct 2024 21:48:39
Ryan Kent’s released from Fenerbahce. Will be linked to us no doubt. Would anyone have him back? For me he’s better than what we have in that area but was very poor in the latter stages of his rangers career and clearly hasn’t kicked on. On a free I’d take him on a year and a half deal with the option of another. He turned up in the big games and gives us a proper ball carrier which I think we lack atm. Can imagine that’s not a popular opinion though don’t think most would take him back.

davidb1996

1.) 17 Oct 2024 22:07:37
No, the reason, football isn't a top priority for Kent now.

2.) 17 Oct 2024 22:14:56
I would concur on all you said. worth it for a free and yes he is a ball player unlike what we have. ain't happening though.

3.) 17 Oct 2024 22:22:11
Available on a free 100%. Quite a few palyers over the years have left and came back to have a second succesful career with us.

4.) 17 Oct 2024 22:22:14
On his game he's good, but when was the last time he was on his game, was he even trying in the end? Just not worth the risk, 50-50 but then again? no idea tbf.

5.) 17 Oct 2024 22:24:39
David, I think that Bajrami is better (and younger) even if that isn't his best position. Kent was great in handful of games but drifted in and out of many others. wages would probably be an issue and as their is no host club to meet the difference it would be down to us and we are trying to cut wage bill. don't see it happening but it is football who knows?

6.) 17 Oct 2024 22:33:37
He had his moments but overall was disappointing especially the last couple of seasons. mcausland gives more effort and probably has similar stats of 2 goals and 1 assist in 12 games this season.

7.) 17 Oct 2024 22:49:32
100% he improves us down the left and it’s a no brainier. If it’s a goer then get it done.
Also wouldn’t surprise me if Brenda shows an interest.

8.) 17 Oct 2024 22:53:33
Not this again he's rubbish Not good enough simple.

9.) 17 Oct 2024 23:28:41
He'd have to be on a fraction of what we were paying him back then and admit that this is his sort of level, something I don't think his ego could handle.

10.) 17 Oct 2024 23:31:47
Released on a free because he's garbage and has a rubbish attitude. Good riddance.

11.) 18 Oct 2024 00:10:58
This is the next saviour we will hear this non stop for the next 3 months till he signs for Blackburn rovers or some Saudi team. Good player when he wanted to be which was very rarely and from my understanding he couldn’t wait to leave us remember how he left? Kent will be one of those guys who’s either retired or playing national league by the time he’s 31/ 32 not down to ability but down to mindset.

12.) 18 Oct 2024 00:17:06
Would take him on a free but no where near the wages he was on at us at 15k/ 20k a week yes not the rumours 35k he was on.

13.) 18 Oct 2024 04:54:59
Scotty123, aye ??.

14.) 18 Oct 2024 04:55:01
Let’s bring Alfredo back as well.

15.) 18 Oct 2024 05:28:23
On the fence with this one. a deal until summer wouldn't be so bad.

16.) 18 Oct 2024 07:40:02
Sorry lads but its a major step back if we return for RK - so its a big NO from me!

17.) 18 Oct 2024 07:43:43
Big Dado. no-one can sign him until the summer as he was registered with a team during the registration period. Ed confirms that in thread above.

18.) 18 Oct 2024 08:46:39
why on earth would we, he couldn't wait to get out, apart from that would breach everything we are trying to do now ie improve our player trading model buying young and on the cheap. he would be a burden to us with no sell on. would rather see Jefte further up the field. i am really surprised that over 50% would want him back, mind blowing.

19.) 18 Oct 2024 09:18:45
Problem is, hypothetically, give him a 6 month deal from January, tries his heart out to win a deal, extends to a new 1yr deal, then falls back to being indifferent, think I'm leaning to no, to much of a risk to possibly end up with excess baggage.

20.) 18 Oct 2024 10:16:14
Fork, Ryan Kent has falling out of love with the game mate, that can be my only answer.

21.) 18 Oct 2024 10:43:04
Aye Star tend to agree mate?.

22.) 18 Oct 2024 12:18:40
You're right Star, Ryan Kent's main love is the horses he owns, certainly not football anymore.

23.) 18 Oct 2024 12:24:24
Not good enough for this current Rangers side, you are having a laugh. He gets slagged off on here but was miles better than any of the current Rangers wingers. He has performances in Europe and against the other mob that the current players can only dream about.
Whether you want him back or not is another question but he would be first pick above the 5 we have now with only Bajrami looking anything like as good as Kent was and he, apparently, is a No 10.

24.) 18 Oct 2024 13:00:44
Not enough drive or determination/ desire linked to mucho cash in the bank sums him up perfectly- he should go to Saudi asap and never darken our door imho ?.

25.) 18 Oct 2024 17:12:41
Angus kent can sign and play for anyone from 1 January,

Bristol city in for him according to a players Instagram.

26.) 18 Oct 2024 19:41:28
Wsl i agree.

27.) 18 Oct 2024 19:59:54
A few points on Ryan Kent.
He was nearly always available which unfortunately Matundo and Cortes aren’t.
He was particularly good in the bigger games especially away from home in Europe and more often than not against that mob.

He used to be a starter regardless of perfomance maybe coming back with a point to prove and having to fight for a start will improve his performances.
There no doubt his ability when he’s on a going day and biggest issue has been consistency but if the terms were right I’d like to see him back.

Does anyone know when the Bucharest individual tickets go on sale? I can’t make the game so am giving away my ticket to a mate and he’s going to try get one nearby for his son. Hope it’s not as late as the Lyon one was but given the 4 match packages will have been sold there’s no reason for it to be as late.

Also think they won’t pull the trigger until after the league cup final as bringing a new manager in for that week would likely send them into 2 pumpings within a couple weeks of joining the club.

He’ll get until the league cup final imo and then that’ll be that when we inevitably gets battered. Spurs during the week that week as well so I’m not looking forward to it could easily be on the receiving end of 2 pumpings.

Spot on bazbear. The short termism is what has led to us being in this mess. Look at the level of recruitment Koppen had at PSV and how it worked out for them. Diomande Barron Igamane Cortes Jefte all are young talented players who will be main stays in our team for a couple of years. We are building the core of a squad that’s going to get better let’s all just get behind it and make life easier for everyone than sit and moan at everything.

We’re in debt to our owners, what exactly is going to be the reason for us going into financial trouble? We just spent £4m on a player 3 weeks ago.

Tell you what no matter the outcome of this season and no matter how frustrated I am at the way things turn out I will be there if Tav does have a testimonial because he deserves the appreciation from the fans and I for one am grateful for the service he’s given our club. It’s not his fault he was surrounded by dross for the first few years of his rangers career and also not his fault we’ve never bought adequate backup who can give him a chance to rest instead of just running him into the ground repeatedly. Don’t care what people say he is a player that I will always look fondly upon for the commitment and quality he has given to our club.

McGregor was treated like a legend and given far more leverage in his final year when he was miles off it and gave away numerous goals which cost us loads of points. Let’s not forget he also disappeared for nothing when we were in our darkest time. How about we get off Tavs back and give him some support and encouragement then maybe he’ll repay us for the umpteenth time.

Think it’s a bit of both, I don’t think our problems solely lie on the manager but there’s no doubt we should be seeing more than we are. He’s in a tough position where the players look totally shot of confidence but our performances so far this season have been dreadful.

Do well to shift any of those in January.

There’s something there but he’s not showing it. I do think he’s being played in the wrong position but he absolutely should be showing so much more than he is.

To be fair to tav and goldson there was always far worse than them in the team when we fell short. Particularly in Tav’s case up until this year.

Tbf Lovelace has 3 hamstring tears at 18 or 19 so I wouldn’t say other people are fragile when trying to bring him in.
