ESPN reporter saying we’ve agreed a deal with Hannibal on personal terms. No mention of a deal between the clubs but given we’ve been allowed to speak to the player you’d assume both clubs expect it to be possible.

davidb1996

1.) 31 Jul 2024 09:56:55
David, Sounds positive. Would this be a loan deal?

2.) 31 Jul 2024 09:58:42
Purchase.

3.) 31 Jul 2024 11:31:48
Nothing on ESPN site with reference to Hannibal.

Reliable source in Norwich when asked about McLean to us said there’s no chance as they see him as an important player and we won’t meet the fee.

davidb1996

1.) 12 Jun 2024 13:36:09
Good.

2.) 12 Jun 2024 14:11:54
Phew!

3.) 12 Jun 2024 14:13:54
Of all the folk we’ve been linked with this one is the one I hope to be true more than anything.

4.) 12 Jun 2024 14:14:45
Ideal! Too old.

5.) 12 Jun 2024 14:20:49
Agreed. McLean won't improve us and if Barron is a possible signing then that's a better option on and off the field. The kid should improve in a Rangers environment however, i to believe we need Garcia done and dusted asap, break the bank and get him in for the qualifiers.

6.) 12 Jun 2024 14:22:34
Could the Mclean rumour just have been people mixing him up with Barron? As Mclean doesn't seem to fit the kinda player that PC and NK have been looking at. i'm still shocked PC hasn't signed anyone he has previously worked with I heard a strong rumble a while back he was determined to bring someone he knew and trusted in.

7.) 12 Jun 2024 15:05:28
I’ve no problem with a 1 or two year place holder in McLean being a rangers supporter will give his all but if there’s a large fee involved then no way should we sign him.

8.) 12 Jun 2024 15:28:19
“The kid should improve in a Rangers environment however” - Really? Do many young players improve and develop at Rangers?

Aberdeen probably have a better record of brining through and developing youth than Rangers do. I just hope Barron comes here, can get a game, and does not stagnate or go backwards like so many others.

9.) 12 Jun 2024 15:38:13
Dado he’s absolutely mediocre at best.

10.) 12 Jun 2024 16:28:46
“I’ve no problem with a 1 or two year place holder” - It never works out that way. Rangers bring in a guy to do a job in the short-term. If that older player does a job in the short-term Rangers just keep handing out one year deals and kicking the can down the road. Then one day, we find ourselves having to replace most of an aging squad.

Weir was kept one year too long. McGregor was kept one year too long. Same for Jack. I have no doubt in my mind that we just made the same mistake with Balogun.

These people are never temporary. We keep them until they decline, they became finished, and then they retire.

11.) 12 Jun 2024 16:57:59
I can see the logic in signing someone like McLean, as we need some more established professionals to help the young team bed in, and he's a rangers man. But can't see it happening for us given his wages / the fee that would be required.

12.) 12 Jun 2024 17:10:43
Rather have Barron as long as he’s played regularly.

13.) 12 Jun 2024 18:12:46
I can also see the logic in signing an experienced player to level out the young players being signed but I maybe somewhere along the age bracket of 27/ 28 should be experienced enough.

11 Jun 2024 13:04:48
Rrahmani now follows a cafe in Glasgow that some of the other players follow. The absolute pinnacle of rumour posts you are all welcome! All joking aside this is one that I’d be excited about.

davidb1996

1.) 11 jun 2024 13:58:14
david, let’s not forget, every single year we are to be excited by all of the signings, star had at least 5 down as superstars, we came second again,

we hopefully will find those two players who take us up from second.

2.) 11 Jun 2024 14:08:45
I mean this time last season I’m fairly sure I said I’d rather sign the best players in leagues similar to ours than the worst players in the better leagues. Lammers and Dessers didn’t have great goal records whereas this guy does. Not saying he’ll be a world beater but this is the type of player we should be going for imo.

3.) 11 jun 2024 14:27:49
yes, absolutely dave, we took a few cheaper options

you can talk about desserts 20 odd goals all day, that nearly 40 games and he was absolutely awful as a football player, lammers was a far bettter footballer but doesn’t have the bottle fir here, but i agree never given an opportunity to play as a lone striker, it’s time now to pay for winners, not guys nobody wants and don’t come close to international teams, we need international competitors who are ready to spill blood to succeed, not guys happy to pick up 30k a week and score against dundee or st johnston.

4.) 11 Jun 2024 15:43:12
Agreed Tom neither have what we need going forward.

27 May 2024 14:46:48
Balogun has apparently signed an extension. Not against it whatsoever, low wages, and a good backup. Also a good leader in the dressing room and if Tav and Goldson both do leave would be one of the main candidates to step up as captain.

davidb1996

1.) 27 May 2024 15:06:18
Have to agree with most of that, although he's a leader and great guy around the place I don’t see him being captain as he won’t be in the 11 all the time. He can maintain the levels of Saturday over a long period of games and unfair to expect him to.

Deserves the deal and great option when fit. First choice CB required though.

2.) 27 May 2024 15:06:32
Excellent news if true.

3.) 27 May 2024 15:22:15
Great news. Need players with his experience and leadership to help the younger generation push through ??.

4.) 27 May 2024 15:23:28
Happy with that. Never let's us down. Just wish he was younger.

5.) 27 May 2024 15:27:32
No brainer for me. A reliable deputy for next season as and when we need him.

6.) 27 May 2024 15:37:23
As long as it’s back up and back up only as we can’t get rid of everyone in the one go.
Captain? Why would we give a back up player the captaincy? Just naw.

7.) 27 May 2024 15:45:50
Won't be playing enough games to be captain.

8.) 27 May 2024 15:53:47
I have absolutely no problem whatsoever, if indeed big leon balogun has signed a new 1 year deal to stay with us for another season ?I said at the time gio should have kept him and was happy when he returned under beale, as he should have never have been away in the first place. ?

He very rarely let's you down and is a good centre half and although not an automatic starter, i think he's fantastic to have as part of our first team squad as he adds terrific experience and still the fastest centre half at ibrox. ?

Although not comparing them, big davie weir stayed with us into his forties and was superb. ?I think balogun if he has signed a new deal, is good news for us and he deserves it imo ? I've always rated and liked the big man ???.

9.) 27 May 2024 15:55:53
Might be left of centre, diomande is always shouting and waving his arms about n telling players where to go, or I just might be mentally disturbed to suggest him 4 captain??.

10.) 27 May 2024 16:00:30
Balogun is staying.

Rangers have someone staying in 1D.

11.) 27 May 2024 16:24:20
Fork ? pmsl.

The big man will be a reliable emergency CB. Realistically no decent CB is coming in as 4th choice so no problem with it. And i don't see a future for king unless he goes out on loan.

12.) 27 May 2024 16:26:22
Leon probably the best central defender we have on ability alone.
Fitness wise is his problem.
Good to have as back up with Souttar
2 new starters needed.

13.) 27 May 2024 16:30:03
Dalogun can't be captain if he's 4th choice but glad he's staying on.

14.) 27 May 2024 16:30:29
I agree that a squad player shouldn’t normally be captain but I look at that squad and other than Butland I really don’t see anyone else.

15.) 27 May 2024 16:32:05
John any idea if it's defender cordoba.

16.) 27 May 2024 16:47:34
I'm chuffed with this guys been a terrific player for us leader on the pitch and off it great news ?.

17.) 27 May 2024 16:57:25
Cordoba is expected medical Mon/ tue so bound to be him in 1D.

18.) 27 May 2024 16:59:16
Yes one walter.

19.) 27 May 2024 17:58:17
As a squad player it makes sense.

20.) 27 May 2024 18:51:34
No brainer Balogun, we've given extensions recently not deserved or earned, this one is.

21.) 27 May 2024 19:30:35
He's the only ooc player that should get a deal, the rest have to go.

22.) 27 May 2024 20:15:08
Delighted for Balogun, low wage and solid as backup. Hopefully, we sign a replacement for Goldson and he goes to Saudi.

23.) 27 May 2024 20:34:10
Can't believe what I'm reading. As good as he's been he was done 2 yrs ago. He's rarely been fully fit for more than a couple of games. It's not like he's Davie Weir who was ever present. Let's give Jack and Roofe a new deal while we're at it.

24.) 27 May 2024 20:59:55
Looks like it could be cordoba if rumours are true John. Might be wrong tho. Could be just internet talk.

25.) 27 May 2024 22:11:33
Happy he’s got an extension good enough to be at least back up. Sterling my choice for Captain though, someone who goes into every challenge BELIEVING he will win and expecting to aswell. Never let's us down and leads by example on the pitch regardless of where he plays.

26.) 28 May 2024 08:20:14
Signing Balagon with his injury history is not what we require, why sign someone who is not expected to play a lot of games, as to King not going to make it so why send out on loan, better to just try and find buyer. why do we think other teams will take some of our players on loan as part of an deal as most on here do not think they are good enough for us, so why would others want them.

27.) 28 May 2024 09:59:43
Difference between good enough for Rangers or Kilmarnock gers58.

15 May 2024 19:41:37
Apparently the owner of the club Jefte is at has said they're going to trigger the option to buy him. If we do want him and he has ambitions then surely he turns them down. If not then he wasn’t right for the club anyway.

davidb1996

1.) 15 May 2024 22:18:45
No contest if it came to us or them. If we still want him.

2.) 16 May 2024 05:26:27
Has the transfer embargo been lifted? I thought that was the issue they couldn’t sign him even if they wanted to.

3.) 16 May 2024 07:10:40
Not sure tbh it’s actually quite hard to find anywhere reporting it. Was Derek on the rangers review who’s put a video up saying it.

4.) 16 May 2024 10:01:28
Some guy from Cyprus has stated this on twitter can’t remember his name but apparently knows everything about football over there.

5.) 16 May 2024 20:16:09
We could blow them out the water wages wise I reckon we would pay 2/ 3 times the wages.

Wonder if we’ll get to see more of Igamane at the weekend. Looked sharp when he came on against Celtic although the game was obviously already done. With Matondo out injured and Cortes just coming back from injury he may have an outside chance of starting.

davidb1996

1.) 11 Sep 2024 14:27:08
He’s a better option on the left than wee Ross or Lawrence, only other decent option is Jefte with either Fraser, Sterling or the new boy at left back.

2.) 11 Sep 2024 14:27:53
His first involvement was to drive forward, I liked what I seen. I think he'll be a good player for us. Morroco is in its sorta golden generation right now and he'll be desperate to become a part of that.

3.) 11 Sep 2024 15:00:02
Playing our new signings.? you sound ridiculous! this is Rangers after all.

4.) 11 Sep 2024 15:12:26
PC has had 2 weeks to think about this, and hopefully utilise some or most of his recent signings, if not, what's the point?

5.) 11 Sep 2024 15:29:29
I like the look of him, he drives forward, has no fear.

6.) 11 Sep 2024 15:48:43
I think we'll see him from the bench again.

7.) 11 Sep 2024 16:13:07
Id agreed EHL. whilst he looked good for the 10 minutes we saw of him I think giving him minutes to get him up to speed of Scottish league is probably what will happen. hopefully he continues to show he is the business.

8.) 11 Sep 2024 16:49:15
This weekend is a must win game, no doubt in my mind about that, we cannot afford to drop any more points before they visit Ibrox, so PC has a difficult decision to make, but he's paid very well to make those decisions.

9.) 11 Sep 2024 16:53:19
I don’t want this guy judged by playing him off the left etc if he’s better than Dessers he will have the position soon enough.

10.) 11 Sep 2024 16:53:44
up to speed with Scottish league?

its hardly played at speed. especially for us.

Get him on the pitch so he can watch the ball be passed from Butland to Souttar to Tav, to Souttar to Propper/ Balogun to Yilmaz/ Jefte and then back to Butland or maybe Propper. Barron could then get a touch and then back to a defender.

11.) 11 Sep 2024 17:59:26
Want to see him used in the centre, a think the defenders will know they have been in a game against him, Morelos with a better strike rate and a cooler head would be a nice, probably get the last 15 mins then a start in the cup, lot of games coming up.

12.) 11 Sep 2024 18:19:22
We need to work out how to beat Celtic, that is where the league is won and lost.

13.) 11 Sep 2024 18:31:57
How can you say he`s a better option than McCausland and Fraser based on seeing him for 10 minutes . McCausland was our best forward during the 45 minutes he was on at the piggery. I hope Igamane is good but let's play him as striker his proper position. If we play Jefte and Fraser, I think we might see Robbie as the winger with Jefte behind him.

14.) 11 Sep 2024 19:08:19
Disagree mark as they will win league by more than 12 points this year.

03 Sep 2024 12:23:13
Now the dust has settled I do still think we’re heading in the right direction under PC. Let’s keep in mind we all wanted the likes of Lundstram Goldson etc. to go and it’s not PC’s fault we don’t have the money to replace them. We’ve brought in a lot of young players who all have something about them from what we’ve seen so far. There were always going to be inconsistencies with such a massive squad overhaul and we’ve got to keep the faith that the short term pain will lead to long term benefit. The performance at the weekend was brutal and I’m not forgetting that but if we’re being realistic we were nowhere near ready for a game like that so early into the new season. Unless we get them in the cup we don’t play them again til Jan so let’s build up some momentum and see where we are come then. Winning the league cup would help the pressure on Clement significantly but we will need to see how that plays out.

davidb1996

1.) 03 Sep 2024 12:36:58
Bizarre Clement is clueless! He has played Tav at right back many times at the piggery and he constantly gets rinsed every game.

2.) 03 Sep 2024 12:51:12
Who are you playing in front of him? Your answer will probably be Sterling which I then say if Lawrence played in midfield and nobody got near Callum McGregor you’d probably moan that Lawrence was starting.

3.) 03 Sep 2024 12:51:49
KLRFC and your proposed RB would be? Tav needs to go I agree but needs replaced first.

4.) 03 Sep 2024 12:53:34
David your deluded mate sorry.

5.) 03 Sep 2024 13:08:35
Nice structured comeback to prove me wrong AS. I’m deluded based on what?

6.) 03 Sep 2024 13:16:44
This week ends game v them ends the Sterling in midfield against them debate, he was poor and should be our RB from now on or converted to CB permanently.

Tav has to be removed from our 11 it’s going to get really toxic like we have previously been saying when this continues to happen…it will end in PC position with the support being untenable over a RB.

7.) 03 Sep 2024 13:21:16
Anybody with some skill and pace! H you simply cannot have a right back ( Captain ?) Wandering around the pitch pointing fingers when he is mainly at fault.

8.) 03 Sep 2024 13:34:23
As always the way to win an argument using personal criticism. David gives an opinion which is different from yours but he is allowed to have it. Personally as a fan I hope he is right and come January will wait for your apology but won't hold my breath. ?.

9.) 03 Sep 2024 19:12:41
Clement taking us in the right direction based on what? If this continues PC will be lucky to see out September let alone January!

30 Aug 2024 10:27:46
Really looking forward to the draw today. Potential for some great fixtures in there and looking at the group of teams I fancy us to have another wee run in the europa. A couple of the big boys take each other out and you never know we might get a nice run in.

davidb1996

1.) 30 Aug 2024 12:37:31
We got some crackers!

30 Aug 2024 07:36:57
I know there’s a lot of frustration but is anyone else actually quite excited for today? I think we’ll see a couple of faces come in by the deadline and I’m looking forward to see who. I have a sneaky feeling we may see 3 in today. Will be an action packed day none the less and should be good fun.

davidb1996

1.) 30 Aug 2024 07:42:21
If I’m honest, and I’m not part of the ‘seasons done already brigade’ but I hope we ensure the squad size and cost is where we need it to be. Even if that’s letting a few go we need out and replacing with loans this year. Don’t want this carrying on for any more windows that it already has to.

2.) 30 Aug 2024 08:00:06
David 3 will definitely be signed am hoping for one more mate.

3.) 30 Aug 2024 08:07:15
Sollof I agree I was much more concerned this window on getting people out than people in. Removing Lundstram Barasic Roofe Jack Goldson Cantwell Davies McLaughlin Wright and potentially Hagi must’ve cut our wage bill massively. We wanted a rebuild and that’s what we’re getting. Some fans need to keep the faith a bit because at the end of the day we could’ve won the league last year without beating them once and the fact they’ve now sold O’Riley I can see them being worse than last season. We just need to blast away that feel good factor at the weekend and you know what will hit the fan.

4.) 30 Aug 2024 08:40:51
My Star, you think as many as 3 today? Seems a lot. Any leaving?

5.) 30 Aug 2024 08:57:08
Mark, yes mate, Wright Cantwell Hagi will leave today.

27 Aug 2024 09:17:51
Starting 11 for me at the weekend if all fit. Tav isn’t ideal against Maeda but winning the battle in middle of the park is far more important for me hence why Sterling is there. Even if we sign a couple this week I can’t see them being thrown in the deep end.

Butland
Tav
Balogun
Propper
Jefte
Barron
Sterling
Diomande
Cerny
Matondo
Dessers.

davidb1996

1.) 27 Aug 2024 09:26:12
David you're Dropping John Soutter our best cb this season, glad you get nowhere near the team mate.

2.) 27 Aug 2024 09:30:24
I might be wrong but I think Sterling will play left back with Jefte at left wing.

I’m not sure why he finished the game at left back on Saturday with Fraser playing right back?

I got the impression it was with Sundays game in mind however, I could be way off.

3.) 27 Aug 2024 09:30:30
My starting 11 against them on sunday would be -
Butland
Tav
Souttar
Propper
Jefte
Barron
Sterling
Diomande
Cerny
Dessers
Matondo
?.

4.) 27 Aug 2024 09:35:08
Pretty much the starting team I think.

5.) 27 Aug 2024 09:55:37
Funny feeling Tav will play CM just by the way we finished the game on Saturday.

Butland
Balogun Souttar Propper Sterling
Tav Barron Dio
Cerny Dessers Jefte

Hopefully 4 new signings by the weekend and we'll have a stronger line up.

6.) 27 Aug 2024 10:02:21
Anyone saying that Tav won't start is well wide of the mark. He will 100% be starting the game.

7.) 27 Aug 2024 10:04:20
Tav can't cope with their pace. Sterling should start at RB.

8.) 27 Aug 2024 10:11:30
Sws, I think your team is spot on mate.

9.) 27 Aug 2024 10:30:05
I just don't see how Lawrence will be dropped after Saturday, I think it will be same as Saturday in forward areas be very surprised to see a change.

10.) 27 Aug 2024 10:32:52
SWS - that's the team I think Clement will go for although Tav against Maedea gives me the fear.

11.) 27 Aug 2024 10:37:28
SirStuth, that gives us all fear, even the man himself.

12.) 27 Aug 2024 10:56:17
Jefte played from the back because he is faster than Fraser so allows that overlap when counter attacking. that's my thought on it anways.

13.) 27 Aug 2024 11:47:00
Correct I’m dropping Souttar he’s an accident waiting to happen and always will be.

14.) 27 Aug 2024 12:03:55
Souttar the best centre back! Ma sides Mystar!

15.) 27 Aug 2024 12:15:23
David - the constant accident in our team vs them will be Tavernier without a shadow of a doubt?.

16.) 27 Aug 2024 12:43:43
Dado, Sterling payed left centre back on Saturday after Balogun went off, obviously preferred option to King off the bench and Fraser came on at right wing not right back . That was a strange one but just think Clement was experimenting and was trying to keep the shape the same with inverted wingers.

17.) 27 Aug 2024 13:01:28
Butland,
Sterling, Souttar, Propper, Balogun,
Lawerence, Barron, Dio,
Cerny, Dessers, Matando.

The reason I don’t have Tav in the first 11, Is we need to change things against them and Tav is our weakest link Unfortunately at right back, He hasn’t got the legs for midfield either for a full 90.

Matando and Cerny to run at the defence to tire them out, Replace with either Jefte Danilo Wright Tav Hopefully we’re 2 up by the time we have to make changes, We must not let them come out the traps quickly, 15 minutes is usually the settling in time and we need to hunt them down like a pack of hyenas and don’t give them a minute on the ball, c'mon the Teddy Bears. ?????????.

18.) 27 Aug 2024 13:08:10
Our best cb easily this season deboer, howling at you thinking different man.

19.) 27 Aug 2024 13:40:24
Sounds like a plan cunny. with you pal ????.

20.) 27 Aug 2024 13:59:41
Souttar has definately not been our best cb, although it wouldn't be hard to be the best cb as we lack serious quality in that department.

I would also be tempted to play Matondo just for the threat of his pace.

I don't think Lawerence brings enough energy for the midfield battle.

Tell you what no matter the outcome of this season and no matter how frustrated I am at the way things turn out I will be there if Tav does have a testimonial because he deserves the appreciation from the fans and I for one am grateful for the service he’s given our club. It’s not his fault he was surrounded by dross for the first few years of his rangers career and also not his fault we’ve never bought adequate backup who can give him a chance to rest instead of just running him into the ground repeatedly. Don’t care what people say he is a player that I will always look fondly upon for the commitment and quality he has given to our club.

McGregor was treated like a legend and given far more leverage in his final year when he was miles off it and gave away numerous goals which cost us loads of points. Let’s not forget he also disappeared for nothing when we were in our darkest time. How about we get off Tavs back and give him some support and encouragement then maybe he’ll repay us for the umpteenth time.

I don’t believe that at all and the level of the current witch hunt for a player who’s given 9 years of his best service is quite frankly disgusting to me. Tav’s legs are starting to fail him but name me one player who’s played 60+ games for the past few years who’s hasn’t.

He’s been our best player for years and has never hid which he should be commended for not berated because he’s captain of a failing team. He’s been struggling since the start of the year and needs taken out the team at least for a break but the abuse he’s getting is bang out of order at the moment.

I’d like to see an experienced midfielder come in if possible but the names I’m about to list are probably outwith our reach and tbh I couldn’t see any of them happening. Grzegorz Krychowiak is a free agent although he’s been at PSG and in Saudi so god knows what his wage demands would be.

Kouyate who was at West Ham for years is also available. Praet is another experienced player who’s played in the prem Serie A and UCL. Andre Gomez from Barcelona and Everton would also be an option although I think he may be injury prone. Then there’s also the likes of Davy Klassen who’s won the Eredivise 5 times.

I know this forum is open to all rumours but I believe almost none of that and it sounds like a load of rubbish.

First thing if Lawrence gets a new 2 year deal I will write a personal apology to you. There’s absolutely no chance he gets that when his legs have clearly gone and we’ve just bought someone who’s going to be the main starter.

Clement publicly stated if the right offer comes in for any player except Butland then they can go and also when asked specifically about Dessers he said it was up to the player whether to stay or not. There’s also nothing to say the 2 mentioned are better than him.

Lundstram I’d maybe believe Clement wanted to keep but Barisic no chance.

If Raskin and Cantwell both fell out with him then why would Cantwell continue to be a main stay in the team and Raskin be dropped? Also why would Clement publicly say that he asked Cantwell twice to reconsider and to stay.

If Clement had 0 tactical training then why would the players at the beginning all come out and say his message is clear about exactly what he wants them to do? Then if Lawrence and Mccausland were the favourites you state them to be how come neither started in the biggest game of the season so far?

Then you say he’s spent a fortune would you care to inform everyone on who? Because it looks to all of us he wasn’t backed by the board and spent very little in comparison to what was required.

My general rule of thumb is that if a report links both of us to the same player then it’s a load of rubbish.

I think Diomande needs an experienced midfielder next to him and Cortes needs to stay fit for more then a few weeks at the time.

100% storm there’s no doubt about it but he still had levels of money that Clement didn’t. I distinctly remember Celtic fans banging on about how good the football was from early on despite the results not being great and if you look at the team he had to begin with it’s no better than what we have now.

Cerny was poor at the weekend but Kent also had many poor games in his time so to judge Cerny after about 4 games is unfair. Let’s also not forget that Cerny was out there on his own and pretty much always had 2 guys closing him down where he had nowhere to go. Kent was good in those situations and something I think was overlooked at the time. Him and buff were terrible in their last year no doubt about it but if they were at it Kent would rip Johnston a new backside and Buff would send Scales back to Ireland.

Can’t really comment about O’Neill or Jansen but Rodgers took over when they were still miles ahead of us so don’t really think that’s comparable.

Ange is the one really but he spent a good chunk of money to get the team to where it needed to be. The one standout from ange was that from minute 1 they had an identity and it took him 2 windows to get the players to fit that identity then they never looked back. Clement’s team doesn’t have an identity which is a big concern considering he’s been here for a good part of a year now. I can accept a rebuild and things will take time but we need to see signs of progress to remain on board with it.

Maybe not but Matondo certainly is worse than Kent. People can diss his goal contributions but his ball carrying and work rate were excellent and something that we’ve not replaced. Nobody can tell me we wouldn’t be a better team with Kent in it.
