Looks like Hagi back training with the first team.

davidb1996

1.) 01 Oct 2024 15:46:31
This has made my day. The boy is an absolute professional and he loves the club. I hope he gets some chances to show what he can do.
Despite some posters' opinions (I know we cannot agree on everything :), it is not about thew money, but the love for the beautiful game.

2.) 01 Oct 2024 16:07:14
Not before time, class player.

3.) 01 Oct 2024 16:11:47
Seems to be resolved.

4.) 01 Oct 2024 16:13:50
Yes Hagi himself has now confirmed it.

5.) 01 Oct 2024 17:08:04
At last. Hope finally sorted situation. Whether or not u rate him Whole things been a nonsense. Personally think he's better than any of those playing just now. Hopefully in the team after the break and has a couple of months to prove himself to PC or win a move in Jan and get us some money.

6.) 01 Oct 2024 17:09:07
seems to be davidb as he is also listed in the 1st team squad on the website. Dujon also signed a contract extension.

7.) 01 Oct 2024 17:13:48
Confirmed by club.

8.) 01 Oct 2024 17:33:06
As far as I’m concerned great addition. On Sunday we ended up with three right backs playing in the second half…. Tav, Sterling and Kasanwirjo. Two ended up in midfield, shows how short we are in that area.

9.) 01 Oct 2024 18:11:28
Glad this seems to have been resolved. let's hope when he gets his chance he grabs it with both hands.

10.) 01 Oct 2024 18:21:13
Good option to have in the squad. Attacking minded and creativity in which we desperately need in this squad. Hopefully he can kick on and get some game time under PC.

11.) 01 Oct 2024 18:42:51
Great news about time too.

12.) 01 Oct 2024 20:49:44
So we can afford extra money if he plays?

13.) 01 Oct 2024 20:55:44
I hope the boy does well now back in the fold but let’s not tell lies he doesn’t love the club he wanted away in the summer and got no real offers he was willing to take.

14.) 01 Oct 2024 21:06:41
Hagi will have a lot to prove if he's ever going to do anything in the game, but a poster was right we did have two rb's in midfield, probably better if he was on the bench, in my opinion Hagi should never be a starter, he'll need to impress me a lot to think different.

15.) 01 Oct 2024 22:30:07
Hagi will get sold in a year tbf don’t see the boy signing a new contract only has a year and a half left on his deal.

16.) 01 Oct 2024 22:58:16
Why not my star he’s just as good as Lawerence.

17.) 02 Oct 2024 00:10:39
G4 he has a lot to prove to me mate, he's had a few good games out of how many 99?not good enough, hope he proves me wrong though.

18.) 02 Oct 2024 09:22:14
I'd like to see him kick on and make us some coin now.

19.) 02 Oct 2024 11:05:50
Think Hagi playing for the one spot in the no 10, struggled in the wide positions before, not saying he can’t play there against some of the guff in the league but a just think some think he is something he’s not, would love to be proved wrong and he smashes it.

20.) 02 Oct 2024 13:18:04
Wilkins they have reached agreement over the clause; I think he has dropped the claim but not sure.

21.) 02 Oct 2024 17:57:19
Any truth that some senior players backed hagi and that's why PC has changed his mind?

31 Jul 2024 09:30:04
ESPN reporter saying we’ve agreed a deal with Hannibal on personal terms. No mention of a deal between the clubs but given we’ve been allowed to speak to the player you’d assume both clubs expect it to be possible.

davidb1996

1.) 31 Jul 2024 09:56:55
David, Sounds positive. Would this be a loan deal?

2.) 31 Jul 2024 09:58:42
Purchase.

3.) 31 Jul 2024 11:31:48
Nothing on ESPN site with reference to Hannibal.

12 Jun 2024 13:24:25
Reliable source in Norwich when asked about McLean to us said there’s no chance as they see him as an important player and we won’t meet the fee.

davidb1996

1.) 12 Jun 2024 13:36:09
Good.

2.) 12 Jun 2024 14:11:54
Phew!

3.) 12 Jun 2024 14:13:54
Of all the folk we’ve been linked with this one is the one I hope to be true more than anything.

4.) 12 Jun 2024 14:14:45
Ideal! Too old.

5.) 12 Jun 2024 14:20:49
Agreed. McLean won't improve us and if Barron is a possible signing then that's a better option on and off the field. The kid should improve in a Rangers environment however, i to believe we need Garcia done and dusted asap, break the bank and get him in for the qualifiers.

6.) 12 Jun 2024 14:22:34
Could the Mclean rumour just have been people mixing him up with Barron? As Mclean doesn't seem to fit the kinda player that PC and NK have been looking at. i'm still shocked PC hasn't signed anyone he has previously worked with I heard a strong rumble a while back he was determined to bring someone he knew and trusted in.

7.) 12 Jun 2024 15:05:28
I’ve no problem with a 1 or two year place holder in McLean being a rangers supporter will give his all but if there’s a large fee involved then no way should we sign him.

8.) 12 Jun 2024 15:28:19
“The kid should improve in a Rangers environment however” - Really? Do many young players improve and develop at Rangers?

Aberdeen probably have a better record of brining through and developing youth than Rangers do. I just hope Barron comes here, can get a game, and does not stagnate or go backwards like so many others.

9.) 12 Jun 2024 15:38:13
Dado he’s absolutely mediocre at best.

10.) 12 Jun 2024 16:28:46
“I’ve no problem with a 1 or two year place holder” - It never works out that way. Rangers bring in a guy to do a job in the short-term. If that older player does a job in the short-term Rangers just keep handing out one year deals and kicking the can down the road. Then one day, we find ourselves having to replace most of an aging squad.

Weir was kept one year too long. McGregor was kept one year too long. Same for Jack. I have no doubt in my mind that we just made the same mistake with Balogun.

These people are never temporary. We keep them until they decline, they became finished, and then they retire.

11.) 12 Jun 2024 16:57:59
I can see the logic in signing someone like McLean, as we need some more established professionals to help the young team bed in, and he's a rangers man. But can't see it happening for us given his wages / the fee that would be required.

12.) 12 Jun 2024 17:10:43
Rather have Barron as long as he’s played regularly.

13.) 12 Jun 2024 18:12:46
I can also see the logic in signing an experienced player to level out the young players being signed but I maybe somewhere along the age bracket of 27/ 28 should be experienced enough.

11 Jun 2024 13:04:48
Rrahmani now follows a cafe in Glasgow that some of the other players follow. The absolute pinnacle of rumour posts you are all welcome! All joking aside this is one that I’d be excited about.

davidb1996

1.) 11 jun 2024 13:58:14
david, let’s not forget, every single year we are to be excited by all of the signings, star had at least 5 down as superstars, we came second again,

we hopefully will find those two players who take us up from second.

2.) 11 Jun 2024 14:08:45
I mean this time last season I’m fairly sure I said I’d rather sign the best players in leagues similar to ours than the worst players in the better leagues. Lammers and Dessers didn’t have great goal records whereas this guy does. Not saying he’ll be a world beater but this is the type of player we should be going for imo.

3.) 11 jun 2024 14:27:49
yes, absolutely dave, we took a few cheaper options

you can talk about desserts 20 odd goals all day, that nearly 40 games and he was absolutely awful as a football player, lammers was a far bettter footballer but doesn’t have the bottle fir here, but i agree never given an opportunity to play as a lone striker, it’s time now to pay for winners, not guys nobody wants and don’t come close to international teams, we need international competitors who are ready to spill blood to succeed, not guys happy to pick up 30k a week and score against dundee or st johnston.

4.) 11 Jun 2024 15:43:12
Agreed Tom neither have what we need going forward.

27 May 2024 14:46:48
Balogun has apparently signed an extension. Not against it whatsoever, low wages, and a good backup. Also a good leader in the dressing room and if Tav and Goldson both do leave would be one of the main candidates to step up as captain.

davidb1996

1.) 27 May 2024 15:06:18
Have to agree with most of that, although he's a leader and great guy around the place I don’t see him being captain as he won’t be in the 11 all the time. He can maintain the levels of Saturday over a long period of games and unfair to expect him to.

Deserves the deal and great option when fit. First choice CB required though.

2.) 27 May 2024 15:06:32
Excellent news if true.

3.) 27 May 2024 15:22:15
Great news. Need players with his experience and leadership to help the younger generation push through ??.

4.) 27 May 2024 15:23:28
Happy with that. Never let's us down. Just wish he was younger.

5.) 27 May 2024 15:27:32
No brainer for me. A reliable deputy for next season as and when we need him.

6.) 27 May 2024 15:37:23
As long as it’s back up and back up only as we can’t get rid of everyone in the one go.
Captain? Why would we give a back up player the captaincy? Just naw.

7.) 27 May 2024 15:45:50
Won't be playing enough games to be captain.

8.) 27 May 2024 15:53:47
I have absolutely no problem whatsoever, if indeed big leon balogun has signed a new 1 year deal to stay with us for another season ?I said at the time gio should have kept him and was happy when he returned under beale, as he should have never have been away in the first place. ?

He very rarely let's you down and is a good centre half and although not an automatic starter, i think he's fantastic to have as part of our first team squad as he adds terrific experience and still the fastest centre half at ibrox. ?

Although not comparing them, big davie weir stayed with us into his forties and was superb. ?I think balogun if he has signed a new deal, is good news for us and he deserves it imo ? I've always rated and liked the big man ???.

9.) 27 May 2024 15:55:53
Might be left of centre, diomande is always shouting and waving his arms about n telling players where to go, or I just might be mentally disturbed to suggest him 4 captain??.

10.) 27 May 2024 16:00:30
Balogun is staying.

Rangers have someone staying in 1D.

11.) 27 May 2024 16:24:20
Fork ? pmsl.

The big man will be a reliable emergency CB. Realistically no decent CB is coming in as 4th choice so no problem with it. And i don't see a future for king unless he goes out on loan.

12.) 27 May 2024 16:26:22
Leon probably the best central defender we have on ability alone.
Fitness wise is his problem.
Good to have as back up with Souttar
2 new starters needed.

13.) 27 May 2024 16:30:03
Dalogun can't be captain if he's 4th choice but glad he's staying on.

14.) 27 May 2024 16:30:29
I agree that a squad player shouldn’t normally be captain but I look at that squad and other than Butland I really don’t see anyone else.

15.) 27 May 2024 16:32:05
John any idea if it's defender cordoba.

16.) 27 May 2024 16:47:34
I'm chuffed with this guys been a terrific player for us leader on the pitch and off it great news ?.

17.) 27 May 2024 16:57:25
Cordoba is expected medical Mon/ tue so bound to be him in 1D.

18.) 27 May 2024 16:59:16
Yes one walter.

19.) 27 May 2024 17:58:17
As a squad player it makes sense.

20.) 27 May 2024 18:51:34
No brainer Balogun, we've given extensions recently not deserved or earned, this one is.

21.) 27 May 2024 19:30:35
He's the only ooc player that should get a deal, the rest have to go.

22.) 27 May 2024 20:15:08
Delighted for Balogun, low wage and solid as backup. Hopefully, we sign a replacement for Goldson and he goes to Saudi.

23.) 27 May 2024 20:34:10
Can't believe what I'm reading. As good as he's been he was done 2 yrs ago. He's rarely been fully fit for more than a couple of games. It's not like he's Davie Weir who was ever present. Let's give Jack and Roofe a new deal while we're at it.

24.) 27 May 2024 20:59:55
Looks like it could be cordoba if rumours are true John. Might be wrong tho. Could be just internet talk.

25.) 27 May 2024 22:11:33
Happy he’s got an extension good enough to be at least back up. Sterling my choice for Captain though, someone who goes into every challenge BELIEVING he will win and expecting to aswell. Never let's us down and leads by example on the pitch regardless of where he plays.

26.) 28 May 2024 08:20:14
Signing Balagon with his injury history is not what we require, why sign someone who is not expected to play a lot of games, as to King not going to make it so why send out on loan, better to just try and find buyer. why do we think other teams will take some of our players on loan as part of an deal as most on here do not think they are good enough for us, so why would others want them.

27.) 28 May 2024 09:59:43
Difference between good enough for Rangers or Kilmarnock gers58.

14 Jun 2025 09:36:27
Anyone a bit concerned about a fair chunk of the rumours being players from down south? We've gone down that route before and have had more failures than wins and the majority had high wages. I won't pass judgement on the new guys until they have a chance of course but Everton haven't exactly been great in the transfer window the past few years.

davidb1996

1.) 14 Jun 2025 09:48:51
Weve also been down the route at the sqme time of players from europe wheo have also failed big time. At the moment half players championship linked and half players out with uk.

2.) 14 Jun 2025 09:53:32
Davie we have had our fair share of failures from every market we shop in! It's all about identifying the right individuals no matter where they are currently playing their football. I personally would shop in markets that would maybe be better value for money however there is always a risk when signing players no matter how able they are.

3.) 14 Jun 2025 10:02:35
You do realise they are just rumours so some or none of them may get bought. the fact we have a British manager allows the press and the players to put forward players they are more aware of. is anyone surprised that there are a large number of players who Martin and Thelwell would know. yes it may be they are fishing in that pond but I suspect it is just lazy journalism for most.

4.) 14 Jun 2025 10:16:16
Yeah sone of the names concern me even a fair few Championship players would be outwith our alleged new wage structure i just don't want us to make same mistakes we have made before. Some of the rumours seem exciting tho Turgeman, Frigan couple others still bit gutted we didn't get Camara across the line thought he would have been a very good addition but will just have to wait for the scarf shots to see who we do get and who doesn't come. Expecting a busy week before pre-season starts.

5.) 14 Jun 2025 10:26:40
Transfers in general have more misses than hits it's nothing to do with being english or playing in the english leagues. Tav, goldson, arfield, defoe, lundstrum, aribo, kent, cantwell are all players that have came from down south that were good enough to play. there is nothing wrong with the english leagues other than wages and prices. we've had plenty players from europe, south america, north america etc that haven't worked either i'm not sure why people seem to blame it on the english leagues, its just the nature of transfers some work some don't. England has probably been one of our best in recent years bar the excessive wages we have paid to some of them.

6.) 14 Jun 2025 10:28:20
In that i've also forgotten our record transfer sale calvin bassey.

7.) 14 Jun 2025 10:57:59
Cantwell? He didn't show it much let's be h.

8.) 14 Jun 2025 11:37:37
Club are actively looking at most markets, Scottish, British, European, African and South American.

Model will more than likely see players 23+ coming from closer to home and those 17+ being identified from wider markets.

Main focus for the recruitment team at the moment is rebalancing the squad.

9.) 14 Jun 2025 12:02:19
Cantwell was far to up himself to ever be a good player for rangers.

10.) 14 Jun 2025 13:08:58
Cantwell was still miles better than hagi bajrami lawrence etc.

11.) 14 Jun 2025 14:37:42
Behave dado hagi won 55 and was in double figures for goals and assists that season cantwell was a diddy.

12.) 14 Jun 2025 15:06:07
1 season wonder then? Cantwell for me was far more suited to the physical nature of the league here. Hagi must be one of the most over rated players we have ever had.

03 Jun 2025 11:37:46
Not really posted on here in a while but have been keeping an eye on the page and have noticed a real negative view of Russel Martin being the next manager. What are the reasons for this?

I look at it as he has a clear style of play (which we've lacked for ages) and he did well to get Southampton promoted albeit they were dreadful this year. I get he was terrible when playing for us but when I see his interviews I think he's quite a good talker. Seems an appointment that has upside potential with less risk than Ancelotti.

Attacking football sounds good to me not sure why there's such a negative view. I am not 100% backing him I know he's not perfect but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as folk are making it out to be and he is one of the better candidates.

davidb1996

1.) 03 Jun 2025 11:54:10
I assume you never watched Southampton David trying to play out from the back shipping goals and going sideways and more sideways. He has no other tactic and refused to change his ways kind of like Clement. It's got disaster written all over it and to
Top it all off he's as annoying a Beale to listen to.

2.) 03 Jun 2025 11:57:17
David the whole point is he does not play attacking football.

3.) 03 Jun 2025 11:59:05
Has he been sacked from every post he's had.

4.) 03 Jun 2025 12:00:27
All three promoted sides fared badly, it's a big step up.
Russel Martin will have learned a lot from his time in the premiership, he is a young manager who plays the game with attractive football, it's a gamble but not more so than the son of a great manager.

5.) 03 Jun 2025 12:05:18
I think because he doesn't actually play attacking attractive football. For some reason this has been said somewhere and people have latched onto it. He wants football dominated by possession but starting from his GK and defence despite risks, not actually based on attacking.

6.) 03 Jun 2025 12:10:05
It's not attacking football tho that's the problem.

7.) 03 Jun 2025 12:11:51
I did watch them and I did say they were dreadful last year but that tactic clearly worked for them when they were one of the better teams in the league. Southampton had the worst squad in the Prem this season and not being willing to change the way they play was naive but to paint that as a potential issue for us when we're better than 10/ 11 teams in the league is also not right. Would you prefer someone who has no attacking style of play but can set up a low block to survive in the prem? That would work well for rangers.

8.) 03 Jun 2025 12:15:15
Sima I'll hold you to that attractive football. Do fans just think because he got promoted via play offs with saints that he plays attractive attacking football?

9.) 03 Jun 2025 12:16:56
I find that if it is Martin, this whole manager process is largely underwhelming.
We sack Clement and Endure Ferguson only to arrive at the British Clement?
Hardly the dramatic change a takeover would bring.

It's going to be interesting to see how we all react if Clement 1.0 got better results than Clement 2.0.

10.) 03 Jun 2025 12:17:59
Sima, the phrase "learned a lot" is one I am sick of hearing mate.

18 May 2025 16:50:40
Not really surprising but Barry definitely not getting the job. Club have said a thank you for managing his last game.

davidb1996

1.) 18 May 2025 17:21:47
Seems all those supposedly smug grins during press conferences might just have been wind.

2.) 18 May 2025 17:43:01
Problem is some believed him Angus.

15 Dec 2024 14:39:29
If anyone likes a flutter Tav to give away 2 fouls is 6/ 1 on sky bet. Looks like a mistake as it’s 6/ 5 on paddy power. Worth a couple of pennies and hopefully he boots maeda into the stand for once.

davidb1996

03 Nov 2024 08:58:17
One of the clear differences between us and Celtic (apart from ability) is the work rate and desire to attack the other teams goal. Every time they go forward there’s 3,4 or 5 players all busting their backside to get in and around the opposition box and it shows. We get the ball and our team is jogging forward as if they couldn’t care less. We’re lucky to get 1 player in the box when we are on the transition forward never mind a few.

Given they've confirmed Barry is leaving I'd expect the next manager is very close if not already done. If it is Rose is that one who seems a good appointment?

If we wait for a tribunal then we don’t get him til the summer. We need reinforcements now, if the fee is true then for 200k extra you’ve got to just bite the bullet and pay it.

Also think they won’t pull the trigger until after the league cup final as bringing a new manager in for that week would likely send them into 2 pumpings within a couple weeks of joining the club.
