EXCLUSIVE: Rangers agree deal to sign Brighton defender Leo Balogun

Imo another poor signing.

As1974

1.) 24 Jul 2020 13:36:51
What are you basing that opinion on AS1974?

2.) 24 Jul 2020 13:37:22
Yes because signing another international player to be 4th choice when katic is back is poor eh? i'm willing to bet you've never even seen the lad play. Nice an optimistic. Ridiculous comment.

3.) 24 Jul 2020 13:38:12
Disagree, has played most of his career in the bundesliga
Also been capped 32 times for Nigeria give the man a chance.

4.) 24 Jul 2020 13:44:51
Hes 32 . What chance has some our young lads got eh?

5.) 24 Jul 2020 13:53:21
As what young lads are you referring to. Potentially fourth choice.
Talk Katic could be back January, sensible cover.

6.) 24 Jul 2020 13:56:41
AS1974 obviously SG doesn’t think the young guys are ready right now.

7.) 24 Jul 2020 13:56:57
Ok As1974, let’s have a think about the silly things you are saying. You ask what chance have our young lads got? Well I’m guessing you mean Mayo and McCrorie? Gerrard has already clearly stated that he could of kept Mayo this season as 4th/ 5th choice CB, maybe playing a couple of games. But would much rather be able to send him on loan and get him 30 or so games elsewhere to improve his development. And McCrorie ain’t a CB. So that puts that to rest.
And as for Balogun being a poor signing? Instead of reading the newspapers headlines ie ‘Rangers sign Wigan defender on a free’. How about this? ‘Rangers sign current Nigerian international defender with experience of playing in German Bundesliga and English premiership on free to be 4th choice back up CB’ Does that sound better?

8.) 24 Jul 2020 14:02:01
As1974, 32 is no age for a central defender. What have our youngsters got to do with your original post which says he is a poor signing? Isn't Edmundson young? Or Mayo? Or Katic? If they are good enough (Paterson, Maxwell etc) they will be given the chance to break through. They've only had two years of proper coaching with the current regime, for crying out loud, and most of them are still in the 16-18 bracket. Other, older players just weren't good enough so we had to start again at youth level. Now put your dummy back in.

9.) 24 Jul 2020 14:03:36
So you would bank on an 18 year old centre back and a defensive midfielder to cover centre half in the season they could win 10? Behave lad.

10.) 24 Jul 2020 14:09:30
I’m guessing 74 that when the opportunity comes along Gerard will choose the player who he thinks is most capable at the time - Bologun, Mayo or any other player.

11.) 24 Jul 2020 14:12:37
As1974 what's with the complaints of signing someone at 32? He’s free! Has clearly been signed due to Katic’s injury and will no doubt do us a big turn during that time with his experience. Heard enough about “give young lads a chance” - we are trying to win trophies, not create a team of 18 year olds with zero experience. If they’re good enough, they’ll get their chance when SG says it’s time.

12.) 24 Jul 2020 14:29:04
OK we sign a 32 year old.

Whats his sell on fee? When was the last time he played a competitive game? . We buy him just to warm the bench?
We have Mayo and Bassey who can fit in.
I'm a right in saying we have one, yes one fit striker, who befure lock down was rank rotten. Alarm bells no?

13.) 24 Jul 2020 14:30:49
So ScottyGer we've went with these "experienced" guys as you call it for the last 2 season. What did we win? There's my point.

14.) 24 Jul 2020 14:45:50
Guys, we needed cover and on paper the lad looks to tick some boxes. Whilst he might be a Nigerian international so was Efe Ambrose 😆😆. Let’s give him and our man agent team the benefit of the doubt though. I’m sure the lad wasn’t the only option they considered.

15.) 24 Jul 2020 14:57:21
I get you would prefer someone younger but as cover I'd rather have experience. Edmundson looks promising but open to mistakes. Helander has been 'nearly fit' for months so I won't rely on him playing so someone proven at a good level is the right call for now. Save our money for st and mid.

16.) 24 Jul 2020 14:57:24
Oh dear oh dear AS1974, you really are making yourself look very silly now. Again if you’d been paying attention Gerrard clearly stated just a few days ago that he was looking to bring in BOTH a CB as cover (due to Katics injury) AND. wait for it. another striker. It just so happens we’ve managed to secure the CB first.
As for talk of sell on values? That wasn’t the point of bringing in Balugon. We needed someone who was available immediately, had experience at a decent level, wasn’t going to cost much/ anything (just in case you haven’t noticed, there’s a C.V. going on that’s hampering all clubs finances) and probably understands that he may not be first choice. I think we’ve done ok in getting in an international player that meets those criteria.
And I’ve already covered the point about our younger players.

17.) 24 Jul 2020 14:59:20
As1974 his last competitive game was yesterday mate so educate yourself otherwise you just embarrass yourself.

18.) 24 Jul 2020 15:06:33
Well there you go as74, when was last time he played a competitive game.
How about Wednesday night. Wigan v Fulham.
Before that Saturday, before that the previous Wednesday
It appears that Klopp knows the lad very well from Germany, and talks him up very well.
Only a guess but mb gerrard and Klopp have chatted about him.
Good thing for me it should not take him long to get up to speed.

19.) 24 Jul 2020 15:11:39
As1974 so because he has no sell on value we shouldn't sign him? May aswell just get rid of every player before they hit the age of 30 then, if that's your logic. We can get rid of McLaughlin and Greegsy and play with Firth in goals if you want?

His last competitive game was 2 days ago. If that's not good enough then his last competitive game before that was 4 days earlier. Is that enough or do you want me to keep going?

20.) 24 Jul 2020 15:22:05
I wouldn’t be surprised if the lad walked straight into our back fore he will be the most experienced CB at the club!

21.) 24 Jul 2020 15:29:32
OK fair enough he played against Fulham. He's not even first choice for a struggling Brighton team.

I'm not making myself look silly at all.

If i or some of the guys commenting on here were a young Def In the Rangers squad how would you feel?

Season after season we are buying so called experienced players but if that's to be the case bring some more young in man. Mix it up.

22.) 24 Jul 2020 15:31:53
So back to my point. Why did we need this guy? We will continue to dismiss some young guys in our squad.
Striker should be number 1 priority.

23.) 24 Jul 2020 15:37:30
"We've went with these experienced guys for the last 2 seasons". Nobody in our defense the last 2 seasons has been over 28. Some as low as 17. "Whats his sell on fee". Why do we automatically have to sell him? Let him see his contract out then mayo and king will be ready. "When was his last game? " 2 days ago with Wigan.

24.) 24 Jul 2020 15:38:42
Hope he gets minutes against Coventry in the 2nd half to see how he pairs with Goldson.

25.) 24 Jul 2020 15:55:43
It's very unlikely we're going to sign a regular first team player from any team in the English premier League as1974.
If the boy improves our squad I don't see any problems.
Am sure we'll sign a forward player before next Saturday as well.

26.) 24 Jul 2020 16:41:17
I agree MrGrumpy that would be ambitious but I'd have been hapoy with a back up player like Bassey.

We, ll have to sign a striker by then and I hope its not Cosgrove or Dykes.

27.) 24 Jul 2020 16:52:03
1974, Mayo is not ready to be first team regular just yet. That's surely not up for debate?
Helander isn't fit and katic is out.
That leaves you 2 first team CB's only.
However you are right a striker is the priority. So surely having the opportunity to sign experienced international cover ON A FREE makes sense as you leave the rest of your budget for said striker?

28.) 24 Jul 2020 17:03:38
As u r looking silly.
Good to see another under the radar signing. Wilson said the deal was agreed and signed before we went to France.

29.) 24 Jul 2020 17:13:47
5 clean sheets with Wigan after they brought him in to shore up the defence. A good solid back up with plenty of experience. I think we've been smart with this signing.

30.) 24 Jul 2020 17:33:28
According to Wigan fans he came in January for them and was really good for them. Good signing for free with plenty of experience. Don’t see the problem in signing him tbh he will cover for Katic but he will also provide competition to the other centre backs.

31.) 24 Jul 2020 17:43:35
plenty of experience and ltd training required. can fit in euro ties as well without much coaching. smart signing really.

32.) 24 Jul 2020 18:17:57
Time will tell. I know he's free and I wish people would shut up and stop saying "you look silly" and "Put your dummy back in the pram" BS. The boy he will be on a hefty wage and with C.V. times are hard at present.

My point initially was get a striker in and stop mucking about.

Yes the dfence needs shored up but a striker is Number 1 priority.

33.) 24 Jul 2020 18:30:53
AS1974, if I was a young defender in the squad I'd think that I need to train much harder and learn more about how to be a better defender that can be trusted to play for Rangers.

Players need to earn the right to play for Rangers not just be handed it. We can't afford to see if a young defender is capable of playing. Every player needs to be ready this year.

34.) 24 Jul 2020 18:42:39
Yes I kind of agree but you need to give players a chance Blue. You can't keep buying all the time. We need to be a selling club also.

35.) 24 Jul 2020 19:19:48
Could be a clever move. The guy has a decent CV and he didn't cost us a transfer fee. We might just have landed ourself a good deal. Assuming we have the funds, (and I believe that we have), the bringing in a quality striker and ideally a second striker would be my priority, and possibly a holding midfield player although I am hoping that Barker and Aribo might just be the answer to our midfield needs.

36.) 24 Jul 2020 19:44:11
It's a signing that 100% makes sense for us. An experienced international on a free is a no brainer. And we will sign a striker, but this was set up before France, did before defoe got injured. So at the time the deal was done cb was the priority as we had 2 fit cbs. Not hard to understand.

37.) 24 Jul 2020 19:52:16
I love how people are saying he has come on free from brighton he moved away from brighton in Jan and was at wigan till his contract expired due to them being in admin, he is a solid defender who will fill a gap in the defence and also has experiance that the young players need.

38.) 24 Jul 2020 20:42:05
Not much point in trying to reason with as1974, is there? He says we can't keep buying all the time - about a free player. He's happy to go into a vital season with just 2 fit centre backs, both of limited experience (neither near international level and one just learning the game) . Goldson gets injured and he's content for us to go with Edmondson and Mayo against Aberdeen, the mhankies, European teams and all the rest. Aye right.

39.) 24 Jul 2020 23:46:53
@ The Covenanter. wind your neck on pal. So a 32 year old CB will bail us out aye? Brilliant. Who's to say he's even good? He's on a free so must be brill eh?
Is people not allowed to have an opinion no? The last 2 seasons we've bought more dross than good. Time for the youth to get run. If your saying thier isn't one young lad from your training camp and isn't ready to jump in to that team then your delusional.

Mayo, Patterson only to name a few.

40.) 25 Jul 2020 00:06:15
Your not allowed to have an opinion if you write "is people not allowed to have an opinion" ARE mate ARE.

41.) 25 Jul 2020 00:10:50
Talk sense muppet.

42.) 25 Jul 2020 07:45:03
An international CB who just turned 32 who has played in Bundesliga for a decade and a couple of years in Championship and BPL on a Bosman is great business.
Experienced CB is only on 1 year contract if he plays well we can extend it, but basically we have cover until Katic is recovered.
Not every signing has to be young with sell in value, the 3 older signings in Gerrard era Davis, Shagger and Defoe have all been great, new back up keeper has been impressive also.
Pointless paying £5m for a CB just so we can sell on in future 2 experienced in Goldson/ Helander and 2 with Katic/ Edmundson is perfect mix. Now we have added experience at minimal outlay freeing up funds for Striker, job done.

43.) 25 Jul 2020 10:27:52
I think he will be a good signing, hopefully he’s quite authoritative, help command from the back. Could help having a some strong leaders in the team. I hope we do sign a striker but who I don’t know. Personally would like to see us get some1 who is a big strong unit, like a giroud type player, that many of the teams we play against is backs to the wall so pace is a bit of a wasted attribute. Don’t get me wrong if they had pace as well that would be ideal.

13 Mar 2020 06:04:24
Just read that SG is now outing polster for not taking one for the team. Aye very good. have a look in the mirror.

As1974

1.) 13 Mar 2020 09:36:19
and why not he should have done, running around like a headless chicken, saying that there was a couple of abysmal performances out there last night, some drastic changes need addressing at the end of the season.

2.) 13 Mar 2020 10:15:14
Truebluesotrue the reason managers don't usualy do that is because it should be done behind closed doors instead of sg through them under the bus all the time, polsters confidence now probley low which is not needed when confidence is aready very low.

3.) 13 Mar 2020 11:06:22
100% agree with Gerrard, that last goal has changed our chances massively.

4.) 13 Mar 2020 11:24:21
Remember when he did the same thing about Tavernier v Young Boys?

Oh, wait a minute, he doesn't do that with his clique.

5.) 13 Mar 2020 11:25:41
No wonder this team doesn't play for Gerrard. He slates them all the time. He's not a good man manager or tactician.

If even 4lads are failing to back him you know the game is up.

6.) 13 Mar 2020 12:11:22
Have to agree that comments and the reprimanding of individual players should be behind closed doors. (unless it is to praise them of course) .

How would Stevie feel if D. King publicly announced that Stevie had his backing but up till now his recent performance has been absolutely abysmal and is now getting a bit sick o him.

I know if my gaffer told me I am the worse employee on his books then asked me to do him a favour and turn out an item for him personally, I know what I would reply.

7.) 13 Mar 2020 12:35:56
Let’s be honest. Gerrard is right!

He should have brought him down! Arfield and Kent both done it earlier on game, I don’t see anyone giving them a hard time for getting booked!

8.) 13 Mar 2020 13:56:45
Ok he should have took a booking but he isn't helped at back post when he has 2 players to choose from cause goldson has had to do midfields job closing down at the edge of the box. No top manager would do this to a player in polster position. And SG wouldn't through tav or goldson under the bus like that.

9.) 13 Mar 2020 14:43:39
Well out of order. Why does he back goldson week in week out. Look at his hamilton blunder. Worst yet. What gerrard say. he's strong character.

10.) 13 Mar 2020 16:12:49
dont think polster really could do much about it, guy was gone. and i'm not comfortable with our manager slagging the guy off for that in the press, or for that matter demanding in public that our players "take one for the team"

with that suit comes responsibilities. gerrard isn't living up to them at moment.

11.) 13 Mar 2020 16:17:45
slaughter players in dressing room yes but keep it in house don’t hang them out to dry for scumbag mhedia

also if you’re going to dig folk out, be consistent. he’s done it to niko polster and others but tav goldson cple others also at fault for loosing big goals but they are bulletproof

call it what you want - it’s double standards.

12.) 13 Mar 2020 19:08:50
Get a grip of yourselves. Absolute sweetie wives. Yous all wanted poulster in instead of Tav. He was poor at the weekend and had a massive part to play in their 3rd. The difference between him and Tav is night and day. Saying gerrard never criticises his favourites is a bit hypocritical as you lot constantly blame the players you don’t like for every single mistake or poor performance.

13.) 13 Mar 2020 20:02:51
eezyeez, catch yourself on we were never in that game it was boys against men 😡😡😡😡😡😡.

14.) 13 Mar 2020 22:34:54
@EverySaturday It's not about us, it's about Gerrard. He's the manager, not us. What he says about his players matters a damn more than what we do.

15.) 14 Mar 2020 10:22:04
I'm not a fan of the chucking players under the bus. I watched sven Goran eriksen on monday in the sky studio before the leicester game talking about the same subject. Saying he would never.

16.) 14 Mar 2020 10:25:42
Sorry hit button early. Basically said stuff like that he would bring player into his office or have s eord in dressing room sfter gsme. He would never do it to media as it has s detrimental effect on players confidence and performsnce.

17.) 14 Mar 2020 16:37:45
Well for someone who thinks it matters not a jot what they have to say, you always have a lot to say for yourself. More often than not moaning and complaining or is you’re posts all James Tavernier’s fault?

13 Jan 2020 19:55:32
We are supposed to have offered Tyrese Campbell a long term deal?

Anyone hear anything?

As1974

1.) 14 Jan 2020 10:47:27
Well he is a free agent in the summer so can sign on a bosman i have heard that both us and celtic have offered the player a deal.

2.) 14 Jan 2020 13:18:40
appears to be a decent prospect, and maybe more than decent. hopefully he will sign up, seeing how well joe aribo has done.

3.) 14 Jan 2020 16:17:47
Struth have heard he has bags of potential but extremely lazy. This from Stoke ST holder.

25 Dec 2019 23:59:38
Reading (dunno if its it's TRUE) we have been in contact with Olivier Giroud? Please no.

As1974

1.) 26 Dec 2019 09:27:52
Please no? You having some sort of a laugh mate?

2.) 26 Dec 2019 09:56:17
He would be an incredible signing!

3.) 26 Dec 2019 10:41:43
This story was dong some rounds couple of weeks ago, did not post as I feel absolutely not a chance. Heard it from same source who said we wanted foden which is not happening.
My source believes we will make one major loan signing in line with Defoe signing of last year.

4.) 26 Dec 2019 10:41:52
If he's willing to drop 90k a week then its possible. also would he be happy 3rd choice striker haha.

5.) 26 Dec 2019 12:21:25
Giroud would tear through this league like wet tissue paper. Please no is the daftest comment ever.

6.) 26 Dec 2019 13:23:03
There is not a chance he will be moving to Scotland. He wants to be in the french team at the euros.

7.) 26 Dec 2019 14:42:59
Sorry guys. he's slower than a week in the jail and would demand a
HUGE salary. What is actually wrong with some people on here? Man we need saleable assets not a journeyman. Come on guys get a grip.

8.) 26 Dec 2019 14:48:12
@ Wagman how is it the daftest comment ever?

@C of Ibrox. Are you having a laugh? he's 33. We already have Defoe.

9.) 26 Dec 2019 15:54:12
Dont think it's a daft comment. I wouldn't want him either. We only play eith one striker why would we want to sign a striker who doesn't score?

10.) 26 Dec 2019 15:57:31
He would be some signing that's for sure.

11.) 26 Dec 2019 17:40:52
And drop Morelos? Or Morelos leaves and play either a 33 or 34/ 35 old striker?

12.) 27 Dec 2019 05:53:01
Well I think it’s a daft comment 33 or not we want to stop them 9 in a row and he would score goals up here even if it’s only for 6 month loan.

13.) 27 Dec 2019 07:33:25
Do we really need to debate if we need a World Cup winner or not? Herewego55, he has scored plenty and all at the highest level (not against Celtic tho lol) .

14.) 27 Dec 2019 09:47:47
Do you think he fits our system better than morelos? doesn't matter if he was a world cup winner, we've had flops before eho hsvr won world cups, doesn't mean he will be a success! doesn't have the legs to play in our system and woulfnt get s gsme in front of morelos.

15.) 27 Dec 2019 10:34:25
He's big and strong with a style of play that is similar to Morelos. A player like him won't be thinking 2nd or 3rd place striker. He would fancy his chances of being number 1. What if Morelos or Defoe gets injured? I honestly think we will sign a striker in January. Won't be him tho unfortunately. It's a non starter and that's from my big source that is close to the first team, Stevie Ger!

16.) 27 Dec 2019 13:39:53
That the thing he doesn't for our system. We need youth, not someone that age. Guys our long term plan has got to buy players cheap and sell them on for more.

17.) 27 Dec 2019 15:14:11
We're not interested in giroud, SG says so. Not so sure about not signing someone because they're too old. Davis, Defoe? If someone can improve the team/ squad I don't think age matters that much.

18.) 27 Dec 2019 16:11:35
good in the air with all the crosses we get plus think it would only be to end of season loan not high wages remember Chelsea ban lifted so they will buy and he needs to pay. maybe buff going to chelsea.

19.) 28 Dec 2019 16:48:19
So would some on here be happy if morelos went in jan n we got giroud? Bye bye lesgue if that was to happen🤷‍♂️.

24 May 2019 23:06:23
Greg Stewart apparently signed a 2 year deal. Useful addition I guess.

As1974

1.) 25 May 2019 02:22:50
Baffling addition more like nowhere near good enough even as a sqoad player Gerrard spoke of quality over quantity this summer and the sign8ngs have been underwhelming to put it mildly even players we are linked with are not going to be game changers need to buck our ideas up drastically if we are to challenge.

2.) 25 May 2019 07:13:26
Mate we play in Scotland no Spain. Who do you want to attract? We can't spend lots of money on big singings. It's going to be Loan deals or free transfers. If we do spend it will be a couple of mil tops. That's where we are I'm afraid.

3.) 25 May 2019 08:03:11
Nothing like giving players a chance to prove themselves.

4.) 25 May 2019 08:59:00
Who do you think we should be signing stiv65?

5.) 25 May 2019 09:22:56
Totally agreed, don’t see the point signing stewart pointless and useless signing even on a free.

6.) 25 May 2019 09:31:01
You mean the same greg stewart that has caused us all sorts of problems stiv65? Check out our record against aberdeen and killie this season👍. Granted he won't be an immediate first 11 pick but he'll be a very useful squad player, much better than our current squad players and a proven spl player👍.

7.) 25 May 2019 10:23:40
So is Jones. Loan him back to Killie.

8.) 25 May 2019 10:49:46
Don't usually disagree with u coldo but I do this one. I don't get the Stewart signing he's not better than candeais etc. We should only be using the budget this year on players to improve the starting 11. This means the guys pused out end up filling the squad and the rest of the deadwood go out the door.

9.) 25 May 2019 11:36:46
Here is a little stat that may change your minds re G Stewart. This season when Greg Stewart has played Centre Forward on 14 occasions he has 8 goals and 5 assits. Aberdeen are playing the boy out in the wing, where he is not effective. Now compare that to our other squad striker big lafferty.

10.) 25 May 2019 12:09:50
Most of us on here do realise we need a new left back. I've got no doubt, just like i've said before that barisic is talented, but lacks the heart, for the endeavour of our league. The 2 left backs i think we should go for are max lowe of derby county, currently on loan at the sheep, or kilmarnock left back greg taylor. what's our thoughts on this,
fellow bears?

11.) 25 May 2019 12:09:51
Keep saying guys wait till window opens that’s when to judge never know might be another Kamara amongst the frees.

12.) 25 May 2019 12:11:13
FB I would agree that in an ideal world we should bring in players that improve the starting 11 and then those pushed out make up the squad. But we don't have the cash to do that. Yes we can go and get 3 or 4 for the starting 11 but we need a squad and players like stewart jones hastie are better squad players than what we currently have👍.

13.) 25 May 2019 12:34:08
Stewart will prove his worth. Definitely better than Lafferty. Every time he played he gave us problems so cut the guy some slack.

Regarding Barasic. He looked really good for Oesek (spelling) but looks out his depth at Rangers. He seems to switch off in games and that's an issue. Personally I would sell him as well as Grezda.

14.) 25 May 2019 12:41:27
Stewart is a Rangers Supporter and with a full pre season under his belt and at a level of fitness that Rangers demand I predict he will be a player that can unlock difficult Scottish defences, Me personally was a bit nervous when he was against us he more often than not beat his man and got his cross in or shot away. He is also very experienced. He comes across as the cheeky chappy type and will add to the dressing room. They are building a team that live and breath Rangers and will empty the tank as SG would say every time they put the top on. Not like the over paid junk the other side of town.

15.) 25 May 2019 13:37:39
Stiv65, ever thought it possible that we can't sign anything other than frees right now for one simple reason - the transfer window isn't even open yet? The guys we've signed will help make up a squad of 25-26, of which about 18 are already in place. That means there are more to come and these will be the players we all know we need.

16.) 25 May 2019 15:15:57
Give the guy a chance to bed in then bet he fly's off the blocs. Gerrard sees something in him.

17.) 25 May 2019 15:39:01
Here's a stat, Lawrence Shankand is a free agent and has scored 50 goals in 61 games. **** Greg Stewart, this lad is the best striker in Scotland.

18.) 25 May 2019 15:49:00
but shanks has never scored in spl.

some people.

19.) 25 May 2019 15:56:42
Daisy yore any team can buy any player at any time they just need to wait till window to register the player.

20.) 25 May 2019 17:45:48
Greg Stewart is worth a punt Two year deal for FREE Certainly can be a useful addition as a squad player Just needs toget more goals to his game and play consistently! Gerrard can get the best of this lad and what better he is a die hard Rangers player!

I can see Gerrard is going to go for a couple of quality players that will be first team. players but we also need to go for depth in the squad! Rangers will be getting rid of at least 7 players this year!

21.) 25 May 2019 18:53:08
Greg Stewart is a good signing on a free and will do a job when called upon in certain games and has proved he can in the SPL.

22.) 25 May 2019 18:57:48
We mostly all agree a new left back
That can play domestically is essential
Back up center back is a must
I would like to see, a, right back that can defend not tav
A captain that steps up every game
A striker who can score and stay on the field for ninety minutes
Offload all the dead wood.

23.) 26 May 2019 12:10:23
I think his signings so far have been positive.
Young players who know the league and have been playing well last season for worse teams.
Jones has scored a few against Celtic and Rangers and is a better impact player than Middleton.
Stewart is good in the 10 and is great back up for Arfield with double figures goals and assists last season in the league.
Hastie has explosive turn of pace and is a good finisher, he either looks the part and is good addition in pre season or goes out on loan to Motherwell potentially and does damage against everyone else apart from us in league.
Davis proved his worth in final cpl of months and us another shrew acquisition.
These guys were all FREE or development fee signings with low risk attached.
Wait till the actual transfer window opens and see who we get I’m sure there’s another 2-3 good signings to follow and i'm positive about who they might be.

24.) 26 May 2019 12:47:39
I keep hearing things like oh who do I want us to sign then and it's SPL we play in and not Spain if that is attitude amount our fans who think Greg Stewart is the answer then it shows how much mediocrity some of our fans are willing to accept I'm not saying we can spend millions and millions but I expect a better calibre of player than Greg Stewart and Jake Hastie np disrespect to those players but we need game changers or we will never seriously challenge even players we are being linked with is very underwhelming ie boy from Oldham John Souter forget about how he they might become in future it's about here and now to stop other lot winning 10 in a row our recruitment needs to be lot better because for every Kamara and Ryan Kent there's been Grezda Barisic McCauley so we need to get quality in not mediocre players who will just fill a squad number.

Double jeopardy rules.

3.) 12 May 2021 19:13:30
As the rule changed ages ago. U can’t have double jeopardy for goalie.

4.) 12 May 2021 19:37:40
I haven’t seen it but the double jeopardy rule only comes into play if he attempted to play the ball which I don’t know if he did but you guys will know?

5.) 12 May 2021 20:14:21
kJ definitely tried to get ball.

6.) 12 May 2021 21:06:58
Cheers John.

Another fantastic result yesterday that eases the deafet in the cup.
Ryan Kent has got to be a 25m plus player. The boy has stepped up and us easily our best player.
If we keep Roofe fit he's definitely in contention to start each week. If we had to sell anyone then I think it would be Hagi. I think the boy has talent but is too lightweight for the Scottish game.
Going forward I think we need cover at LB, an attacking MF and probably another striker as I think Defoe will leave too.
What's your thoughts lads?
Only negative if I could find yesterday and I'm being super critical is we kept crossing night balls in, and I know Roofe got on the end of one but we don't really have that target man to attack the ball.
I don't think Itten will get hos chance at Ibrox either.

1.) 03 May 2021 09:03:07
I thought playing two up top again was a tactical masterstroke. At least for the crosses we had two ST's to aim at. I'm glad Gerrard is becoming more astute when it comes to tactics, he said himself that he had to learn to change it to suit and that he has been adapting different tactics this season and making subs a lot quicker. Comes with experience. 😁👍.

2.) 03 May 2021 09:21:24
If Bassey was available we would have left back cover. Having flexible midfielders that can drop back Loke Jack and Aribo gives us potentially 3 for both full back positions.

3.) 03 May 2021 09:27:37
The could've would've should've apologists look pretty foolish again now that we have injuries and the C.V. clowns are suspended and can't do their bit to help the team. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️👍.

4.) 03 May 2021 09:39:17
Coldo you wanted Patterson gone one of the most promising players and you wanted him gone.
That’s embarrassing.

5.) 03 May 2021 09:42:52
Sure leon king can cover left back. in all honesty glad all these injuries have come now with nothing to play for than mid way through season.

6.) 03 May 2021 10:19:48
Why is it embarrassing? I just wouldn't tolerate that regardless of who they are. I would have sacked every one of them. But thankfullly we never as paterson is quality and not once did I say he wasn't quality and I also said at the time I would have got rid of kent etc if it were them. Have you watched Gerrard's post match press conference yet KJA9🤔😁👍.

7.) 03 May 2021 10:33:17
I must have missed us getting beat when Barisic went off injured yesterday to be replaced by Aribo. 🤔.

8.) 03 May 2021 10:34:38
Wasn't Bassey signed as cover for left back?

9.) 03 May 2021 11:39:16
SG decides who stays who goes.
Agree or disagree zungu mebude and the goalie will leave. Possibly Bassey
Jones and probably Edmundson as all not the standard we require.
Breaches won’t have helped them.

10.) 03 May 2021 11:49:25
Doiger u meantioned bassey yesterday aswel. he's part of the CV 5 with patterson banned for 6 games.

11.) 03 May 2021 12:34:38
Rather keep Defoe for another year and sell itten. think we lose money on itten but just never stepped up.

12.) 03 May 2021 12:48:52
League is won and the usual suspects are still getting hysterical. 🙄😁.

13.) 04 May 2021 00:01:45
I think if we loan itten to europe say Belgium or France Switzerland Germany not Spain or Italy maybe even championship we could get £3 back for him in the following summer.

Fkn raging. Why the fk do we bottle these cups? St mirren put us out and now St Johnstone! !

As1974

25 Apr 2021 21:14:24
Don't take your chances you don't win. ST Johnstone are a shower of fkn hammer throwers. Again we need to look at squad. Few players need off the wage bill.

Davie if he was scoring goals left right and centre then maybe 20 million but 50m your way off the mark. he's not even on form and should be benched imo. I wouldn't play him against Septic. I would play Itten if he's fit. More physical and has a height advantage against 3 tall Cb.
