Goldson is apparently due to to have one last round of talks with the club today at some point.

1.) 31 May 2022 10:22:26
Not sure how I feel about Goldson. At times he can be brilliant and at times not so much. Could we get any better in though?

2.) 31 May 2022 11:05:33
He can go.

3.) 31 May 2022 11:45:39
If we can get him to sign on what the club are willing to offer then it would be superb. You are talking about a guy that’s played nearly every game the whole time he’s been here. Rest of our defensive options are injury prone. Souttar be a good option but how many games will you get out of him. Helander injury prone, Balogun injury prone, Katic back from long term injury and not exactly showing great signs of improvement on loan last year. Simpson is rotten! If you keep Goldson your probably only needing to sign 1 more good quality Centre half and could offload a couple of the injury prone ones plus the unreliable Simpson.

If Goldson leaves you’d need to spend a large fee on someone who brings what he does whilst also still needing another good reliable centre half to cover all the ones with injury issues.

4.) 31 May 2022 11:57:04
Been told he will head to Forrest. If he does he will be back in the championship after 1 season in EPL. Me personally I would rather play at a club that win trophies and play in Europe every season. Money talks these days though.

5.) 31 May 2022 12:11:46
It will cost us at least £3-£4m to replace him so makes sense to keep if we can. Doesn’t mean to say is an automatic pick if we can strengthen that area.

He makes some mistakes but overall has been a great signing.

6.) 31 May 2022 12:47:01
Bee not if we sign a bosman, plenty out there.

7.) 31 May 2022 14:09:08
As I type this I know for a fact Goldson has no club at this point. doesn't mean he has no offers but he is still staying in the house he rents in Glasgow. I've got my source on it as he is playing golf at the weekend with the guy who rents it to him. I'll keep you posted.

8.) 31 May 2022 14:36:34
He's apparently signing for Notts Forest.

9.) 31 May 2022 15:14:23
Ger88- hopefully Conor Goldson stays as he has been a brilliant signing for Rangers and very difficult to replace if he leaves the club.

10.) 31 May 2022 16:23:57
I posted on Monday he will be off to Nottingham Forest it was always agreed since March that if Forest got promoted he was going there - he will be a Forest player by next Tuesday - good luck to him he was never my favourite but did the job for us on the whole .

11.) 31 May 2022 16:24:19
I am told by an ex-colleague that lives in Nottingham that he will sign for Forest in the next few days. Personally I believe that he will do well but unless we are going to replace him with a better player then I believe that we will miss him.

Having a look at the number of players available globally on Bosmans I agree with John that there are players there that we could sign to replace him. Indeed there are a number of quality players available on Bosmans that could do a job for us and are arguably better that what we currently have. The question is whether we could entice any of them to come to Rangers!

12.) 31 May 2022 17:09:09
Berkshire we can, Europa run has enhanced our profile.

13.) 31 May 2022 18:20:19
I am not trying to bash Goldson, he has been a good servant to the club overall but he is not a top quality CB, is inconsistent and makes far too many mistakes. The justification for keeping him seems to be that he plays a lot of games, not that he is a fantastic defender. IMO he played his best game for us in the EL semi final at Ibrox, I thought he was immense. Unfortunately he was awful in the final and was at fault for the goal. Such is life for a defender I guess, every mistake is magnified. I don’t think if he goes we are particularly weakened and there is a great opportunity to improve the quality in that position. Souttar already is an upgrade. I am confident we can bring in a quality CB to replace him. I will wish him all the best for the future and he leaves on good terms with the fans.

14.) 31 may 2022 19:19:06
if i was english and his age i would without a doubt go to the premiership, if even one season, absolutely.

15.) 31 May 2022 19:19:37
Yeah lads seems like he's forest bound now.

16.) 31 May 2022 20:09:58
John, I live in hope that Gio has the charisma to convince players to come to Rangers. He certainly has the CV to prove that he knows his job. I am just concerned that some of our current Board are lacking when it comes to get top quality players signed.

17.) 31 May 2022 21:18:47
Berkshire u know boardroom don’t attract players. They provide the budget. DoF and managers attract players.

18.) 31 May 2022 23:34:10
John, sometimes it comes down to the Chairman just to make the player feel that bit more special. I remember the red carpet treatment that David Murray often rolled out to attract the best and love him or hate him he certainly had the wherewithal to support his managers secure the best available. I am not sure that our current Chairman has that same charisma!
As far as Budget is concerned I believe that Gio will need a substantial archest however I agree fully with you that we can acquire top quality players in the Bosman market and I guess that we are then talking primarily about revenue outlay rather than capital outlay. It remains to be seen whether we can secure the top quality Bosmans that are available that I believe could significantly enhance our first team.

19.) 01 jun 2022 00:02:36
i wouldn't go there where murray and signing players are concerned, il gladly support the current care takers,

20.) 01 Jun 2022 13:30:03
Are you related? He was an average mistake prone CB who cost us. I'll say as a center he could use the ball but in general very. Mistake prone. Didn't trust defensive play at all. If he goes to Forest and we get transfer I'll be elated.

23 May 2022 23:44:53
Just off reading we are apparently looking at 24yo Bosnian goalkeeper Vladan Kovacevic from Polish side Rakow. Kept 16 clean sheets and won the leagues goalkeeper of the hear. Just passing on info from Ibrox Chat haven't read much from them so take it with a pinch of salt.

1.) 24 May 2022 06:28:16
I’m sure John mentioned a while back they an Eastern European keeper was being looked at. Maybe that’s the guy .

2.) 24 May 2022 11:02:52
Bgate yes I did, but did not have a name, this guy fits profile as was not a full international. Still don’t have a name either.

3.) 24 May 2022 12:09:12
read something saying he is an expert at saving penalties.

4.) 24 May 2022 15:19:03
Unless McCrorie is ready to step up (I hope he is) then I'd like to see us sign a long term GK - with McLaughlin as No1 for next year, it's the perfect time to bring in a new GK and give them time to settle.

5.) 24 May 2022 20:13:50

6.) 24 May 2022 22:47:23
I was told we were interested in fenerbache keeper Berke Ozer and have had him watched a couple of times.

07 May 2022 18:32:31
Hagi apparently returned to basic training well ahead of schedule.

1.) 08 May 2022 12:12:03
Good Beas, hopefully fully fit when pre season starts.

2.) 08 May 2022 13:41:30
Definitely John.

3.) 08 May 2022 14:16:24
There was talk of Morelos maybe making the final. Any update on that John?

4.) 08 May 2022 15:34:44
Basic training u an army man ger88.

5.) 08 May 2022 17:44:36
Seeker cannot see it.

6.) 08 May 2022 17:53:58
Honestly think big joe is class for us upfront 😂 don’t mess with a winning formula 😆.

7.) 08 May 2022 18:42:16
Basic training generally just covers back running on the grass or gym work I believe mate, and no not specifically an army man.

8.) 08 May 2022 20:51:53
Pity, thanks John.

26 Apr 2022 12:22:02
p. s I know ivrblue posted this a couple days ago but this is just some more information on the lad and his situation.

26 Apr 2022 12:20:05
Looking at Eric Martel, 6'1 CB or holding midfielder ironically from RB Leipzig. 19 years old only 1 appearance for RB first team, has been loaned at Austria Vienna last 18 months and still has a year on RB cntract bit they are prepared to cut ties in the summer and release him. 5 German u21 caps apart from that know next to nothing about the boy other than teams in bundlesliga are interested.

1.) 26 Apr 2022 17:40:25
Cant be that good if RBLepzieg wanty let him go fur zilch.

2.) 26 Apr 2022 18:18:14
I honestly don't know enough about the lad to judge etc mate but if they are willing to release hin early it is maybe a red flag.

Hope all of you are well and doing good. Haven't had much time to pop on here due to work etc so apologies if this has already been said over and again but managed to watch a re run of yesterday's game and despite it being a friendly there were times I thought we looked unplayable. Colak looks like a grafter and defenders won't enjoy coming up against him, Kamara looked tidy, the new boys who came on and made an immediate impact have certainly gotten my attention, big JM played very well in goals and I must say over the west Ham and Blackpool game Borna looks as though he has something to either prove, or to hold onto and long may it continue. Anyway again hope everyone is well and enjoying this glorious weather. All the best.

1.) 20 Jul 2022 07:11:45
Ger88,some have been far too quick to want borna barisic replaced and flung to the side like an old newspaper ?Way over the top and borna still a terrific left back for me?He lost confidence and form, not his ability there's a difference you know ?.

2.) 20 Jul 2022 07:38:16
Well said guys. Thought Borna waa mom tbh. Lundtram Jack and Kamara also very good for me. The new guys certainly lit the place up with Matondo an absolute flying machine. He will terrorise a few defences this season. I know it waa a friendly but it was a brilliant result against a top epl side that was obviously trying and wanting to win, but, dare I say it, we did look unplayable during that spell at the start of the second half.

3.) 20 Jul 2022 07:46:08
Barisic is a great player and as I stated yesterday at a poster who was trying to hang him out to dry, we’re lucky to have him. We do need another left back but that’s for competion of places - not simply as a replacement.

4.) 20 Jul 2022 08:08:50
Folk have discarded a Croatian international and hope to replace him with kids they’ve seen on YouTube! Borna was class last night and he was matched whist their best.

5.) 20 Jul 2022 08:19:24
I like Borna, but as I've said before on here I think he thought he was away after we beat Celtic last year, he was last off the park and giving it big waves to the support . Maybe something didn't come off for him transfer wise, so last night was a chance to show EPL teams what they were missing. and he delivered big time in my opinion.

6.) 20 Jul 2022 09:17:15
Borna is a very good player on his game, but suffers from a lack of confidence in many many games, GvB has said he will bring another lb in, been looking at that boy yilmaz in some games, that boy can play, surprised their is not epl chasing him well they could be, he would be some signing for Rangers, last year of his deal and for 4m get him in. and after last night yes it was a friendly but that was some show, really excited about this season.

7.) 20 Jul 2022 09:35:11
GVB spurs were looking at yilmaz mate ?.

8.) 20 Jul 2022 10:04:11
The way kamara retains possession is invaluable especially away from ibrox I hope we keep him unless an offer is big imo nothing less than 12/ 15m.

9.) 20 Jul 2022 10:13:10
Does not surprise me sws, being having a look at this boy he would be some signing for Rangers mate, i think we are just getting stronger, GvB is some manager hope he stays for another few season, perform in Europe again this season and their will be many a club chasing him.

05 Jul 2022 01:05:05
Was reading there that Ahax have set an asking price of just £3.3million now for Nicolas Tagalafico, believe Arsenal and a a few others were at one point interested in him and now it appears his stock has lowered and Brighton lead the race. I have heard nothing to insinuate that we are interested this is more of a what if for all of you, but at that price would anyone else throw your hat in the ring for the boy as a lwb and have a back 3 of Bassey, Souttar and Goldson? Just a hypothetical question folks cheers.

1.) 05 Jul 2022 07:05:03
Wages could be the problem mate.

2.) 05 Jul 2022 08:58:56
Agree storm easy enough saying only Brighton but they would still be able to offer a lot more.

Just a couple oh higher profile free agents as far as I'm aware as it stands, that may have slipped under some folks radars.
Salvatore Sirgicu (or however you spell it)
35, Genoa, Italian and former psg goalkeeper.

Adnan Janazaj - Sociedad.
Haven't heard much of him in recent years, seemed to fall off a little perhaps with the weight of early expectation.

1.) 24 May 2022 14:49:50
Adnan could be useful. Keeper too to be fair.

2.) 24 May 2022 15:44:49
Januzaj tends to be in most belgium squads in recent years- would be interesting but you would imagine he will go elsewhere on big wages.

21 May 2022 14:17:58
Looks like none of the fifa fans have the starting xi correct surprisingly, one thing I won't miss during the off season . Team good enough to get the job done though, let's finish on a high Rangers.

1.) 21 May 2022 14:28:04
Just a bit of banter Ger88.
No fan or FIFA fans would have predicted the line up for today.

2.) 21 May 2022 14:53:25
I know it's just a bit of tongue in cheek mate, my old muckers like ace in the pack know that. Interesting to see how Diallo does. Hopefully we get the result and lay down an early marker for next season.

Theoretically 30% of a 25 mill sale would be 7.5 million, which adding to the initial sale would be fantastic business if all true.

I signed for them as part of their first official pro youth set up, unlike many teams at the time we didn't have multiple age groups, in fact I believe there was only u16 and u18 so we were constantly playing against lads a year above ourselves but it was a good test. That would've been back around 03-04 if memory serves correctly and then ended up being picked up by Camelon Juniors for a short spell before losing some interest mate. Long time ago now lol.

Not buying that he's an upgrade on a full Swiss international. Boy has time on his side but not a signing that would excite me. Big Itten just didn't suit our/ the Scottish game but I've a feeling he'll score his fair share back at home this coming season.

Raploch area of Stirling he's from originally wasn't it? And remember playing against a few right good Carse Thistle sides back in the day with East Stirlingshire. Best of luck to wherever the big man ends up he deserves a fair crack at management.
