Latest information I've been passed on today.
As stormtrooper rightly said earlier, there appears to be no wish to recall Katic in January, with the hierarchy believed to be happy to receive a fee for a permanent transfer in the summer.
There doesn't appear to be any new interest as of yet in Morelos, which, given his recent form, and Roofes injury niggles, is music to my ears.
Former Netherlands international, Lazio and Southampton defender Wesley Hoedt, currently with Anderlecht, is being looked at as a replacement for Goldson, and Ross Wilson, who signed the player for the saints, has sent scouts over to watch him in recent times.
As someone on here recently posted, there is real interest in Racing Santander rising star Pablo Torre, who is believed to have a €4 million release clause, but would face competition from Real Madrid, who would likely look to loan him out for 12-18 months initially instead of putting him into their B team.
PSG youngster Xavi Simons is still in the club's thoughts, although a lot depends on what the players agents demands are, basically typical Rinola, highest bidder and whomever offers the most to line his pockets.
Haven't heard anything regarding Joey Veerman, although it's common knowledge that he is on the radar.
Hope everyone had a great Xmas and looking forward to a prosperous 2022.

1.) 28 Dec 2021 14:45:38
In order for Hoedt to join us he would need to take a 50% minimum wage drop. Know nothing about torre but xavi simons has just broken into PSG 1st team and made his debut highly unlikely he's moving to SPFL.

2.) 28 Dec 2021 14:56:58
I don’t believe Hoedt would be a choice to replace Goldson, possibly a replacement for Helander. He’s not the most comfortable on his right foot and we are I need of a right sided central defender.

3.) 28 Dec 2021 15:06:59
Apparently Hoedt is on 13k p/ w at Anderlecht so we could easily double that. Most of those linked so far seem to be paper talk based on connections to manager or coaches so I wouldn't believe any truth to any of them.

4.) 28 Dec 2021 15:24:12
Thanks for the info ger88.

5.) 28 Dec 2021 15:35:01
Heard feyenoord are away to buy veerman.

6.) 28 Dec 2021 17:08:48
Paul we've been scouting veerman for 9+months now, if you're right this was always going to be the possibility that another club came in for him, sg was a big fan of him, had we qualified for the cl I'm sure we would have signed him in the summer, not sure what gvb thinks of him, I'd love to see us signing him, he's getting great reviews in the dutch league.

7.) 28 Dec 2021 18:26:24
Feyenoord had bid for veerman rejected summer window.

8.) 28 Dec 2021 19:45:54
Mostly is just paper talk I'd imagine lads, with a couple wee things thrown in from an ex youth development coach, who admittedly I don't see or speak to all that often these days. But he did tell me about the deal to bring Davis back days before it was in the media, so I'm assuming he must still talk to the odd person still connected to the club once in a while.

9.) 28 Dec 2021 19:52:34
Still good post ger. after all it is a rumour site.

10.) 28 Dec 2021 21:23:39
Cheers John mate.

11.) 28 Dec 2021 23:18:21
There back in for him john. Been reported all over media last week. There chairman has come out and said that feyenoord have made another bid and they have a decision to make.

12.) 29 Dec 2021 09:53:10
I know Paul, Dutch media say they have offered 5 million euros.
My point to mark was it’s not only us who has been chasing him for months.

22 Dec 2021 23:20:20
Teamtalk reporting that we are looking to enter the race to sign West Brom and England keeper Sam Johnstone, along with Newcastle, Spurs and West Ham.

1.) 23 Dec 2021 00:10:04
Cracking keeper.

2.) 23 Dec 2021 06:37:37
Good keeper but don’t think we can afford his wages.

3.) 23 Dec 2021 07:32:10
Yip Herewego55, i've watched sam johnstone quite a few times and he is a cracking keeper mate 👌Would you prefer sam johnstone, tim krul or the big belgian keeper vandevoordt to be greegs longterm replacement🤔
That's to all bears on here 👍.

4.) 23 Dec 2021 08:21:04
We have no chance at signing the Belgian but if we did we should be all over that.

5.) 23 Dec 2021 09:00:23
Definitely a cracking keeper lads, would be an idea replacement for greegs given his age and nd exoerience, unfortunately I'm not aware of his contract status assuming he me be a free come summer?

6.) 23 Dec 2021 12:16:38
Do think we have any chance of Johnstone but I have never been a fan of Krul good at pens.

7.) 23 Dec 2021 12:49:18
Good keeper but would kiss goodbye to any England ambition if he came up here.

8.) 23 Dec 2021 14:03:39
Storm Johnston on 33k a week.

9.) 23 Dec 2021 18:35:50
Well that puts that to bed John he ain’t coming here.

10.) 23 Dec 2021 20:18:13
Very unlikely storm mate you're probably right. He may want to help the baggies into the epl and stay put likely on higher wages, or he may be happy to take a bigger wage at an epl club mentioned and potentially sit on the bench, or the third and least likely of options is perhaps he feels this could be a chance to play against Europe's elite and potentially earn a few winners medals, though likely on a lesser basic wage perhaps topped up with incentive clauses, but I don't see it myself.

11.) 23 Dec 2021 22:35:36
Is roofe and morelos not on near or over 30k a week?

12.) 24 Dec 2021 16:25:01
If we get him for free or very low price then wages can be inflated as happened with others.

isn't that why some guys let contracts wind down to give them more leverage on their wage?

31 Aug 2021 19:41:17
As I mentioned earlier, the deal for Katic to Hadjuk is complete on a season long loan with a recall option. Now give me my chocolate medal please.

1.) 31 Aug 2021 19:51:42
Well done ger.

2.) 31 Aug 2021 19:56:22
Cheers John, nice to get the odd one right 😂.

3.) 31 Aug 2021 19:57:49
Oh meant to ask John, as I'm based in Clydebank I'm looking to get to a couple B team games in the near future. what's the script is it just pay at the gate on match day?

4.) 31 Aug 2021 20:10:02
Straight forward on Saturday. However need to check there is an option to pay at gate. I think Saturday was first game could pay.
I prefer to get ticket on line, collect at Stadium as I’m coming from Ayrshire.

5.) 31 Aug 2021 21:09:24
No worries mate cheers for info.

31 Aug 2021 13:59:23
Katic on loan to Hadjuk I'm reading from Croatian journos.

27 Aug 2021 15:16:46
And that's Algeria in now and not January. Wish the young man well.

1.) 27 Aug 2021 16:07:01
Not been announced yet.

2.) 27 Aug 2021 17:31:18
John yes it is.

3.) 27 Aug 2021 17:36:36
The club's social media announced it a couple of hours ago John.

4.) 27 Aug 2021 17:59:23
Welcome young man. Head down time. Fingers crossed he hits the heights we all expect from a hungry young Columbian Striker. Plenty of time to learn at 19.

5.) 27 Aug 2021 18:04:43
Great been busy. Good news.

6.) 27 Aug 2021 18:24:52
Straight into B team for now mate, 3 year deal.

7.) 28 Aug 2021 16:50:46
Two goals after coming on on 62nd minute not a bad debut even if it's for the B team in a 9-0 win.

22 Nov 2021 11:01:07
As soon as Hanlon got booked yesterday within 30 seconds we should have been getting the ball into Kent to run at him one on one as often as we could. Poor game management and poor execution and performance from the players.

1.) 22 Nov 2021 11:47:56
Guys I know we got beat yesterday but calm down, if yous re-watch the game its all rangers, poor defending an decision making cost us, we still have a decent squad qn a bit if confidence from gio will set us in the right path again, things weren't all rosy in the dressing room with Gerrard.

2.) 22 Nov 2021 11:54:38
Bang on Ger88. Put him under pressure. Although Kent should have been out for Wright imo.

3.) 22 Nov 2021 12:07:01
Kent wasn't running at anyone he was on holiday.

4.) 22 Nov 2021 13:01:05
Barber all rangers How many saves did the Hibs keeper have to make Possession doesn’t win games goals do.

5.) 22 Nov 2021 13:11:12
Problem is Barber2, that current defence has 2 mistakes in them per game. And with our flat sideways passing style with no penetration we don't create enough chances.
Possession means absolutely nothing.

11 Nov 2021 13:48:46
Sgl, "Gerrard ain't going to villa" I wanted to believe you, this one's on you my friend, we shall all begrudgingly accept your apology.

1.) 11 Nov 2021 14:08:52
I just couldn't see him going to villa mate but as they say, that's football🤔.

2.) 11 Nov 2021 14:11:36
Coop was hoping, he was wrong but Stevie is the culprit
Rangers need a good manager, not a world class superstar, someone who isn’t a big name or someone you just don’t like, but you don’t know, could just be a hero inside two months.
Blood will be smelled, if not big blue bear will havet carried the news back with glee.

3.) 11 Nov 2021 14:30:56
I'm past the stage of denial and anger and now am looking for acceptance or blame 😂. Wilson has a big decision to make 2 crucial games for the next gaffer to start if he can navigate them and win then we're looking good again.

4.) 11 Nov 2021 14:39:07
Nothing else for it Ger88 mate.

Who knows, could be the turning point and a kick up the arse for our club.

Time will tell and I believe good will come out of it all.

5.) 11 Nov 2021 16:08:53
I've said from beginning of season something has seemed off. Might be the shake we need, a new manager coming in.

10 Nov 2021 18:11:19
Heres a few outside the box managerial appointments.
Diego Martinez - young manager almost 500 games under his belt, won promotion to la liga with granada then took them to Europa league quarters.
Garry Monk
Tony Pulis
Chris Coleman.
Lucien Farve.
Uwe Rosler.
Chris Hughton.

There are of course other more high profile guys like Zidane, Valverde, Pirlo etc who are also out of contract but given that I haven't seen the above names mentioned and they all appear to currently be out of work is there any of those anyone would fancy a punt on?

{Ed001's Note - surely Tedesco should be the one to look to? It was not so long ago he was seen as the hottest young coach in the Bundesliga before a spell in Russia put the stop to his rise. He will be looking to revive his career.}

1.) 10 Nov 2021 18:29:32
Absolutely ed. Was just looking primarily at a few who had experience in the British game minus one or two higher profile European names but he certainly couldn't be overlooked in there. Was it Shalke he coached before Spartak?

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, he even won a man of the match award as manager of the club, the first time that ever happened in the Bundesliga. It is odd that he has been on the sidelines for a while.}

2.) 10 Nov 2021 18:37:55
Remember hearing good things about him whilst in Bundesliga, and Germany as a league seems to have no problems giving younger coaches a crack even just on temp basis but that's something I never knew and will have to read up on that.

{Ed001's Note - if I remember correctly his team were getting a 4-0 thumping in the first half and he made changes and they came back to either draw 4-4 or win 5-4, I think draw but I might be wrong.}

3.) 10 Nov 2021 18:46:28
Thats unreal will have to read up on that.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know if it has ever happened anywhere in a top professional league before, a manager getting MOTM?}

4.) 10 Nov 2021 19:00:36
Nope can't say I've ever heard of such a thing. Shame about the state of Shalke these days for such a big club. He must only be in his mid to late 30s at best just now as well.

{Ed001's Note - I think he is 36.}

10 Nov 2021 18:04:09
First things first, hopefully Wilson and the board will have their fingers on the pulse and perhaps try and still bring in one or two targets identified in January for nominal fees as we have done in prior Jan windows to steady and strengthen the squad whilst making it clear no one will be leaving, keeps the squad strong and fresh and then come the end of the season if we have guaranteed champs league football then at least we can demand top dollar for one or two. We can't afford to take our eyes off the big picture Gerrard or no Gerrard.

20 Oct 2021 18:19:37
Juan Algeria played some part in a closed doors game over the weekend, hopefully this means he is close to fitness and can kick on.

1.) 20 Oct 2021 18:27:09
Probably still a good bit away mate? But I hope I'm wrong.

2.) 20 Oct 2021 18:43:48
What happened with Alegria did he get injured or was he just realy unfit when we signed him?

3.) 20 Oct 2021 18:47:35
Probably mate wasn't given much to go on by this don't know how many minutes he got etc but hopefully he won't be too far away.

4.) 20 Oct 2021 18:50:14
He ain’t in squad for euro kids game tonight so might still be a wee bit away.

5.) 20 Oct 2021 21:53:08
Apparently him and McCann trained with 1st team today.

6.) 20 Oct 2021 21:54:21
Apparently both Alegria and McCann were training with the first team today (McCann wasn’t with the b team for tonight’s game either) .

7.) 20 Oct 2021 22:14:10
Storm and others alegria not eligible tonight, my info the kid was incredibly unfit
Mcann too old.

8.) 20 Oct 2021 22:40:41
Alegria and mccann were ineligible for tonight. No idea about fitness issues tho. Great result for the kids again. Hopefully sign of things to come.

9.) 21 Oct 2021 07:01:16
Incredibly unfit? why? Is it a thing with Columbians that they don't see the importance of looking after themselves or was he injured? Alf carries too much weight at times.

10.) 21 Oct 2021 10:46:41
If he’s that unfit how did he play and score in a b team game last month? Not doubting any of you guys but I’m curious as to why the rangers staff saw him in training and deemed him to be fit enough to play in that game but has since been not fit enough to play in any other game?

11.) 21 Oct 2021 11:40:11
Broxi he played 12 minutes,
Broxi can u tell us the reason he is not playing then.

Vipbox does the job for me, plus I gives you a choice for English commentary for a lot of foreign games which hesgoal never did but agree with the above iptv is the best option out the lot I'm just on a budget (or miserable as the Mrs says) for a couple of weeks 😂.

Skov Olsen is on between £1.4-£1.5million per annum on his current contract which expires June 2024, equating to approx 28k a week, so part of what you're hearing coops is single fish pal, but I still hope we could get this one over the line.

Some people don't think before they spout their noise Ed001. Made all the sense in the world why we kept Firth and like you Ed I don't believe you can recall players outwith a window.

Barca agreed personal terms with Feran Torres from Man City before both clubs had agreed a deal, so that is complete incorrect. I believe it's only illegal or "tapping up" if a club tries to enter into negotiations with an agent/ plAyer without first at least contacting his club, bosmans excluded.

Seen a couple games on hesgoal barrow that has came through with the opposition TV commentary, I like most on here would love to give the club my money directly as often as possible but it's not always feasible. Not everyone's pockets are lined.

I believe Gio has had 3 or 4 of the young lads training with the 1st team squad a couple of days a week mate, but I'd be looking to sign a quality player, love seeing youth given a chance but we need someone who can step in and add quality and hit the ground running.

I understand the value both players have to us John mate but I do have to respectfully disagree with you there, if our scouting department does their jobs correctly then there are quality players out there for a smaller value, but I do understand where you're coming from.

We will have a budget going forward for both good and bad outcomes this summer, i'd be inclined to hope the majority of us are hoping it's the good outcome. Yes, Davis and Mcgregor are quality, but they can't go on forever and we need to be looking at long term replacements. And I'm meaning it's nonsense to think that we wouldn't be reinvesting good quality additions in the squad come summer.
