Linked with Arnaud Bodart, liege keeper.

Would imagine butland will be away. 15-20m and he has to go. We've been far too sentimental over the years and it's cost us an absolute fortune.

We’re not getting anywhere near that for him am sure it was mentioned on here it’s a £5m clause ??‍♂️.

2.) 10 Apr 2024 11:47:44
No it's not.

3.) 10 Apr 2024 11:53:51
Does the clause actually exist?

4.) 10 Apr 2024 12:02:09
Ffs sake the 5mill clause again, only if it exists, which it probably doesn't, and the player wants to go would that happen, this has been discussed on here a million times.

5.) 10 Apr 2024 12:34:07
I said it was mentioned on here with a shrug of the shoulders as I don’t know I’d imagine only a few people actually know if there is or isn’t. Fact is we aren’t getting £15/ 20m for him.

6.) 10 Apr 2024 12:35:17
Would be very surprised if we got double figures for Butland, clause or no clause. He gets a decent contract offer he is off. (Will he though? )

7.) 10 Apr 2024 12:53:52
I originally posted I believed there was a clause. However forest offered more and it was rejected

It’s reputed rangers have set a 15 million price for butland.

8.) 10 Apr 2024 13:13:10
We apparently set a 15m minimum a few months ago. It was widely reported.

9.) 10 Apr 2024 14:59:54
John and tjn, saw that also?.

10.) 10 Apr 2024 15:54:05
Sell him for 15 if we are confident in the ability of a replacement, we can’t keep losing out on fees that could improve the squad and end up with players leaving for nothing.

11.) 10 Apr 2024 17:34:22
Raise, forest proved the clause doesn't exist.

12.) 10 Apr 2024 20:15:38
That’s the keeper that Roofe lobbed from the half way line. I don’t know what was more embarrassing that or the sight of him stretching the cramp out of his leg while he was lying on the deck. Yes a goalkeeper suffering from cramp. ?.

13.) 11 Apr 2024 17:33:48
Santa clause or sanity clause?

14.) 12 Apr 2024 13:05:50
Butland showed at Manchester United that money is not the main driving force or he would have signed a new contract to stay down South. I believe that being at a club where he enjoys his football and can win trophies is more of a motivator for him and in that respect hopefully he will stay with us and we bring in the quality needed to play alongside him so that we can get back to where we belong.

Gerrans wants tav and goldson according to tomorrows fish and chip wrappers.

If he could sort us out financially, the way he left us could be swept under the rug.

1.) 25 Apr 2024 08:22:23
Ill be heading straight for george sq again if he gives us good money for those 2.

2.) 25 Apr 2024 08:29:08
He left us after over 3 years good service. The board couldn't match his ambition I've no problem with him leaving to try and advance his career.

3.) 25 Apr 2024 09:16:58
I've no issue with the way Gerrard left.
It happens all the time in football. Naïve to suggest otherwise.
But if he could convince Tav and Goldson to join him in Saudi and we've received decent fees for both he would have my upmost respect again for everything he done for the club.

4.) 25 Apr 2024 10:29:51
According to transfer they are valued at 6 and 7 million.

Around 13m for both, (although a little sprinkling of Saudi gold on top would be nice)

I'd certainly take to reinvest into the squad.

5.) 25 Apr 2024 11:03:27
For me, i will always remember steven gerrard fondly when he was the rangers manager ? Still believe if our board had backed his ambition to keep in front of celtic, he would have remained as our manager ?Not to mention he would have won us the league again, when postecoglu first became their manager, i've absolutely no doubt about that ?.

6.) 25 Apr 2024 11:40:51
That doesn't change the fact he left a week after saying he was happy, settled and focused on the semi final.

Hes proven leaving isn't the best decision. if he stayed he'd have been guaranteed replacing klopp this summer.

7.) 25 Apr 2024 12:01:34
Life/ football never runs smoothly tjn1872 these things happen mate ?.

8.) 25 Apr 2024 12:40:24
There is no way Gerrard staying at Rangers would guarantee him getting the Liverpool job.
Even at Rangers and having just won the title, he was miles away from getting the Liverpool job.

9.) 25 Apr 2024 12:40:58
SG won us 55 and stopped their 10, and for that, I will be eternally grateful.

If we're having a go at managers who leave us for someone else, then Souness's departure was a lot worse than Gerrard's. Souness chose to leave near the end of the campaign (regardless of how Murray said it was his decision not to let him stay on) when we were fighting for the league, and we were lucky we had the gaffer to step in. For me, that trumps anything you believe SG done.

10.) 25 Apr 2024 12:59:51
Gerrard fled like a rat, can't believe people are defending the way he left.

11.) 25 Apr 2024 13:18:35
I've nothing but respect for Gerrard. when he arrived the 10 iar seemed inevitable.

12.) 25 Apr 2024 14:32:09
Calm down, Coldo.
Rat is a bit OTT.

13.) 25 Apr 2024 15:28:06
Rat? Jesus wept!

14.) 25 Apr 2024 16:04:43
Didn’t realize coldo was back suppose read his posts not hard to work out “2 up front”.

15.) 25 Apr 2024 16:18:08
SG helped re-build our club. He couldn't believe the shambles the 'back of the house' was in. He set about remodelling it again to old standards which were very similar to liverpool's.

For that alone he has my eternal gratitude, never mind him stopping 10IAR.

The way he left was a bit sore at the time hut he had plenty of goodwill chips to cash in.

16.) 25 Apr 2024 17:22:12
I hold very little regard to gerrard, a man that goes against his word.

It was absolutely no coincidence that gerrard and klopps contracts were due to expire on the same day.

Hes half the man GVB was. GVB wouldve killed and died for the club.

17.) 25 Apr 2024 17:25:20
I blame the Rangers Board for Gerrard leaving. He highlighted the quality of the player he wanted signed. We should have been building on a Championship winning team. We didn't.
I still believe that if he had been backed then he would have stayed with us and I also believe that he would heave retained the League Title.
All of the above said, if he gave us a large bag of money for Goldson and Tav, I would be absolutely delighted. Maybe he should convince an Arab Sheik to buy the Club, that would be equally acceptable for me.

18.) 25 Apr 2024 18:52:06
Sg left during an int break and didn't say goodbye to. many of the players or staff also but I believe if he'd staid he'd be in the frame for Liverpool job.

19.) 26 Apr 2024 09:55:07
Have to disagree with MPH slightly - I wasnt happy with Gerards style of exit. Agree no room for sentiment in business, but always room for respect. Skulking out of Ibrox under the cover of darkness …. No way for a man of his calibre to leave.

Ironically I seem to remember a certain young lad called Patterson left soon after, but his exit tweet showed Gerard how to leave a club with thanks, grace and dignity.

I seen a tweet predicting this purely because of a trend.

Unsure I believe it unless we have a major cull of the squad alongside champions league football.

He hasn't plugged himself for anything, he had literally and consistently said he wants back into the game. that's all. His own academy is excellent, he is absolutely fantastic with young players and regarded well on the Uefa licence courses.

Patterson, King, mccausland and lowry are products of the year group he took.

He won league 2 at an absolute canter, and is an excellent coach.

We rejected 18m for morelos and 10m for kent.

I'd say that's our fault.

Only way you work a 2 up top is if you're totally rigid at the back, ie, Italian.

442 has tried making a comeback but it doesn't work.

4312 is useless. Beale tried it.
