Our lack of attacking options is alarming. With Matondo, Cortes and Danilo out we have no pace at all. Everything gets slowed down because we don't have anyone who can go past a man. We couldn't even bring on a pacy forward from the bench to stretch them. This has to be the focus in January for signings.

As my son pointed out to me earlier, we have 4 defenders, 2 defensive mids, that only leaves 4 to attack, which is ridiculous, especially at home!

Probably the thinking is the 2 fullbacks should be bombing forward making it 6 attacking.

Agree Alloa but Tavernier's days of bombing past anyone are over. Jefte is capable but if the opposition drop back quickly it won't matter how quick any of our full backs are because there's no space to go into.

Don’t think it’s as simple as just 4 players attacking. The amount of players attacking isn’t the problem, 2 full backs plus a holding midfielder or two holding midfielders. The only two players usually not attacking are the centre halfs.

firstly we were poor but defensively they didn't really threaten us much.
one of the FBs goes forward and the other sits or tucks in. the winger cutting inside should create the space for the FB to overlap. so we would have at least 5 going forward. also when Dio plays he is more attacking than Raskin. PC subbed him I reckon because he wants to sit and play square passes. Barron gets forward as well and swaps with Dio. the style is attacking enough but the players didn't manage that as well today. we played the same style on Thursday and it worked so why do people think it is a problem today.

Just read another thread where someone is saying we don't have anyone back apart from the two CBs and Barron dropping in. funny how everyone sees what is happening differently.

It’s frustrating because it was designed to overturn “clear and obvious errors” yet it’s actually being used to re-referee matches. If you need to freeze frame or slow no something it’s not a clear and obvious error.
I’d keep it for offside only. That should be factual, everything else - handball, fouls, etc - is open to interpretation and you’ll always be able to argue for/ against.

That’s the keeper that Roofe lobbed from the half way line. I don’t know what was more embarrassing that or the sight of him stretching the cramp out of his leg while he was lying on the deck. Yes a goalkeeper suffering from cramp. ?.

Spoken to a few of my Aberdeen supporting friends and work colleagues and most of them say we’re welcome to Barron as they don’t think he’s good enough for Rangers. They weren’t saying that about Jack or even Wright so I think that maybe tells its own story.

Scott Carson is Man City 3rd keeper. He wasn’t good enough at his peak never mind now but he ticks the box for European squad registration and he’s an experienced keeper to call on in disaster circumstances. That’s how it works these days.
Nobody is saying we would be signing Kelly to be first pick and possibly not even 2nd (assuming McCrorie stays) .

Agree with that. Ridvan and Raskin when fully fit and playing well have the potential to bring in decent money but continuous injuries will mean we won't get much for them, if anything. Very much like too many of the players we've had recently.

I still think we need another striker regardless of anyone leaving as we only have Dessers and Danilo who is still working back to fitness. There’s no way the two of them will be available every game so who else do we have? Sounds like Igamane is months away from being anywhere near ready.

Whenever I see that a player is linked to both sides of the Old Firm I assume that it’s the agent trying to get higher wages/ better move or the selling club trying to drive up the fee.

Unless Clemente is going to change formation from the 4-2-3-1 that he has played in virtually every single game since he took over, we won’t sign Henderson. There’s no way he could cope with all the running required.
