Been told that PC has advised McKinnon and Yefeko they are to move to first team dressing room on return from training camp.

John i would assum that Zak Lovelace will be with the B team when he returns from his Injury to get him match time and get him back up to speed with the Senior team but once fit again will drift into the first team picture.

U probably remember me saying I’m a big fan of McKinnon and I feel he has something to offer the club going forward, even if it’s as a squad player I truly think he’s a good player.
He could replace Ryan jack in the squad no problem atall.
These kids need trust and mins if they’re to make it.

Be interesting to see if he’ll be a fullback or a centre half for clement
Copland5 I kind of expected this with Lovelace mate, it’s near in impossible for a young striker to make it at the old firm. They rarely get the chance they need.

Hopefully we give Lovelace a chance when he gets fit and this might make him want to stay . Stevens has just stepped up to B team so he can hardly be expecting to be in the first team already. Maybe their heads have been turned, away with England squads. Does seem strange that we signed them in the summer of 22 and their contracts are up this summer .2 year deals seem a bit short. They should be very careful about walking away, a number of boys have done this over the last couple of seasons and done nothing . It would be helpful right enough if we had a league that our youngsters could play in.

In fairness, I’ve always liked Cole McKinnon too. Did well for the B team and the games I seen him at the RTC. Lost his place for Partick last season, for whatever reason. A box to box midfielder.
I do think not signing Barron would be a huge mistake though. He’ll end up being another one in years to come that people will say we should have signed. Just my opinion of course. I’ve seen a lot of him.

Archie Steven’s is a bigger loss IMO, great talent and he’ll have a good few options down south.

Spoken to a few of my Aberdeen supporting friends and work colleagues and most of them say we’re welcome to Barron as they don’t think he’s good enough for Rangers. They weren’t saying that about Jack or even Wright so I think that maybe tells its own story.

My knowledge of Barron is based on other people’s opinions and replorts I hadn’t even noticed the boy u til a mo month or so ago.
If it’s a toss up with signing him and giving coke McKinnon his chance in the team then if so the latter.
On the other hand why can’t we do both? Sign Barron on a pre and if he comes I and doesn’t make it with us we sell him on, if he does then it’s a squad game. More Scot’s the better and the strongest survive
Glad to hear manager rated McKinnon ok over the moon with that news.

Article on Rangers club website dated June 2023 where Archie Steven’s stated that he signed a 3 year contract. Good opportunity to get a larger fee is there is a lot of interest although would be disappointed to see him leave if it happens. Also more time to persuade him and give him opportunities that may see him extend his stay.

Sure it was Steven Davis that brought Mcausland into the main squad while Interim manager, clearly spotting his talent, credit where it's due.
