I seen a post from a Dutch journalist on X earlier, saying that Vitesse want €3m for Manhoef this window.
Now seeing reports saying Mainz may possibly want Matondo on loan for the rest of the season.
Both just rumours, but maybe this could work. Matondo is on a good wage and let's be honest, he's never taken his chance. We clearly have interest in Manhoef, so could both deals happen? Manhoef on one wing and Cortes on the other. New striker through the middle (ON PAPER, would be delighted) .

Storm, I’m fully aware that Manhoef probably won’t be signed. Was just meaning in an ideal world. Cortes seems to score more on the left. The stats say he’s more direct in terms of going into the box from the left. Could quite easily play there and Manhoef on the left. Farzam Abolhosseini, the Danish Journalist, has confirmed that Diomande has signed for Rangers on loan just now, and he will join permanently in the summer. £4.5m in the summer. This makes more sense. An excellent deal.

The chap seems to have said that the option to buy, will become an obligation if Hellas stay in Serie A. Which I suppose makes a little more sense. Given they're in the relegation places now it seems to certainty at all.
I think this might well be indicative that we're not looking to spend a lot of cash in this window (e. g. the Ridvan fee is being used to reinvest yet) . All in all it seems an odd deal to me, but I have faith in the manager - though I'd be a little concerned if its Barisic and Yfeko that are our options at LB for the rest of the season.

I think it’s a good deal.
Puts him in the shop window in a top 5 league where he will come up against some of the best, he’ll also learn to be a better defender with the coaching in Italy.
If the deal doesn’t happen he will come a far better player.
He also may attract interest from bigger clubs and command a higher fee.
I think it’s a better idea than selling for a straight £3m.

Barisic is injured, Yefeko will be our 2nd choice LB until he s fit again, with Ridvan as 1st choice, a new LB will be brought in during next summer transfer window, no doubt Koppen and Clement are sorting that out now.
Be a fair size rebuild happening in the summer, Clement and Koppen don't seem like they will jump at any option they will only make a move if it the right quality of player that has talent and is right for the system PC prefers.
I don't see us signing Sima either, Brighton are clearly loaning him out to different clubs each season with the idea of developing him and gaining experience in different leagues / Countries, they will either extend his contract and if he hits his potential will be ready to play in the EPL in a 1-2 seasons, unless Brighton are offered silly money he is going nowhere.
The development team at Brighton are very happy with Simas form so far at Rangers as opposed to how his last loan worked out at Angers, he will be recalled and loaned out to another club next season, same as he has the last 3 seasons since Brighton bought him from Sparta Prague for 8 mill, Sparta bought Bought Sima for 115k from another Czech, Simas value went from 115k to 11 mill in 1 season, if he keeps going the way he is this season he will be worth 10-15 mill by seasons end, we are no position to buy him or any player for that amount.
Lets enjoy his talents while we can.

Crazy that so many on here can't see Yilmaz clear qualities,
was he really injured all the time he has been out or was that a club tactic to block the contract add on payments, not like a club hasn't done that before, held a player back so they don't meet the contract bonus payment targets?
Letting a young talented player like that go seems to be our real player trading model looks like, Bassey, Patterson, clubs hell bent on going backwards it seems.

Just a theory here of what the board might consider; Kevin Muscat will end up being offered the job until the end of the season with a review and possibility to extend his contract as manager. This would allow us to find and hire a director of football. Muscat's contract is up in January. He'd be cheap. Plays Postecoglou's style of play and formation.
This I feel would be an option to our board. Not the one I'd choose, but realistic for sure.
He wouldn't be at the top of my list though.
I'd have Potter, Knutsen and Gallardo ahead of him. All three might be unrealistic, but listen, no harm in trying, we need the best man for the job.

Muscat is being tipped for EPL jobs by Ange. His record in Japan is good. His stock is rising and walking into a job 7 points behind and he’ll be sacked next summer isn’t a job he's take.
He certainly wouldn’t take it on a short-term contract either. There will already be other teams out there willing to offer him more money and job security.
I don’t think any of your suggestions would realistically come here under these circumstances. I suspect the board will be secretly hoping Davis can get us to January at least. This team can it be rebuilt and half the squad is inured. Few would accept the job now. So it makes sense to try and kick the can down the road. Maybe the board plan to throw guys at the wolves until now and then as they did Murty.
We’ll just need to wait and see. I fear the worst.

Storm, I’m fully aware that Manhoef probably won’t be signed. Was just meaning in an ideal world. Cortes seems to score more on the left. The stats say he’s more direct in terms of going into the box from the left. Could quite easily play there and Manhoef on the left. I do doubt it would happen, but it’s maybe an option for the summer IF everything falls into place.

Hopefully the two deals we are working on today can get done. The striker is a big one. Been stressing out all morning with the lack of noise, but I know we will be working away in the background. These last hours are massive for our season I think.
