RFC news on YouTube (not the best source) is saying the potential new CEO from St Mirren is apparently a Celtic fan! Anyone know if this is true?
Hopefully it's just confusion from the guy that briefly got the commercial manager role thing.
1.) 19 Aug 2024 08:57:02
It is rubbish, he is in fact a Rangers man.
2.) 19 Aug 2024 09:02:08
Ummm he’s a pretty well known massive Rangers fan.
3.) 19 Aug 2024 09:07:50
Everything I seen last week indicated he was a bluenose but you never know.
4.) 19 Aug 2024 09:08:43
A load of Jimmy White! Seriously, what part of "lifelong Rangers fan", do some not get?!
5.) 19 Aug 2024 09:13:59
Gillepsie is a Rangers fan 100%. Whether or not he's right man for the job is another thing.
6.) 19 Aug 2024 09:21:37
Not true he's a rangers fan.
7.) 19 Aug 2024 09:31:36
The st. mirren vice chairman I can assure you ain't a celtic fan Sir walter ?Jim gillespie is a big rangers fan mate ??? I believe he's also the part owner or maybe even majority owner of st. mitren ?.
8.) 19 Aug 2024 09:32:30
Gillespie is definitely a bluenose.
9.) 19 Aug 2024 09:44:12
That is Not The Case as the boy that has been linked to our CEO position is a Rangers fan but that doesn, t matter as long as the person that gets appointed does a good job and gets the running of the club spot on.
10.) 19 Aug 2024 10:05:54
Speaking to someone at the weekend who lives in the same area as his family and they are of the opinion they are all rangers fans.
11.) 19 Aug 2024 10:14:57
He's a bluenose.
12.) 19 Aug 2024 10:16:47
guys a rangers man.
13.) 19 Aug 2024 10:18:54
Couldn’t be anymore wrong he’s a bluenose.
14.) 19 Aug 2024 10:19:24
Gillespie is a Rangers supporter SW.
15.) 19 Aug 2024 10:29:59
Heard he's a blue nose, but main thing is wether he can do job or not!
16.) 19 Aug 2024 10:31:07
Sir Walter, I've heard the opposite and that he is a Rangers fan.
17.) 19 Aug 2024 10:39:34
Green schiedt.
18.) 19 Aug 2024 10:52:16
I don’t care what team they supported as long as they are good at their job and they haven’t blasted rangers or rangers fans on social media in the past.
19.) 19 Aug 2024 10:58:29
It's all going nuts on here, even the current board are not daft enough to select a celtic fan . you might think . Declans and Bernadettes at it again possibly.
20.) 19 Aug 2024 12:05:47
Walter, James Gillespie has a small shareholding in st mirren due to participation in fans ownership of the club
The majority ownership of the clubs is a fans group.
21.) 19 Aug 2024 13:28:15
Hope we don't get same people on here telling us how wonderful these people are for the club before they've even done anything to be judged on.
22.) 19 Aug 2024 13:40:04
Is there a conflict of interest John? Will he be required to sell his shares?
23.) 19 Aug 2024 13:45:53
I think he probably has done things to be judged on . let me check . yes he has many things so that's sorted .
24.) 19 Aug 2024 17:00:44
Quite a lot of tubes on that site talking nonsense about Rangers.
25.) 19 Aug 2024 22:55:28
Moffat read the post again I said before he's done anything for our club
Not what he's done for others.
19 Jan 2024 18:50:42
I don't claim to have any inside sources, but a well-oiled bear i was talking to in my local Wetherspoons this afternoon claimed to be well in the know.
This is either 100% true or 100% bull but with the amount of detail he went into he managed to be very convincing even while slurring his words.
According to my drunk friend, rangers have agreed an option/ obligation to buy deal with Brighton for sima.
Option to buy for £8m but just like the tilman deal, Brighton can cancel the option if they compensate us £2m
Obligation to buy for £10m with add on's potentially rising to £12m if we qualify for the champions league group stage via any one of our 3 options
Win the league
Or
Finish 2nd and qualify via the highest co-efficient scenario
Or
Quality via the play offs
Has anyone else heard this?
1.) 19 Jan 2024 19:24:47
I see a lot of paper talk saying we’re going to offer the money for him wasn’t sure if any truth in it
He’s been a good player and I like him and think I’d be happy to get him permanently as I think he will get better more he settles in up here?
2.) 19 Jan 2024 19:41:25
If we pay 12m for sima we should just Chuck it. Utter crazy talk.
3.) 19 Jan 2024 19:41:33
He’s not worth that money.
4.) 19 Jan 2024 19:42:25
He’s going into the last 12 months of his contract come the summer.
Was t great in France last season and hasn’t made the grade in England
His goals return is very good but his general performances haven’t been worthy of that kind of fee.
I believe he’s worth £5-6m .
We won’t offer 8-10 I don’t see it.
5.) 19 Jan 2024 19:49:46
I don’t think he’s worth anything like £8m.
6.) 19 Jan 2024 20:08:51
I like Sima but he ain't worth that. Doubt we will pay half that tbh.
7.) 19 Jan 2024 21:18:53
I wouldn’t pay £8 million for Sima.
8.) 19 Jan 2024 21:37:01
For as much as Sima doing ok not worth that sort of money . Sure we cd get better for less if not coming from English league . Scouting network has to do its job . Not sure we can afford to spend that amount on one player.
9.) 19 Jan 2024 22:09:46
Brighton paid 8 mill euros plus 4 mill in add on clauses, so potentially 12 million if those add on conditions were met.
Hence the constant loans, to avoid the add ons.
Exactly the same as we have done with Yilmaz, which makes sense why he would be unhappy at
Ranger will not pay 8 mill plus 4 mill in add ons for a attacker that has 12 months left on his contract once his loan finishes.
more like 4-5 million will be our offer.
I would like to see Sima play as CF with Silva as a 10 behind him, with Matondo on the LW and Mcausland on the RW.
Sima has so much composure and confidence when in on goal, it's a no brainer to move him into CF once he is back from AFCON.
10.) 19 Jan 2024 22:53:11
I think Sima does a job for us but I’d much prefer proper wingers who can carry the ball and beat a man. If we don’t bring in a striker I’d like to see what Sima could do there once he’s back.
11.) 20 Jan 2024 01:14:27
Sima is hardly beeing played in the Senegal AFCON squad, completely left out of the squad for the next game.
Club record
played 113 scored 37, averaging 1 goal per 3 games.
However if you look at teams where Sima has been played regularly .
Slavia Prague 39 games 16 goals.
Glasgow Rangers 33 games 15 goals and counting ;D.
09 Sep 2023 18:26:23
I heard today that Scotty Arfield wants to come back to us on loan in January.
His wife hates it out there
Source is a mate of arfeild.
1.) 09 Sep 2023 19:11:06
I can confirm straight from horses mouth this is nonsense.
2.) 09 Sep 2023 19:28:54
Well that would be an embarrassment resigning a 34 year old who wasn’t even a starter when he was last here.
3.) 09 Sep 2023 19:49:53
100% can not happen. Were not a charity case cause his missus not liking it. Was time to move on.
4.) 09 Sep 2023 19:59:15
Loved Arfield, but don't think we should bring him back.
5.) 09 Sep 2023 20:10:10
Sir Walter I hope not. We are trying to move forward.
6.) 09 Sep 2023 20:12:56
Good player, but his time is up.
7.) 10 Sep 2023 10:39:18
His time has gone but certainly the type of player we need.
8.) 10 Sep 2023 13:01:34
He might get a loan move back to a Scottish club, but it won`t be to us . His time with us is over, unfortunately.
07 Aug 2023 17:23:55
Could well be Colin Nish but my jambo mate was showing me a rumour on a hearts fan forum that said we are looking to cancel the lowery loan already?
1.) 07 Aug 2023 17:38:41
No chance doubt we’d even be allowed to.
2.) 07 Aug 2023 17:43:47
I hope not, he needs the game time and Hearts are perfect for him right now - maybe see what happens come January.
3.) 07 Aug 2023 17:47:21
We can get him back in jan.
4.) 07 Aug 2023 17:51:46
At first sight I though Jester was linking us with ColinNish now ?.
5.) 07 Aug 2023 18:34:07
Cannot legally break the contract, recall option in January.
6.) 07 Aug 2023 18:47:24
I'm sure I read that a loan has to be window to window . don't know how that's affected with window still being open.
7.) 07 Aug 2023 19:08:51
Better he stays at Hearts until January and gets game time. You never know, by the time January comes around we might have a new manager!
8.) 07 Aug 2023 19:08:54
Anyone else getting fed up with the word 'window '?
9.) 07 Aug 2023 19:21:19
cannot see it unless there is a huge injury crisis.
10.) 07 Aug 2023 19:34:49
Why would the word WINDOW upset you?
11.) 07 Aug 2023 20:11:27
One game for Hearts and we're cancelling his loan? . SURE!
12.) 07 Aug 2023 20:39:35
I didn’t think it was possible to get him back after one game, just passing on what I was shown from a jambo co worker.
13.) 07 Aug 2023 21:26:10
The rule seems to be "can invariably recall a player from loan" whether a club who have been loaned the player can cancel is decided on a case by case basis. So yes Rangers can recall at any time would be the answer.
14.) 07 Aug 2023 21:49:41
Yup Kelso getting tired of window as well I would change it to veranda or something nicer. But be careful you have upset the resident troll / halfwit.
15.) 07 Aug 2023 23:04:03
Rangers could have an injury crisis tomorrow. I’m certain it will be written into this loan deal that the player can be recalled at any time. The only problem is that a player cannot play for more than 2 clubs in a single season so Lowry would be stuck at Rangers until next summer. Lowry would be much better at Hearts playing regular football, than doing nothing at Ibrox.
On a related note I read Lewis Mayo had more clean sheets than any other player in the SPFL last season. Is that true? I still cannot believe we let that boy go. Kilmarnock signed 10 players and the only one they paid something for was Mayo and it would’ve been next to nothing. Let’s just hope itks not another Greg Taylor situation whereby he leaves our academy and is worth millions a few years later. I expect that will happen with McCrorie after he leaves. What a mess.
16.) 08 Aug 2023 08:38:49
Recall at any time.
17.) 08 Aug 2023 15:50:23
I'll be relieved when that transfer veranda finally closes ??.
18.) 08 Aug 2023 17:31:58
No it's to be the transfer 1 bed bungalow or ranch door now, I really liked "caravan " with the Saudi's so heavily involved .
18 Jan 2019 11:12:17
Any word on a permanent deal for Kent? Not heard much recently
I’m worried he has a blistering 2nd half of the season and we get priced out from an epl team.
1.) 18 Jan 2019 17:13:06
Either way sir walter, we have to hope that he does have a blistering second half of the season. I hope we can get him permanently, he seems very keen to stayðŸ‘.
2.) 18 Jan 2019 20:47:04
I hope so Coldo! That’s why I’d rather see the deal done now.
3.) 18 Jan 2019 22:00:00
I’d be worried long term, but a blistering second half of the season would be ideal for our title credentials.
I guesstimate Liverpool want to see how he progresses before making a decision at the end of the season and there’s a strong chance we will get him on loan for additional 12m at worst.
4.) 19 Jan 2019 00:37:06
You sound like your telling yourself things you hope to hear and you've convinced yourself.
5.) 19 Jan 2019 08:42:39
Or that Iv read the reports in the media stating we will revisit the situation at the end of the season.
Or the fact we have said we want him and he is happy to be here, which means he is either signed permanently if deal can be struck, or is sent out on additional loan spell again as Liverpool are happy with his progress.
Playing great in SPFL usually means you don’t break into the very top sides in BPL just ask Patrick Roberts.
Only time BPL clubs take players performing well in our league is when they are a mid table team.
He wasn’t great on loan in Championship last season so I’d imagine Liverpool would sell or loan him back.
6.) 19 Jan 2019 09:39:39
He isn’t and will never be good enough for Liverpool I reckon we are his level so hopefully he will stay. Sure Liverpool won’t ask too much for him.

If we were in a healthy financial position I’d agree with you big dado but unfortunately a boycott would probably force the boards hand to downgrade on ambition. I like many others are getting bored with ploughing my hard earned money into all things rangers without seeing it spent wisely but I’m afraid it’s our hard earned money that keeps the club going these days .
Still kills me that we didn’t spend a few quid on a striker or any decent upgrade last year because we would’ve probably won the league last season and probably would’ve pumped dortmund again ;)
13 Aug 2024 19:13:20
Agree mark44. Average players on 25k+ are far to comfortable and possibly loose focus. Young hungry and skint is what wee need haha . You want to earn the big bucks you need to preform and earn a move to a top league!
01 Aug 2024 20:58:52
Now we need the Pröpper Robben.
29 Jul 2024 20:33:40
5k per week with decent performance bonus!
1 year rolling contract
If he fancies himself as a player still what’s wrong with that?
We can’t and won’t pay for someone’s retirement.
29 Jul 2024 20:31:40
I think the Goodson deal will be a shocker for our club so shocking they’re holding off announcing it until they have good news for us fans . That was probably the Jordan deal which is now dead in the water but if he plays for aris in their friendly then it’s obviously a done deal.
