The club has taken out a unspecified loan against future transfers Rangers Review.
1.) 11 Mar 2025 20:13:14
I don't understand why they would do that when we are trying to get rid of debt for the new owners.
2.) 11 Mar 2025 20:34:26
I just saw that. How would prospective new owners view that? I hope this board don't make this takeover too difficult that they might walk away. How much of a loan. Worrying if this falls apart.
3.) 11 Mar 2025 20:40:48
The 49ers have agreed to this, I guess?
People will think its the start of a
slippery slope.
4.) 11 Mar 2025 20:48:21
From what I've read we've taken a loan from a bank for receipt of fees the club are already owed. Example if we've 5m to recieve in June for a player the bank give the club 4m now and get paid the money by the other club. Obv these figures are for example but it could be directors don't want to. put more money into the club if it's being bought so this is a way the club can generate money sooner rather than later. BTW the bank we've taken the loan ftom john Bennett said previously the club wouldn't deal with or banks similar because of the higher interest rates.
5.) 11 Mar 2025 21:01:50
If you look at the accounts from last financial year, we have a secured line of debt from the directors to call upon throughout the season.
Down side to this route of financing is that it converts to shares, dilutes the value of the club and complicates the takeover.
This method seems a cleaner simpler short terms solution.
6.) 11 Mar 2025 21:33:33
In what way does it dilute the value of the club? Not sure that is correct. Dilution normally means your share is worth less as more shares have been issued. The market cap will stay the same.
7.) 11 Mar 2025 22:01:41
Yes worrrrying times, it is alleged we have de faulted on loan payments, which I would find surprising.
8.) 11 Mar 2025 22:06:50
I have been told the takeover is in trouble, the club is struggling now to get cash.
9.) 11 Mar 2025 22:09:52
Cullin, when we convert debt to shares we are increasing the number of shares without increasing the value of the club.
10.) 11 Mar 2025 22:23:19
Absolute baws @garylawn, timmy in the making there.
11.) 11 Mar 2025 22:30:42
Garylawn, hmmmm, new user name, expert on gers finances, what a surprise!
12.) 11 Mar 2025 22:30:59
EHL, I am well aware of that, I asked how you thought it diluted the value of the club though.
13.) 11 Mar 2025 22:31:29
Its simple and exactly what ehl said if you create more shares ownership works on percentages depending on what they want to do with the club
Either way i think this means bad things for club.
14.) 11 Mar 2025 22:35:52
EHL, you are talking about diluting ownership, not the value of the club. They're not the same. If anything conversion of debt to shares is generally good as the clubs liabilities decrease, and equity increases.
15.) 11 Mar 2025 22:44:15
Gary is a Timothy.
16.) 11 Mar 2025 22:46:11
Always cracks me up when these things are debated.
I am by no means a financial expert, I was simply sharing what I was told by people at the club who are.
I double checked with them that I didn't pick them up incorrectly to my surprise I appear to have summarised it pretty well.
If you guys want to argue semantics or share a different view point - have at it.
17.) 11 Mar 2025 22:48:05
Rfc 55 love your response because u don't like what I have heard u respond like that get a grip mate.
18.) 11 Mar 2025 23:32:27
Continuous share issues are normally conducted by companies with cash issues, so yes, externally can be seen as a going concern and can impact value if the business.
Looks to be more expensive form of obtaining cash but if we're going through a sale, can understand why we can't get cash from directors.
19.) 12 Mar 2025 00:00:38
Not that The Sun is necessarily credible, but it does provide a reassuring explanation of the circumstances, indicating that borrowing against instalments from player sales is very common nowadays and has been used by a number of big English clubs in recent years. It suggests that whereas directors would previously have fronted up cash, which they would have been reimbursed to them when the instalments were paid, the current board are unlikely to be keen on that if they are selling up.
20.) 12 Mar 2025 00:41:53
Semantics? LMAO! Unbelievable.
21.) 12 Mar 2025 00:45:59
I said last month that the shares are to get loan money back in the takeover, common sense I would think on those who are still owed money by the club and getting it in shares to sell to new buyers, might be wrong but looks that way.
22.) 12 Mar 2025 06:24:12
Lots of clubs run an ongoing loan facility, yet here some are questioning a reply from EHL, who checked his post and got the information from the finance guys at the club. I know who I'm inclined to side with, as Asa said ignore the tabloid clickbait or the eastend financial advisors. Cautionary tale is John mentioning the alleged default on loan repayments, makes you wonder how this impacts us.
23.) 12 Mar 2025 08:12:58
Dilution reduces the value of the earnings per share meaning the 'value' of the club is reduced to a prospective investor. they will get les return on the shares they purchase. They would also have to buy more shares to achieve the 51% they wish to buy. so using the word 'value' to mean other than the price of the club so I suspect that is why EHL is using the word semantics.
24.) 12 Mar 2025 10:33:23
Agreed Angus. Get off Ehl's back. He's trying to bring us news and views. I'm minded to trust his views and perceptions.
25.) 12 Mar 2025 11:46:29
I read today that the money borrowed is against the funds due in from Fc Twente and Parma. Which would be money for Colak and Lammers. Whatever that amounts to.
26.) 12 Mar 2025 12:10:58
I'm just surprised to find out we have financial experts within the club.
27.) 12 Mar 2025 15:53:22
Looks like the info i got was wrong iam over the moon to be wrong let's hope by may all completed and happy.
18 Jan 2025 11:47:30
First signing down. Fernandes on loan with the option to buy.
1.) 18 Jan 2025 12:54:33
Not the signing I was expecting tbt A defender yes, but not this lad slightly disappointed, wish him all the best.
Shankland next if Dessers pees aff lol.
2.) 18 Jan 2025 13:23:47
Gvb, we've obviously been watching and interested in rafael fernandes for a period of time mate ? Don't doubt him until we've actually watched the young man playing for god's sake ?Give him a chance ?.
3.) 18 Jan 2025 13:24:18
I think this is the model from now on. we have experience at CH so we want youngsters to develop alongside them. we probably need an experienced CM to help young lads develop. according to Igamane I though I read Dessers was a great help to him. the way we will go: a lot of youth with a few experienced pros.
4.) 18 Jan 2025 13:30:27
Shankland to replace dessers is downgrading on a player that we needed to improve on.
5.) 18 Jan 2025 13:35:34
Good positive way to welcome the boy ? and then you want shankland in as well? Shows how much you know mate. I'll trust Koppen and no some guy on a forums opinion .
6.) 18 Jan 2025 13:44:58
GVB why you slightly disappointed? Who did you expect?
You haven't even seen the boy play.
7.) 18 Jan 2025 14:15:05
Nothing negative from me towards the boy, I'm just not sure I understand the signing. If we had signed him permanently rather than on loan it makes perfect sense as it's looking like this is the status of player going forward. But if it's to help out because our back line is bare bones, why bring in am unproven young centre back for six months. Why not bring in an experienced guy for 6 months? It's a head scratcher.
8.) 18 Jan 2025 14:24:54
I'm convinced some on here are actors.
9.) 18 Jan 2025 15:09:02
OrangeT because it's a six month loan to see if he's up to standard before committing to a purchase hence the option to buy being a part of the deal.
10.) 18 Jan 2025 15:12:56
OT. 6 months to see if he settles in the team and give PC a chance to look at and work with him. if he is as good as they think we sign him, if not he goes back. low risk signing strategy.
11.) 18 Jan 2025 15:13:20
rabbi if they are it is from panto.
12.) 18 Jan 2025 15:37:52
No it isnt?? sorry ?.
13.) 18 Jan 2025 16:54:39
Maldini, stormtrooper.
14.) 18 Jan 2025 17:20:23
My only concern is he match ready? Hasn't played much from what iv read but I like the fact we have an option to sign it gives the club 6 months to assess him.
15.) 18 Jan 2025 20:50:23
Nsiala meet Fernandes your new partner in defence ;D
Some Highlights of Fernandes on YT just make sure you type in Rafael and not Raphael lol.
Fernandes came through Sporting Lisbons youth system (for 7 years )
so he definately has quality and potential if they kept him that long before Lille jumped in and bought him.
Not getting a game at LOSC lille because he isn't any good,
it's because he is up against Lilles 1st choice CB's Bafodé Diakité (25 mill) Alexsandro Ribeiro (12 mill) and experienced CB's like Samuel Umtiti and Aïssa Mandi, considering Fernandes is their newest Young CB, that automatically makes him 5th choice.
Lille are currently 3rd and 1st team squad value around the 300 mill mark.
Fingers crossed he is the perfect partner for Nsiala and we unearth a future star.
16.) 18 Jan 2025 21:40:45
World of Football stats (not sure how reliable they are) has Fernandes rated as follows:
"Style of Play - Towering defender.
Strengths - Pace, Aerial duels, Natural fitness, Work rate, Determination.
Weaknesses - Agility.
Jumping 8/10
Heading 8/10
Speed 8/10
Work ethic 8/10
Bravery 8/10
Natural fitness 8/10
Concentration 7/10
Tackling 7/10
Marking 7/10
Positioning 7/10
Anticipation 7/10
Acceleration 7/10
Passing 7/10
Stamina 7/10
Balance 7/10
Decisions 6/10
Flair 6/10
Leadership 6/10
Vision 6/10
Crossing 6/10
Technique 6/10
Off the ball 6/10
Dribbling 5/10
Agility 5/10
Finishing 4/10
Longshots 4/10
Set Pieces 4/10
Injury prone 3/10
Weight 82 KG".
Watching the highlights (no indication of how he will play for us)
He likes to play out from the back, likes to surge forward with the ball and attack, has a very nice pass, solid tackles, has quick pace and is not shy to get stuck and win the ball back or strip an opponents atacker during counter attacks.
Can see this lad pairing up nicely with Nsiala 1 left footed CB and 1 right footed CB, both young raw talents from 2 respected clubs with quality youth setups both have came through, AC milan and LIlle.
17.) 18 Jan 2025 23:08:05
Prior post should have said
AC Milan and Sporting Lisbon's Youth academies.
18.) 19 Jan 2025 09:50:42
Loan to buy… because are we not paying the cash for Diomande, Cortes, Propper, tribunal fee for Barron. All within this financial term?
There won't be any 'paid for prior to july' signings this window. Loans, loan to buys and free. that's the market we are in for the forseeable, as we started that off last year as a way to guys in the door trying to turn over the shower of Sh*te we were left with after Beale was allowed to spaff the profits up the wall.
19.) 19 Jan 2025 16:17:53
Darth you are a tim and have been called out many of times on this.
12 Nov 2024 11:49:31
Looks like UEFA sent Rangers a warning about the Wage bill.
1.) 12 Nov 2024 12:28:18
More good news ?♂️.
2.) 12 Nov 2024 12:30:18
A football finance expert warned them no uefa.
3.) 12 Nov 2024 12:37:51
Apparently the email was full of wee laughing face emoji's as even Uefa couldn't believe the wages were paying for that quality of player.
4.) 12 Nov 2024 12:49:35
Was that not a "financial experts" rambling on the clickbait sites? Not seen any Official UEFA warning or correspondence any where.
5.) 12 Nov 2024 12:56:31
Just be more nonsense as Rangers are dealing with things that UEFA are looking for.
6.) 12 Nov 2024 13:12:47
Not sure where you are getting that from. Only thing being mentioned is some ‘football finance expert’ claiming that Rangers may be close to coming onto UEFA’s radar regarding their wage bill going by our latest accounts. Which by all accounts is something the club is already aware of, hence the wage cutting going on. Nothing anywhere saying we’ve been sent a warning from UEFA?
7.) 12 Nov 2024 13:18:46
Fraser tell me u r not fallen for click bait rubbish.
8.) 12 Nov 2024 14:06:10
Glasgow World it was John?.
9.) 12 Nov 2024 16:53:02
Yes Fork but if he had read the actual article he would have seen that at no point did it say that UEFA have said anything at all to us.
10.) 12 Nov 2024 16:59:40
Cheers fork, as my star points out the club are dealing with this hence the significant player salary cuts we are seeing, I suspect more to follow over next 18 months.
11.) 12 Nov 2024 17:42:58
No they didn't.
12.) 12 Nov 2024 17:48:25
Just let James Taylor deal with UEFA, I’m sure his Dad thought him how things work in there….
13.) 12 Nov 2024 17:49:41
I know Gers78? no worries John?.
14.) 12 Nov 2024 18:37:37
Probably one of the many Celtic sites that have never written about their own club, every thumbnail the have has our name on it , none of us needed a so called finance expert to tell us about the wage bill and this being the international break there will be plenty of more stories getting spouted.
15.) 12 Nov 2024 19:27:34
Can’t see it given the wage reductions made recently.
16.) 12 Nov 2024 23:11:30
Forecast drop in turnover for next financial year means there's still further reductions required.
Things are going to get uglier and it's all down to the wild decision to back Beale.
17.) 13 Nov 2024 06:58:37
Sounds worrying EHL, we might be struggling to make top 4 at this rate.
18.) 13 Nov 2024 10:21:46
Is the turnover forecast to drop? We should never be out of the top 2 in Scotland over the course of a season. Our turnover is like 60% higher than both of theirs combined. It's ridiculous to suggest that anything financial is a reason to anywhere other than at least second place.
19.) 13 Nov 2024 11:32:52
Both of theirs I meant Hearts and Aberdeen. Assuming Hearts perform like normal and would be in the top 4.
20.) 13 Nov 2024 12:53:50
Yeah, turnover is forecast to drop for two reasons.
Reduction of revenue from Ibrox works.
This is the first season in 4 years we've not had in excess of £10m from player sales.
21.) 13 Nov 2024 13:11:46
There are a few one off costs in this years accounts and the wage bill reduction isn`t included so provided we don`t start anymore unneeded building projects we should have better results. It won`t have the sale of The Albion either but we keep reading about improved sponsorship deals so that should help the finances and hopefully the team can make the knockout rounds of the Europa as well.
16 Aug 2024 11:37:52
Matondo will not be moving to Leeds United.
1.) 16 Aug 2024 12:05:15
Why not ?.
2.) 16 Aug 2024 12:30:44
Someone at Leeds called in a psychiatrist for the guy that suggested him?
3.) 16 Aug 2024 12:31:03
But Fras - we are TAKING him there???.
4.) 16 Aug 2024 12:37:26
Don't you dare take this dream away from us ?.
5.) 16 Aug 2024 12:43:02
Gustavo Puerta - is set to go to Brøndby - but hopefull if This is a player we are after he would go to us also because, Brøndby is out of The conference league Yesterday.
6.) 16 Aug 2024 12:54:44
Aw, go on!
7.) 16 Aug 2024 13:22:08
Cause he’s pish ?.
8.) 16 Aug 2024 13:32:33
Because they know he is rank rotten.
9.) 16 Aug 2024 13:42:02
Todd I'm guessing because he's rank rotten and only we are daft enough to pay him what we are.
10.) 16 Aug 2024 14:05:52
Rabbie is a weird one and similar to Dessers except that Dessers gets a lot more time on the pitch.
Matondo will score an absolute worldie then play crap for 10 games lol.
11.) 16 Aug 2024 14:16:48
Open the gates and let him sprint off the bench and right up the street to the bus station . £12m Schalke paid for this guy who needs that baby stabilizer thing to keep him upright, did Schalke get the culprit sectioned?
12.) 16 Aug 2024 14:28:11
Matondo is rank ??????.
13.) 16 Aug 2024 14:38:56
Think the lad at Schalke must've been watching Forrest Gump and thought Matondo could perform like that.
14.) 16 Aug 2024 14:44:26
So our potential front 3 of Matondo, Dessers and Wright are rank rotten. great stuff HAHA.
15.) 16 Aug 2024 15:37:29
The long and short of it is Matondo is incredibly quick, but not very god at football. I think he'd look a useful player in a league were he got more space to run in to. I can understand why a championship team would take a punt on him. He's done it down there before, he's still young, and he be relatively cheap option given how much some of them spend.
16.) 16 Aug 2024 16:17:10
My Mrs is breathing a huge sigh of relief she's and her family are Leeds fans,
17.) 16 Aug 2024 16:21:09
Moffat they paid for natural talent and potential. not living up to that I grant you but that’s why the figure was so high. The guy has unreal pace, can be great at finishing but just doesn’t seem to impact nearly enough.
18.) 16 Aug 2024 18:33:31
He can't go he's locked on Storms boot?.
19.) 16 Aug 2024 21:03:18
Solloof19 well they spaffed £11m so somebody can't assess natural talent and at £1m neither could the dumplin we had that identified him. He is shocking .
11 Jul 2024 17:31:27
Negotiations over Hampdump park are at the Final stages Bennett is intending to address the fans by the end of the Month.
1.) 11 Jul 2024 17:57:57
He's done it today.
2.) 11 Jul 2024 18:03:26
Season ticket holders will have a seat in a similar place to there seat at ibrox.
3.) 11 Jul 2024 18:07:23
Southend yes but he said he will make a proper statement end of july with more info.
4.) 11 Jul 2024 18:17:21
Its a hellish stadium.
5.) 11 Jul 2024 18:45:54
Southend Rangers that's just an email the one By the end of July will likely be an video one through many of the platforms including YouTube.
6.) 11 Jul 2024 19:17:27
Ok no worries. Seen the email while I was oit and thought that was it. No doubt I'll be stuck in a corner at hampden. ??♂️.
7.) 11 Jul 2024 19:51:13
If we have to play at Hampden so be it, it is not the SFA that has caused the problem, it is our board who have cocked up on this occasion. Let's just deal with it and be thankful we will have a similar capacity to play at.
8.) 12 Jul 2024 07:29:09
I'm not a fan of hampden either but we have to start being more respectful to rest of Scottish football even when they are not with us we have to be the bigger ones and try repair rifts to better help our future.
