Keep seeing Barrons name being mentioned with us, a few months ago it was supposedly a done deal signing him up on a pre contract, then I seen that Clement walked away from the deal as he wasnt want to be held to ransom, anyone know has this changed? and are we back negotiating with the player and agent? Just seems quite mixed reports on matter.

All I heard, and that was second hand, was that the agents were trying to fire up the signing on fee to an unacceptable level from our perspective. If the demands are realist, I’d like this one to happen. Sooner rather than later.

Not saw a great deal of him live but he looks a decent young player, I do think we need to try get young Scots coming through in to the squad, would much rather through our youth but sometimes not always possible.

Be good to hear if anyone is in the know about Barron. Lads a great young player and great prospect at only 21. He was very dynamic against them on Saturday and bossed there midfield second half. I hope we get him as he will certainly improve our team and go on to bigger things.

I don’t think McKinnon is as good as Barron. I’d like us to reevaluate the offer in summer. He will be on much less than Jack, however, we have even better in Rice on our books.

Lennon miller at Motherwell probably the best young Scottish player in the country atm.
We should sign him in the summer, take him with us for pre season tour etc to get feel for the club and loan him back to Motherwell for the season.
He’s going to be some player.
Him and rice could be Scotlands midfield for 10years in the next couple of years say 3/ 4 years time.

My understanding on Miller is he has signed pro terms with Motherwell, so unlike Rice, they can ask for top dollar for him and have already had enquiries from down south. Think they expect him to go for seven figures and doubt we'd pay that for a 17 year old.

Hes out of contract in summer would cost £200-300k compensation fee. Think he would be of interest especially with the home grown rules for Euro competitions just need to make sure we don’t sleep in as I’d imagine the likes of Hearts could offer him a deal and better chance of starting every week.

Miller signed a deal to 2026 late last year. BBC reported it. They want top dollar for him. Barron is much more achievable for less and is I think a really good wee player already.

I concur true blue 85, it's absolutely pathetic at times, I like to think I treat all different opinions atleast with a shred of decency, seems to be a lot of jealousy and bitterness between certain posters on here at times, like a point score element, we are all bears together man it's a simple concept, post rumours and discuss it with your fellow fans in a rational respectful manner it really is that simple.

Was speaking to a couple of the youth coaches yesterday and he can play both Centre Half and Central Midfield, and that adaptability is something Gio and his team are trying to imprint at all levels.
Be interesting to see how we line up with a full preseason under our belt.

From what I've been told the youth we are currently bringing in will be among the best in the country. If we can develop them we will follow the mould Ajax use with bringing in more than half the starting 11 via our academy. We already have 3 from the academy in the first team in mccann, lowry and King. Future looks great with all these youngsters.

Hagi frustrates the life out me gives away a lot of daft fouls, he has a good football brain but this special-ist delivery / passer thing is nonsense his shots or crosses mainly are rank rotten, he's good at threaded balls from central and has decent moments in behind the strikers but out wide for me he's an absolute waste of a shirt, slower than a week in jail . zero legs to track back. To his credit tho he always works hard and mucks in but we need far more from the wages he commands.
