Watford is supposed to have put in an offer of £2m for Borna, did they drop a "0" off the end because that seems ridiculously lo as an offer?

Hope we keep him, seems to really love the club.

1.) 04 Jan 2022 16:22:27
Tjm even worse is story that we valuing at 5 million.

2.) 04 Jan 2022 16:44:53
See irish Republican coleman let young Patterson know his celtic allegiance
Straight away bitter twit.

3.) 04 Jan 2022 16:57:12
Blues Brother, Coleman has never hidden his allegiances to the Dark side. He is a very good player, now in the twilight of his career but he was never very intelligent!

4.) 04 Jan 2022 16:58:40
Nathan will have the last laugh on that pronto when he takes his place in the everton team, go on NP👍.

5.) 04 Jan 2022 17:08:03
John how much would you say barasic is worth?

6.) 04 Jan 2022 17:13:25
2m is a shocking offer. They have clearly been told nowhere near as talks stopped dead.

7.) 04 Jan 2022 17:31:17
I just posted this also hopefully Ed’s catch it and delete it as no need.

I would say about 8 million for barasic would be a good price.

8.) 04 Jan 2022 17:32:44
I reckon if a serious bid of around £8m or £9m for borna then we would probably accept it.
I'm hoping he stays though as I think he's a great player with an excellent left foot.
🔴⚪🔵.

9.) 04 Jan 2022 17:36:05
No way we value him at 5million 😂 English clubs chance there luck all the time bet they get serious and double it still not enough for me enless a serious replacement is lined up would wait a year if possible but if bassey can improve his crossing in the next 6 month to a year then the no1 spot his his for me.

10.) 04 Jan 2022 17:39:16
I was thinking about 8 million.

11.) 04 Jan 2022 17:41:47
Watford can do one as their £2million offer for our croatian International left back is laughable so it is😂Borna barisic i rate very highly and he's without doubt one of my favourites and i don't want him to be sold, i don't mind admitting that🙏However i know money talks and every player has their price🤔IMO i would value borna at no less than £8million and its only as low as that because he's almost 30 years old now🤔He is the best left back and crosser of a football in scottish football with ease, with an absolute wand of a left peg👌I would hate for us to sell him and i don't agree with our club's £5million valuation of him🤔.

12.) 04 Jan 2022 17:48:23
I think Patterson was signed to take no1 spot Colman will end up at Celtic 😂.

13.) 04 Jan 2022 17:51:26
I think 8m is a decent price. He's 30 this year, and with a ready made replacement in Bassey, this would be good business.
If Borna goes John, is Maxwell good enough to be promoted to the 1st team as Bassey's understudy?

14.) 04 Jan 2022 17:53:45
2m for Barasic is laughable! Need to be looking at somewhere between 7-9m imo.

15.) 04 Jan 2022 18:07:19
I’d agree around 8 million for Barisic.

16.) 04 Jan 2022 18:09:12
BMG I’d say definitely re Maxwell. However looks like he is leaving.

17.) 04 Jan 2022 18:17:41
Borna is coming up for 30 and is no longer considered Croatia’s no1 LB the 5m valuation from our club is prob bang on the money. If reporting is accurate then it’s known what we will accept for Borna and at his age would be good business sense.

18.) 04 Jan 2022 18:26:22
Watford have just signed Hassane Kamara no fee yet but would expect it to be between 8-10 million they tryed a 4.5 million bud for him in the summer of 2020.

19.) 04 Jan 2022 18:45:40
The offer was declined as Rangers know he is worth more. We want atleast £5m for him but hopefully he stays.

20.) 04 Jan 2022 18:58:02
Not for me Scotty123!

21.) 04 Jan 2022 18:59:07
Cheers RFC.

22.) 04 Jan 2022 19:01:11
Has anyone heard Leeds after Maxwell?

23.) 04 Jan 2022 20:47:07
Roloz saw this today. Someone else on hear read it yesterday.

24.) 04 Jan 2022 21:35:47

I know it was only a training match, but I've seen lampposts with a better first touch than Cifuentes. If he was meant to take us to the next level the mind boggles.

tjm1995

1.) 13 Jan 2024 17:51:25
Lot of deadwood in that team. Priority has to be a striker asap.

2.) 13 Jan 2024 17:54:24
I don't think anybody showed much of anything today, not sure why he's being singled out.
Looking on the rumours section I see 5 or 6 posters calling for the return of Ryan Kent.
One kick about to get minutes in the legs and pure panic has set in.
I'd rather we sign no one than bring back a player who downed tools for the last year he was here.
Get a wee bit if perspective for goodness sake.

3.) 13 jan 2024 17:55:53
not one of the recent signings are close to breaking the stranglehold celtic have on scottish football, none bar the keeper is going to ever take us forward.

not cifuentes, nor dessers nor lammers nor (im whispering here) yilmaz, nor raskin,

some ain't getting that, they're not good enough to win a title, i would be shocked if many of these guys see out next summer, the manager will know who he wants, imho, it won't be any of these guys, celtic will spend before january is out,

we still have players signed in past few years who still havnt cemented a first team place, yet, some people watch certain players, like hagi, yilmaz and somehow imagine they are even close to guys like Davie Robertson and Barry Ferguson.

this won't end until winners are brought back to ibrox, , we have too many ordinary players, and ordinary players don't win titles, this is my belief.

hubby hit the nail on the head with his post yesterday, a guy i respect and know he knows his stuff, like john and a few others i respect, we must realise we don't have those winners at ibrox and havnt really had them for years, i'm still finding it difficult to understand just how badly it went for gio, just as i thought we are heading the right way,

we must stop thinking yilmaz cifu etc will come good, they're not at the level required.

4.) 13 Jan 2024 17:55:59
Cifuentes taking us to the next level was in Beales mind so it does boggle.

5.) 13 Jan 2024 17:56:06
he has been out injured and it was for fitness the game meant nothing what is wrong with people.

6.) 13 Jan 2024 17:56:26
??? yeah he’s awful! Someone suggested on here he’s couple steps ahead of the other players and he just needs time adjust I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous the guy belongs in the mls.

7.) 13 Jan 2024 18:37:36
It's his first game back in weeks, he's been great for us on a few occasions this season. Match fitness and a run of games is what he needs.

8.) 13 Jan 2024 18:52:27
He is awful i said it months ago absolute garbage.

9.) 13 Jan 2024 19:04:02
In general its a very average Rangers team. Defence ain't great, no goalscorers in the midfield and the strikers are garbage.

10.) 13 Jan 2024 19:15:15
I have to say tjm, I actually thought he looked fairly decent today and I haven’t been particularly impressed with him up to now. Strange how different people watch the same game and see totally different things. It’s what makes it such a great game.

Fair enough 1872Blue, maybe he'll surprise me yet, I would be delighted if he did, but just not holding my breath.

15.) 13 jan 2024 20:42:05
nobody mentioned todays game and i wasnt talking about today's game, because i didn't see it

don't let your grudges affect your ability to act like a grown up,

my belief is this rangers team are a long way behind winning rangers teams, without winners, you don't win, that's a fact of life in this game,

16.) 13 Jan 2024 22:58:34
Tomthumb you’re a genius
The rest of us delusional supporters will continue to support the team and hope the manager that's just in the door will turn us into the team we all want. In the meantime we hope that one or two of the players prove the doubters wrong, wouldn’t that be nice.

17.) 14 Jan 2024 06:45:12
With the highest wage bill in the league the word HOPE shouldn't be getting used. I'm completely with TT in his assessment.

18.) 14 Jan 2024 08:33:27
Herbert when we win our games in hand we're two points behind, we've won the league cup and reached the last 16 in europe, we have the best defensive record in the spl. Imagine what this "very average rangers team" will achieve with a couple of good additions.

25 Dec 2023 09:25:23
The fact that the last three teams have failed to register even one shot on target is rather interesting.

Of course it has nothing to do with the lack of penalties against us. That it is simply all down to a refereeing conspiracy.

It has nothing to do with good defending and poor attacking from teams who hardly ever get into the final third.

Good Group

Should get through to the knockout stage.

tjm1995

1.) 01 Sep 2023 13:19:06
The way PSV tore our defence apart and the lack of firepower in the 4 new forwards suggests we'll struggle not to be in bottom 2.

Preferred Group

Rangers
Qarabag
Maccabi Haifa
Aris Limassol

Followed by a deep dive into the knockout stages.

The problem that keeps recurring is that even when we get a lead we don't look comfortable and always seem likely to concede.

The midfield looks good, I like the look of Cifuetntes and think Cantrell and Raskin are the real deal.

Attack is completely new but there is hope that they will improve quickly as they get a few games together playing SPL and Europe each week.

But sad to say our back line (especially the Full-backs) give me the fear when we need to defend, they always seem to be in difficulty when called on to do that part of their job.

I, like many on here, am contented with the win though disappointed we didn't keep a clean sheet. But really want to see Tav and Barasic replaced with players who can defend better.

The gaps they leave are exposing the centre-backs and leaving us vulnerable game after game.

tjm1995

1.) 10 Aug 2023 12:42:47
I thought Borna had a decent game last night. The passing between him and Cantwell looked like it was getting a rhythm, and nice to see someone willing to pass the ball to him when he was running into space. Kent always ran towards the box leaving Borna standing on the wing, then always lost the ball, fell over, or shot into row Z.

I think we may see a better Barasic in this current team.

2.) 10 Aug 2023 12:43:07
You are ignoring the fact that even last night Tav and Borna were our main attacking threats and as such they are always likely to get caught on the break unless people cover them which isn`t happening . First half in particular Tav had the left back and left winger both coming at him and no support on his side. If we want two full backs to sit in and defend that's fine but someone else is going to have to play wide and create and we don`t have that in the squad. Barisic in particular run himself into the ground last night for the team. You can`t moan when he doesn`t get forward like at Kilmarnock then moan about him getting caught upfield sometimes.

3.) 10 Aug 2023 21:06:24
Excellent post and how do we solve the problem?

Orange Tinted: since most teams in Scotland set up against us like an MMA encounter to slug it perhaps that is a valid comparison.

Remember horrendous tackle on a young Lowry in 22 (Dumbarton vs B Team) or Doig every time he played against us before he went to Italy and turned into the greatest Scottish defensive export since the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

Doig is okay in the latter part of the match although I did not see the first half he seems okay in the last 15-20mins. Playing against Serbia A leaders "Inter". Saying that he has just been subbed.

Got to say neither Toulouse nor Benfica impressed last night, but that doesn't mean Benfica will be as poor again.

They have some very high profile names but we've dealt with similarly talented opposition in recent years and come out on top.

Southgate is loyal but not stupid. He can see with his own eyes the saves Butland is making in our team and will be keeping an eye on hime. Especially if we get beyond the next round in Europa as he will be playing at a high level right before the Euros which some others are. not doing at the moment.

I prefer Miovski and think that although he is not as suited to what we face in Scotland (low block) he would be ideal in Europe and against teams who come out against us.

It is all about horses for courses and having a good mix so that you can adjust to any given opponent. The problem under SG and MB was there was only one plan under the first and we are still trying to work out if there was any under the second.

PC is a smart manager who knows how and when to change things and it is a joy to behold!
