I don’t have Facebook but got a call on the road back from the game from a mate who said Defoe has been in a car accident can anyone confirm?

1.) 28 Sep 2019 19:52:50
He’s ok. 👍🏻.

25 Jul 2016 21:41:15
Well tonight's game Barton strolled through it no end, Kranc just looks like he floats on air but my main positive is how good Rossiter looked in the 30mins he got! He put a tackle in and I know the opposition wasn't the best but he showed great urgency and he knows how to play a pass and also the most important thing he plays the right pass! Can't wait to see this lad get a full 90mins I think this boy is a steal at £250k.

1.) 25 Jul 2016 21:51:31
Wilson/ Keirnan looked as comfortable as ever with Barton in front.

Our Joey strolled it tonight. He'll stroll most games up here but his quality is there for everyone to see.

Can't wait for Hamilton.

2.) 25 Jul 2016 22:01:57
Guys really think we need to get a grip on reality. We had over 20 shots on goal and only scored 3, 1 of them a penalty. Barton was not impressive for me, he plays more sideways passes than Barry Ferguson did, . McKay? Why does he put the brakes on when he goes past even poor defenders. For me a lot of huffing and puffing to no great effect against a very poor team member
Let's hope it gets better soon?

3.) 25 Jul 2016 22:47:12
I don't want a grip on whatever reality your on bil72! The guys above are right Barton added a lot of protection to the cb's which was previously missing, rossiter likewise! Mckay wasn't as good as previous couple of games but forester more than made up for that with his energetic clever play, tavs delivery into the box was also very good.

A lot of positives to be taken even if it was against weaker opposition! We still have to go out and break these teams down.

4.) 25 Jul 2016 22:53:27

Can only beat what's in front of you! Barton and kranjkaer didn't need to come out first gear and still strolled it. I thought Barton was mom to be honest, hate guys like you, no matter what happens you'll never be happy.

5.) 25 Jul 2016 22:57:51
Bloody hell! I thought the team played well tonight and hardly had to get out of first gear. Remember most of these guys are finding their feet. As the old saying goes - you can please some of the people etc etc. But yes the lad Rossiter looks a steal. We are looking good, dare I say it!

6.) 25 Jul 2016 23:03:37
I thought Barry McKay bossed the whole game till he was taken of Fun!

7.) 25 Jul 2016 23:33:57
I was at game and thought Barton was a bit off the pace too, Mckay is great to watch and hope he goes from strenth to strenth. Stranraer are very average and the test will be when the league starts, lots of chances and ahould have had more goals but that'll come as game go on. Barton will be better as games go on too but all in all decent win! Moan the gers.

8.) 25 Jul 2016 23:46:29
Jordan Rossiter is going to be some player - I did mention him a few days ago and tinight he showed a maturity beyond his years - You can see the style of Gerrard in his play and movement - Superb signing -.

9.) 26 Jul 2016 00:47:58
Pierre, you must not have been at same game I was as Barton strolled it! In first gear I may add. Broke up play when needed, kept it simple but moving, won his tackles etc he was our best player with kranjkaer I thought, but ofcourse entitled to opinions.

10.) 26 Jul 2016 01:13:13
Didn't think Barton looked match fit and a few loose passes but his class is obvious. Thought mckay was superb. Niko oozes class too. Rossiter just slotted in to Bartons position like a glove.

11.) 26 Jul 2016 05:31:56
At the game last night and thought joey barton's passing range was very good, can't agree with a couple of the above posters that didn't think barton was good last night, although still not 100% match fit he oozed class and cruised the game and our defence looked a helluva lot tighter with his presence, kranjcar looked good in phases although a wee bit to go in fitness also, barrie mckay superb, but I've always been raving about him and I'm a big fan of his.

12.) 26 Jul 2016 08:08:50
People still need to remember that this is still really pre season. A silly competition format that has stopped us playing harder competition. The team has only conceded 1 goal. And I think in total there has been 10 shots in at our goal so it says that something has improved. Keep calm bears.

13.) 26 Jul 2016 11:11:12
Thorn76, i also thought wilson had a good game, he seems good when he has experienced players round about him, but he needs to stand on hiis own two feet, as he won't always have such comfort blankets around him, imo, he is old enough to play a good game, that's why he is vunrable.

14.) 26 Jul 2016 12:55:32
got to say for me McKay should have got man of the match but niko a close second the guys class oozed out over the pitch!

for me to say barton covered our defence well is a joke as we didn't have any defending to do.

rossiter for me would have been man of the match if he had played 90 boy reminds me of a young barry ferguson which despite what bil72 (the pessimist) says barry was a great player for rangers and if rossiter has a rangers carrer like him i'd be over the moon.

15.) 26 Jul 2016 15:49:29
Thought Barton looked overweight last night though still fit enough to stroll through a game like that. Rossiter reminds me more of Roy Keane than Stevie G. Kranjcar when fully fit will be the best of all the new boys. Think the League Cup has been good for us, for the fact that instead of meaningless friendlies, these small clubs have been competitive without ever threatening us. Its let us get our match fitness up to speed.

Bears I’ve been unwell with C.V. really really bad but it’s gave me time to reflect on the past three years and look at what we’ve achieved….

First of all from the first day SG walked into our great stadium and the fans packing the main stand wow just wow it must’ve made him appreciate very quickly what our great club means to everyone of us.

We faltered after the festive break first two seasons with reasons that beggars belief as we had runs going but last year we nailed it.

Our European runs have been there or there abouts and got to where I think we deserved and then some, believe we had the taking of the racists but we didn’t achieve it.

SG has slowly but surely built HIS squad and I’m going to shout a few out that may disgruntle or ruffle a few blue feathers…

Tav I think since he came to our club has been one of our best players now I know defensively before SG came in he wandered but hand on heart he’s been there since we’ve got promoted and delivered in a forward role but now knows he has defensive duties…

AM as our number one ( used sparingly so far this season ) I still believe we have one of the top keepers in the UK at least top five…

Goldson no matter what people say we saved his career or whatever he would’ve went to a EPL team and been average but he’s stood up for us again and again so fair play to the guy we took a gamble on with a dodgy ticker

Stevo in midfield has been the one I think has brought us 55 in fairness just not with performance but what he’s done for those around him. Remember Glen was a £50k buy from Dundee and most if we’re honest were like who but I really believe Stevo has brought a player out in him and gave him belief.

Alfie just Alfie… my daughter calls him a friend as she’s been to his house with her girlfriends on a few occasions ( shhhh ) and he called her during transfer window to say he was is London ( just to wind her up ) and I rubbish myself as no matter what you think of him I truly believe our team is better with him in it whither it’s scoring or dragging the defence around and I for one will be sad the day he leaves to pastures new…

Bears we have the catalyst to have another great season and we haven’t been great or anywhere near good but we sit top of the perch looking down and I think we stay there the rest of the way in no matter what rat are doing as Bill said this institution is like nothing else and we always and I mean always welcome the chase 💙.

Sorry to hear you're laid low with C.V. Blackwoodbear 😞I had this terrible C.V. myself pal last november and i'm still feeling some effects of long C.V. 😞Hope you're getting better mate and back to your usual self 🙏You look after yourself and take care my friend 🙏.

2.) 14 Sep 2021 06:06:12

So I’m back home and time to digest today without the tinted glasses on ……

I read here beforehand and on way to game about how bad we’d miss our two natural right backs and I’m also kinda perturbed in a way what I read from our own supporters. I know we all have our views/ opinions but surely we should get behind each of our own?

I thought Goldson today had his best game this season, Borno also put in some tackles and meaty ones at that. Kent if the rumours are true has played through the pain barrier for the past 2-3 weeks and maybe that’s why he’s a yard short of pace but again I thought it was his best shift of the season to date.

Kamara and Stevie are our best midfield two and I’d argue with anyone to tell me differently as they both showed today how much we need them at this club. Big Leon at right back put in a shift like non other and deserved MOM closely followed by Stevie D in my opinion.

First half I thought we were a yard of the pace and have looked this way from the start of the season but we came out second half and played our way back into it.

I said to my mate after the final whistle that I thought Borno was saying his goodbyes and if this is the case I for one wish him all the best as we’ve had three great years from him and that left peg at times has been like a wand.

Finally to our fantastic support what an atmosphere we created today from start to finish and even a few misplaced passes or losing the ball we still never got on the teams case like previously but we showed why we are the best fans in the world. I for one at the tender age of 50 ( in 55 days time I may add ) will walk into work tomorrow and rave about the atmosphere that we created today.

1.) 29 Aug 2021 18:38:19
Had a wee lump in the throat watching BB bend down and touch the grass for maybe the last time. Thanks for your efforts and good luck son. We move on though like all big clubs, refresh and keep the hunger in the squad.

PS My lad showed me a pic of Bornas new Maclaren in the summer, I though whys he got a left hand drive - is he off.

2.) 29 Aug 2021 18:48:35
I though Goldson looked shaky all the way thru the game to be honest.

3.) 29 Aug 2021 19:18:08
To be fair i think the doubts before the game were justified on recent form but think those that had already conceded were a minority. Kamara is a class above any other midfielder in the league, the boy is immense and so composed. Wish Borna all the best he has been a great servant but Bassey recently has shown he can step in. It’s a shame if our failure to qualify for champs league has forced the sale because his reaction at full time showed how much he loves the club.

19 Aug 2021 23:02:48
Tonight and back home my thoughts are …. Even though I don’t watch or listen to BBC or the papers a young lad at work asked me to fill out my Gers team on BBC and I put Bassey and Wright in … down to ten men and IMO Wright changed the game for us. Borna as much as we love his dead ball and crosses sometimes gets found out defensively but again and only my opinion Bassey is a unit defensively and Scott changed the game in our favour with energy alone… If you asked me last season who we couldn’t sell I’d have put Kent in top 2-3 but now I’d take £15mill if reports of him from Leeds are true he’s had his head turned…Lundstrum I’m not convinced of yet even with his red tonight as I’ll wait till he’s really up and running ( hopefully running as I don’t think he’s the most mobile ) Aribo showed more defensive passion tonight which I’ve not seen him do which brings me on to Hagi … a lot have said not all but we should sell but I think this could be the season if played in his position will flourish as tonight he had more heart than anyone on that pitch …. Again lads I’m watching it from the stands and don’t see tv reports or what tv like you to see.

1.) 20 Aug 2021 06:09:09
Brilliant post bwb - for me Kent isn’t running enough, I don’t know if he’s carrying an injury, or if he’s bulked up too much or he simply doesn’t want to get him self injured in case he’s moving? I don’t know but he needs to start there, by chasing and harrying again, the rest will come from there. But for now Wright starts before him.

Re Lundstrum, atm for me it’s horses for courses and we don’t need him in most matches when Davis is playing. Davis for many reasons is tending to take up a deeper position. Collecting the ball for the defenders and taking it into midfield. We don’t need 2 players doing that. So Lundstrum, if he is to play needs to sharpen his passing, increase his tempo and drive into more advance positions. If he’s not doing that, then it’s Hagi or Aribo all day for me in that position. I would even give airfield the nod before him atm.

2.) 20 Aug 2021 06:34:45
Lundstrum is learning a new way for f playing I will give him time but as soon as he got that daft 1st yellow
I thought right away he was going to be sent off.

3.) 20 Aug 2021 07:03:48
It's nothing to do with the way he plays. He's too slow for our team and doesn't suit our style. Steven Davis was out running him.

4.) 20 Aug 2021 09:17:38
Blackwoodbear, 100% agree hagi had great game, here is hoping he has a great seas. 👍🇬🇧.

28 Jul 2021 22:06:49
This is where we can turn the screw before the season starts in earnest. We get a result in CL qualifying stage, they drop to the 3rd qualifying round of Europa, first of all Hearts away at wknd and if they drop points I think full implosion before season really starts!

1.) 28 Jul 2021 23:17:40
Having just witnessed Celtic failing to qualify for the champions League yet again I would like to complain about El Buffalo's attitude for the 186th time 🤣🤣🤣.

2.) 29 Jul 2021 08:42:17

Coop I don’t usually disagree or am I now but I’m sure in the presser SG said we shall see after first few games and qualifiers. I’m with you on being happy with the squad but not for a minute do I think we’re finished in the transfer market. Even if we don’t hit CL groups I feel 1 or 2 will be sold with maybe league quality player or two added💙.

Guys come on . he has done well for us and is part of the the group of players over the past ten seasons that’s got us back to where we belong. now whither some say he should stay or go the lure of money on both parts will be the judge. if we accept what our management team/ board thinks acceptable and also if the man himself thinks is acceptable and also what teams are in for him and me personally I think there will be a few come the summer. I for one wish the lad all the best as no matter how much I’ve loathed and loved him at times he’s been part of the rebuild to bring my/ our great club back to where it belongs and that’s champions of Scotland and doing well in Europe 🔴⚪️🔵.

Guys job I’m in I always say we win as a team and lose as a team …. it can be all ifs and buts ……. I’ve never singled out anyone in the blue but sometimes we all have an off day in any walk of life but to say it was him or him or him is wrong so great first post 👍.

SGL I’m of the age where I’ve seen the three of them and for me Borno has been immense even more so after his shaky start. For me Arthur has got to be the best out the three of them and I’ve met him loads whilst he played and most occasions was in Sainsbury’s in Hamilton whilst doing the weekly shop lol. I remember the day both he and Larson was in the store and I was getting a quick pic with Arthur and he said “ if you ram him with your shopping cart I’ll let your wife in the photo “ hahaha he was a good character that absolutely loved our club just as much as the other two.

John let’s not think about if’s or but’s we know what we need to do and I’m for one are positive that we shall proceed in the tournament! Malmo alone will be a stiff test and whoever we get in final qualifying will be a a more difficult test but I for one believe we are in a good place with fitness, organisation and also belief! We are going to turn the screw early doors I reckon and put the benchmark down for the season in the first few games of the competitive fixtures as they have already imploded in the CL 💙.

What an interview but more importantly what a man! When he was talking about Real his quips was excellent he’s just such a magnificent person and takes me back to when I met him with my son when we were out and I asked for a pic and Jack was only four and asked who he was and John’s reply was “ I’ll let your dad tell you” and it’s the best father and son chat I’ve had to date 💙.

MPH you’re 100% correct on the lowering of the pitch as I’m sure we’ve looked into that before and with the proximity of the Clyde it would create problems with drainage that what I’m led to believe would be an absolute fortune to try rectify.
