We are going to end up with a boardroom team bigger than the squad. And what a wage they will be all on.

We just need a lad who can make tea for the lad that makes the coffee!

Couldn't watch all the interview with Thelwell. I put him in the same league as the clown in charge of our politics.

If the consortium can't smell the coffee. Then the tea boy has the job.

For years now we've;

- fallen short of what's been required on the pitch,
- our player trading model has been non existent,
- we've operated at losses in the tens of millions, and
- our stadium, training centre and general facilities are a mess.

Change is needed and this restructure moves us closer to how elite clubs operate.

I'm not a fan of coffee and i much prefer getting served my beverages by a barman/barmaid?.

17 Nov 2025 08:15:39
Hope your right EHl
Time will tell how it all unfolds hopefully it turns out well.

17 Nov 2025 08:24:01
Get yourself on the coffee Three Cheers, you don't know what you're missing pal ?.

17 Nov 2025 08:43:18
Typical corporate attitude! Too many chiefs etc. jobs for the boys ?.

17 Nov 2025 08:56:52
Think people struggle to see the forest for the trees on this topic, we're immediately disappointed with the actions on the pitch and the manager appointment but are quick to forget these are 2 things within hundreds of other things that need to be done in order to make us the best club possible, admittedly two incredibly important jobs they've done a number on but they must be working well on the behind the scenes stuff, otherwise the Tea boy would be telling the Jannie to get "The boy from Everton" to work on his finishing.

Worth making it abundantly clear, that was indeed a Chermiti joke.

17 Nov 2025 09:23:46
Turning into the council, meetings about having a meeting, no objectively, wee room of yes men never turns out well.

17 Nov 2025 09:44:06
I had no issues with Thelwells interview. Do I think his recruitment in the summer was poor? Yes, it could've been better but ANY other DOF announcing these new appointments and changes to a football structure it would be welcomed.

The changes are welcome and needed to avoid poor recruitment and academy failures in the future and you're moaning ??‍♂️

Draw the line. We know the summer recruitment was poor but there is nothing wrong with changing the structure.

If your problem is those appointed tell me how deep you've looked into these new people appointed and what's your concerns.

It's typical Rangers fans behaviour! BASH absolutely everything if it doesn't work immediately. Thelwell in the long term is probably not the answer but his interview and the detail involved was absolutely fine.

17 Nov 2025 09:55:48
Only problem with that is we are not an elite club anymore, hard to hear but true.

17 Nov 2025 10:30:16
Completely agree LMAC. They got recruitment wrong. People need to remember that RM had input into the window as well as Thelwell and Purdy.

Rohl is a much better fit for the club and will get final say on players which will make a difference. The summer window is done and the damage done has been mitigated to a degree by Rohl's coaching and set up. Players like Antman and Aasgaard can still come good and Djiga, Aarons, etc being on loan means we aren't tied to them for seasons after this one.

Gassama is young and with youth comes inconsistency and poor decision making but that boy will make us money in the future. Chermiti can also come good and he may never be a 1 in 2 striker but he never set his price tag and neither did Thelwell, he just signed off on paying it, much like RM, the board and others did, still a mistake on current evidence I will say.

Mistakes were made. Perfection is a thing of dreams so let's leave that window in the past and look to January and give Robbie Thelwell the chance before hanging him out to dry, let's see what happens with 6 months under their belt for Thelwell and Purdy and let's see how Rohl being involved changes the recruitment.

Now players we don't want to leave may leave like Raskin (especially if he won't extend), and players we want to leave might not like Matondo. Players we want to come in might not and players we have never heard of probably will come in. But let's see how it goes before getting the torches and pitchforks out. Summer was crap they get January to show learnings and if that's crap as well then maybe we do grab those torches and pitchforks.

Rant over lol. WATP.

as soon as Thelwell name is mentioned it's all negative. look beyond that and i believe this is a positive change.

17 Nov 2025 11:28:38
Forever that is true but doesn't mean you can't operate like one.

If we only had one guy doing it all folk would be complaining and now they are complaining we have too many.
Which proves no matter what you do you can't win with fickled fans.

17 Nov 2025 12:10:10
Got more staff than the Olympics.

17 Nov 2025 12:21:46
None of that decaf nonsense.

17 Nov 2025 12:27:46
I think we would all welcome the changes 'if" the right men were in place to make them. Why should any of us feel comfortable with the people Thelwell and his mates are bringing in? Yes we need certain roles filled to bring us in line with the rest of Europe, but the mere mention of Thelwell being involved gives me the fear.

If we've to believe what's been said in here, he didn't get a say in the manager we brought in 2nd time around, the one after the best manager he's ever worked with, that's the only reason the manager is looking like a good one, because Thelwell had no say.

If true that tells me the board have no faith, so why let him have a say in all these people coming in?

17 Nov 2025 12:45:31
White horse key issue is that all these individuals we employ and call directors are not part off the board off the club.

The majority of the individuals we call directors are section heads. A check re company house will tell you who forms the board.

17 Nov 2025 12:47:42
You have to admit EHL it was interesting to hear him try and describe the differences between the three roles to do with development, all very similar!
And to be fair he done well to fudge his way through that.

The main thing for me is as long as it's all aligned and the head coach has the final say on players coming in.
Mistakes can happen and let's hope we learn from them.

17 Nov 2025 13:28:58
Pretty sure if it wasn't Thelwell talking about this there would be no issue with it. A lot of the roles that are being announced aren't additional positions but replacements either directly or indirectly for people who have left. Last season was a nightmare for people quitting the club and they weren't replaced due to the impending takeover.

We need somebody in charge of the Academy, we need somebody doing analysis, we need more coaches in support of Rohl SG had about 5 coaches assisting him. I don't like Thelwell and would like him gone but to be honest he made a lot of sense in that interview, if he then backs it up with actions.

17 Nov 2025 15:11:58
I actually thought he explained it pretty well Rosevale.

17 Nov 2025 15:30:40
Ayrshire the fact Thelwell agreed to pay the 8 million then it's just as bad as setting the price tag as he believes he is worth that.

17 Nov 2025 15:33:23
EHL agree there was no red flags in his interview it's moaning and bashing Thelwell for the sake of it. He's going nowhere. We need these positions filled so it's not all on him again and hopefully we don't make the same mistakes but it's just moan, moan, moan the new set piece coach will no doubt get heat as well despite no one knowing a thing about it.

Negative thinking constantly!

17 Nov 2025 16:06:28
Fair enough EHL as I say as long as Rohl has the deciding say then getting as much research and data in a player can only be a good thing now.
Just need to try and get more right than wrong recruitment wise.
