i said to my wife last night the minute shankland comes on this game changes, from abject nonsense of dykes headless chicken performance to a goal scorer who totally understands how to play the CF role, i was confident he would score given one opportunity, and he did, because he was again, in the precise spot at the precise moment, ala coisty, if you will.
Scotland became dangerous when shankland replaced the ineffective forward, he brings a bit of quality, a style they didn't expect and a fantastic sense of danger, he passes like prime hately and is fearless too, everything you want in a Rangers CF, imo.

A bid going in in january then. wouldn't be against it. shanksy and Miovski up front. lethal. get on it danny.

It was a no brainer to sign him on a free in the summer. But imo we should have signed him long before that. Even as 1 of 3 strikers.

Was really chuffed for Shankland.
I actually thought McKenna played really well also and goal aside, McLean was excellent.

All 3 were sniffed at by most fans.
How ironic.

100% Bigdado - he should have been signed many moons ago when we were chasing the league down - then he would have been a difference maker (as many on here implored) and for anyone to look at Chermiti mega bucks deal vs a FREE signing in summer to boost our forward areas then it just says everything about our arrogant signing strategy - we all know he was not a signing for the future but would have been for the here and now when it was totally required!

Tom your post made me laugh
I had the same conversation with my wife when Shankland was waiting to come on, i said there's Shankland coming on, guaranteed he scores.
After he scored and I celebrated I actually shouted at her
Told you Shankland would score - knew he would… ecstatically ??.
20 Nov 2025 08:30:37
The signing of Shankland should have been a no brainier.
20 Nov 2025 09:53:19
Hear hear, Shankland would have scored 100 goals if we'd signed him 3 or 4 years ago. How we passed up the chance of a free in the summer, ill never know. That said, there's a good few respected opinions on here that said he was never the answer, not sure what they're seeing that i'm not. Guys a goal scorer, pure and simple.
20 Nov 2025 10:39:45
Of course he should have been signed. Our bread and butter is the spl, he would have helped us tremendously towards that.
20 Nov 2025 10:46:46
I fear we've missed the boat on Shankland, Tom. Not sure what kind of deal he has with Hearts and how much we would need to pay, but for me his signing should have been a stick on. That goal had McCoist written all over it.

Dykes had no player near him during his time on the park and all subs made a great impact.
20 Nov 2025 11:10:04
Big dado, ehl, why have so many managers decided not to sign shankland, no one seems to want to answer this question.
20 Nov 2025 11:35:25
Fair question John.
20 Nov 2025 11:44:15
I'm not fussed over Shankland.
There is some on here who have criticised Igamane, Morelos, Bellingham's attitude.
Conveniently overlooking the fact that Shankland downed tools for Hearts last season.
I would have preferred for Rangers to have signed a proven goal scorer for the money we look to have wasted on a project like Chermiti.
20 Nov 2025 12:47:16
Mentioning Shankland as some kind of mixture of Hateley and McCoist is a joke. Not criticising him but he isn't good enough to lace their boots.
I would compare him with Sandy Clark a blue nose who played for and scored goals for a smaller club and was desperate to join Rangers but although he always gave 100% he wasn't really at the level we needed.
20 Nov 2025 15:17:17
McInnes wanted him signed again and currently scoring goals for the team who tops the league John,
Why do you think no Rangers scouting team/manager have gone for him at ZERO pounds but yet outlay 9-10 MILLION for a project who IMHO will be gone in less than a year? ?.
20 Nov 2025 16:21:06
Thats because we can't answer that John. You could turn that round and say why did this manager and that manager sign half the players we did.
20 Nov 2025 16:38:33
The previous managers have signed some rubbish!
In general, our recruitment has been poor over the years.
Martin turned down the chance of Shankland. Enough said about that scoundrel.
We could have done a lot worse than Shankland.
20 Nov 2025 16:39:47
Correct wsl. It seems Shankland has turned into haaland overnight for scoring a tap in ?.
20 Nov 2025 17:27:45
Question for you Storm - At present would you rather have Chermiti in your team or Shankland?
But there again maybe Chermiti will change into something significantly better like Sebo, overnight? ?????.
20 Nov 2025 17:36:44
It's not just Rangers mangers. It's when we do due diligence it falls down.
20 Nov 2025 17:39:39
Mark, warburton, Gerrard bio Beale and clement all rejected chance to sign him, it's happened for years.
20 Nov 2025 18:13:09
John yiu referenced due diligence so is it his wage demands or are you hinting something else.
