Portugal looking to snatch Kyle Glasgow to their youths. Well done to the kid and a good sign he's wanted but come on Scotland don't let it happen.

This boy is one to watch.
I first heard about him in the summer.
10 Dec 2025 10:24:23
Kaiser he is 15 and form what I can see has played for Scotland at u17 and u19 levels so they are aware and are playing him at age groups above his level so far.
10 Dec 2025 10:55:21
Potential to be a very special player.
10 Dec 2025 11:30:00
I know he was in the last Scotland squad so just hope they don't let him slip out their grasp.
10 Dec 2025 11:39:06
Player has till 21 to decide which country he plays for.
10 Dec 2025 13:00:59
One of the few players we've developed who is physically comparable with those coming through the English Academy process.
10 Dec 2025 13:25:34
What's kyle Glasgow's best position guys ?.
10 Dec 2025 14:11:42
He's going to be a 10 for me Coops but playing off the right just now.
10 Dec 2025 14:24:25
Walter at present he is a midfielder but many see him as a 10.
Ehl I feel he will move by 18,
10 Dec 2025 14:35:16
Honestly, if he's as good as you guys are saying, and I have no reason to disbelieve anyone, we should be throwing him into the odd game and also look to be getting him aligned with the national team.
10 Dec 2025 14:57:15
Can we hold onto him?
10 Dec 2025 14:59:10
John, suspect he'll already have options to move, once he's of age.
10 Dec 2025 15:42:21
Totally agree dtb.
10 Dec 2025 15:54:57
Do the bouncy he is not allowed to play league games or league cup till he turns 16.
Ehl he certainly does.

I know I posted a few weeks ago that I think there is a realistic change we scrap the academy - this is part of the reason it was being considered as an option.
Even when we manage to develop players with a realistic chance of making the first team, we have zero chance of retaining them.
We make a small amount from this, but it's becoming unsustainable.
10 Dec 2025 17:45:52
I posted about this boy in the summer after hearing about him from my nephew.
He played against Man United during the Milk Cup tournament.
From what I heard, he was the best player on the pitch.

EHL,
Is Kyle Glasgows development unique or is it a part of our improving academy process? Are more of our young players being developed effectively or is he just an exception?
10 Dec 2025 19:29:18
Dio, he's by no means an exception and it's by no means a recent development.
Off the top of my head I can think of players we've lost Newcastle, Forrest, Villa, Brentford, Man City and Palace in recent years.
This doesn't include those who are enticed down to England at a younger age before they even commit to our academy.
We disbanded the B Team as we recognised that we were losing our elite from the U19 age group and there was no pathway for development to the first team beyond this - so it was in essence ineffective.
Unless we can somehow revamp our academy to compete with the richest league in the world, who are pretty much on our doorstep - what purpose does it serve?
Trust me, it's not an easy question to ask from someone who has been involved in coaching and player development for almost 15 years.
Sadly, the women's league is already starting to follow.

EHL…. do you think the SFA should step in and maybe put something in place which would prevent all our young players from leaving the country, and allow them to develop in Scotland? For example home grown talent can't sign for a foreign team until they are 21? Surely something like this would be beneficial to the Scottish game as a whole? If young players want to make it as a pro then they must play in Scotland for a certain period of time, cap the amount of foreign players in squads so it means we must develop our own.
Just an idea and might be abit far fetched, but something needs to be done for the good of our game.
{Ed001's Note - it would not be legal.}
11 Dec 2025 14:31:29
Rfc55 - as Ed said that's no an option.
Of anything or will probably go the other way, as there is a lot of frustration around the rules that prevent players leaving earlier - I believe these are being challenged and the likelihood is that they will be eased.
Also, in wouldn't trust the SFA to do anything other than fund their own pensions.
