Looking at our team realistically how many players should we expect in jan? I think a ch maybe a LB are priorities and a wide player. i'm not sure we will sign the striker we all want unless we get 1 out the door.
18 Dec 2025 19:59:23
Realistically 3 or 4. A 6, a left back, a right winger and possibly a CB or 10.
18 Dec 2025 20:04:42
Miovski is starting to show some form, Chermiti has worked hard and puts himself about but needs a couple of goals to fire up. Danilo just doesn't seem to be showing what we need, think he is the one we need to upgrade.
18 Dec 2025 20:14:07
One Walter we have Meghoma and Cornelius at left back.
I'd expect 1 centre half, 2 if Djiga goes back.
A cdm, a striker and at least one wide player maybe 2 depending on outgoings.
Out window should t be dictated by outgoing. We need quality in the door.
18 Dec 2025 20:24:41
Everything I have read suggests the clubs priority is a DM that dictates tempo of the game. Hence our first 3 rumours of significance being 3 6's. 1 that can play as an 8 or a 6 and 2 that can play DM and CB.
They want a natural competitor for lb with Meghoma
A wide player for the right side so Gassama can play on the left which would also free up Mikey Moore to play infield with natural width on both wings whilst they are comfortable cutting in as well.
So would be
Butland
Sterling/Tav/Aarons
Souttar/Djiga
Cornelius/Fernandez/Nsiala
Meghoma/New LB
New 6/Barron
Raskin/Dio
New RW/Antman
Moore/Aasgard/Bajrami/Cameron
Gassama/Curtis
Miovski/Chermiti/Danilo.

I'd imagine we'll need to sell first.
A striker would be my priority.
Two defenders also.
18 Dec 2025 20:43:17
Cornelius is out long term. Good chance we won't see him play for us again.
18 Dec 2025 20:43:35
Cornelious is out long term I read stevie and Meghoma is on loan so we need some1.
18 Dec 2025 20:50:06
Think we can forget the league if we don't sign another forward and midfielder we can muddle by on defenders but. i'd rather cancel some of their loans and bring in some experience quality at back.
This is first year rhat I've thought scoring goals is our main problem.
18 Dec 2025 21:09:33
LCB and DCM.
+ 3 out of contracts to join in the summer.
18 Dec 2025 21:26:39
With Sterling back I'd go for one CB, a midfield general, a creative midfielder and a winger and possibly a striker depending on outgoings.
18 Dec 2025 21:40:35
Apparently Cornelius will be back in January lads.
Was discussed on another thread 2 days ago and that seems to be the case, of course I'm not in a position to definitively say that.
18 Dec 2025 21:50:29
Striker, defensive midfielder and right sided forward would be the positions I would prioritise first.
18 Dec 2025 22:13:49
I think we will sign 30; being 3 in each position so that of some don't work out we will have others to try.
or in reality a LCH and DCM. both experienced.
18 Dec 2025 22:21:54
We need a striker. Ehl you saying that is worrying as we need more than 2.
18 Dec 2025 22:29:10
We can't win the league with the strikers we have at present, no chance-thats the number 1 priority with a centre back, left back and winger not far behind.
18 Dec 2025 22:31:41
Agree, with most of the above, BUT unless we shift some deadweight, we don't have the, money to fill these positions with quality.
I would expect 1 ooc, which is worrying in january? and 1 or 2 loans to hopefully get us to summer.
18 Dec 2025 22:53:11
Left footed cb, dcm, rw, and cf would be mine, can see us signing another cf, he uses two regular.
18 Dec 2025 22:54:19
We must strengthen the spine of the team if we are to progress. A quick, physical left back who can defend and attack would bring balance to the side.
A commanding, experienced centre back is essential to organise the defence and set the tempo. Players of this mould have become unfashionable, but with the growing importance of set plays and long throws, there is hope they reappear.
We need a creative player who can dictate the game, control possession, and provide vision in tight matches.
Up front, a proven striker capable of delivering fifteen to twenty goals a season would add some much needed regular goals and take the pressure off.
These are not luxuries but fundamental requirements, shaped by outgoings, if Rangers are to compete this season and to build.
18 Dec 2025 23:06:20
The owners said they'd invest again so expect a few. Depends on who goes out tho. I'd expect at least one defender, a CM and a forward.
18 Dec 2025 23:09:35
I think the biggest long term signings we can bring in will be the ones working above Danny Röhl.
19 Dec 2025 00:09:49
I expect we're going to see quality signings rather than quantity.
19 Dec 2025 06:41:29
Need 2 decent strikers straight away, CBs,
19 Dec 2025 07:39:54
I don't believe it myself guys but being told by a good few i trust that Rangers definitely interested in lawrence shankland ?.
19 Dec 2025 08:59:11
Stevie the manager said till at least the end of January but could be longer as I just searched it.
19 Dec 2025 09:00:44
Jason that's not enough of a striker we had one that scored more and the fad chased him.
19 Dec 2025 10:17:26
I'd be very surprised if we were to move for Shankland.
There is a apparently interest in a loan to buy for Chermiti - surprisingly the gossip is that the club view Bowie the ideal replacement. I've never been overly impressed, but he seems to have received glowing reports from the recruitment team.
Additionally there is interest in Danilo, gossip with regards to replacement is an experienced forward who can play across the full front line. No names though.
19 Dec 2025 10:23:48
its not just about investing, we need to balance the books with EUFA financial rules, can't just keep adding to what we have now.
19 Dec 2025 11:55:56
I am the same with Bowie ehl. People went mental for him because of one goal he has scored in Europe. He isn't a clinical finisher that we need.
19 Dec 2025 12:20:48
Storm I was first going to write that he must be due back reasonably soon as he hasn't returned to parent club, what I then realised is that because he hasn't returned that must point towards a permanent deal being the likelihood in the summer and that's why they've left him with us?
Ehl you'd certainly think Danilo and Chermiti would be away before Miovski wouldn't
Hopefully the loan to buy gives us back exactly what we've spent on Chermiti and with Danilo I'd be happy with £2m tbh.
