Right troops, If you go into the main building of Ibrox and wish to have a picture taken. Your are asked to stand on the first step of the marble stair case. Anyone know the reason why?

Is it a thing? It Wasn't when I went. Got mine taken in middle of the staircase. If it is it's probably one of these traditions that just came from someone saying stand there so your not blocking the doorway and now lots do it. Unless it's something I missed.

If you go any higher the noise of footsteps on the stairs might wake EHL who lives in the cupboard under the stairs.

Answers on a postcard ?
Photos are taken on the first step of the marble staircase to frame the shot properly, show the grandeur and portraits above, and preserve the heritage of the space.

Don't know why troops need a post card. But the answer is a lot deeper.

White horse when i come to think of it when i sponsored michael Mols all those years ago now, i had my picture taken with Mols and my signed shirt, on the first step of the marble staircase ? very interesting question my friend ?.

Whitehorse - I think it might have a masonic reason.
Archibald Leitch who designed the main stand was a a freemason and the two pillars by the desk would represent Boaz and Jachin the two pillars to the entrance to King Solomons temple.
In the 2nd degree your introduced to the "Winding Staircase" and it would be showing on the 2nd degree tracing board. By standing on the first step you would be starting to ascend that staircase the same way you do through your degrees in freemasonry.
The ceiling of the entrance is painted light blue the same way as most lodge rooms to depict the sky.

Elwood that's a pretty good answer if ever I see one.
I'm against free masonry, that and elite Jewry seem to run the world, we're all just the workers for them.
I know that most masons don't have anything to do with that, its more so after the 33rd degree that the picture becomes clear to those who make it to that point.
My grandpa was actually 33rd degree mason, he was grand master for his area for many years.

Whatsmyname,
That would be excellent, Brother. Should the Great Architect will it, may we soon be able to assemble and conduct our labours in due form. ?.

Wasn't giving away to much or anything that a quick google search wouldn't bring up. but i understand Lmac and heed your caution. i was just giving a general over view of some of the symbolism that may be present that might not be apparent to some people unless explained.
I was also given this as the reason behind "Penny Arcade" being sung. A light shone in the night (lodge light being on when in work) blue, turned in to green, then it was red (mother lodge, provincial and then royal arch) as a means of progression. and the actual penny after doing the mark.
May or may not be factual but interesting none the less.
Warm Fraternal greetings to all Brethren over the festive period and good to know I'm in good company here!

Elwood I was t sure if penny arcade was a reference to some sort of shooting incident by paramilitaries? That's one of the theory's I know that for sure but not ? if it's true? Anyone c.

This is to Ellwod and StevieG. I posted last week, the reason Man City play in sky blue is their origins are steeped in freemasonry.
