Yes the three strikers we have will struggle to match Dessers numbers for G/A combined.
But the continuing big problem is that we have no goals coming from the middle of the park.

Ac this has been a problem for many years. It was the same with Dessers an why his 52 goals over two seasons wasn't enough for some people. Not many goals from elsewhere. You need midfielders one or two too get 10 plus a season and wingers to get goals and assists like sima and Cerny previous years.

Storm, yourself, me and a good few others on here did continually say that we should keep Dessers and should never have sold a striker who was proven and had scored 52 goals in 2 seasons ?Some just continued/wanted to constantly hit on the chances he missed, instead of focusing on the goals he scored for us ?God if he'd scored the ones he did miss big CD9 wouldn't have been playing with Rangers and would be playing in one of Europe's best leagues with a big club ? He's a big loss for us, as of course is cerny and igamane ☹️.

Completely agree with you both Strom and SWS. Dessers being kept this season would have had us a lot closer to Hearts and Celtic.
Who was our last midfielder with over 10 goals in a season, Arfield in title winning season probably.

Aye and Super Ally talking on TV midweek saying we should have taken a punt on Shankland for ZERO outlay - that's coming from Rangers record goalscorer too ?basically his dig at Thelwell and his major buy in Chemiti
It was a no brainer- but those up on high felt that Chermiti was the guy to take us to the promised land - - think its easy to see who had the "No brains" in player selection - but mucho brains in getting a nice thick brown envelope?.

Blue Floyd McCoist also said he thinks that the manager should decide on signings despite knowing how that went with Martin and letting him make the decisions. not just on signings it seems but on deciding who to get rid of as he didn't want Iga or Dessers it seems.
Re shankland how many managers is it now who have decided against him. were they all getting brown envelopes when they signed the alternative striker?
problem with rumours (well libel actually) like that is that it gets repeated and people think it is true. I am sure the club would love to see the evidence of that. won't hold my breath.

Angus - simple question - who would you rather have in your squad right now Chermiti or Shankland? - am pretty sure Super Ally is more aware than you or I the background to signing or not signing Shankland but why state his desire on TV to see a no brainer signing rather than a speculative punt on an overpriced guy who had has hardly played never mind scored in last 2 years -without knowing that a serious misjudgement by club had been carried out?

Angus I believe Clement would have signed Shankland but when he has limited funds and he can buy Hamza for half the outlay Hearts were looking for he chose the smart option. Shankland on a free was a different proposition all together.

R1 Miovski got the goal on Thursday but was not good enough he don't hold the ball up or win headers or nothing that's why the ball was always coming back to us. In Europe we need a striker that can hold ball up and get us up the pitch. Hopefully we get one in Jan that can score also.

It's been a never ending story.
We needed better than Morelos.
We needed better and fit than Roofe.
We needed better than a sick note like Colak.
We needed better than a player who missed chances, Dessers.
But one thing is for sure, we definitely need better than Miovski, Danilo and Chermiti.

Blue Floyd. not my point: that was to say the manager shouldn't have the only say in transfers. if you look at the players we signed they were all on a project vein perhaps apart from Rothwell, Aarons and Cornelius. so we hoped to start the transfer process this season and make some cash.
tbh I wouldn't sign Shankland, nothing against him as a player but not sure he was better than Dessers and there is no profit in him. Miovski replaced Dessers and also scored similar numbers when he was at Aberdeen. I am not sure Shankland scores lots in the way we provide chances to our forwards granted either.
so we had a player for the present and were looking for someone to replace Igamane as that project player and Chermiti was unfortunate enough to be chosen.
I still quite like Chermiti but as a development player similar to what we were doing with Igamane. I wouldn't have paid that for him mind you but that isn't his fault. he needs development and hopefully we can still manage that. I wouldn't get rid and lose the £8M on him. give him some time and see how Rohl manages to get the team set up and playing more to his style. that might help our forwards in general and a young lad in his first starting position.

Angus - No need for profit from Shankland imho - when the club needed an instant hit?- nonone said he was better than Dessers or Igamane but for free and even as a squad player he ticked all the boxes and knows this league well!
But what profit will we make realisticallyfrom an 8-10 million pound PROJECT in Chermiti? -gonna have to wait until the boy gets a whole football player body transplant before that ever comes to fruition - you say you don't want to get rid - well you will have your wish bud as teams certainly won't be kicking down our doors to buy him IMHO
A project (with decent pedigree) for our club would have been 1-2 million tops not a VAST outlay when other blatantly obvious areas of team needed attention.

I was one of the Dessers critics and I'm sorry his league goal contribution wasn't good enough to win titles.
But I do agree we need more goals coming from the flanks (like Cerny did) and also from the midfield.
Miovski seems to be hitting a bit of form now so could easily catch Dessers 1st season stats.
