Just seen highlights of today's game there, as I was working all day and had missed it
Kent looked superb that's a player bang on form and playing with real confidence, great too see
Morelos coming on as a sub first thing I noticed right away and was clear as day he's lost that extra few pounds he was carrying and looks a lot more fit now and if he stays and continues to stay in shape can see the old Alfie reappearing very soon and start banging in the goals again.
Whole team played great and having to change things when injuries hit, everyone took in there stride
Gerrard interview after game was very good too - interesting he said the board and Ross Wilson know what he wants mainly a player in the engine room to keep us going over the course of the season
And seems it's down to them to come up with a list of potential players for Gerrard too pick from.
All in all team played very well
Hopefully can keep it up especially if we can keep winning up until the old firm game then hammer them and put down a real marker for winning the tittle this Season

If Morelos stays and it’s a massive if the empty stadia should help him control himself, no crowds screaming every time he moves, however injuries aside, there is every possibility he has been told by rangers and another club that he must be fit to earn his move, no way does he want another winter in Scotland,

I agree stingo, I thought Morelos looked sharp today and I was impressed with the link up play with Roofe while he was on the park. Overall I thought it was a really decent performance with the only disappointments being the injuries and the fact it should have been about 10 .

Can I start a thread on a Rangers captain. What does he / she require, I keep hearing not captain material so let's get it off our chest. As a start what does Tav lack as a captain IYO. I think Tav is some player and from what I hear a good captain.

Lacks on field leadership for me. He doesn't bollock or encourage players when they are having a mare or making silly mistakes, for instance poor passing or caught out of position which he is pretty guilty of himself.
Whilst this season we have been better as a team in the past when teams have came at us and you could sense they were starting to control the game he wouldn't encourage players to get stuck in or go in for that 40/ 60 challenge to send out a signal.
Still can't get over the piece in the Rangers news when he said we bottled it when teams put us under pressure or words to that effect.
I do rate him as a player and he is critical to out style of play but not a captain for me. He may well be very good off the park but when it boils down to it games are won on the park.
That all being said I did notice him given instructions to someone today and go over to the ref when Barasic was called over with Edwards, first time I noticed that so here is hoping he will improve.

Rangers are always looking to improve and 1 way of doing that would be to nominate a new captain. That way Rangers would improve and Tav can concentrate on doing his job properly.

He lacks aura of a Gough or Ferguson snarling shouting heart on sleeve die for the Jersey attitude and his defensive frailty that big teams always exploit including old firms he's a weak link but at same time his attacking attributes and kilometeres per game are impressive but goldson jack McGregor would be much better captains.

I'm quite happy with Tav being captain. Yes you don't see him getting tore into players on the pitch but that's obviously not how he does things but doesn't make him a bad leader. He must be a leader in other ways or Gerrard wouldn't have gave him the honour of being our captain because if anyone knows what it takes to be a captain then there's no better person than our manager who's been there and done it at the highest level.

jctheger a balanced opinion. Does anybody think that making Davis, Jack, Goldson, Arf think that would make us better. not convinced. Apparently Tav has missed 4 training sessions in the time he has been at Rangers, that is captain material. Great servant to our club. A right back in the box for a tap in. Surprised Duracell don't employ him. I for one hopes he is the one to lift the trophy at the end of the season. Seems like a good bloke that everyone looks up to. I will miss Tav when he goes. Legend.

Agreed TJBB. Tav is a modern fullback and as reliable as anyone. Never injured. Some say he doesn’t scream and shout enough but that boat has sailed many years ago.
SG sees him every day and every session and has played him even through downturns in form but some on here know bette 😂😂😂😂.

TJBB - Out those name I think Goldson would make a decent captain. Davis has the experience but still pretty quiet on the park for my liking, Jack not a captain for me and Arfield not a regular starter. As SirWalter said above, I am looking at a Gough or Butcher type captain, a player with a presence that others respect and listen to and know if they are not playing up to scratch the first person giving them a talk is the captain.

I don't recall Davie Weir ever Shouting at anyone on the pitch ever but for me was a class captain. Being a captain isn't just about how loudly you can shout, players deal with things differently.

Get better players all round improves levels and competition throughout the squad. Not disagreeing with you as Arf is hot and cold with end product but always 100 effort, best I've seen in him today in a while. Is that due to resting or competition, who knows.

One thing I noticed today with Kent and hagi was moment of the ball and interchanging was really good long may that continue esp with Kent one downfall to his game I thought was off the ball movement but clearly he's improving good times lads . and massive well done to the team on breaking clean sheet record incredible achievement 🇬🇧.

Great watch today and very unlucky not to have scored more some real good football, everybody at it and can't remember seeing everyone so hungry, need to replicate that next Sunday going to be a tough game at their place. If we can go there and win and keep the clean sheets up that would would silence any remaining doubters. Would love to know who Gerrard has his eye on, I wouldn't be surprised if new face in very soon which would a real bonus exciting times bears 🍻.

What a pleasure it was to watch today. Everybody looked hungry for the ball. Real positive energy out there even when the subs came on. Dundee’s keeper was MOTM for them. Davis was immense and Hagi can pass a ball to unlock these park the bus defences. Good times right now. keep them coming.

Great to see Davis back looking sharp, especially as some fans were writing him off earlier in the year. Okay, he isn't going to last forever and he isn't going to play every game but it's vital we have a winner like him in the team whenever possible.

Thought we were excellent today and totally dominated the game and never looked like conceding any goals apart from the shot that rattled the post.
McLaughlin was a spectator and his distribution is excellent, and the defence kept another clean sheet😀 and Bassey looked good when he came on for Barasic.
Davis was MOTM what a servant he has been to Rangers,
Thought Arfield was outstanding when he came on and provided us with the drive and energy of a box to box midfielder.
Hagi was the key to unlocking the defence and along with Kent and Roofe they carried a goal threat.
It’s unfortunate that we picked up a few injuries and hopefully these players are back soon.

The thing i love is that 1-0 goal teams are forced to open up and we no longer blindly go for goal number 2 we pass about press as a unit use the keeper more and we wait for opportunities to open up rather than charge lose the ball and concede in games we largely dominate in.

Here's a random question, do our match officials do any post match analysis or some sort of continuation training in between matches. Just wondering as the standard of the refs and linesmen in the SPFL is shocking.
I'd be interested to see what the ration of good calls versus bad calls is against us.
I get that with us being the dominant attacking team we will have more fouls etc against us but there are times some decisions make you think how the f***k did you and your linesman miss that!
I will also add there has been decisions in the past went in our favour. I know down south they are pretty divided over VAR but I'm all for it.

I can’t believe the tackle on Alfie didn’t merit a booking. This is the same ref that gave Alfie a yellow for nudging broon off the ball but he let's go a tackle that could have put him out for weeks. Its getting past a joke with this ref.

But to add fuel to your fire I'm sure he was the ref that booked big Itten against Kille when Itten was fouled, surely they must review their matches and say OK, I got that one wrong I should have gave a pen for that or gave a red instead of a yellow. It would appear not to be the case as they are consistently poor.

Chasing back, pressing, winning tackles and laying on chances for others rather than being greedy hopefully see more of that when he next takes the field he needs to show that level of commitment whilst he’s still our player.

I'll be honest I thought Steven Davis was past his best going by the second half of last season but today he proved he is still one the best midfielder's in Scotland just hope he keeps fit I'm sure Gerrard will rest him against the lesser teams.

Great team performance today. Thought Tav was really good along with Kent and Davis, hard to choose a MOTM.
Really liked Alfies touch and positioning when he came on, gave it all but an absolute shocker of a challenge ended that, how that was not a red I'll never understand.

All subs done really well. My only issue from today was realising how slow hagi is I think helander would run by him in a race. Had a decent game but he’s very slow. 4 nil great result. Regard Hagi, I had a wee snigger at that but I actually text my mate at about 75th minute saying Hagi was blowing, his runs looked laboured and wasn't running back. Unfortunately we couldn't make a change as used up our allocation by that time. Still think he has a bit of class about him though.

Suppose if he’s good enough he won’t need it but would be good to see him sprinting by sumdy, emdy really lol. Other then that great result. The12thman - For playing out wide a bit of pace is handy to have I agree but I think we may see him as the no.10 a bit more, well that will depend on injuries I suppose. He has the eye for the pass which when we go 4-2-3-1 the no.10 role suits him a bit more but as I said in a previous post the way our attacking 4 interchange he will play different positions throughout the game.
Yip, Hibs will be our biggest test yet. Would love us to totally dominate and come away with a 3 nil win but I'll take a 93rd minute 1 nil win right now tbh, that said we have Red Imps first in a one off match which I'm sure SG will go full strength against them so hopefully no injuries and players not too tired for Sunday.

Why can't the fans just appreciate a good team performance made better by the fact we had 4 players injured in the 90 mins. Tav looked great Kent had a bkinder, Davis strolled it, hagi had 2 assists, arfield looked top class from the second he came on and Morelos looked to be putting his attitude behind him. And that's only to name a few positives from today's performance. Ohhh and another clean sheet! Early days but the signs show we will take the dark side to the wire atkeast this season not many negatives from today at all!

Guys I’m not really referring to today’s match. Just believe that given the volume of corners, advanced dead ball positions and quality of delivery provided, our CB’s are wasteful and achieve poor numbers.

Bankie - I would say it may be an issue from the training ground. I would say we do practice corners or let's say set pieces. Should we not choose 2 or 3 positions where the ball will be delivered and let our better headers of the ball attack that space. Can't blame our CB's for not knowing where the ball is going to be the second it leaves the takers foot as I would say the ball isn't played to the same area very often, which obviously keeps the opposition on their toes but it's easier to defend a set piece than to attack it as you can read the flight path better and defend your space.

Very happy with the result and 4 different scorers is also a good thing. Not a good day concerning the amount of injuries that we've picked up and fingers crossed none of them are serious.
Brilliant to keep another clean sheet and long may that continue.
A decent performance and good to see Bassey getting some minutes and he looked quite comfortable on the ball getting forward.
Well done rangers another 3 comfortable points onwards and upwards and let's go to Gibraltar and get another win in europe.

Think we are being a bit harsh on Hagi. At least he is trying shots from outside the box, yes off target but he is getting those shots away and at times through / past a heavily defended 18 yard box.
More to come from him I am sure and pretty sure his shots will lead to goals for himself and players running in for scraps, for me I'm happy for him to take the shot on if a better opportunity isn't available.

Sad for Morelos, he's only had 1 day off the last 2 weeks and done extra training to get fitter. He was doing well today and the Dundee utd player should have been off. He will get a post match ban. Great team performance and the players who came on all done very well and took their chance. Just herd Morles only a gash nothing serious.

K so the injuries to Bolangon, Jack. and Barker were not the fault oif the United players. Having said that United kicked us of the park with Kent and Hagi taking some heavy tackles and I'm surprised more were not booked. If Morelos had made the takle that seen him stretchere off, he would have been red carded - no doubt. If as looks likely it is a flesh wound he may be available for Wednesday. 4 International substitutes, good back up.

I think the intended shape was to maintain 4-2-3-1, but the fluidity of our attacking 4 will mean our shape will morph into whatever dependant on the phase of the attack we are at.
I said it earlier, Alfies movement was impressive when he came on. He and Roofe were interchanging, Alfie would come deep and Roofe would move into the space left by Alfie.
I honestly don't think we can say it was definitely this shape or that, yes when they put out the starting 11 the commentators need to put a formation with it but take that with a pinch of salt which is a breath of fresh air on seasons gone by.
