Here's a stat i've just had a text message sent to me regarding and i'm sure the king of stats on here MPH, will be able to confirm ?I'm informed that big dessers is only now 1 goal behind jelavic's best scoring season for us and already scored more than alfie's best scoring season for us ?Well done big dessers and i wouldn't have thought that like many because a lot of focus is always placed on the chances he misses and that's probably why his good goalscoring record is overlooked ?I realise big cyriel probably should have been over the 30 goals mark but let's give the big fella credit for the goals he has scored for us ???.

If you looked at the bare numbers of Dessers' time with Rangers, you could only conclude that this guy is one of the most prolific strikers the club has had in the last 20 seasons.
Taking out their years in the lower leagues - where goals were a whole lot easier to come by - his tally is only bettered by the single-season totals of Alfredo Morelos, Kenny Miller, Kris Boyd, Nacho Novo and Dado Prso over the last two decades.
With six games left to play - five in the league and the cup final against Celtic - he's already scored more goals than Antonio Colak, Kemar Roofe and Jermain Defoe ever did in one season.
Over the past 20 years, he's outscored Daniel Cousins and Jean-Claude Darcheville, Peter Lovenkrands, Shota Arveladze and Michael Mols and many other Rangers strikers in that timeframe.
Nobody is saying that Dessers is the second coming of Ally McCoist, but he only needs one more to move ahead of the best season Nikica Jelavic ever had at Ibrox.
Jelavic only had one full one, but Dessers has matched him so far. His numbers defy some of the evidence of our own eyes.

yes, that's english take, good numbers, but missed multiple chances, winning trophies is what counts, and its the on, y thing that counts, you should be scoring plenty at rangers or celtic imo.

I think its important to consider the amount of minutes played between Dessers, Roofe and Colak. If Roofe and Colak played as much minutes as Dessers I'm absolutely confident that they both would easily out score Dessers. Dessers misses too many crucial chances for me and is not a natural finisher.
You're right though if you watch him play, at times you think he's horrific but then you look at his goals scored and it doesn't quite add up.

I’m hoping he continues to score for us this season and surpasses the names mentioned above. We would then get a very good fee for him at end of season. I’ll back him while he wears our jersey but we need better.

I’m also sure he’s scored more goals from open play than Shankland.
Certainly not an outstanding centre forward but he can score goals and I think he’s reputation is still hindered from his performances under Beale.
I hope he’s not leading the line week in and week out but I think there’s a space in the squad for him, he’s rarely injured as well.

I agree with storm totally regarding big cyriel dessers, as he's been prominent on here on backing the big fella constantly and that's why i've mentioned storm in particular here. ? As i've said before, i back every player that dons our famous rangers jersey whether they're my favourite player or not, because i'll always want them to do superb and i'll back them to the hilt.
I've known supporters who sit near me at ibrox who want dessers to fail because they don't rate the big fella and want him out, i could never be that type of supporter ??I'm not going to state here that dessers is the best rangers striker we've ever had or that he's superb, but i'll tell you something he's nowhere near as bad as some would have you believing. ?
The big fella gives his absolute all and even if he missed a few easy chances within a game, he never hides and comes back to have a go at the next chance, that comes his way ?He undoubtedly has the correct attitude i would expect/ want a rangers player to have?He definitely has the mentality required to play for rangers. ?
Too much i feel is focused on the easy chances undoubtedly he's missed which obscures the good goals and goal tally, he currently has for rangers ?He has good attributes no doubt and should be given more praise by some of our own supporters who just constantly berate the guy ? Totally agree Scotty, I however would not be surprised if clement keeps him as backup, remember roofe will probably leave, sima May go, Danilo coming back from long-term injury,
20 goals and 9 assists always available.

Dessers link up play is hands down better than shankland, but shankland's finishing is hands down better than dessers. Dessers ain’t been nearly as bad as some panty wetters think on here.
Am I right in saying only 5 strikers have scored more than 20 goals a season in the last 20/ 25 years? If so it puts to bed the bs that rangers strikers should be scoring bucket loads.
People been crying out for 20 goal striker a year for years. They get one and still not happy as he ain’t good enough ?.

You would think he was a goal away from 30 with words like prolific getting banded about, being compared to guys that won titles.
Our bread and butter is to win the spl, imo 13 goals is not good enough lots will disagree, fair enough, just remember Alfred morelos was posting around same numbers for 6 year, we won 1 title. Not saying he's hopeless, but his numbers don't defy my eyes.

I’d rather have a striker who is fit and helping the team than an if, but, maybe couple of strikers.
