I see Clement has said we need solutions for No. 10 position.
I would like to see Diomande played there. But we need a capable CM to take his position. I just think if he's given freedom to play further up he can really shine.
Maybe if we Jordan over the line, him and Barron can be the sitting CM.
My Star suggested Danilo and when he's fit and imo he could definitely do a job in there alongside an out and out goalscorer. He was once called the 'Pressing Bullet'and the gaffer wants us to press from the front so could be another option.

fans are going to be in shock this season when they find out Diomande and Danilo are worse than what we had last season, Danilo has to outscore Dessers total from last season and he's known to miss as many sitters, Diomande has to be the most overrated rangers player I've seen in recent times, you hammered Lundstram last season when Diomande caused most of the issues, you see it in the friendlies we take him off and bring Baron on and we look a better team, Baron looks a far better player than Diomande, no evidence that Danilo is better than Dessers.

I also have concerns about Diomande in midfield, very light weight and never looks like he's controlling the game. £4.5m is a lot of money and in my opinion he looks nothing like the player we were expecting. It is early days of pre season though.
Danilo is not a number 10 either, for me we have to play players in their natural position and not here there and everywhere, this has been an issue under previous managers. We have to learn from previous mistakes.

We have at least 4 players able to play in #10 position - Lawrence, Dowell, Hagi, Cantwell. With Cantwell asking to be out and Dowell injured, we still have two, why they were not played yesterday?

But I disagree with you mate. Danilo is a far better player than Dessers. And once he's upto to speed you will see the goals will come. Look at his goalscoring (evidence) before he came and he got injured. We will see the best of him this season.
Dio overrated? I've saw enough of him to see that he is a talented boy. He cuts a frustrated figure as he tries to do too much, hence why I suggested playing him further forward.
And look Lundstram came in for flack because it was warranted, he chucked the towel in after a promising start. And he's away now anyway so it's irrelevant.

I have to say, I think Diomande has received a hype he's done nothing to deserve at this point as well. In fairness, he clearly has talent and looks to be a better technical standard than what we've had in there, but he's caused us problems in big games against better players (Europe his mistake knocked us out and against Celtic he was run ragged) .
I think there's a player there, but as happens a lot with Rangers fans many already seem to think he's a lot better than he's actually shown. Did the same with Raskin. Did the same with Cantwell. Did the same with Danillo (who for me was worse than Dessers before he got injured last season) .
I think both Danillo and Diomande have a place in the squad and Diomande in particular could improve with better players, but he's overhyped so far and would be behind Barron based on what I've seen in terms of that midfield position (if I had to choose between the two), simply for the energy and leadership qualities Barron seems to have.

As much as I'm not happy about it, because we are letting Hagi, Cantwell and Lammers go I am not so confident we will see the back of Wright and Lawrence. Lowry clearing being tested although not really setting heather alight.
I think we will see one number 10 in and then Lawrence and Wright being back up. Mainly as they won't bring much cash in and the others mentioned are bigger issues.

I get your point about Danilo and the previous managers playing players out of position but having said that, it doesn't mean we shouldn't try things again. I do believe he would do a job there imo.
And for me Dio isn't a sitting CM so u could argue he's played outta position. I reckon he'd be better on the left side or pushed further forward to CAM.

said on other page, i would have shankland in place of dessers and danillo right now, neither is convincing and dessers one of the worst players I've personally ever seen at rangers, surely clement knows that, danillo never once convinced me but maybe he's better than what he showed, i hope so.

Danilo hasn't had a season where he's scored as many as Dessers last season, the fans perplex me at times with the favourites they pick, you got a striker in Danilo who missed as many sitters as Dessers before he got injured and you'd rather guess back him than you're 20+ goal striker, Barons out performed Diomande in preseason.

Jury is out on Danilo he’s never been able to get up to speed and have a run in team, diomande may well be better when we get another 6 in and he can play further up the pitch.
