Must admit a big IF here but if we got shankland and Sima I think that attacking 3 would score a lot of goals Cortez LW and big Sima RW with a clinical ST like Shankland - throwing Dessers in there does not give me the same excitement - 3 I mentioned if they stayed fit could win us the league with a couple of CB’s and a Mid - with imminent departures on the horizon to fund these players it may not be all doom and gloom like many fans seem to think already - we can win the league this year and the players manager board and fans need to believe it as well ??????.

1.5m would get Shankland I believe. I think we’ll go for him as a worst case scenario if all other targets fall through and it’s near the end of the window.

Truth be told if we’re looking to the future I’d rather spend on Miovski or Rhamani
But singing Shankland right now saves our season, I don’t expect us to finish 1st but with Shankland in I think we can expect to score goals against ( ( (them) ) ) next season which makes a cup double a real possibility
It also keeps Hearts away from us, as I’ll be honest I think it’s a battle for 2nd with us and them this season they’ve signed some tidy players
Side note - Losing our Captain and vice-captain means Shanks may just get himself the vice captain role, and we need a proven penalty taker which he is
Makes sense for us to sign him now more than it ever has.

I agree TT12 and with you storm, as i would also take shankland as he's proven in our league, which is our bread and butter ?I do think £3million for shanks, especially as he's only 1 year left on his hearts contract is a bit steep ?I think around the £2million mark possibly plus one of our players who's not going to feature much under clement this season, would be fair ? Possibly scott wright perhaps ?.

The big hope is champions league. At 3m I too think is a bit high for shankland but I think if we could get him for 2 or maybe less with a fringe player going other way on loan could be great business. If we reach champions league we could go out and buy a couple high quality players. I think 2 or 3 loans this season also reduces the money we need to spend especially with some great talent available.

Two years ago when signing for Hearts he had just scored 5 in 26 for Beerschot Wee Alex before that he had only scored 8 goals in our top flight in his career. Any interest shown will be because of his scoring record at hearts that's assuming there is or has been interest from us.

Why anybody wouldn't want Shankland is beyond me. We paid a combined transfer fee of 14 million for Lammers, Danilo and Dessers but a man that will score plenty ain't worth 3 million. If Walter smith was manager he would've been in 2 seasons ago.
