Rangers been watching Daniel Bentley at Bristol City. Seemingly the guy quite well regarded.

Is this the GK we were linked with while Warburton was manager.

2.) 04 Oct 2021 18:13:26
Yes same GK.

3.) 04 Oct 2021 18:34:12
@bellshill - I think so! Don't know much about him but apparently Southampton were interested in the summer (I assume as back-up) .

4.) 06 Oct 2021 13:33:17
Kept an eye out after we were linked. Looks a solid enough keeper. For me personally I think we need to put some trust in McCrorie when mcgregor retires. Either the lad is good enough, in my opinion he is, and should be our no1 or he isn't ready and should be sent out on loan. I don't see the logic in keeping him at ibrox this season. He needs games in my opinion.

5.) 07 Oct 2021 08:45:39
Have to remember the boy was needed for important European qualifier and old firm game. Had he been out in loan we would have had to have used Firth so for me the decision to keep him was validated as Gerrard knows Mcgregor will miss more games and we want McCrorie at least on bench when he does.
On that point I would have got rid of Firth though if we were keeping the other 3 for this season.

6.) 07 Oct 2021 11:20:44
Could not use Firth as English and would not be eligible.

7.) 07 Oct 2021 17:24:01
Interesting thing about doehki, hary Souter and Cooper all used to playing as a three.

Has anyone heard about a possible deal involving Dwight Gayle as part of a deal for Morelos?

Daethebouncy

1.) 28 Jun 2020 19:47:59
Think we would require full price for morelos and some extra to take gayle off their hands. Even then we'd be getting robbed.

2.) 28 Jun 2020 20:28:55
After tonight's miss?

3.) 28 Jun 2020 20:35:12
Must admit, I've seen him miss many like that if not worse, not for me, my opinion of course.

4.) 28 Jun 2020 21:39:52
Watford go down you might see stevie g put a bid in for danny wellbeck?

5.) 28 Jun 2020 22:58:21
How on earth can anyone believe any deal for Newcastle at the moment? Still going under the process of a takeover and it’s likely that if successful Bruce won’t be the manager.

6.) 29 Jun 2020 10:25:25
Doesn’t fit the profile.

7.) 29 Jun 2020 12:21:24
55 rangers I've seen Messi and Ronaldo missing same sort of chance as Gayle did last nite.

8.) 29 Jun 2020 12:58:28
You 're 100% counties post came up about 20 mins before the miss had to mention it. i'd get behind him if he did sign obviously but he doesn't fill me with optimism. he'd also be in a decent waga it d be a gamble.

9.) 29 Jun 2020 14:15:25
Gayle would be a good signing in my opinion, think he would score a barrow load up here.

To say no when he has missed a sitter shows people lack of knowledge because even the best miss sitters.

10.) 29 Jun 2020 16:11:37
Correct kJ McCoist missed a few in his day as does Alf.
The worrying thing would be if they were not getting chances.

11.) 29 Jun 2020 16:57:46
His miss v city is nothing compared to the absolute howlers morelos has missed v them lot.

Has anyone else seen or heard anything regarding Jack Wilshire coming on a free for 12 month contract?

Daethebouncy

1.) 11 Apr 2020 15:13:14
To play 3 games a Season 🤪🤪🤪.

2.) 11 Apr 2020 15:44:35
He's not nicknamed Jack Wheelchair for nothing.

3.) 11 Apr 2020 17:01:22

Does anyone else think that since Gio has come in that we have been playing better football and also improved certain players?

Does anyone think that Gio may also give a chance for some of the youngsters doing well for the B team a chance to be in matchday squads? I would like to see King on the bench.

Arfield said yesterday that we are more positive in our play under GVB. We are more organised. Kent being played back out wide instead of an inside 10🤦‍♂️ has already saw massive improvements, proven with his MOM performance last night. We aren't shipping goals or all over the place defensively. I had been saying for a while that SG's tactics were the issue. I have stated this stat a few times now but it really does tell its own story. In the last 6 games of SG we conceded first in each game. In 23 games under SG this season we conceded 21 goals. Under GVB, in 5 games we have scored first in each game and conceded only 2 goals. Quite a turnaround. Tactically inept does not begin to describe SG. Gio will give players a chance as we saw the other night. I'm delighted that we now have a manager who will adapt tactics to suit each game.

2.) 11 Dec 2021 10:15:46
Well find out tomorrow if he's got us playing better mate hope so.

3.) 11 Dec 2021 10:16:20
I don't think we've hit the form of some of our best games of last season but that's down to the players IMO. GVB has made us a bit more robust defensively in certain areas but we looked very venerable at set pieces the other night, need another telegraph pole in there to help Goldson, Bassey is doing a fantastic job filling in but would be more comfortable with LB or PH at set pieces. Still a work in progress which we would expect. What he has done is given the team a lift which is where SG was failing without a squad refresh. Hearts are set piece specialists and I think they have scored a few from them. Important to keep corners and silly fouls high up the pitch to a minimum.

4.) 11 Dec 2021 11:27:43
Defence clearly improved. don't see much change in kent. he will definitely be away come the summer. Along with many others. Some will be gios choice others may way away themselves. Big change out come the summer regardless if we win league or not.

5.) 11 Dec 2021 12:02:13
Players always get a wee lift when a new manager arrives.
It's whether they continue to buy into his methods and so far so good.
As for youth? I'm not sure. We have decent quality in most positions but I'm sure Gio will be keeping an eye on the young players.

6.) 11 Dec 2021 13:24:06
I keep asking what players from youth team would people promote to first team, still waiting on an answer.

7.) 11 Dec 2021 14:33:14
If tactically inept wins us the league I’ll settle for that every day of the week but then I don’t claim to be the guru of all things football coaching.

12 Nov 2021 16:51:53
Who is going to be in charge of the team until new manager comes in?

Daethebouncy

1.) 12 Nov 2021 17:23:56
I think we will have a new manager in place by early next week mate.

10 Nov 2021 15:59:01
I would have loved Gerrard to stay until the end of the season.

But, as much as we would want him to stay, can we blame him for taking this opportunity?

If he is to go, he has got us in a decent position and has improved the team as well as winning us title no.55. I will wish Gerrard all the best if he goes.

Daethebouncy

1.) 10 Nov 2021 16:10:21
Fully agree but if the Board get it wrong with their next Managerial Appointment then all the good that Gerrard has done will be undone overnight!

2.) 10 Nov 2021 16:22:15
Exactly the guy has some exceptional for us. I for one am grateful to him for his work and effort.

3.) 10 Nov 2021 17:06:49
1/ 9 trophies is not exceptional.

4.) 10 Nov 2021 18:06:22
Storm it was not just about trophies although 55 was our Mecca.
Rangers, thanks to gerrard made circa 70 million in Europe, he introduced us to Castore.
Helped overall first team, academy and how we r perceived European wide.
If he leaves I for one will be eternally grateful because the other option does not bear thinking,
Imo we would have folded.
No man is bigger than our club, Gerrard has laid the foundation it is now for others to take us forward.
It is all about Rangers no one else. I am stunned by those who have conceded league already.
Park and Wilson now face their biggest challenge.

10 Nov 2021 12:38:38
Van Bronkhorst and Kevin Thompson for me if Gerrard goes.

27 Oct 2021 22:21:24
IMO I think we would be better with a 4-2-3-1. There seems to be too many gaps in behind front 3, giving other teams time on the ball. Also not sure Morelos and Roofe can be in the same team. Also don't think their is enough movement up front when the ball is with midfielders. Think this is why the ball gets played sideways and backwards alot. I'm not sure about Hagi, personally I think if he starts he would be better playing just behind the strikers instead of wide as he does not have pace to go past players.

In the next transfer who/ what do you think we need? I think we need more pace in the team, especially at the back. Maybe we could get Gilmour on loan for 2nd half of season.

1.) 28 Oct 2021 00:27:30
Ryan Jack coming back into midfield is massive Kent back will be a boost but for me big helander is sorely missed his reading of the game is top drawer.
A bit more work on the training ground also required our patterns of play aren't as sharp as the once were we need to get back to playing out FBs higher and that will come with jacko back in the side.
As for transfers I'd like us to bring in a center half and possibly a winger.

2.) 28 Oct 2021 06:45:13
Jzer how long will it take Jack to get match fitness?

3.) 28 Oct 2021 07:08:44
Who would helander come in for because balagoun has been best centre half over the time he has been out amd goldson, it seems is undroppable.

4.) 28 Oct 2021 07:29:22
I'd let goldson go asap he's leaving for free next summer let him go in January if we can as having a vice captain not sure about the club is wrong and toxic.

5.) 28 Oct 2021 08:53:08
Jzer you are absolutely spot on!

6.) 28 Oct 2021 12:20:01
Have to agree with Livibear. I had posted some weeks ago that if possible get Goldson out in January, He’s spat the dummy at the contract that Rangers have offered, No good keeping a player if his ambitions are elsewhere, Bring in one or two out of contract players with experience at a good level to see out the last 5 months maybe longer. Or promote from the youngsters
🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽️👍.

7.) 29 Oct 2021 16:54:21
Guys as regards Goldson, I feel that he's overrated and will at best be bottom 6 in EPL or Championship. He's been a bomb scare in this playing out from the back, yes, he does ping a decent diagonal ball, but we're far too slow in our build up play. Get some more positive players in the team who want to play for this great Club of ours.

Tjrfc, sorry bud. I meant that to add, in previous message, that I would rather have Brewster than Dykes. I do believe we need 4 strikers who are goalscorers. This would give cover over the season for suspension or injuries.

I don't think Bassey should be a CB. More beneficial at left back. I'm sure come end of the window at least 2 of above list of CB will either be sold or out on loan. Simpson probably the worst of the CB. Think Katic/ Helander will either be sold or out on loan. Youth will not be given a chance at CB. Its ok saying there are 5 CB, but are they any good? I think the 3 free transfers are better defenders than at least 2 of the current CB. Ideally i would like to see us sign a CB with a bit of pace. Think we gave already seen CB getting caught out by being slow.
