For the money we paid for him, John, and his weekly wage, I can see why you say that, but there was a time where he contributed a lot, and in the big games. Jack? Well, that's a different story, and as you say, he was an "absolute waste of money"!

So, there is no way anyone can say he was a waste of money in his first 2 seasons, and if you add up his total games for us, and goals, then it's 98 games 38 goals.
Yip, I agree he has never played enough for us, and his injury history is horrific, but the guy, at one time, contributed a lot to the team, but certainly not enough.
My username is a giveaway, and I am a big fan of the boy, but he must not be given a new contract and it's time to move on.

My star we have known something far wrong with roofe for a long time. can't wait to get him off the wage bill come the summer. One of the highest earners yet always injured. Another big fee leaving for free also.

Ror, 4 million fee and 1.7 million a year, less than 12 starts since before Seville.

I agree John waste of money especially with the amount he has got over the last 4 years.
I can’t see roofe starting any game till end of season. It’s also no surprise as we have knowing for a long time what he is like.

I agree with everything you're saying there, John, and I have made that point myself. All I'm pointing out was that there was a time where Roofe wasn't a waste of money, where he scored many a good goal, and in some really big games.
