A lot of posters have commented that the want sterling in lundstram in midfield to press mcgregor and oriley and stifle them.
What happens when we win the ball back? Do you not want more creative players in the middle who can do something else with it other than press and tackle. Neither of them are known for scoring many goals or creating.
I think that has cost us a lot of times in various seasons by playing too many defensive minded midfielders.
Trouble with that is it reduces your attacking output.
Its certainly a conundrum picking a team at weekend but we are at home and need to win so setting out to contain celtic is not what i'd like to see. We attack them we will win the game. I cannot wait to be there and see it!

A lot depends on who is fit and can they last for 90 minutes. With the majority of our players now back in training I'm sure that Clement will have a good idea of his game plan and will let Celtic worry about how they stop us rather than worrying about them.

Fair point Dado, wonder if Lawrence gets the nod on Sunday, clever player and would have no fears about him, probably good for an hour with the way we play as recent games have shown us, Liked Sterling on the right of midfield and he can fill in when Diomande pushes on, and would double up with Tavernier when needed.
It’s going to need all areas to function well.

For me it's a home game so we have to creative in midfield our strikeforce is weak ai in my head attacking midfield play will create additional chances 18 -25 yards out . The gamer could be tight for 1st 60 mins but the onus is, in us to push to win.

Diomande will play. I'd play Sterling LB. Borna has been a good servant but the sight of him now gives me the fear.

A wish Jack was 100 percent a midfield of him lunny and sterling would be superb we need to win the battle in the middle of the park.

I think Lawerence will start instead of Cantwell, Lundstram and Diomande in midfield, Sterling on the right and Silva on the left. Would love Sima as the 9 but not sure if fit enough to start.

Playing Stirling instead of Wright is not containing its playing the best players for that particular game.

Dado prso, aye we have Tav, but he struggles sometimes defensively against Maeda, needs to handle him, goldson also not the same, think they will target our right side imo.

Dado Prso is right, and we must not get overrun in midfield, or that's it. When we win the battle in midfield, we win the game!
If Ridvan is fit, I'd have Sterling, Lundstrum and Diamonde in the midfield. If McGregor is fit, stick Sterling on him and stifle him. If we isolate him, we isolate most of their play through the middle. It's not rocket science!

That would be my team.
If everyone were fit, available and had been playing, the only change I'd make to that is Sima for Silva. I think that 11 (with Ridvan and Sima) is our strongest right now, when all fit.
Personally, I think we're a better team with Lawrence at 10 than Cantwell. I know not a popular opinion.

Raise, I wouldn’t put Sterling on McGregor as he will just move around to find space and we either say to Sterling stay with him or stay disciplined on the right,
I believe playing Lawrence in that area will disrupt McGregor getting on the ball. We will win this game if we are aggressive, disciplined and take the game to them and take our chances.

Right side of defence I'm on about RTR, spot on about M/ F u and Dado, if they do us in the middle of the park, then as I said they will target right side.
