An absolute terrible signing, one of the very worst.
Did we pay him 40kpw? I don't think we did?! He did cost us a bloody fortune for no return.

My star there is a very good article by Dingwall of follow follow
He says we paid ball 35k a week on a 6.5 million transfer fee. When he played 60 games we owed Everton 500k, hence we stopped playing him
However an agreement was reached that for every game played at end of his ibrox career he had to pay Everton 4 k.

Michael Ball was a top class fullback during his time at Everton. I doubt that he would have left Everton for us in 2001 if they hadn't had financial problems and he was playing well for us until he was badly injured, (which resulted in him being out of the game for over a year) .

Yes, agree Berkshire he was top class, but it was about who cost us the most money will barely a return and he's right up there mate.
