Hi All,

First post - please don't shoot me down. Hope this is posted on the correct forum.

As per the name just pondering ideal signings based on where we are, the type of signings, recruitment policies that we may expect from Koppen and Clement.

I think it's fair to say based on January. The signings we will likely make in the summer, we won't even have good understanding on until they're practically in the door (I. e Diomande, Cortes, Silva) .

So having done some market player research. These could be some interesting players to ponder.

GK - Vanja Milinković-Savić (Torino) Current market value 6m.
Commanding (6 ft 8) shot stopping, reflexes. Serbia International.
27 year old.
- Butland Replacement

RB - Said Abdulhamid ( Al - Hilal )
Current Market value 2.8m
Pacey, direct, technical fullback with good defensive ability.
24 year old.
- Tavernier Replacement

CB - Leopold Querfeld (Rapid Vienna)
Current Market Value 3.5m
Physical, great tackler / interceptions. Good with the ball at his feet. Austria International. 20 year old.
- Goldson Replacement

LB - Bartlomiej Wdomik (Jagiellonia)
Current Market Value 3m
Technical, crossing, attacking prowess.
Poland International.
23 year old.
- Barisic Replacement

CDM - Marc Casado (Barcelona)
Current Market Value 1.5m
Tenacity, range of passing, forward thinking. 20 year old.
- Lundstram Replacement
P. S I think this is the player we need to build our midfield around, in the mold of Davis, Gilmour. Looks suited for Clements direct style. Out of contract in two months.

CM - N/ A Dio and Sterling should provide enough here. Maybe bring in a young Scotsman. Barron, Miller. Need more Scottish players to help with European squads.

CAM - N/ A Cantwell, Lawrence, Hagi. Depending on how the summer goes. Should be enough for this position.

LW - Roger (Braga)
Current Market Value 6m
Direct, dribbler, pacey, dynamic.
18 year old
- LW replacement (Cortes Alternative)

RW - Marco Pasalic ( Rijeka )
Current Market Value 3.5m
Technique, inverted, combination play, shooting. Croatia International.
23 year old
- RW replacement (Sima Alternative)

ST - Franculino ( Midtjylland )
Current Market Value 2.5m
Pacey, clinical finisher, instinctive, athletic.
Guinea-Bissau International.
19 year old.
- Roofe Replacement.

A football manager player, i'm a fan.

Great insight mate some amazing players there.

25 Apr 2024 21:16:23
I agree with you regarding Querfeld and France lino they would be great and profitable in future.
For RB I would like to see Jayden Bogle and niko sigur or Adis Jasic brought in if Tav leaves. Both great options and with 2 in Sterling could convert to midfield.
Rw I would be looking to get anis Hadj Moussa from Vitesse. Reminds me of Mahrez.

A nice change from the usual calls for Lewis Ferguson and Shankland.

25 Apr 2024 21:52:24
Boyle would be a good signing blue, ooc i think.

25 Apr 2024 22:10:36
Good post. Only think I would disagree with is keeping Cantwell, Lawrence and hagi into 2 go, but definitely Hagi.

Thanks all for the positive chat, appreciate it!

@Bluerunner yeah, Franculino, Casado and Querfeld I think have the best upside from the players above, and not necessarily that expensive either. Thanks for your insight on players as well, I’ll defo’s have a look into them. The boy Moussa looks unpolished (which I understand is the market we are in now) but a lot of potential there if developed right.

@stormtrooper1 - Understandable. I didn’t want to go OTT with the suggestions on players, as can’t imagine there will be movement in every position we have and the 10 slot is arguably the least criticised area (outside of GK - Thanks Butland! ) with 3 fairly adept players we have on the books. I agree I don’t expect all 3 to stay and neither would I want them all to stay, but don’t expect us to sign anyone in that position.

Great first post, very interesting. Couple of bigger money signings really are idealist views but a couple of good affordable players in there too, interesting summer.

26 Apr 2024 11:53:40
Welcome on board RI good first post ???????????.

26 Apr 2024 17:01:16
Welcome RI.

Some interesting info in there.

For CAM I would be happy to see Hagi go. Not been overly impressed by Lawrence recently either. Seems like his legs have gone and recent injury record suggests it won’t be long until he is out again so we should be looking for better in that role.
