Watched today and it wasn't confidence inducing.
Butland- looks shaky in comparison to last season. Still easy no.1 but think the slip last time has unsettled him. Back on form soon hopefully.
Sterling- athletic and strong defensively but little going forward.
Davies and Souttar. Most attacks came from wide and no big no.9 o deal with so little playing into their area.
Jefte - ran ragged. Raw and will have easier challenges. Looking forward to seeing his growth.

1.) 21 Jul 2024 01:15:30
Managed to send before finishing.
Thought Barron and Diomande were good in midfield relatively speaking.
Lawrence shows more goal threat than our other 10's but was clearly rusty still.
Cortes is miles off and with 2 weeks to ho will not be up to speed.
Wright and Dessers doing Wright and Dessers type things.

2.) 21 Jul 2024 07:48:59
Lawrence just doesn’t have any pace so a no from me.

3.) 21 Jul 2024 08:32:59
Man U m team was full of multi million pound players regardless of their age and we had some young ones out as well. Problem is up front we don’t look like we have a goal in us . Club need to get a couple of tried and tested strikers in to give everyone a lift.

09 Jul 2024 07:24:31
I know we would all like to see a couple of new CB's in this summer but a wee thinker this morning for the sake of conversation.
IF you could only sign one (RCB or LCB) and replace Goldson or a. n. other (Davies for example) which would u choose?

Every year before I would have replaced LCB taking out Davies but this year I feel I would replace Goldson.

What about yourselves?

1.) 09 Jul 2024 08:22:32
Goldson all day long, Davies done well towards the end of the season though, but we will need better, both LCB and RCB.

2.) 09 Jul 2024 08:33:58
Davies because he has hardly kicked a ball and when he has he hasn’t looked great. For all his flaws Goldson is at least available 95% of the time. I do want him gone though as well as Davies, but for the sake of your argument, if I was to choose one it would be Davies.

3.) 09 Jul 2024 08:43:12
I don’t think we will replace both.
Replace Goldson, keep Davies.
I thought Davies has been pretty solid.
Goldson has been a great signing for us, has been going backwards and I think we need to move on to improve as a team.

4.) 09 Jul 2024 11:50:06
Goldson is the best CB in Scotland. His mind has been on his little one and he was then unfortunate with the injury. He will be back stronger and fitter this year ??????.

5.) 09 Jul 2024 12:24:52
Gaz are you taking the p.? He isn’t CCV is miles a head of him for a start.

6.) 09 Jul 2024 12:31:54
Our left canter back last season was Souttar.

Davies must go.

22 May 2024 09:09:54
How I see it-
Butland - Stays - If leaves I would like to see us go for Vladan Kovacevic
McCrorie - Loan/ Sell - Replace with Liam Kelly
McLaughlin - Release - Replace with youth.

Tav - Sell - Replace with Ben Johnson/ Jaydon Bogle
Devine - Loan out - Repalce with Max Johnstone

Barasic - Release - Replace with Jefte
Yilmaz - Keep - If good money comes in though, loan in Owen Beck.

Goldson - Sell - Replace with Leopold Querfeld or Riechedly Bazoer
Balogun - Release - Scott McKenna, Paddy McNair or Jonathon Panzo
Souttar - Stays
Davies - Sell - Cordoba comes in.
King - Loan/ sell - Jakub Piotrowski or Andrian Kraev (CDMs)

Jack - Release - Connor Barron
Sterling - Keep
Diomande - Keep
Raskin - I would keep
Lunny - Release - Lennon Miller but this area I am struggling.
Dowell - Sell

Lawrence - Sell - Callum O'Hare
Cifuentes - Sell - Misehuoy
Cantwell - Keep
Lowry - Loan/ Sell
Hagi - Sell - Katejan Szmyt

Wright - Sell - Anis Hadj Moussa
McCausland - Keep
Cortes - Another year loan to buy.

Sima - Buy
Matondo - Sell - Koki Saito, Mofokeng,

Dessers - Sell - Barnabas Varga, Chris Wood, Oli McBurnie
Roofe - Release - Rafiu Durosinmi, Albi Rrahmani.
Danilo - Keep
Lammers - Sell

I get this is a lot and quite sweeping! However it is the level of work I think we need.

1.) 22 May 2024 10:35:01
Max Johnstone isn’t giving up champions league football to sit on our bench.

2.) 22 May 2024 10:47:38
More or less agree with you Bluerunner. Big rebuild job needed.

3.) 22 May 2024 11:01:50
If Dowell could stay fit then i'd be tempted to keep him for back up to be honest.

Also bring in Watson and maybe also Armstrong from Killie.

And not bothered with Sima, I don't rate him and think he will be too expensive.

4.) 22 May 2024 11:06:32
Few interesting names mate, but we have a ready made tav replacement already- Sterling. Clement has shown he doesn’t see him as a Cm as he prefers players better on the ball.

5.) 22 May 2024 11:12:28
Blue and how do u intend to fund this.

6.) 22 May 2024 11:57:57
Good question John. The rumoured £25m won't go that far so many of these guys are out of contract. I know costs still involved but with selling a good few and reduction in wages I would hope we have it covered. also a good few others only have 1 year left so hoping savings involved there.

Out of contract - Liam Kelly, Ben Johnson/ Jaydon Bogle, Jefte, Scott McKenna, Paddy McNair, Andrian Kraev, Callum O'Hare, Misehuoy, Anis Hadj Moussa, Chris Wood, Oli McBurnie.
Owen Beck is a loan.
1 year left - Leopold Querfeld/ Riechedly Bazoer/ Jonathon Panxzo, Lennon Miller, Kajetan Szmyt, koki Saito.

7.) 22 May 2024 12:20:22
Wishy - I would agree that Sterling is a great player for us. I suppose it comes down to where Clement sees him.
Ally - IF Dowell can stay fit - I believe there is a type of player who is comfortable stepping away at the slightest niggle. Dowell falls into this category for me. Alongside a good few others.
If Johnstone not an options I would like to see Anis Jasic brought in.

8.) 22 May 2024 12:20:47
Saudi Prince John ?.

9.) 22 May 2024 12:23:39
Where do the funds come from?, we have also started upgrading the stadium!, which will cost a bit.
As for Devine, King, Lowry, sorry but if they have not broken into first team by now, I would let them go and continue their career elsewhere, just my opinion.

10.) 22 May 2024 12:26:48
And what about euro squad quotas not many Scottish or home grown players left.

11.) 22 May 2024 12:35:04
Bluerunners Sales would bring in £15million (without Butland) . I am sure the Club could add a few Million to this thereby giving us a Healthy Transfer Budget.

12.) 22 May 2024 12:35:27
John27, with the 12/ 13 he would sell the 5/ 6 being released 25 million you said we have to spend would be a start. The guy knows he's we ain't gona get all them, but put a lot of thought into his post. Good post blue.

13.) 22 May 2024 13:11:16
Boy blue, fantasy football.

14.) 22 May 2024 13:25:23
John it is very much fantasy football. I wouldn't expect all to happen but just sharing for sake of conversation.
I work in banking so can't say I have any experience with football management or negotiations.

15.) 22 May 2024 13:33:32
This sounds like football manager to me.

Interesting someone rates dowell who has done next to nothing in rangers strip but doesn’t rate sima strange bunch our fans.

16.) 22 May 2024 13:46:07
John of course it is, but as I said I'm sure he's not thinking it's going to happen, just what he would like to happen.

09 May 2024 20:33:56
Many on here have stated that Cantwell is not good enough recently and flatters to deceive.

So if you don't rate him and want him out, how much would you accept for him?

1.) 09 May 2024 21:19:07
3/ 5m given his age.

2.) 09 May 2024 21:44:19
Agree ows 3-5m max your getting for him.

3.) 09 May 2024 21:48:29
I defy anyone telling me that todd cantwell isn't a talented footballer because he is and there's absolutely no doubt about that. He's not hit the heights this season so far which of course is a fair assessment and i put that down to injuries and a stop start season for him so far. ?

His first 4 or so months with us showed how good he can be and if he can get a run without being interrupted by niggling injuries, i'm sure he'll find that undoubted class/ form again for us ? Sometimes we're far too quick to want players sold on a whim because they've lost a bit of form. ?

Cantwell is a very good footballer and his performance against hearts of late in the scottish cup semi final proves what he can do, because he was easily the most talented and best player on the park at hampden who at his best is sometimes moves ahead of his teammates ?.

4.) 09 May 2024 22:16:01
OWS, bang on the money mate, he covers a lot of ground with very little effect, occasionally has a bit of Ted McMinn about him.

5.) 09 May 2024 23:36:45
Could you dance round 10 men behind the ball? that's what he is faced with. Who better you going to get for 1m that we paid?
Hes one of the few in our team who can dribble. He gets a hard time because no1 else can do it and he's expected to.

6.) 10 May 2024 00:09:56
If decision is to sell Cantwell, do you think anyone will offer 3 to 5m for him . Will be lucky to get our money back.

7.) 10 May 2024 05:11:06
I agree dado ? Where i sit in the copland everyone around me rates him and likes him and you're correct mate he needs others to help as i feel too much ownuce is put on him and he himself trys to do too much ?He can absolutely produce the killer pass through the lines which has been proven before and if you speak to anyone down in england they'll tell you how talented a footballer cantwell is ?.

8.) 10 May 2024 06:04:11
28 games on league 5 goals 4 assists I'm sorry nowhere near good enough.

9.) 10 May 2024 06:39:31
He looked good when Tillman was in side, his work rate is high, in bigger games he tends to try too much and holds ball too long at times, ball needs to move quicker v Celtic etc to make the best of opportunities.

10.) 10 May 2024 07:07:32
Remember he didn't have that many after him when we bought him. Has he impressed enough to change people's opinions so we could expect decent bids? I'm not so sure. I like him but he needs to improve end product.

11.) 10 May 2024 07:25:34
I don’t think he’s a bad player but he flatters to deceive and doesn’t really influence a game anymore. It’s clear to see he doesn’t suit PC’s style of play and he’ll be back in the championship next season I suspect.

When we’re only playing 1 up top we need our wingers and number 10 to heavily influence the game, only Sima has really done this.

12.) 10 May 2024 08:19:39
3-5m. Talented, but nowhere near as good as many of our fans think he is IMO. Not to mention he cares about himself more than anything else.

Not a player that takes us forward IMO. A slightly faster version of Hagi who scores less goals and makes less assists (when comparing their first full league season. Hagi: P33, G7, A11. Cantwell: P28, G5, A4).

Not advocating for Hagi, just pointing out Cantwell is no better. Actually statistically poorer.

I'd personally move both on.

13.) 10 May 2024 08:38:51
We rejected just short of 2 million in January from a championship team.

14.) 10 May 2024 08:51:42
What's your thoughts john how highly do you rate cantwell yourself.

15.) 10 May 2024 09:45:24
We have no natural width and a 9 with limited movement that makes the role of a 10 very difficult. Cantwell is a player and one we should be keeping for next season.

16.) 10 May 2024 09:51:15
Walter, Take your blue tinted specs ? off. Cantwell has been largely poor for us.

17.) 10 May 2024 10:25:50
Cantwell has blown hot and cold like most number 10s do around world football. I do think he should have more in terms of goals and assists but we’ve got far bigger issues than Cantwell.

18.) 10 May 2024 10:35:36
Doubling down on cantwell just has the touches of what you done with Kent when he was there with all this talented nonsense. He was talented a good few years ago for 1/ 2 season max then disappeared and he had a good last half of last season for us but been utter rank this season.

19.) 10 may 2024 12:30:37
sorry coops , ask anyone in england?

that's the england were nobody wanted him, your right he does have talent

he's the type of boy who takes the ball at the 5 a sides and keeps it for agres, running round n round, until he has no choice but to either give it to a teammate or fall down.

20.) 10 May 2024 12:53:18
How many of dessers misses have been created by cantwell? Or we could be talking different numbers.
He is the least of our problems! There is a s.

21.) 10 May 2024 12:54:50
We are not going to replace him with any better at our budget let's be honest.

22.) 10 May 2024 13:18:28
I like cantwell and he can give u something different, but the way forward I doubt if he has a future at ibrox. problem he has is his relationship with the manager

He was not sold same as one or two others because our Europa squad would have been further reduced

Strange considering we were told he Raskin and Cifuentes were 20 million pound players with Todd going to win player of the year.

12 Feb 2024 16:30:20
How do we all think we are going to finance a new CB and Striker.
IF we are paying for Diomande, Cortes and allegedly Sima in the summer that is going to be 13M right away.
Then there is Barasic away (probably) means replacing LB.
How do we afford all that and get in the above?
Don't reckon we will get much for Davies/ Lammers/ Dessers/ Wright or any of the others we could move on.
Do we move on any major assets?

1.) 12 Feb 2024 20:12:47
Loan to buy the following year bluerunner, if a big offer comes in for any player then yes.

2.) 12 Feb 2024 20:19:11
Dont think we will buy sima personally. Also diomande deal is payments over 3 or 4 seasons as was stated today. Were also good on all fronts now for FFP uefa which is great news.

3.) 12 Feb 2024 20:20:26
I hope to god we don't sell jack butland or todd cantwell ? However i do understand money talks and every player is sellable for the correct price ?.

4.) 12 Feb 2024 20:23:45
But at same time player trading has to be good. Cifuentes valued still at 7mill on transfermarkt. Dessers get 3 mill. Ridvan possibly away in summer 4-5mill. Also have a sneaky feeling raskin may leave which again think we could get a decent fee. Hagi no idea how long he's got on contract will also likely move on.

5.) 13 Feb 2024 12:39:48
Dessers ain't getting sold for me.

6.) 13 Feb 2024 12:59:52
There will be a few away to raise some cash, Davies, Lammers, Cifuentes, Dessers, Matondo and Hagi, even at an average of a couple of million each that raises £12 million, maybe get something in for McCrorie and Dowell too.

I believe Tav is one of the best Right Backs we have ever had. A great player for us and will always be glad he played for us and achieved what he did.
Did we win enough trophies, no. Was he great defensively, no. Great captain, no.
If all 11 players brought to to the table what he did we would have won loads.
Having said this I do believe it is time for him to go and get on with what is left of his career elsewhere. I wish him every success. So the more we get the better.

Although unlikely that we can compete but we may just see how much Sima wants to be here. He needs to agree to go to Burnley!

Alloa I think you maybe taking the criticism aimed at Southgate as tho it's aimed at you. Not my intention at least.
Yes he played attacking players but negative tactics made this pointless.

Attacking team as in players yes but the tactics were so negative and dull they may as well have employed Steve Clarke.
For the first 20-30 mins Spain had 70% possession and it was only a matter of time before they scored. Anyone could see that Kane was too deep, Bellingham looked like the 9 and also obvious Williams was running amok on their Right.

I was considering this, 6 signings then silent period and recent statements that "nothing imminent".
I have a suspicion we have lined deals up but have agreed radio silence until our outbounds are agreed.
E. G. If we had lined up Rrahmani (fingers crossed) we would not bring him in until Dessers gone as had we brought someone in our position becomes weaker so we would be offered less?
You can then draw the same conclusions around replacing Lammers, Dessers and the likes of Tav.
With Saudi window opening in a few days and clubs hovering around the others we could see one move cause an avalanche.
This may just be wishful thinking!
