Jamie Murphy away to Burton Albion on loan. Shame I always liked him. Squad definitely needed thinning though.

1.) 15 Jan 2020 18:03:10
Should have loaned him to another SPL side though.

2.) 15 Jan 2020 18:10:16
I like him but he's now nowhere near the side just sell him same as all other guys going out on loan. Just get them off wage bill and sell them.

3.) 15 Jan 2020 18:19:36
I’m sure if we could receive a decent fee a lot of these guys would be sold. The younger players ie Middleton need games before knowing if they are anywhere near making the grade so would be hasty to allow them to go for peanuts if they turn out to be good at our level for other club.
I agree with poster who says ideally we would loan them out to other Premiership club so we can get good look at them, also let’s us know if they are capable in our league with a run of games with the added bonus they can play against that mob but not us.
This deal in particular I do find strange and felt he could play at bottom half Eng Championship team at least but if Burton are paying big portion of wages then it’s a no brainer to get him out playing.

4.) 15 Jan 2020 18:21:50
Murphy was s good signing and did a great job prior to his injury. Hope he comes good on his loan period and gets chance to resurrect career.

5.) 15 Jan 2020 18:23:24
Mikeger, maybe another SPL club didn't want him, maybe he didn't want to go to another SPL club, maybe this was the best deal for the player and the club, maybe our management team know what they're doing?

6.) 15 Jan 2020 19:44:18
I agree paul, sell them as they won't ever be good enough and the wages could be better spent👍.

7.) 15 Jan 2020 20:03:03
Coldo exactly. Murphy, grezda, herrera, docherty, polster, firth, alnwick, halliday, could all leave with no bearing on the squad.

8.) 15 Jan 2020 20:07:13
Linking up with previous manager. Think with murphy it's all about game time out of the spotlight of everything rangers.

9.) 15 Jan 2020 20:33:27
Disagree loaning him to an spfl club. The plastic pitches caused his injury in the first place so no!

10.) 15 Jan 2020 23:09:10
Murphy is better than Barker, Ojo or Jones. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him back next season if he has a good loan spell. We just couldn’t give him the games to get his fitness up, too much at stake. Agree about letting the rest go, with the possible exception of Docherty. Would be giving him the second half of the season on loan in the Championship in England to see how he handles that level, as he tore up League One. He’s not had a chance this season purely because the midfield has been so good. There’s no shame in that though, Andy King had played in a Euros and had an EPL winners medal and couldn’t shift the midfield lads despite the manager saying he was a pleasure to have around.

15 Jan 2020 09:08:16
Barisic been told he's not being sold at any price this January (by the club) according to reports. I think everyone needs to keep calm regarding what we read online and in the papers about players values and possible transfers.

1.) 15 Jan 2020 10:21:39
Got to agree, too many fans jumping the gun at what the likes of the DR say, which is normally a lot of Colin Nish, I now have gotten to the point that I take note, but don’t believe it until it comes from Ibrox.

2.) 15 Jan 2020 12:35:22
you don't think that many of the reports on our players are false and they are only trying to upset our status quo? do you? or is that me being paranoid?

3.) 15 Jan 2020 13:44:29
it’s justifiable paranoia!

and for what it’s worth brian, I agree as the hack press in this country are by and large toxic

i’ll be astonished if borna buff kamara or any of our key assets leave in this window as gerrard knows the value of winning this title and we also have euros in summer where we have a few players on the big stage

i do accept every player does have his price but i don’t see it happening this window certainly not at the figures i’ve heard.

4.) 15 Jan 2020 13:51:52
For me everone has a price. But get the absolute maximum £s for them, celtic always do!

5.) 15 Jan 2020 18:26:02
Our business model requires us to sign, develop and sell players at the right time at a significant profit. This month is not the right time.

6.) 15 Jan 2020 19:35:11
Jason I totally agree with that. Every player in the world has their price. For example if a bid of 40 million was to come in for morelos, iregardless of what king and Gerrard said, there is no way we could turn that down. That's maybe 6 starters we could buy for that. Every one of our team has the price. Like all fans I want our core to remain this month maybe even add a player or 2 that would make us better but if crazy money comes our player would be sold.

7.) 15 Jan 2020 22:19:06
I rarely if ever disagree with you Mr Grumpy and once again, you’re bang on the money.

02 Jan 2020 17:20:42
think it has been mentioned on here before. Tyrese Campbell, a young lad from stoke. On a similar deal to the one for Aribo. He's a striker.

1.) 02 Jan 2020 19:37:30
The gremlins want him aswell.

2.) 03 Jan 2020 19:43:10
He will go to the mhanks if anywhere, his dad has previous with Stevie G.

02 Dec 2019 13:54:48
The rangers women's football team sponsor is DCP Capital (a Chinese private equity firm) have theyAny connection to what's happening with the club in the future?

1.) 02 Dec 2019 14:04:20
There ceo is Julian wolthardt.

2.) 02 Dec 2019 17:08:57
Looks that way mrgrumpy👍.

3.) 02 Dec 2019 21:04:42
Good investigation work mr grumpy 👍😄.

4.) 02 Dec 2019 21:55:06
By way of a wee introduction from Julian Wolhardt, who may play a more prominent role on our board in the near future.

5.) 02 Dec 2019 22:27:37
Very true daisy yore. I don't think there's any doubt whatsoever, that julian wolhardt is going to be very prominent within our boardroom and new investment that's coming our way. He's a terrific businessman with very good accomplished investors in tow with him.

6.) 03 Dec 2019 08:16:47
Thanks bluebellandy 😁 so will DCP Capital be our future shirt sponsors?

Rangers are in line to get£11.4m TV revenue after celtic got knocked out last night.

1.) 28 Feb 2020 08:19:43
Think it's a share of that sum, instead of half a share. So basically that sum gets divided between the nations left which then gets divided between the clubs representing said nations. So for example, if scotlands share was £1m we would have got £500k but will ow get the full £1m.

2.) 28 Feb 2020 08:30:39
Don't think we get the whole £11.4 Mr grumpy-great if we did! We get a share but we won't have to split it with the other mob as they're out! Ha ha! 😂.

3.) 28 Feb 2020 08:35:52
Yes 11.4 million shared between the last 16 remaining teams in the competition.

4.) 28 Feb 2020 08:49:59
Is it not about 16 million divided equally between the remaining 16 teams.

5.) 28 Feb 2020 09:22:51
The tv money is divided equally by nations in last 16 not teams.
Ie England three teams one share
Italy two teams one share
Germany two teams one share
Spain two teams one share
Turkey one team one share
Scotland one team one share.
So you can see rangers and Turkish team get one share which is equal to sum divided between three English teams.
So Celtic going out doubles our money another bonus.

6.) 28 Feb 2020 11:53:32
Didn't see the bit about 'pool of TV money' 😁.

7.) 28 Feb 2020 15:46:08
Eleven countries through to last sixteen so approximately one million per country tv money for this round. So gers get slightly over one million.

26 Feb 2020 21:57:58
First Scottish club to win both legs of a knockout round in Europe (excluding the preliminary rounds) since 2002.

1.) 26 Feb 2020 23:27:42
Mr grumpy, we are breaking lots of records of late, yet some people still don't agree with gerrard as our manager, why.

2.) 27 Feb 2020 07:51:10
Because we are inconsistent in our own league that's why.
If we played like that against the teams in Scotland we would blow trans away. No doubt SG knows how to win in Europe.

3.) 27 Feb 2020 09:22:27
results like last night are why some are willing to give SG another season AS1974.

4.) 27 Feb 2020 10:13:02
Why? Because we can't perform consistently domestically.

5.) 27 Feb 2020 11:41:05
As1974,we. Do well in europe because teams play a game of football against us, euro teams play us with no fear, scottish clubs sit in& play on the break.

26 Feb 2020 18:56:57
Great result tonight. Pleased for Kent as well.

16 Feb 2020 08:55:42
Has anyone read the interview of Craig Whyte on the BBC website? They certainly gave him a tough time with real hard hitting questions 🤔.

1.) 16 Feb 2020 10:01:50
Yes mrgrumpy, I read it. I've also ordered his book Into the Bear Pit. Before anyone shouts obscenities, I'm interested in reading his side of the story as he says Murray was not honest with him at the time of the purchase. I still think Whyte has a lot to answer for in the way he dealt with this business but it is always worth hearing all sides of the story.

2.) 16 Feb 2020 10:45:41
I'm frightened the telly would end up in the front garden tbh.

3.) 16 Feb 2020 11:13:56
Doiger, I will always judge that Murray is more to blame than anyone for what happened to our club but I don't see how Whyte's book will shed any light on anything. The man is a proven liar.

4.) 16 Feb 2020 11:54:31
Doiger can’t believe anyone on this site would actually give the “person” a penny after whatever part he played in almost destroy our club!

I appreciate you want to hear both sides of the story, but surely you could have gotten a copy off a Celtic supporter or through the public library!

5.) 16 Feb 2020 15:01:42
Doiger, i'm disappointed you would buy or give whyte another penny mate, him and and the rest of his chums are asset strippers pal, they do that for a living .

26 Jan 2020 20:20:54
Jermaine Defoe, 28 games, 15 goals this season.

1.) 26 Jan 2020 20:29:12
And what?

2.) 26 Jan 2020 20:58:16
He’s a yard too slow now anyone can see that. There must be a young hungry talented striker out there somewhere.

3.) 26 Jan 2020 21:14:35
My point being he's a good player/ striker. He was one of many how had a poor game today.

4.) 26 Jan 2020 22:02:39
Once they sign new contracts I feel they think they can relax an no just Defoe.

5.) 26 Jan 2020 22:07:17
He can't play our system mate close to how Alfie does, he doesn't have the legs for it. Last 3 games have proved how much we need another option up there.

6.) 27 Jan 2020 03:08:17
Playing with 10 men in games like that with Defoe, quality player still in the right sort of game but not physical or able to involve himself in the play as much as we need.

That's just your opinion though 6counties. Am pretty sure the club values Morelos at more than that. And if no-one matches the club's valuation, he stays. (which I'd be delighted with)

It's always nice to see new signings. Hagi? Great name, looks a good prospect. Kamberi? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Kamberi was spent, he put in a proper shift. Ojo was actually contributing when he came on.
