Davie weir won’t leave Brighton, his family’s settled down south and he’s got a cooshty number where he is. Not many better clubs to be around in Europe than Brighton atm.
I think if we could get him it would been done long ago.
Same with mitchel, he’s a Manchester born lad, he’s just recently bought a new house in Manchester and has been seen scouting players in recent weeks that are more likely Man Utd’s calibre than rangers.
He’s going to be involved high up at Utd come January.
With John saying we’re going to be disappointed it doesn’t mean it’s a bad appointment, simply means that it’s not a big name or an attractive club he’s coming from?
More likely underwhelming, but so what. If the board who identified and delivered clement say the guys the man for the job then I’m confident in the outcome.

I can`t see Weir moving and Mitchell seems out of our reach . Nerlinger has done the job in Germany and would have good contacts, and has played for us which would help but is not a deal breaker for me . The fact that John says that a lot of us will be unhappy makes it sound like a small time appointment either from within or another club in Scotland but would it have taken them this long if they were going that route.

definitely won't be robertson, might be jewell imo, but whoever it is already has taken the job, there has to be a reason why its takinng 2 weeks to name him apparently, , or her.
