It was good to see Tav getting another assist today that just reinforces the point I’ve made a few times about him winning us more points than he loses us. I still stand by my other point regarding team balance and personally I wouldn’t play him away In the harder games whereby we’re unlikely to control the game (Parkhead, Away Europe games etc. ) but I was glad to see him with the winning assist.

28 Oct 2019 06:25:00
So just play him in easy games? Naw.

28 Oct 2019 07:52:55
He hit a corner. Settle down.

28 Oct 2019 08:06:57
I remember years ago a similar scenario with a certain mr lorenzo amoruso. makin some amateur mistakes and the crowd on his back constantly. then came the Parma game in europe when his confidence looked shattered till the whole stadium got behind him screaming “ only one amoruso” to which nearly brought the big man to tears. ended up a legend with us. every player can’t be excellent every time. get behind tav n show him we got his back thru thick n thin. to me this is what being a supporter means. he's going thru a sticky patch but hasn’t became a bad player overnight.

28 Oct 2019 08:10:23
Defending the guy is a liability. Has been sine day of signing. Not like he played a great pass? He swung in a corner to which and half decent pro should be able to putnin that area. Unfortunately for tav he puts in 1 good cross every 20.

28 Oct 2019 09:07:27
Sir katic you cannot have a captain that you drop for the more difficult and play when it’s not so difficult, that’s absurd pal. And as the wags man says, calm down he hit a corner!

28 Oct 2019 11:08:28
Paul86.

If ‘swinging a corner in’ is so easy, why do teams only really ever has one or two players at the most who will take them?

28 Oct 2019 11:19:24
😂😂😂 it’s obvious Tav can never win. Fair enough, people are entitled to their opinions, but to try and say ‘it’s just a corner’, seriously defies any logic. It was a great delivery and it was half the reason we secured an important 3 points, along with Helander putting his head on the end of it.

Yes he is had a total nightmare of a start this season, he missed the penalty yesterday but it was his play that won the penalty. Taking him off penalties I would probs agree with.

Gerrard was not too bad a captain himself and he must see traits in Tav that justify his selection as club captain.

How’s about getting behind him during this bad spell rather than turning your backs on him? Tim like behaviour.

28 Oct 2019 12:25:15
Here here bear mode. Confidence is shattered but he will come through it. We are the worlds worst for slating our own players.

28 Oct 2019 12:49:36
I love Tav, great player. Made a couple of mistakes that have cost goals, that can happen.
He should take himself off penalties and take unnecessary pressure off himself.
He run his guts out yesterday trying to lead by example.
Get behind the players, support is what gets you through.
Steven Gerrard knows what he is doing so if he picks Tav every week its because he is the best man for the job. If he needs rested he will know. Let's get right behind our Skipper.

28 Oct 2019 12:54:39
Bgate W. I wouldn’t play Tav in the tougher games where he is expected to defend, simply it’s not his game and with Tav in the team we’re exposed. Teams are no starting to explode this. As for dropping our captain then it’s a different question as to should he be our captain.

Regardless I was glad to see him hit the winning assist, corner or no corner he got the assist, fair play to him.

28 Oct 2019 16:55:51
Don’t play the captain in games too hard for him, I’ve heard it all now mate.

27 Oct 2019 22:04:24
So our manager has felt it necessary to ask our "fans" to get off Tavs back.
He says the moans and boos and criticism does not help.

Get behind the team.

28 Oct 2019 00:25:26
Have we to cheer a pen miss,?

28 Oct 2019 08:03:27
Supporting the team thatat can't be right dk19! That would be accepting mediocrity according to some on here. 👍.

28 Oct 2019 14:21:00
If he can't handle the heat maybe he should get out the kitchen. If we continue to accept his poor performances by avoiding accountability then that would accepting mediocrity. Again the captain buckled under the pressure. But we will put an arm around him and say there there. 👍.

27 Oct 2019 20:45:48
Tav was mince again today that cross was laughable. Am I the only one to notice that he almost cost us the game against Porto it was his hesitancy outside the box that allowed Porto the attack on goal that McGregor saved twice. Similar to the amateurish defending that cost us the game against Young Boys. Flanagan needs to be given a chance at right back. Aribo slows the attack down and can't tackle.

27 Oct 2019 22:18:35
And another penalty miss.

28 Oct 2019 09:08:20
sorry did i miss the misplaced Ryan Jack pass that cost us the goal against Porto. i agree he should be dropped for penalties for the moment to take the pressure off him until his confidence grows.

27 Oct 2019 19:23:22
Think someone needs to get that guy with the megaphone for the union bears a new one my head is thumping from the screeching and noises coming from it.

27 Oct 2019 19:13:53
At last stevie g contemplating taking tavernier off penalties! Give them to Alfredo or Defoe please.

27 Oct 2019 19:59:20
Stevie G needs to understand that this league is going to be tight and that he can't f**k about making 4 or 5 changes when he doesn't need to. crazy team selection today.

27 Oct 2019 20:30:59
Agreed stamford. play strongest team possible. Maybe 1 or 2 changes. Not 4.

27 Oct 2019 20:38:51
Don’t think is so much to do with Aribo playing as Jack not playing we miss jack every game he doesn’t play!

27 Oct 2019 20:55:59
Spot on Stamford Bear, I didn't see Lennon making similar changes, I get amused at the tiredness comments, Ryan Jack looked perfectly fit to me, although I don't work with the players every day though like SG. we should have had at least 2 penalties today with a possible third, but Tav does need taken away from set pieces, as he's failed too often recently. Well done though on a great 3 points, on to Dingwall now, which is never easy, but these are the games we must win.

27 Oct 2019 22:06:28
Fed up with his tinkering to be honest stamford👍.

28 Oct 2019 07:07:12
Horrible game to watch yesterday. didn't understand the team selection to be honest and I agree with all that's being said here. Aribo was sand dancing for most of the game and although he can be silky, he is not a strong tackling midfielder. Tav is most definitely off the boil and is not the player he was when Candias played. He needs that type of support and don't tell me ojo is the plan for a Candias replacement because he clearly is lost in the hussle and bussle of the Scottish game. 3 points in the bag and we march on, but too much team changes are going to lose us unessessary points. Give Polster a crack on the right with Tav and let's see what changes. Follow Follow folks. 🇬🇧.

28 Oct 2019 08:06:47
You are coldo? Am sure Dave and the board will tell SG your concerns. 👍.

28 Oct 2019 14:28:42
Ojo was a sub so don't see how he can get the blame for not covering Tav?
And when he did come on he made a couple of blocks. One on the right wing and one in the LB position. So criticism of not tracking back unfair yesterday in my opinion.

27 Oct 2019 18:47:45
Is there a more over-rated player to pull on a Rangers jersey than Aribo? I just don't get the fan fare.

27 Oct 2019 19:06:46
The best rangers players on the park today were steven davis, borna barisic and big helander. Felt sorry for defoe as he hadn't a lot of service and we hadn't one midfielder prepared to run beyond defoe all game. Arfield was superb at doing that last season, but seems a wee bit off it, so far this season. He's played non stop football all through the pre season and the guy needs a rest, as he's clearly running on empty.

27 Oct 2019 19:11:26
How many games has aribo played this season?

27 Oct 2019 19:27:50
Yes there has been heaps and heaps over the years. Aribo is a young lad who definitely has a bit of skill. just have to look at his goal v brazil for that. Think he's sitting a bit deep to play his normal game. Also the moans and groans from the crowd do not help a lot of folk cannot handle the pressure. But to answer your question yes there has been more over rated players than aribo.

27 Oct 2019 19:39:46
We are constantly being told he is this and will make us that. Well has shown absolutely nothing to substantiate that. Every time we play with him in the middle we struggle. He has been shocking!

27 Oct 2019 20:20:18
There was a dog of a player called Sebo, who managed to con the less intelligent into singing his name, try reading davie weirs book about sebo, overrated, no just a chancer who laughed in the dressing room as Rangers struggled,

27 Oct 2019 22:02:45
Very over rated👍.

27 Oct 2019 22:05:44
Totally agree c.

27 Oct 2019 22:02:54
Wouldn't give davie weir money after the way him and warburton snaked obout looking for a move away. Reputation tarnished.

27 Oct 2019 22:03:37
Sebo was never rated at all never mind over rated. The fans sang his name (and still do) purely for pi$$ take reasons lol.

28 Oct 2019 01:31:05
Still do? Not in my earshot, and they sang his name because he looked busy, fxxkin hopeless tho, and couldn’t care less about Rangers, probably a barman now.

28 Oct 2019 07:55:24
I used to gut myself laughing watching sebo. had all the effort in the world but just a shame he was absolutely hopeless.

28 Oct 2019 08:10:45
Who's telling you that aribo is this and will make us that? Is it the same folk who could see a player in barisic last season dispute his problems with form and fitness?

28 Oct 2019 09:33:13
No it was probably the same people who could see a player in Ovie Ejaria or Josh Windass. Tam, still to this day people shout Sebo when shots are hit out the park. I've heard it dozens of times to be honest!

27 Oct 2019 17:47:57
In many ways I’m happier tonight than I’ve been with other wins.
Not playing great but getting 3 points after going a goal down is satisfying. Yes there were some issues that need addressed but overall a good gritty win over a decent side.

27 Oct 2019 19:32:23
Agree 87shenderson, always good to pick up 3 points without playing well. Quality of Barasis and Helander evident which is good. When Jack and Kamara absent think we look weaker in midfield. We need to get off Tav’s back although sensible to relieve him of penalty kick duty at least for a short while.

27 Oct 2019 20:33:59
agreed 87

that’s a huge 3pts today we were not even close to our best, went a goal down, missed a pen and mwell wasting time at every chance and battering lumps out our players

but we still won.

27 Oct 2019 22:01:33
Its relief hendo👍.

27 Oct 2019 22:08:45
These are the type of games where we lost out last season. This year we are grinding out results as a team and fighting for each other.

Onwards.

27 Oct 2019 18:03:24
And heres me thinking Motherwell have been converted into a football team. Dallas thought he was reffing a game of volley ball. Better to have one of the Sergeants form the riot squad reffing and a couple trauma doctors running the line.

27 Oct 2019 17:08:33
We let Tav take a pen and a dangerous free kick. He is going to cost big time. Aribo, Ojo Airfield and Stewart. Very poor. We have no legs in MF and that's a huge worry!
We rely too much on our strikers. Hellender and barasic were fantastic. Motherwell got what they deserve. Nothing! Fouling and time wasting!
Dallas is a joke of a referee.

27 Oct 2019 18:04:12
Couldn't disagree with that As1974. I thought aribo looked lost, wasn't surprised that tav missed and who would go and watch motherwell. Ground out the result which is positive, I thought it was a strange team selection again from the tinkerman. 👍.

27 Oct 2019 17:38:26
Barker and stewart in the front 3. doesn't exactly get the fans going. jamie murphy be better in there. surely no its time fir someone else to take the penalties. as tav is lackin serious confidence at the moment. aribo off the pace. and from midweek on if ryan jack is fit he must play its as simple as that. Got told last week jones would be a bit part player. Cannot tell me he isn't going to pose more of a threat that barker and stewart. cmon.

27 Oct 2019 17:40:17
Ojo was very poor. Guy had 25 mins, give it a rest. I know he hasn't set the heather a blaze but that's just putting him down for putting him downs sake. Agree Arfield was poor today, and aribo wasnt outstanding but thought Stewart played not bad. Going to get games like this throughout the season, it's how we deal with it and dig out results. Nothing is a given and we need to start facing up to that fact.

27 Oct 2019 18:31:03
I actually thought big ojo looked better today when he came on 🤷‍♂️ don't know how folk can abuse him for 20 mins. Big big 3 points today and we move on! Last point, definitely time for tav to come off penalty duty, he's had enough misses now.

27 Oct 2019 22:00:19
thought Ojo was ok, arfield posted missing. wasnt making run into the box from midfield when we were getting forward and not getting second balls either. Motherwell, supposedly a better team now. not from where i was looking, bruising and time wasting until we went in front. pleased at the result, tough one to grind out but not pleased on the performance. Tav needs to stop with the penalties and free kicks, take a bit of pressure off himself until he has the confidence back.

27 Oct 2019 17:08:06
Kent although he wasn't up to much in front today does have that speed to drive back the defense and open up space for Barisic to cross. There was a bit of chemistry there that Barasic hasn't had with Jones or Ojo on that side.

Davis definitely man of the match. Played on a bad foot for the last 30 and still completed some smashing through balls.

Ojo on the three on one man. You've got to be ruthless there. He was still thinking about what to do when he lost it. Either pass or shoot. Make your mind up and go hard!

27 Oct 2019 18:05:07
Kent never stopped, couple of misplaced passes but when he is 100% again he will be huge for us, ran them all afternoon. As for ojo and that chance, let's be honest we all knew he would make a mess of it. 👍.

27 Oct 2019 19:14:35
I thought Barisic was our best playwr.

27 Oct 2019 19:52:13
100% john, rolls Royce of a full back 👍.

27 Oct 2019 17:03:17
Don't think my heart can take watching us this season. That was a slog, but got there in the end.

27 Oct 2019 16:56:51
C'Mon referee! Calling back a four on one break to hand out a yellow. Two Missed Hand Balls. Countless grabbing by Mugabi on Defoe.

First half was awful. Glad this one's over.

27 Oct 2019 18:33:23
2nd hand ball was never a pen, first one stick on pen, don't know how ref missed it👍 tav would have missed it anyway the way his luck is just now haha.

27 Oct 2019 15:58:44
I said last season when we were going through our period of not creating anything that arfield offers very little and it's been painfully evident again recently. I like the guy but he's got no pace and doesn't have a clever touch like Stewart. He doesn't look suited to a team that dominate possession, most of our play bypasses him.

27 Oct 2019 17:02:29
Arfield is inconsistent. He can take a hit and keep playing in tight. It's 50/ 50 for him getting it right but he does have a high work rate and he can see the game well, he just can't execute well. He'd be a squad player on a better team. Right now though his form is like he's exhausted. Too be fair he put in the same shift as Aribo who is almost half his age. Neither Aribo or Ojo have the patience? or Confidence? to hold a ball in traffic.

27 Oct 2019 19:30:36
Blue_north hahahahaha just how old do you think arfield is?

27 Oct 2019 20:17:55
Yep 23 is almost half of 30 right enough. I blame the schools myself.

27 Oct 2019 15:49:26
Why let Tavernier take penalty when he's obviously devoid of confidence? that's the chance we needed before half time and it's blown that's 3 he's missed this season
From what I hear in bits and pieces on radio were just not at it this inconsistency that killed season is creeping in how can we be so good away in Europe then be so lost at home 3 days later.

27 Oct 2019 16:00:21
I know Motherwell are packing their box, but far too many high balls into the box to our minnows. Yes Tav has missed another penalty, so he will be hunted by the posters of this page. Even Johnny Hubbard missed penalties.

27 Oct 2019 16:07:16
Mental weakness. Not enough Ian Ferguson types who will roll the sleeves up to get the job done domestically.

27 Oct 2019 18:00:31
Was that a high ball into the box from our captain that won the game for us?

27 Oct 2019 18:30:11
DK19 - that is what happens when we have some hieght in the box. Standby my previous regarding "minnows" in the box for crosses from open play.

27 Oct 2019 18:37:21
It was a corner dk when the big men were up 👍 posters got s point, we definitely put too many high bells in first half, especially with only Defoe to aim at, all around me were getting restless with first half performance. We stepped it up end half tho n got a big 3 points thsts all that matters today!

27 Oct 2019 18:43:36
If one or two good balls a game suits you thank Christ you’re not in charge.

27 Oct 2019 19:09:27
Correct Blue Blue Sea. We’re supposed to forgive the multiple times Tav can’t do the basics of his job properly because he managed one decent dead ball delivery. After missing a penalty and a free kick.

27 Oct 2019 15:47:20
Tav again. AGAIN. The people who keep defending him need to get a grip. The arrogance to still be hitting penalties after 2 missed already this season.

27 Oct 2019 16:06:33
He is our nominated spot taker and has scored 20 out of 24 penalties for us in last 3 years, get off his back!

27 Oct 2019 16:19:58
No. Because he is terrible. The worst Rangers captain in the top flight in my 30 odd years of watching us.

27 Oct 2019 17:18:05
We looked very slow again today right from the kick off. I don't really want to mention those across the city, but they attacked the sheep at speed, and were rewarded for it. Far too many passes around the box, I'm sat here sceaming SHOOT! I know we played Thursday night but we looked very leggy. If we could just have more driving runs from midfield instead of sideways passes it would help. Another three points though, we must keep the pressure on them, they will slip up when least expected.

27 Oct 2019 17:29:15
Ed - Theswagman is a very unhappy supporter of Tav and wants him transferred. It didn't take him long to get on today. Can we give him a free transfer to another fan site?

27 Oct 2019 18:39:22
Should be off pens now tbf. Very lucky it didn't cost us points today most around around me wanted defoe on the pen 👍.

27 Oct 2019 19:10:46
Sorry Blue Toon, am I not allowed an opinion? I got on him because he missed a penalty, which he has done twice already this season, along with the many goals his pathetic attempts at defending have cost us.

28 Oct 2019 05:44:50
Theswagman - no problem with having an opinion about a player, but be realistic. As I have posted previously from the beginning of September Tav has been culpable for 3 goals, not many as you say. So far today you have posted a few times berating Tav.

27 Oct 2019 15:39:28
Ffs, better get our finger out.

27 Oct 2019 18:01:23
Finger is out!

27 Oct 2019 15:34:26
Never F!? ing fails.

27 Oct 2019 14:11:08
5-0 we go top lol.

27 Oct 2019 15:36:35
Unfortunately we are 1 nil down.

27 Oct 2019 13:08:13
I think 5 mil for kamara, 20 for Alfie and 5 for Tav, next window. Think about who could be brought in with that cash or how it could be invested in the club. Also glad to see the sheep bein pumped and how lucky we were to dodge the McInnes bullet.

27 Oct 2019 13:19:33
I'd rather see Celtic being pumped to be honest, considering it's Celtic who are pumping Aberdeen it's hardly the result we should be wanting just cause Aberdeen are getting beat.

27 Oct 2019 13:31:44
Thank god we dodged macinnes. What were board thinking offering him a job the size of our club.

27 Oct 2019 13:49:16
Why would any Rangers supporter want Celtic to win. Unless it benefited us, What a 🤡. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺👍.

27 Oct 2019 14:36:43
The next window? If we sell morelos next window we ha e absolutely zero chance of winning the leage.

27 Oct 2019 14:48:20
Next window? Why not just give that mob the title just now. Dumplin . Also, can’t stand Aberdeen but would rather Celtic dropped points. Surely that post is a joke?

27 Oct 2019 16:22:18
Would flog Tav and Kamara no problem but not Morelos. Also think £5m for each is selling ourselves short, even though I think Tav is woeful. Full backs who can’t defend go for a fortune down south.

27 Oct 2019 16:34:07
So we sell morelos for £20m. Who do you buy to replace the goals? I've never seen supporters so desperate to get rid of the top performers rather than keep them.

27 Oct 2019 18:02:39
So in one breath you say Tav is useless but then suggest that we should sell him for £5m+?

Mmmm, not sure that computes.

27 Oct 2019 18:40:50
John stones went for 50m and he's hopeless haha.

27 Oct 2019 19:12:13
DK19 - if you read the full sentence, it absolutely computes. Absolute garbage goes for tens of millions in England, so it’s all relative. If someone wanted to buy your old banger used car for £50,000, would you tell them it was only worth 50 quid?

Review Of The Day 27th October 2019

27 Oct 2019 07:39:01
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 27th October 2019

27 Oct 2019 14:28:33
Wishing tic win is downright stupid. Sheep winning, even tho it is sheep, and us gubbing Well would have been perfect Sunday. Got to say, tic scoring 4 in first half, then 0 in second, smells sheep either lying down or taking whole half to get act together. We dodged a bullet with McInnes.

27 Oct 2019 16:13:41
Maybe payback for the second spot fiasco Millerb.
