I've been in Germany for the last 6 months until last 2 weeks. Its a lot safer than UK, proper measures in place to test and trace, professional cleaning of areas and challenge rate under half as much as UK. The players are at more risk in Glasgow for sure.

I am probably going to upset a lot of people here and I apologise fir that however this is just how I feel on the Morelos thing. When Jim Baxter left I was devastated, Gazza, Laudrup, Albertz, Barry Ferguson, McCoist, Durrant, truly upset, Amoruso, Stein, Willie Johnson heavy sighs. Morelos? Couldn't give a flying ++++ he has let us down too many times both with his dis ipline and his inability in 12 attempts to slot one past the mankies. We need players we can depend on and trust he is not that sort of guy. If he doesn't love the jersey and the Brox, good riddance!

Every Rangers player who ever played has been replaced. Some are genuine losses for a period but it is never that long. We will always move on . Club is bigger than every player and Moreles will be replaced if he leaves.

While he is a Rangers player he gets my support. I believe we will see in a few years what we had.

Just read that Peterborough have received a bid from a scottish team for ivan toney. Obviously either us or them. Now maybe over thinking this but they have 3 strikers and have just or are just about to sign another from west ham so going by that logic the bid would be from the famous. Hope so anyway the lad would score for fun up here plus the added bonus of we would be getting one over them.

Christensen a think the difference with dykes and Boyd, rangers are in a lot of pressure to stop they persons winning 10 and dykes doesn’t look as much as a natural finisher to what Boyd was, everyone knew if Boyd got 3 decent chances he would score them am not so sure about dykes but a would love him to prove everyone wrong.

It’s not about whether players are ‘any good or not’. It’s whether they are the right fit for the style of play we have. As I’ve said before Dykes will do ok for certain teams who play very direct and throw long balls up for him to chase and especially against teams who don’t sit in and allow him space to play in. He would in no way work playing in our front 3 where all of the play is against tightly packed defences and we play with the ball on the deck and look to break them down with tight quick movement.
Using Boyd as an example, he worked for us at a certain time when we played in a certain way which allowed him to stand in the box and poach, and he was very good at that. But I think we’d all admit he wasn’t a good ‘footballer’. Do you think Boyd would work well in our current team with the formation and style we play? No because he’d never be able to link up with the likes of Kent and Hagi the way we’d need him too.
And that’s the problem with Dykes. He doesn’t in any way fit into or know how to play the style of football Gerrard plays and Gerrard isn’t going to change that style.

The type of forward rangers need is an Edourad. That guy is a brilliant striker who will only get better. Rangers need to scour all the top clubs and try and get a guy like that. It won't be cheap but it could work out in the long run. I know I will get slated for this but look how celtic do business that's what rangers need to do to start to catch up on celtic.

Hypothetical Question Bears.

If Lyle Taylor and Daniel Sturridge both signed on freedom of contracts whilst the club banked the majority of the Morelos sale, 1) would these excite the fans? 2) is this the quality we need to blast our way to the league title?

Rangers will sign another Midfielder I think and possibly a winger on loan.

Dykes being branded about by fans but he ain't good enough. We've risked this sort of move on the past with Templeton, Jones, Laff coming back, O'hallorran and now fans want Dkyes? We need EPL or championship level players from England or from a good setup abroad to take the club forward.

Kamberi isn't the answer either.

I wasn't Morelos biggest fan and think we'll sign a slicky, tall and pacy kind of fwd and the link I like the most is Josh Maja, we'll see.

Morelos is slow has poor link up play and is very one dimensional thus why him moving on will provide us with the best attack we've seen in years.

SGL, we hadn't seen Morelos play week in week out before we signed him. We've seen Dykes and we know what he has and hasn't got. The hasn'ts win. McCoist, Rae, McCann, Dodds? Like so many other good players they don't make good scouts or judges - or managers, for that matter. Maybe thinking that the likes of Dykes could be a Rangers player is the reason why they fail in the manager's chair.

SGL are you his agent? i am really tired listening to all this. 1 says Morelos is slow and one dimensional and the other says Dykes is the answer. Dykes does not suit our style of play and it won't be changed or certainly not enough to try the likes of Dykes on a permanent basis, we went with Laf and that's exactly what it was a laugh. We wouldn't get space in behind to play a long ball, we need to get better at playing through the wall and the answer to that is better midfielders not big no users in the box. one that can take a ball to feet and turn quickly is what we need.

We should not be signing the like of Dykes. Having said that, I've always said that Shankland would be worth a punt. He is a goalscorer and a different type of player. We MUST keep Morelos if we are going to win the league but I accept he might be gone very soon. Problem is gone are the days when we could sign big names like Butcher, De Boer, Laudrup and Gazza, so I guess we'll have to settle for who we can get.

As good as our previous season had been, you could see us huffing and puffing a wee bit At times against an organised Coventry side that were 9 days into pre season. I personally think we need a dykes type player because that gives us the option to change style, an option that from day 1 until now Gerrard has never had.

Got a mate that works at ibrox who i was having a catch up with. Whilst he didn't go into a lot of detail he said the main striker we are looking at is a youngster that played in the bottom half of the championship in england. Sounds like Karlan Grant.
He also said that Morelos fee more likely to be about 10m, 20m is way off the mark.

Firstly, although i don't dismiss any rumours fellow bears share on here, i'd be totally gobsmacked, if rangers sold alfredo morelos for as small a fee as £10million! I think both wilson and gerrard will be very strict on the fee morelos will be allowed to go for, if he goes. I reckon £15million + add ons would get morelos! On you're point about huddersfield town striker karlan grant i hope to god your mate's right jacko Hagi 🙏 He's even better than ivan toney as far as i'm concerned and would be a very good signing for us, but most definitely won't come cheap!

Hi folks, for all of those still talking about Dykes I hate to tell you this but I seriously doubt we have any interest in him at all and here’s some of the reasons why I say this.
1) He doesn’t fit into Gerrards style of play at all. Dykes currently plays for a team that plays very direct ‘up and at em’ style of football, in fact he’s always played in that manner. Getting on the end of long balls and trying to bully defenders. Which can work at times against teams that set out to attack and can leave gaps at the back (ie us and Celtic) it won’t work as well against packed defences (what we face most weeks) . In fact he’s most successful when Livi play at home as he takes advantage of the fact he’s used to playing on their crappy plastic pitch. He’s not as productive when they play away.
2) Gerrard is trying to create a way of playing where the front 3 are very fluid and interchange a lot, creating gaps and pulling opposition defences about (a lot like Liverpool) . Dykes isn’t that kind of player, he’s not good enough with the ball at his feet (plus we’ve tried with a big ‘target man’ in the middle before in Lafferty, a player who before coming to us was tearing it up with Hearts, but he couldn’t fit into our style of play and looked useless. It’d be the same with Dykes)
3) if we really did want him we could of gone out and got him by now, why would we still be waiting with less than a week till the season starts?
4) What will actually happen is fairly straight forward. Gerrard has stated numerous times he only wants to bring in players that are of starting 11 standard. They though cost money. We won’t have that money until Morelos is sold. I reckon we have at least a couple of players we are ready to move for (maybe people who have been mentioned like Roofe or Maja, or maybe others we don’t even know about) . But these players won’t be cheap and we’ll use the money from selling Morelos to bring them in. That’s why we haven’t seen a forward being brought in yet. No point in spending money on the likes of Dykes or Kamberi when they don’t improve or at least match what we already have. I for one would rather have a little patience and bring in the right players who will actually make a difference.

Lafferty did play coming off the left but also played at times through the middle, especially when he came off the bench (which he did often) Either way he wasn’t very good.
That also backs up my point. You may think we ‘need a different option’ Many folk may think the same. However clearly Gerrard doesn’t. Any time we did bring Lafferty on we ended up panicking and lumping long balls to him, our whole style of play went to pot. Gerrard and his coaching team have spent the last two years trying to instil a style of play into the team. He’s not going to go out and bring in a big lump of a forward that will require us to completely alter the style the players are now used to playing.
I mentioned the fact he wants to play a similar style to the likes of Liverpool (hardly surprising) or even Man City and the likes with a fluid interchanging front 3. You don’t find them suddenly throwing on a big target man as a ‘different option’.
Some supporters may feel that’s a way to go, I however don’t think that’s what Gerrard thinks.

SGL, I know you have a thing for Dykes but I hate to tell you Gerrard doesn’t. It’s pretty clear he isn’t looking for that kind of forward. In the two years he’s been here he’s had Lafferty and Kamberi in the squad. The only two over 6 foot forwards he’s brought in. Neither really played and quite often played out wide rather than through the middle. Gerrard doesn’t want to play with a 6 foot plus ‘battering ram’ of a centre forward for all the reasons I’ve stated. Simple as that.

DOIGER, kamberi is away mate. He's over in Switzerland finalising a move to st. gallen i'm led to believe. Can't say i'm one bit fussed as i honestly don't think he's the answer, as we need much better than him! He done ok for us, nothing more,
nothing less. I wouldn't be so sure just yet, that alfredo is going to lille. Lille have made a much improved 2nd offer for gent striker jonathan david as he's always been their no.1 choice. According to the lille president, jonathan david wants to go to lille and nowhere else. He's a class striker into the bargain. I think lille are keeping their options open and may only try and sign morelos, if they can't get david, but it now looks like they will sign david 🤔.
