What do people keep mentioning Shankland! . I am actually sick of reading that on these pages man.

30 Jan 2020 23:03:54
No a fan?

30 Jan 2020 23:14:57
Ditto mate not going to happen wish people would shut up about it.

31 Jan 2020 07:49:32
Every page Shankland gets mentioned. If we were going to sign him it would have been before heading to Utd. If they want a reported 2m, 1. We won't pay it and 2. We don't have it. People need to move on. Honestly.

31 Jan 2020 09:36:14
Shankland was a stick on at Ayr utd price. Missed the boat there. No bargain now.
And Dykes for me but Kamberi will be signed.

31 Jan 2020 11:36:57
SHANKLANDSHANKLANDSHANKLAND.

31 Jan 2020 13:28:14
Theswagman, is there not four brothers mate, youve only mentioned three of them lol.

30 Jan 2020 22:16:23
See genk just sold another midfielder to Sheffield utd for 22m . Maybe that the player that's been keeping hagi out the team. Hope it doesn't affect our move for him.

30 Jan 2020 21:09:35
Kamberi could be interesting. Always felt he was talented but didn't deliver often enough. At 6ft 4 although not your typical target man could he be played on the right of a 3 up front just thinking Barisic crossing skills would make him a danger coming in on crosses, thoughts?

He is one who will split fans and is a risk but a loan with option to buy for a guy who won't be on big wages and knows scottish game seems a risk worth taking to me.

30 Jan 2020 21:57:41
Lyndon Dykes all day.

30 Jan 2020 22:04:03
If we sign Kamberi it’s either a master stroke or a Kyle Lafferty second time round.

30 Jan 2020 22:22:44
Never realised he was as big as 6'4? definitely seems good business to me if we get him on loan.
Also surprised Jones going out on loan after losing Murphy and Barker ojo etc not fitting in I think we're light in wide options.

30 Jan 2020 22:29:32
Come on why do people persist with Lyndon Dykes as being an option. I would be shocked as Gerrard doesn’t seem to want a target man. Dykes has been a Handful for both us and them but I don’t see him being the same player playing for us and doesn’t play up our strengths.
I’d take Kamberi over him as he has an arrogance that might just work in our team.

30 Jan 2020 22:58:19
Arrogance is all fine and well but it’s skill and ability that’s needed and I’m not sure he has that in abundance.

30 Jan 2020 23:06:19
He’s 6ft4 in high heels maybe. no danger he’s that height. He’s about 6ft1.

30 Jan 2020 23:20:08
I’d go with Dykes over Kamberi every time, Dykes has much more potential and scope for development. If that’s the market we are in then hopefully we get it done. Barker could be a late addition to the Kamberi deal with both being loans and it’s making him more likely.

31 Jan 2020 00:28:59
We put a lot of crosses in, think dykes would bang a few in.

31 Jan 2020 01:04:08
Kamberi is much better than Dykes. He just doesn’t show it often enough. If we can get him playing it’s a great signing.

31 Jan 2020 05:59:35
Jzer, jordan jones is more than likely going out on loan because he's not the answer for rangers and as i did say prior to us signing him. We shouldn't have signed him IMO anyway, simple as that mate! He will b sold permanently in the summer, i've got no doubt about that.

31 Jan 2020 06:44:21
Blue89, Kamberi is 6 foot 4 inchs tall, without any footwear on.

31 Jan 2020 08:37:49
Apparently he is desperate to come to us. He's a good player and hates Lennon. A good combination.

31 Jan 2020 08:50:31
SGL, I feel that JJ will be a permanent move, he doesn't tick any boxes for SG, and, if I'm honest, I don't think his attitude has been what we had expected, I'm disappointed with him TBH, for what was a supposed dream move for him, he hasn't shown it. Of the two strikers Kamberi and Dykes, I think Kamberi will suit SG's style of play better, but either would please me.

30 Jan 2020 19:45:38
Rangers are closing in on the signing of Hagi, according to a recent report from Belgian media outlet HLN.
Thoughts
Also saw we are looking into kamberi from hibs on loan until end of season. Wouldn't be the worst 3rd choice striker.

30 Jan 2020 20:09:21
I do like kamber.

30 Jan 2020 19:56:03
Kamberi from Hibs option to buy loan.

30 Jan 2020 19:33:24
Barisic signs extended deal, 2024.

30 Jan 2020 19:57:05
Good news, fits nicely into our buy/ develop/ sell model.

30 Jan 2020 20:02:44
Absolute superb news that borna barisic has committed his future to rangers.

30 Jan 2020 20:33:21
Got a feelin borna will be away in the summer. Atleast bow this will ensure we get top dollar for him.

30 Jan 2020 19:18:35
Asa backup to defoe I'm not unhappy if we sign kamberi on loan.
He's quick direct and can score a goal so think a decent option.

30 Jan 2020 19:54:36
Onewaltersmith I'm not sure about him, but a few months ago I was told by a member of staff (not Scottish! ) that the chief scout 'liked' Kamberi and could see him in a blue jersey! Gave it no more thought at all - until today.

30 Jan 2020 18:50:59
Sky sports reporting we have made an enquiry regarding a loan deal for kamberi. Definitely not one I'd see happening.

30 Jan 2020 22:32:08
If we get Kamberi on loan to the end of the season, that's good, but we won't be able to play him next Wednesday, and wwe may need him, just a thought guys.

30 Jan 2020 18:48:46
Just read trying to get kamberi from hivs on loan.

30 Jan 2020 19:13:42
I saw it myself mate on ssn and the sun online regarding rangers have made an enquiry for hibs striker florin kamberi.

30 Jan 2020 19:14:26
Can’t see hubs wanting to loan him out

If going to let him go surely they would want cash and perm move

Not sure about him to be honest

What’s everybody’s thoughts on him if he did come?

30 Jan 2020 19:27:07
We have assets that can go the other way on loan that they might want. Barker and Docherty.

30 Jan 2020 19:27:25
Hes decent, maybe doc on loan could sweeten the deal. Let's face it he's a back up, but believe he will still be a decent option.

30 Jan 2020 19:36:03
He's not a bad player but he's not that prolific for a striker.

30 Jan 2020 19:44:01
Is it not maybe loan with option to buy?

30 Jan 2020 19:46:40
Maybe swap with docherty or something like that?

30 Jan 2020 20:05:27
Your spot on Theswagman. It is a loan deal with the option to buy at the end of the season, that we've put to hibs, regarding florin kamberi.

30 Jan 2020 18:47:19
So Mr Ross Wilson good effort with Hagi on loan, so what about a striker now!
Possibilities before window closure
Shankland no
Lyons no
Nissie probably no
Miller please no
So who?

30 Jan 2020 19:13:37
Kamberi by looks of it👀.

30 Jan 2020 17:35:13
Daniel Sturridge? Danny Wellbeck? Abel Hernandez? Old rumours but hmmm.

30 Jan 2020 18:48:44
Florian kamberi thd latest linked.

30 Jan 2020 16:54:00
So looking like rumours are true hagi flying in today and could be set to sign on loan

If he's Half a s good as his father, wow!

Add a new striker and I'll be very happy

Don't know much about Ianis

Anybody watched him play real time?

30 Jan 2020 18:07:45
This young man seems a real talent, if he's anything like his father then he'll do for me.

30 Jan 2020 18:48:43
It's being reported that we are showing an interest in kamberi from hibs not sure how I feel about him to be honest.

30 Jan 2020 19:16:09
No sure about kamberi

Don’t know why hubs would want too loan him out

Surely I’d anything would be a perm move

Don’t really know much about him only watched him couple of times not sure I think he’s Rangers class
Am I wrong?

30 Jan 2020 19:45:11
He's very good when he's on his game but that's about 1 game in 3.

30 Jan 2020 15:09:21
some medical expert at Ibrox needs to get to the bottom of all these calf injuries. We now have 4 players out since Dubai with the same or similar injures to each other. I reckon it has to be more than coincidence.

30 Jan 2020 17:59:19
agreed ritchie

players all look jaded as opposed to fresh after winter break and raring to go

i spoke to father of 1 of youngsters who was in dubai part of squad he said that they worked like hell for 6 days solid

maybe that’s why we now have few injuries, sketchy performances as players may actually be cream crackered

just speculation on my part but seems feasible.

30 Jan 2020 19:51:35
Sounds like they all wanted a WEAKCALF.

31 jan 2020 08:56:16
boom, boom, buzz bomb, good humour.

30 Jan 2020 14:50:36
It looks like another midfielder coming in. Is it just me, or do we need another striker more urgently than another midfielder.

30 Jan 2020 14:26:24
With all the news today about Defoe's injury there's not been much said about his contribution last night. I thought his goal was typical of the strikes he has become famous for and the flick to Arfield for the second was nothing short of sublime. Hope he is not out for long as he has been brilliant for us.

31 Jan 2020 08:57:37
Defoe's skill created both goals last night, in my opinion, very clever player, will be missed.

30 Jan 2020 13:16:02
Got a text saying hagi from Genk til the end of the season - good player.

30 Jan 2020 13:25:31
Going by your normal posts is he our new accountant? 🤪🤣🤪.

30 Jan 2020 13:37:18
Yes he is a good player. We need two or three in, bit light due to injury iom.

30 Jan 2020 13:41:41
Would love to see it though i think unlikely only signed for them in the summer, smashing player though.

30 Jan 2020 13:52:38
If he's as half as good as his dad, then could be a good signing.

30 Jan 2020 14:00:32
Just heard the same. Loan with option to buy for £5m
Got goals in him.

30 Jan 2020 14:02:52
Just heard the same about young boy Hagi. Loan with option to buy for £5m
Boys got goals in him.

30 Jan 2020 14:22:30
Never seen him play but if he’s half as good as his auld da then it’s a no brainer.

30 Jan 2020 14:24:49
I stand corrected iom good shout, watched him v england 21s in the euros he ran the show.

30 Jan 2020 14:48:40
He was good at euros I seen a little bit of him, his dad was different gravy though.

30 Jan 2020 17:28:56
Not sure why the Belgians are open to such an alledged awesome talent leaving mid season!

30 Jan 2020 12:49:23
We could do a lot worse than Lyndon Dykes. Tall, physical, can take care if himself and score in what is a poor Livi team. As a back up for £300k maybe, it's worth a punt.

30 Jan 2020 14:49:47
I wouu hi kid take dykes as our optional striker right now, puts himself about and we need a big if that if Morelos our at any stage, Defoe can’t play every game and twice per week.

30 Jan 2020 16:53:13
Dunno what’s going on with my message above. basically I would be happy with dykes.

30 Jan 2020 12:01:29
Has anyone ever seriously thought about playing Tavernier in a RF position with Polster in Defence?

This kinda sorts the issues that Tav isn't the best defender and Polster is an improvement in that department but removes the pressure from the RB position to constantly be able to get forward and deliver crosses and attacking presence.

Id say Tav is better than anyone we have in the RW/ RF position based on crosses, assists etc so would anyone rule this out as our strongest team moving forward;

McGregor - GK
Polster - RB
Goldson - CB
Katic - CB
Barisic - LB
Davis - CM
Jack - CM
Kamara - CM
Tavernier - RW
Kent - LW
Morelos - ST

Anyone any ideas as to why Gerrard hasn't ever considered this and is making Aribo a makeshift RW to fill gaps in the team?

30 Jan 2020 12:26:16
Arfield man of match last night . Aribo snd Ojo played well . Davis well off the boil ., that’s one prob past four games.

30 Jan 2020 12:29:56
Tav basically plays there just now in this system. Our 2 'wide' players play as number 10's.

30 Jan 2020 12:49:33
I don’t know how many times I have to post this in here. Tav is our right back, end of. He won’t be moved to another position. If you actually look at the formation and tactics we play AND listen to what both Gerrard and now Michael Beale have stated about our tactics you’d understand why.
We do not play with wingers, therefore there is no right wing position to ‘push Tav’ into. We play with two inside forwards or as Michael Beale explained it, ‘two number tens’. Not a role that Tav would be suited to play at all.
Plus for all Polster was ok at right back he lacks pace and Tavs attacking abilities. It’s been so blatantly obvious how much we’ve missed Tav over the last few games breaking forward and supporting the attacks down the right. Yes Tav has had a few defensive issues however with the way we play the main role of our fullbacks is to push up and act as ’wingers’ when we break forward, at which point our defensive mids offer cover if the other team breaks forward. Unsurprisingly this is virtually the same way Liverpool set up (although their front 3 operate slightly differently) . Would you suggest that they should ‘move Alexander Arnold or Robertson further forward and play different / more defensive fullbacks? As actually neither of them are the strongest of defenders, their just in the fortunate position that they have immense center backs and players like Fabino in midfield covering them so they rarely lose goals even if they do get caught out defensively.

30 Jan 2020 12:50:27
Correct c bear the rf needs the ability to come inside and make it a narrow 3 and leave the space for the rb to create the width, have to say tho these last 4 games have shown how important tav is us to us.

30 Jan 2020 12:58:49
Davis struggling right now, yes.

30 Jan 2020 13:17:42
Don’t understand why folk don’t get this. Tav is effective going forward because he starts from the RB position. He has a run on their LB and their LB is also occupied with our RF. If Tav is pushed up to RF he has no starting run and is already marked, therefor making him ineffective.
I’m sure if it was a good idea the coaching team (who are all more experienced than anyone on here) would have done it by now.
How many other RB or LB have went on to be RF or LF. hardly any. If anything it’s the opposite. Wingers being moved back to be Wingbacks. Valencia, Young etc.
it’s not FIFA or football manager and it’ll never work like that.

30 Jan 2020 13:28:56
In that case Blue89, maybe we should sell Barisic, move Kent back to LB as he’s not doing it enough upfront and buy ourselves a new LW and RF for Coldo 👍.

30 Jan 2020 13:52:36
I agree with you now Blue89 although I did think Tav should have played up front for a while before your post.

And your right if it had been a good idea it would have been tried by now.

Cheers mate spot on.

30 Jan 2020 14:23:55
He won’t get moved for a RB to move up a position is difficult to adjust to, Patrice evra was a prime example can’t remember the club he went to after United.

30 Jan 2020 14:25:52
does anyone understand a suggestion is as good as a rest. liverpool did in a recent game.

30 Jan 2020 17:32:35
Badly need a RF 👍.

31 Jan 2020 09:00:44
Evra went to Juventus as a LB for them, and had a good spell there.

31 Jan 2020 14:15:42
Evra was a LB👍.

30 Jan 2020 11:44:24
How did Ojo play last night, hearing he made a positive impact?

30 Jan 2020 11:50:13
Aye he did well to be fair.

30 Jan 2020 11:55:55
Bankie better than usual but not the answer.

30 Jan 2020 12:59:07
He was not awful. And that's not good enough.

30 Jan 2020 16:44:02
He played okay in an decent, solid win.

30 Jan 2020 10:30:06
Since Hull seem to be interested in Jones why not swap/ take polish winger Grisicki been a standout in championship with Bowen who is in the same mould as Fredo?

30 Jan 2020 09:44:23
Hi lads. First game at Ibrox for a while, Christ I forgot how impressive that red brick is. Felt Rangers played like a different team in the second half. Getting the goals either side of the break relieved a lot of pressure. Was interesting to watch how the team interchanged with the subs. Aribo started rw with ojo through the mid, that worked as he was actually kicking Poster on up the line. Ojo kept coming toward him or releasing far to early for him in the first half. Then when Alf came on aribo dropped almost to left back and barisic stayed high. His ability to change and also his ability whilst in the position makes me think there is a real player in there. Really missed Jack and I hate to say it but thought Davis was not top speed, though even off form he's still good enough to control games like this one. Definitely need a striker. Think it'll be a Liverpool loan deal though. 3points all that matters. Big game against the sheep. We will follow on!

30 Jan 2020 09:27:08
And on the issue of new players, Kenny Miller or Jason Cummings could fill the gap for the rest of the season with injury to Defoe and probably more suspensions for Morelos! Looks like Shankland is staying at the Arabs.

30 Jan 2020 09:47:13
A few months ago I’d have said you were nuts, but kenny miller could be a shout. Next to no wages I’d imagine and he’d be an absolute last resort to use, but still ok (maybe? ) Whatever has happened in the past will no doubt mean it’s not going to happen however. I’m not saying he’s the answer, but for the very short term he’s better than nobody.

30 Jan 2020 10:09:29
The club would be an absolute laughing stock taking kenny miller back to be honest. No chance. Just left partick thistle.

30 Jan 2020 10:28:52
anyone who thinks miller are off there heads he wasnt good enough for thistle but aye we, ll take him 🤣.

30 Jan 2020 10:50:59
As much of a laughingstock as having one fit senior striker? I think not. There is one day left to get someone in. Our need was there before Defoe got injured. Now it’s critical. I also hope we have a better plan in place.

30 Jan 2020 11:12:56
Miller was good enough for Rangers and Celtic once, though I guess his age and the history at Ibrox when he left would count against it happening.

30 Jan 2020 11:56:19
We are definitely a striker short but doesn't mean we sign just anyone. Miller just left bloomin Partick! If that's the case and "get anyone in" is the tactic then do we just sign some random from Raith? Queen of the south? Berwick? Its the same thing.

30 Jan 2020 13:15:09
miller has been past it for years, but won't admit it to himself.

30 Jan 2020 13:46:57
How's it the same thing Snell? Bring someone in for free for an extremely limited time to cover a position that we badly need 2 of before tomorrow. As I've said, hopefully we can find better but my whole point was based on the fact we don't have much time to sign someone, and I can see that being the outcome. He's better than the current option of absolutely nobody. Certainly seems to be nobody coming through who is in first team plans. I reiterate. I hope for better.

30 Jan 2020 09:22:00
Maybe the last four games has been our 'bad patch' of the season. This happens to all teams and it will happen to the unwashed too before the season is out. We've been a bit unlucky with injuries and suspensions recently, though Morelos doesn't exactly help the cause. I still think SG will bring one or two players in before the deadline expires. Two massive home games coming up versus Aberdeen and Hibs. Win these and faith will be restored.

30 Jan 2020 10:18:53
Miller mentioned as a stop gap. Not going to happen. He'll never wear a rangers top in battle again I'm afraid. Anyway, we have quicker talent on the books!

30 Jan 2020 11:47:39
How does Morelos not help the cause?
We only lost one game when he was out to the bottom of the league team when the full side were crap!
Is it too much to expect the rest of the squad to step up?
So hypothetically speaking - if Morelos never gets sent off all season does he single handedly take all the plaudits and glory if we won the title?
No praise for a fine season for Jack? We forget about the brilliant team goal of Kent at the piggery?
No? I didn’t think so!

30 Jan 2020 13:57:31
Guys, if we can't beat Aberdeen and Hibs at home, quite frankly we don't deserve to win the league. For too long (in my opinion), we've shown far too much respect to the opposition, whilst they treat us like muck, get out on Saturday and next Wednesday, and put then firmly in their place. On the subject of a striker, I think Lyndon Dykes would be a good shout, a big no nonsense guy with a good goals ratio so far this season.

30 Jan 2020 07:45:52
I'm telling you Lyndon Dykes.

'He's tall, he's mean, he f. loves the Queen. Lyndon Dykes, Lyndon Dykes'

We need someone and with us giving Robbie to them he will be the surprise deal!

30 Jan 2020 11:09:05
Irock, you better no let the Stuck or Wagman here you saying that? Wait for it. What’s the Queen got to do with Rangers? 😢😢😢🇬🇧.

30 Jan 2020 11:28:44
I’m on the dykes love train aswell, great option, gets in about it, him and Alfie can alternate red cards so one is always playable hahaha.

30 Jan 2020 12:35:31
Patter about the Queen like that is fairly innocuous Yately, which just proves you don't understand the difference between what is offensive and unacceptable and what isn't. Personally I don't like the royal family and don't think it should exist in this day and age, I think the tugging of the forelock and being referred to as "subjects" is pathetic servile behaviour that belongs in the dark ages.

However, it's not hateful and offensive like Derry's Walls or other nonsense about Battles from 300 odd years ago.

30 Jan 2020 13:09:10
The exact answer we all expected! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

30 Jan 2020 13:28:54
You expected to be told you don’t understand the difference between banter and bigotry? Not surprised, sure you’ve been hearing it your whole life.

30 Jan 2020 14:00:13
Hi Guys, I'm excited now, when did we sign 'The Queen' (God Bless Her), lol.

30 Jan 2020 16:54:30
That's a quality tune tbh I'd love to hear that at ibrox hsha.

30 Jan 2020 07:55:29
Long time reader 1st time poster. many of you seem to think because of rangers performances as of late have already cost us the title. since the winter break we've won 3 and lost 1. In the 1st half of the season there were times we played absolutely crap and won and no one batted an eyelid.

what the sad thing is some of you are judging rangers from last season after winter break where we went from decent to bad. last nights game wasn't as bad as the st mirren game which we won. actually thought second half of last nights game wasn't too bad.

rangers won't always play exciting football and score the 4 5 6 goals every game. but surely the most important thing is the 3 points? Who cares if the other team park the bus. who cares if we don't play amazing. wins a win. don't get me wrong i'm not deluded. we play celtic like we have been playing we'll be thankful for a draw . And with europa just around the corner we will need to step our game up a bit.

Only criticism i have is rangers not bringing in at least 1 more striker and an rf. we've got the left covered but on the right we don't have anyone that's made for that position. and defoe last nights just proved my point about needing another striker. the amount of players we sent out the last couple weeks and bringing no one in is crazy. surely stevie g and co know it goes Morelos then defoe as backup.

now we don't have that backup for god knows how long and no one i think decent enough to be our second striker. all it takes is for morelos to get injured. l, sent off or whatever and then what. throw ojo back upfront like last night? if we are going to challenge for trophies then we need the players available that will do the job.

{Ed033's Note - But don't you usually post as Stop_the_9?

30 Jan 2020 08:33:08
btw caught there my man, but good post anyway, do you think it would sound less credible if you posted as stop_the_9?

30 Jan 2020 09:59:30
Fantastic😂😂👍.

30 Jan 2020 11:49:23
You’ve just thrown yourself under the bus!

30 Jan 2020 11:49:43
BTW, looking forward to your reply.

30 Jan 2020 11:55:47
Superb Ed 👍🏻🤣🤣🤣🤣. First time poster. Ehh naw yer know mate😂.

30 Jan 2020 14:03:08
C'mon Stop the 9, don't let the Ed away with that, we all know you're really Neil Lennon, lol.

30 Jan 2020 16:55:34
Brass neck, thsts embarrassing 😂😂😂.
