Created a post on Monday that Tav would be dropped as he was not happy with RM threatening to get the players in the day after a game for sprints if they did not do it on the park. Tav and a few others not happy and they would be dropped. guess what happens? Tav was dropped and team played immense!

Jim so did Raskin and Danilo complain also about this and that was why they were dropped. think they were all dropped for attitude as Martin said. your reported meeting was shot down by a coach inside the club but good try.
BTW we won and won well so to come on and try to point score and say I told you so is bit pathetic.

Not just Tav. Dowell, Raskin and Danilo as well. The lads that came in were excellen. Delighted for Dessers, young Cameron done himself no harm whatsoever and we look to have two excellent wingers. Team looked far more balanced.

We need to keep tav out the team, its fine if you don't agree, but he has a negative effect on the team, he came on tonight, done his own thing, big gap on the right, and Antman was cut out the game.

Wullie no he didn't mate what rubbish, aarons done well and he then tav came on and done fine for 15 minutes.
Antman was only on for 10 minutes with tav and was not cut out the game, the team were leggy and antman was subsequently taken off.
can you point out to me what tavernier did wrong in that 15 minutes he was on the park to have a negative effect on the team.

If Tav was against the manager I highly doubt he'd have came on as a sub tonight. He's been a great servant to the club whose best years (which he gave us) are past him. Every manager up until now wanted him to play for a reason and I believe he still has something to offer us so let's not be too quick to write him off.

The team were really good, but it helps having balance and no forcinv players into positions. Thought the wingers, cameron and Ndjiga were excellent. It will hopefully drive competition fo4 places going forward and help us kick om. Re the Tav stuff, think he's still gota role to play and Aarons while looked better on that side, didn't do much in forward areas, other than 1 cracking ball to antman, Horses for courses and maybe room for both i'm the squad but no guaranteed starter.

Tav123 unfortunately I agree with Wullie83, when Tav came on he looked all over the place. Was sad and I'm one of his fans. He started running out of position, got in others way, left a huge gap and at one point could have needlessly given away a penalty all the while pointing at others while doing nothing himself. No idea about the rumour but it was disturbing to watch him when he came on.

Thought that was a much improved performance. Still bit dodgy at the back LB needed jefte was good going forward but defensively not so much Soapy and Djiga were better still few hospital balls when playing around our box. Gassama and Antman were excellent 6 mill for the pair and we have gotten 2 excellent bargains there i think folks. Cameron was superb and again for me Dessers just adds so much more up front and should be our main ST until someone shows us he doesn't have to be. Much more balanced much more energy and bit more evidence of what were hoping to achieve.

Mass I thought Jefte had a very good game and showed what we were missing by not playing him at LB. will our FBs get caught up pitch by counter attacks; yes and I can't understand why fans don't realise this is a by product of the way we want to play. It is physically impossible for someone to get back into position before a ball, which has been kicked 50 yards forward. so as with last night our CBs need to cover across and hold the player up at worst till others get back; run back not jog was Martin's point on Saturday.
Sometimes the hospital ball forward can be down to there not being enough movement in front of the passer. not as bad as before but we did get caught a few times last night still. but watch how many time we played the ball to a player with opposition on their back and it is laid off. heart in mouth a little but it got us forward quickly and found space. it is a bit risk reward and we need to get used to it I thing and cover when it doesn't work.

Its amazing everyone seems to want to find fault with this player or that, can't we all just not agree that it was a great team performance. we tired in the last 20 minutes but is anyone surprised by that with the amount of running they all did.
will it be the same in our league games, highly doubt it, CL/ EU games are always different and we have done well in them for years. will we get the same space down the wings in the league with teams sitting in, i don't believe so but at least now we do have wingers who can get in behind when the opportunity arises.

Unfair to say we won because tav didn't start imo the 2 wide players make a massive difference and keeping both fit could determine how our season goes but aarons looked much more comfortable.

Yilmaz, Cifuentes, Dowell, Davies, King, that should be 6/ 7m, Igamane 15m, maybe even Bajrami for around 3m, loan Nsiala and Fraser out, see if some club will sign Matondo for free, that would be 10 players from the 33, lcb lb cf back to 26.

Agree geesa. I chose to highlight Jefte as he gets stick when it isn't deserved. tav as well but that is another matter. if Jefte didn't play well enough to be considered our first choice RB then I would say we need better than Aarons as well then. Not a criticism of Aarons as he played well but Jefte was much better IMO. I would suggest letting the manager and the club decide who we need to get rid of and who we need still to make the squad better (also they know how much a player is worth) . they seem to be making a good enough job of it now. They have everyone's contact details so they will be in touch if needed.
happy for people to have opinions but I always feel it sets the club up for a fall if they don't sign where people think we need. it is one window and I suspect we won't get everyone but at least next one we won't need 8 or 9 like normal.

Tav has needed dropped/ rested/ phased out whatever way you want to put it for ages and thas was starting to happen under Clement re. Sterling until injuries scuppered it.
If we are having a 'look at me contest', I mentioned Antman as a winger we SHOULD be interested in back on 1st July. Also mentioned Ballo who we were briefly linked with.

Because we don't believe that Tav had that much power over Gerrard, GVB, Beale and Clement . Its another nonsense conspiracy theory which fans on line seem to thrive on . If he had a dispute with Martin and that was the reason he was dropped, rather than just his leggy performance on Saturday, why was he brought on as a sub and why did he get the armband back as soon as he stepped onto the field.
He also, wasn't all over the place when he came on, he made a couple of runs into midfield, one of which set up a chance, because that is the way the manager is asking the full backs to play . Its also the reason Jefte got caught out once or twice in the first half.
They are obeying instructions and the expectation is that others can cover . Maybe it is time for Tav to be replaced but let's stop with the story that he has cost managers their jobs . At least two of them were strong enough that they would have dealt with him if he was a problem and they all kept him as captain.

Played better because players were played in correct position, dessers made such big difference and to have 2 wingers on the pitch was so good to see after i don't know how many seasons.
I don't think the dropping of players was the reason behind tonight's performance, i think the introduction of antman and cameron played big part and having a natural left back playing helped.
I would have preferred raskin in midfield ahead of rothwell and i don't think it would made too much of a difference if tav was playing instead of aarons.

I do agree Angus jefte was good going forward and yes i do understand its not possible for them to be in right place if we lose possession etc but we have 2 very good wingers and a decent midfield its obv to most of us defensively were a bit weak and get caught often i have no issue with CBs being expected to cover my concern is we don't have those types of CBs in the door at this stage so would prefer a wee bit of caution at the back until we know we can get it right.
Last night was a much much better game and performance but make no mistake they still had chances and we still made mistakes we got away with it against Pana deservedly weathered it yesterday but against a much better team we will be punished for those. Just my opinion pal it was nice to see players in their natural positions tho and i do realise RM is trying to get them to play a system that will take a bit of time to get used to.
