He's in his first season out of non league football after postponing a law degree. He is now holding down the right back spot at Falkirk and I seem to remember him having a decent showing against us. Maybe that sparked a wee interest. He is 24, though, but his CV certainly reminds me of a certain Davie Weir. Late developers are sometimes gold.

The amount of reasonably priced players who know Scottish football but are classed as never good enough is laughable.
Doig, Shankland, Lewis Ferguson, Josh Mulligan.
We could have them all for less than 3m all in.
I'm going to use Barron as a good example, grown as a player and although he's not going to be Ronaldo, he'll be a very good player and servant for the club.

Amuses me. Just about every name mentioned on here is deemed as never good enough. Or not Rangers class. Rangers clad was a term coined years ago when we had arguably World class players. No such things as Rangers class anymore.

Would take lads like him anytime over overhyped, overpaid dross fae down south or abroad.
We need a core squad of Scottish players with a bit of heart if we are to be successful again.
what's Rangers class, thelo, slow old Joe, ants not in his pants, I could go on, this snobbery needs to stop, it never bothered Walter to pick up a player fae lower Scottish teams.

BazBear, I don't disagree that those 4 would make a difference I doubt we would have got them for the money you suggest. Both Doig and Ferguson went to Italy for over £3million each and I'm pretty sure Aberdeen in particular would have added a " Rangers tax" and they would have cost us more.
While I agree that the Rangers class label is not what it once was, we should not be signing players just because they are better than we currently have, that's a pretty low bar.
We should still be wanting to sign players based on the level we want to achieve. I don't know Adams at all but maybe a full season at Falkirk in the top league will give us a better idea how good he is, so we should be watching him and others to be fair.

Mulligan preferred Hibs, says it all. You can't get players who aren't interested in coming in first place.
However, there is a level of snobbery amongst our fans with regards to homegrown players.

CalB, Falkirk play entertaining football and are a very organised side, have a good manager mate, look at his record the last three seasons, league one champions going undefeated, champions in the championship, 5th in our league, he would have be a good Celtic appointment, good Celtic man and plays the game the right way, just imagine what he would do with superior quality, so very glad they never though, Nancy is so big a gamble i didn't believe they would take it.

Wsl, I was kinda thinking at various points along the line, such as Ferguson a few years before he went to Italy, doig, the year before, mulligan next to nothing, Shankland free rather than their last moves, but even at twice that they would have been cheaper than Danilo.

I don't think so, may have been there as a kid but can't remember him copland3.

Apparently he did spend some time training with Gers back when he was a kid but his slight frame meant he was released by the club.
