I'm not saying joe aribo is anywhere near as good as these 2 midfielders but his style is of a similar style to ya ya toure and paul pogba IMHO.
Aribo does look bulkier this pre season as opposed to last season. It will of course stand him in good stead for the rigours of scottish football.

We all on here keep on wondering if morelos will be sold or not and how difficult it will be to replace him and of course it will be. But we hardly ever worry on here about what if borna barisic was sold and how extremely difficult it would be to replace him and undoubtedly it would! I honestly am worried that a big money offer comes in for barisic and we end up selling him. let's not be kidded guys, barisic has many admirers out there and a big money bid is very likely IMO!
He must be the best rangers left back for many a year, probably going as far back as arthur numan, to find a better left back!
He is in the form of his life and i hope to god we don't lose him as he'd be a massive loss to us, especially the way gerrard wants us to play, in which our 2 full backs are a massive part in our attacking style under gerrard.
We get our width from both tav and barisic and that's why gerrard has both hagi and kent playing more inside/ central in and around our striker. He trusts our 2 full backs to get the width and deliveries for our striker. Both tav and borna are paramount to the way gerrard wants rangers to play,
very similar to the way alexander arnold and andy robertson play/ provide for liverpool.
Barisic would be so difficult to replace and has to be one of the best left backs in europe at the moment! 👌.

I was thinking the very same last night SGL when watching the game. he must be our most valuable asset. You can clearly see morelos isn't interested and doesn't want to be here. Definitely time for him to go. he was tongue in cheek valued at 40 to 50M at Xmas but we will be lucky to get 15M for him now, he's devaluing himself with every misplaced pass and sulk!

Barasic left foot is a wand, the crosses he was putting in the other night were crying out to be attacked by a jelavic type player, which would give us another edge to our game. You're absolutely right coop. The more he produces the goods particularly with croatia then it will be hard to keep him. The only plus I suppose is that we will get serious money for him👍.

Like it or not, we like Celtic are a selling club. It’s a matter of time. I, like all Gers, hope we can keep them for at least another year and when we sell, get the right price. Provided we reinvest in the team, I have no problem with this and and accept we have no choice with this policy.

That’s why we have to take a punt on Dykes. The balls flung into the box by both Barasic and Tav would provide him with plenty of chances and likewise fir Hagi, Kent and Aribo (who I reckon will really step up this year) on second balls. It would give us another option esp now we are getting balls into box from lots of different angles compared to last year.

I absolutely love Alfredo when he is on his game and he can be unplayable at times. He also lifts the atmosphere inside Ibrox all on his own.

However he has been a shadow of his former self since the winter break. From what I can see from friendly games guys like Tav, Goldson, Kamara, Kent, Aribo, Jack, have all come back fit and hungry. They look as if they will be the nucleus of the team along with McGregor, barasic and Hagi. Alfredo still looks a little Off the boil to me but we are really going to need him come next weekend as there is no plan B at the minute.

Going by pre season form I think/ hope Aribo kicks on this season he has the talent and looks sharp and quick! I also believe Kamara to be a gifted player who could well be an integral player this season. Hopefully Hagi, Kent and Aribo can also chip in with more goals. Oh also think barker looks more like the player he can be, maybe one of these players who come good 2nd season?

It often takes some time for a player to settle into the SPL and we only see the real potential in their 2nd season.

It's happened many time in the past where a player is virtually written off by some of our fans but then ends up as a fantastic player.

If I remember correctly the majority signings under smith advocat hit the ground running DK, same would go for mcleish, although a few of his signings were guff to begin with. Its only recently that players have taken a bit longer than usual to bed in. 🤔👍.

McCoist, Hateley, Goram did not exactly impress for a good while.

I am not convinced by Kamara as a defensive midfield player in the SPL. Yes, in Europe but in Scotland he can't take the "Hammer thrower" tactics and goes missing in games.

Sometimes Kamara tends to want too long on the ball, but if he can eradicate the wee bit of casualness that creeps in from time to time, he will eventually go somewhere for big money because he is a quality player. Anybody who can't see that is kidding themselves on.

I think most fans including myself are impatient and desperate to win the title again DK but at a club the size of ours we can't be putting arms around players all the time, there comes a point where players have to be held to account. If they don't have the mentality to be winners then they are at the wrong club. There are plenty other players out there that would run through brick walls to have had half the chance some of our players have had. I include gerrard in that assessment aswell, this is a huge season for our club, we can't afford any passengers and it is the right of every Rangers fan to call out those who fall below the standard expected. 👍.

Both Kamara and Aribo showed it in flashes but drifted out of games too much last season. We seem to be playing a flat 3 across the middle which is suiting them better, keep it up.

With Defoe's injury, who is on the shortlist to come in as striker (s)? Shankland scored again yesterday against our 'B' team and might be good as part of the back-up strikeforce. Dare I say it, Naismith might look to move if Hearts are confirmed as relegated. Ollie Watkins has scored 25 goals this season. Brentford must now get through the play-offs to win promotion. Perhaps if they fail, he might be available? Thoughts? (wait for it regards the Naismith idea! ) . LOL.

Highland what I’m trying to say is I want someone better than Defoe.
That’s two hamstring injures since December, not going to get better. He’s not a ninety minutes man or two games a week man anymore.
Therefore we need better more availability than him.
I’m happy he’s there and he’ll score twenty but I want someone else in there.

As we all knew anyway, even before wee jermain defoe's unfortunate injury last night, we need to sign a new striker, more than likely 2!I don't what the rest of you guys on here think, but nothing against flo kamberi as he was decent enough for us,
but i honestly don't think he's the striker we should sign! Gerrard stated last night in his after match press conference, that signing a striker is an urgent priority for him now.
We've got 9 days before we play the sheep to get another striker signed! Morelos is currently, our only relatively fit striker and even he looks off the pace atm! He looks rusty just now and not yet fitness wise up to scratch, but he'll get there! 👍.

I think kamberi will come in but I also think another might also. We will no doubt need to offload fringe players aswell to accommodate more players coming in. I think it’s over for doc as he’s falling even further down the pecking order with Barjonas now making more of an impact than he has and mccrorie is more versatile to keep around, even he might get shipped out again.

For me, with Defoe's injury we need to sign two strikers. I would be looking at Taylor as one and then a younger quality striker. I don't believe that Kamberi would help win us the league, he's merely a cheap option but not for me. i'm not sure about Dykes and a lot depends on price but he would certainly add a different dimension to our play.
