Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

I said like many others on here that rangers should have moved to sign livingston striker lyndon dykes in january. Kamberi is a decent signing but IMO dykes would have been a better signing. Jonny mcfarlane on his podcast today, said rangers should have and now must snap up dykes in the summer, as he rates dykes highly enough to suggest that an english championship club could snap dykes and reckons he could become a £10million striker.

Big dykes would undoubtedly offer us a different option, as he's big and powerful and good in the air, can finish with both feet and is fast. What's not to like here fellow bears? We should be looking to sign this sort of striker, like a lyndon dykes, sam cosgrove, eamonn brophy type of striker!

ED, could you please run a poll for me here mate. The poll being if rangers were to sign one of these 3 strikers, which one would be the best signing for us?
Lyndon Dykes, Eamonn Brophy or Sam Cosgrove? Cheers ED, would be very much appreciated pal! 👍.

Rangers Strikers poll

18 Feb 2020 20:36:25
Ssid at the time thought we should have signed dykes. We put a huge amount of crosses into the box feel the big man would get at least 15 a season for us the amount of balls we put into box. Aldo a big handful, can hold it up, go behind and run the channels. Think he will turn out to be a really good plsyer.

18 Feb 2020 20:49:49
Dykes looks the best out the 3 but where would he fit in as we only play 1 up. No chance putting alf out the team. Too many players good at other scottish clubs then join us or celtic and fold and end up in league 1 in england.

18 Feb 2020 21:33:42
Would prefer cosgrove out the 3. Dykes is decent who puts himself about but on par with kamberi i would say.

18 Feb 2020 22:06:45
Don't mind dykes but to be honest I'd hope we had someone a bit better than any of those 3 on our radar. Someone in the prso or jelavic mould!

18 Feb 2020 22:56:00
Herewego, we would then have to buy a player that can put in a decent cross from the right, because tav sees about one cross in seven that get into the area, that's what he is employed to do, its the way gerrard tries to play the team, him one end barasic other end, so wede spent monnet finding a player as fit as tav, but can also put ball in from left, plus money for dykes, i think the money could be better spent, on the kind of players gerrard can get to ibrox, in future, he won't change his ways, i wouldn't think, sg.

19 Feb 2020 09:58:38
Ed. Regarding Supercoop's poll, surely a fourth option should be 'someone else' or 'none of the above'?

19 Feb 2020 10:46:48
Dykes has the potential to be a very good player, the others would be nowhere near our match day squad.

19 Feb 2020 11:15:39
Cosgrove would get sent off every second week if he wore a Rangers top.
Plus all 3 aren’t good enough if we want to be continually challenging for titles and trophies.
And we can’t be signing potential, we need the real deal going forward👍.

19 Feb 2020 12:09:27
U r missing one choice sgl. None off them.

19 Feb 2020 18:04:06
We used to do it all the time, buy the best from other teams. not to strengthen us but to weaken them. difference is we cannot afford non contributors like we did in the past. anyone that comes in must better the current squad.

18 Feb 2020 17:17:34
wondering if our managers record of no league titles at Liverpool is coming back to haunt him here---that's a tough cross to bear if he leaves without a title when his contract is up or whenever----a tad negative I know but stats don't lie.

18 Feb 2020 18:27:29
Going by that logic, champions league final medal anyone?

18 Feb 2020 19:02:51
just saying that maybe its a mental thing with him that hangs around like seaweed---and let's not kid ourselves about the Europa ---we've done well and maybe the last 32 is our limit---I want the 9 in a row stopped and the Europa is a bridge too far and may interfere with winning every game from here--and winning every game is a MUST.

18 Feb 2020 19:40:55
My wee boy at 11 asked me when or if the Gers were going to win a trophy? A know this is a very negative post Guys but usually I would have always have been positive but I just replied and said StevieG was trying his best. Even going to the game on Sunday our bus was as flat as pancake with everyone gutted and wondering where we go from now? Anyway upwards and onwards😢🇬🇧.

18 Feb 2020 19:55:10
Tell you where we go, to the job centre to put up an ad for a proper manager 🤣.

18 Feb 2020 23:33:50
there is another 10 guys on a field with him during a game . going by your logic . none of them have any say if he won a league or not its just SG that decided if they won it.

18 Feb 2020 15:06:30
Is Barasic fit and available or Thursday?

18 Feb 2020 16:52:07
Still struggling, touch and go spparently.

18 Feb 2020 17:57:24
No flanno in euro pool so Halliday will be in at LB, think it will be flat back four anyway with not much emphasis on fullbacks pushing on, so aslong as he holds his position and wins his share of 50/ 50s he will do fine.

18 Feb 2020 19:34:56
He’s 50/ 50 but my gut says he will start. Big loss if he’s out.

18 Feb 2020 20:39:47
U wonder tho if we want to risk him and have him miss longer.

18 Feb 2020 21:05:42
We better hope Borna makes it.
If we need to rely on Halliday at LB then Francisco Trincao will take him to bits if they play him.
I can never understand why we play guys out of position.

19 Feb 2020 01:15:58
Herwego, he would need to be 100pc, before gerrard would use him, ide imagine, mate.

19 Feb 2020 08:47:25
I'll tell you what guys, if I was a young player just now, I wouldn't want to play for Rangers when you know your own fans are happiest when they're kicking you in the nuts, c'mon guys, get the chins off the floor, let's get behind the full squad and the Manager, and let's stop building Alfie up, he's a trier, but there are better players out there.

18 Feb 2020 13:33:33
Just want to put out there that I'm looking forward to the Europa game this week whether we go out or not I reckon players enjoy Europeean nights a change from the domestic front and let's be honest there is more attention!

I hope referees can improve their game in the SPL I do feel lots go against Rangers and that tackle on Connor Goldson of lately wouldve been a straight red in most leagues

The Scottish refs need to take a good hard look at themselves on some of the decisions they make! Why are they getting away with it? Is there something corrupt with the hierarchy?

18 Feb 2020 14:39:12
Well if there isn’t something up with either the individual refs or the hierarchy then there’s something in the refs water, and I don’t think there’s something in the refs water huh 🤔 do they live in fluoridated water areas? 🤣😂🤣 maybe it’s just a case of the hierarchy hire Referees that are either Celtic loving or rangers loathing or both And let the’ flow ‘ do the work while feeling they can dodge any Blame, oh we don’t ref we just hire the refs etc doesn’t cut any ice, we ain’t talking about the odd mad decision which everyone expects in football we’re talking about relentless, game in game out, and in my opinion ‘COMPLETELY UNDENIABLE ‘, I’m done posting on the bias ref subject now. There is no discussion or argument, we’re being robbed . I hope these refs are proud of most Scottish kids nowadays wanting and wearing EPL tops, destroyed our game so they have .

18 Feb 2020 16:54:43
Never bought it snd said so on here, but now starting to wonder. Some of the decisions against us this season have been baffling at best, especially since december.

18 Feb 2020 17:52:45
Well you can put your mortgage on what colour card Alfie would have got for that tackle! Just read that Clancy is on duty at parkhead this weekend, for the THIRD time in their last FOUR home games?

18 Feb 2020 21:26:15
Ask any celtic fan and they will say refs are against them. Now we say the same. Are we becoming what we used to mock or are the refs just that bad.

19 Feb 2020 01:19:09
Gaz ally posted this on here december mate, so ye completly agree pal.

19 Feb 2020 02:18:34
the whole worlds against them. what's your point?

19 Feb 2020 11:22:11
My point is it will always be difficult to have a decent run if you have Refs cheatingbor giving nothing for perfectly suitable sending offs or decisions like Morelos goal vs Kilmarnock that shouldve stood Celtic are getting lots of decisions going for them just now and I am beginning to think is it because there has been near a decade come by where it has always been Celtic where Rangers were absent?! Or is it a case that Rangers are close and a good number don't want Rangers dominating over a team that have dominating Tudor the best part of 10 years.

19 Feb 2020 13:27:56
If you look at the replays of Morelos getting booked for diving and Morelos goal chopped off then u will see that the guy there was more contact made on Morelos during the dive than there was during the other dive the defender made to get the goal chopped off 😂🤣😂 the ref Appears to be perluigi eagle eye Collina with the contact on Morelos and books him for diving then suddenly turns into Elmer Fudd wondering where the wascally wabbit is when he chops off Morelos goal, it’s utter blatant the bias, or maybe the wind blew the defender so the goal couldn’t be allowed huh 🤔 lol 😂 refs male our game a laughing stock I’m sure gerrard and Beale agree but Gerrard is just avoiding being banned by complaining Cause it can’t get any worse than it already is so I wouldn’t think it’s be quiet and hope it improves lol 😆 🤔but complain or not complain it seems we’re stuck with it, Totalitarianism.

18 Feb 2020 12:37:46
How is Clancy at Park Head again? Kilmarnock to lose by 2 penalties and a red.

19 Feb 2020 01:20:17
Rossco, i posted on here its. Called promotion to big games. favours returned, shhh.

18 Feb 2020 11:23:55
Five things I think would improve Scottish football for all. Players and supporters alike:

1. Summer football. Feel free to argue the semantics but let's notionally say Mid March to Early December.

2. VAR in the top league but a simplified version which confirms:

- Goal or not (ball over the line)
- Penalty or not.
- Offside or not
- Red card or not

Nothing daft like down south i. e. - was there a foul 5 mins ago in the build up to the contended throw in!

3. Minimum number of home grown Scots in the squad. Contentious maybe but maybe good for the wider game long term.

4. Referee interview post match to explain key decisions as they saw them. Not expecting every decision to be right or scrutinised as it's a tough job, but any key decision could be clarified.

5. Do away with replays. Games played to conclusion on the day. 30 mins extra time then pens.

We could throw in league structure, youth players, colts teams but I think this might distract for the moment. Interested to hear thoughts for and against and respect all sensible and constructive thoughts.

I4M.

18 Feb 2020 12:30:32
sounds plausible.

18 Feb 2020 12:36:18
Good conversation to get going. Immediate reaction is I don't think number three is legal? Maybe insist on youth but not sure there is an employment issue with nationality? Someone probably knows better than me! Also number 4 would never be allowed to happen unfortunately!

18 Feb 2020 12:59:27
referee interviews -brilliant---what a rubbishshow that would be watching them explain their screwups.

18 Feb 2020 13:18:38
post referee interviews would be a comedy show---that would follow the comedy show on the pitch---great post ibrox4me.

18 Feb 2020 14:41:07
What I'd like to see.
1.No summer football but shutdown moved back into jan/ feb
2.VAR as per OP
3.Match day squads to Inc 3 academy products who must still be u21.
4.Cup ties played to finish.
5.League restructure, 3 leagues with a 4th league of U21s sides from any club of suitable size, with 3rd tier to include top 4 Premier U21 teams in 1st season then Promotion between 21s sides between league 3/ 4 2 up 2 down regardless of where they finish in league 3.
6.Removal of artificial surface in top flight.
7.Top flight split removed.
8.Home and away alternate weeks more often.
9.Any postponed games to take place in next available free mid-week.
10.Ref monitoring by ex refereeing panel set up to score and promote/ demote referees in a league basis.

18 Feb 2020 14:52:34
1 . No
2.full var or nothing
3.no
4.refs would be stuttering wrecks getting interviewed after a rangers game
5.domestic cup games yes. europe no.

18 Feb 2020 15:21:14
How could you do football from march to December, when every two years there is either a world cup or European championships. Not suggesting for one minute scotland would be there, but we do have foreign players playing for us who's national teams could be there?

18 Feb 2020 16:46:38
After reading about VAR getting used on Thursday, it sounds it already is only used for what you described.

18 Feb 2020 16:58:17
Igglepiggle, there's already no replays in Europe mate.

18 Feb 2020 17:56:49
If you watch a lot of premier league games in England then you will see var is not all its cracked up to be. I initially thought that it was there to assist referees making decisions but its not, its TELLING them what decision to make. I think it should be re-named VIR, video instead of referee!

18 Feb 2020 19:04:11
1 yes, but needs some thought. Other countries do it, and would get our teams up to speed before Euro qualifiers
2 yes, but needs thought and no silly decisions like in England
3 done it before, Souness era I think in Europe, that's how Pessley Wilson and others got a game
4 Will never happen
5 Definately.

19 Feb 2020 13:31:56
Haha refs would be stuttering wrecks, either that or constantly coming down with laryngitis 😂🤣.

{Ed's Note - MOCBear has posted a new article entitled, Rangers Supporters Should Not Boo Our Own

18 Feb 2020 10:17:06
An article? hahaha. Some of my posts have been called other things but never an article ed lol.

{Ed033's Note - it was a long post that was suitable for our Football News / Sports articles site.

18 Feb 2020 11:01:16
Well said MOCBear. 👏
You can be disappointed about an overall team performance at the end of a game but booing an individuals display? That’s a no from me as well.

18 Feb 2020 17:01:16
Not heard any individual players being booed anyway Tupac. Fans pay s lot of money and travel far and wide to watch us though, and if we've been terrible are entitled to voice it, only at 90 mins tho. The booing at ht does my head in if I'm honest, get behind the team for the 90 mins if we've been crap boo at ft if you must.

18 Feb 2020 09:42:50
Another thing, why does it have to cost a fortune to install var? What about a cheaper version for Scotland where we use the current tv cameras at the games and a couple of extra officials? We could all see via current cameras that celtics goal was offside in the cup final and that the ball came off The Celtic players hand 🖐 in the old firm, I’d a told them to rule them both out for a couple of Bob and the existing cameras 🎥, so why millions? 🤔.

19 Feb 2020 01:23:32
Gazally, i was never for these var stuff, dead against it, but now i honestly think they are the only thing that will win us the league, these refs are cheats, imho.

19 Feb 2020 13:35:15
Yeah paulellen VAR might be our only saviour, well until the sfa announce that Chris Sutton, John hartson and Jackie Macnamara are you be installed as the VAR operatives haha 😂 I’m beyond rage to insane laughter at the sfa now 🤔.

18 Feb 2020 09:37:04
So it wasn’t a penalty because of the wind? Let me see that rule book again? U know the rule book they drudge up when it suits them . Blatantly obvious the referees against us with statements like that as if it wasn’t already obvious 🤔 the tackle on Conor Goldson was malice, he purposefully timed it above the ball for the exact moment Goldsons leg would be trevelling forward with pace, all because he lost out on the push 4 push before it . Always the same in Scotland, non footballers destroying footballers with revenge tactics . If you skin somebody anywhere else it’s fair play, great football etc you beat me, but in Scotland it’s brace yourself for heavy breathing down your back and a malice tackle as ‘ u won’t take the pss out of me ‘, obviously aided by a ref that thinks u deserve it and a ‘welcome to Scotland attitude ‘ were hard, we’re warriors, were the ultimate losers but we BATTLE! Lol 😂 need to weed out the donkeys like the guy that seeked ‘revenge’ on Goldson in a non football manner, taking the pss right out of himself.

18 Feb 2020 15:00:06
Gaz. let's face it. The higher ups want celtic to win 10iar . so its up to the gallant few to stop it. just remember

"No one likes us. we don't care"

18 Feb 2020 17:05:21
Didnt thi k it was a red being honest, sure gerrard said the same. Thry tackles always look worse because they're sliding across as the players foot is coming through to clear. Makes the impact look much worse I'd have said yellow as well. It's the pen call I have the issue with it's a pen or it's not, since when was the wind in the rules?

18 Feb 2020 18:41:32
Herewego it was not a red mate.

18 Feb 2020 20:42:58
100 % agree with you john.

18 Feb 2020 09:36:50
So we have VAR on Thursday. I used to laugh at posters sounding paranoid about referees being against us. Not any more. That no penalty incident on Sunday was astonishing and the ref says well it was windy! It's time the SFA acted against poor refereeing where intent by the ref is clear. What I'd like to see to add to the entertainment on TV is a post match interview with the referee. Explain away Mr Ref.

18 Feb 2020 06:33:02
So. even gary caldwell admitting rangers are a better team than celtic and that not 1 of their starting 11 would get in our team. 😂😂😂

Also heard a certain member of the unwashed done the infamous throat gesture during the abderdeen game. MR SUTTON! Can you please remind us what should happen to this absolute thug.

Also need to remind the ref how to use that whistle when celtic foul the opposing team its like he gets a bout if amnesia. not a doctor but they need to get it checked out. must be the mesmerising colour of lemons teeth because the refs whistle works just fine when rangers are in town.

On a serious note, i said yesterday the refs from the efa need to be drafted in for the rangers and celtic games. i wasnt meaning just for the rangers v celtic games. i was meaning all rangers games and all celtic games. for a purely unbiased view.

Still people in here criticising kent and the 7 million we paid for him. he didn't make that valuation himself. he wanted to come to rangers so pretty sure if he couldve valued himself at a pound to get here he wouldve . i still think 7 millions a steal and he will be worth every penny if bot more.

Morelos needs to get a grip and stop dreaming of this big money move. watching him play and this is just my opinion. Its as if he doesn't want to be here anymore. hearts not in it. He thinks he's done enough for this move to the epl. while i appreciate what he's done for us this season. if he doesn't want to be here then put someone on who does.

Our goalie mcgregor aka serial shagger. wish he was 25 again n stay with us for years because leta face it. next seasons going to be his last as our main goalie then heel get phased out. same with davis. maybe 1 more season.2 at a push because he ain't the same player he once was. still good vut not as good. Ojo can piss off back to liverpool.

And our manager mr steven gerrard. if he doesn't win us the league this year then i will be pissed off . if he allows them to get to 10iar i will never forgive him. BUT that ain't going to happen because weer winning the league this season.

18 Feb 2020 09:15:15
It seems strange to me that you've still got a hard-on for Kent ( despite his poor form) Yet you seem to have such little time for Morelos, arguably our best player this season (him or Jack)

18 Feb 2020 10:01:05
Agree with you mrgrumpy Kent hasn't shown his 7m valuation. Morelos certainly shown his 1.2m valuation, we have probably made 20x our money on Morelos when he inevitably goes. i don't think it was smart to buy kent after he played well for us. it sounds really daft i know but purely based on the fact we were held to randsom and you just knew we would be, Kent hadn't really done much elsewhere so i reckon if we had been smarter we could have probably inserted a 3m option to buy which would have been accepted. We have learned our lesson from this tho and have a 5m option on Hagi who for me is more worth 5m than kent is 7m.

18 Feb 2020 10:26:02
Kylel1872 - I agree, Hagi has done more in the few games he has been here than most of the team have all season. If we can afford 5 mill for him it will be a steal.

18 Feb 2020 11:15:23
I still like Kent but he's not playing great just now.

18 Feb 2020 13:26:10
Iggle, do you not think that alfie is getting pissed off by decisions going against him, and the whole team at times, he must know his goals and play wouldn't get penalised if he had signed for celtic, or any english club, or any club, where refs aren't bias.

18 Feb 2020 14:26:24
Does any of this nonsense really matter who would get in whos side? There 10 points clear of us and have won 10 trophies on the bounce. until we actually win something theynare a better team than us.

18 Feb 2020 14:46:40
paul ellen obviously decisions go against him. but the diving ain't helping him get amy decent decision. all i'm saying is his heart doesn't seem to be in the right place atm. and grumpy (perfect name) i like kent more than morelos. what's the problem with that? . that's my own opinion. sorry it ain't the same as yours.

18 Feb 2020 15:52:10
Nothing wrong with liking Kent, I was pleased as anyone that he signed. His form has been pretty poor though (not the only one) dread to think where we would be without Morelos this season.

18 Feb 2020 20:44:50
Think you're twisting it a bit mate, he definitely didn't say none of there players would get in out team lol thought you would get a couple of bites tho tbh lol.

19 Feb 2020 01:03:16
Iggle, fair does mate, maybe his head is elsewere because were trying to get him to extent contract .

18 Feb 2020 06:28:25
What's our predictions for our game against braga on thursday, fellow bears? I'm going for a positive 1-0 win for rangers with the in form scotty arfield scoring the only goal in the game. Although i'd obviously like us to take a much healthier lead to portugal, for next wednesday's return leg, i still think a narrow 1-0 win would be a good result, all things considered and of course no away goal! 👍🙏.

18 Feb 2020 09:31:02
2-0 to the Gers, Morelos to score both.

18 Feb 2020 10:15:10
2-1 Gers can’t see us not conceding a goal.

18 Feb 2020 10:27:28
2-0 braga.

18 Feb 2020 10:51:14
0-0 think we will sit bit deeper than normal with kamara back in beside Davis and Jack, sacrifice either hagi or Kent.
Think it will be backs to the wall and be under pressure but see it out and keep the clean sheet which is vital.

18 Feb 2020 11:58:17
Sorry Jzer-Jack is suspended for Thursday night after his sending off v. Young Boys. Kama ra will be back but in his place.1-0 to us btw, Fredo to score.

18 Feb 2020 12:56:25
2.2 both legs through on pens.

18 Feb 2020 13:28:02
Jaws, how could it finish 2/ 1, without rangers conceeding a goal mate,?

18 Feb 2020 14:01:31
I said I can’t see us getting through game without us conceding a goal.

18 Feb 2020 16:39:19
Has anyone seen Braga's recent results? Defeated Porto home and away, defeated Sporting Lisbon home and away, and, defeated Benfica away. It's going to be long night if we play the way we have, and let's face, who's seen any signs of improvement.

18 Feb 2020 17:08:38
Thurs worries me hope we can lift it sgain.

19 Feb 2020 01:05:14
Jaws, appoligies mate, read your post to quickly.

19 Feb 2020 16:27:34
I'm worried tonight . Braga on fire and we are toiling and workmanlike. Hope I'm wrong .
