Zikos, how about the guy with the Govan Stand named after him, the great Sandy Jardine, Alex Clelland wasn't a bad full back either, just an opinion.

14 May 2019 05:59:15
Irvnger - unfortunately I never got to see the great man play at Rangers. I can vaguely remember him playing for Hearts. How about from Souness era onwards?

14 May 2019 08:39:31
Gary Stevens was a brilliant rb I also liked porrini and Alan Hutton was a good player considering he was a youngster when he left us. Never mind RB we could do with numan papac at LB I also thought davie Robertson was a quality LB only for injury to blight his career!

14 May 2019 09:44:03
Sandy Jardine best by a mile. Many others better than Tav as most could defend.
In recent times our best right back was Whittaker who could score from open play regularly.

14 May 2019 11:02:35
Never seen jardine play so just going by what players I’ve seen. Gary Stevens the first 1 I remember. Used to get the video at the end of each season. 40 caps for England as well. woods, butcher, Stevens, Trevor Steven, Roberts and ray Wilkins goodness me what a team.

14 May 2019 12:01:04
Jboy can’t agree with you on Whittaker, lost count of the times he got dispossessed trying to dribble past someone which then led to conceding a goal. Another player (like Ricksen) that played better in Midfield. Would rather Tav than Whittaker all day long.

What is interesting is we can only quote a rangers legend in Jardin or an English international as being preferred to Tav - yet most on here slate him most weeks?

14 May 2019 13:30:15
No Zikos we can’t. There r loads better right backs than tav. Many mentione already
Whittaker
Jardine
Porrini
Reyna
Gattuso
Vidmar
Moore
Steven
To name a few.

14 May 2019 13:43:24
I remember Alex Clelland getting torn a new one by Alessandro Del Pierro - he was a utility man at best, but he played a big part in 9 in a row.

14 May 2019 13:44:08
David Robertson was a class act - him and Laudrup teaming up down the wing.

14 May 2019 19:23:41
Jboy your just blurting our names now. Whittaker - constantly gave away possession. Porrini - technically very good but no pace. Moore (my favourite Rangers player of all time) was terrible under air Walter at rb. Only when he left and Advocaat brought him back as a cb he was immense. Reyna and Gattuso never played rb. Which takes me back to my point about Jardine and Stevens.

We need to go back to a couple of legends to find a better rb than Tav!

I suppose the real question is if we want a defender who defends, doesn’t put a foot wrong like a Porrini. Or someone that attacks and presses and influences the game in the opposition half. I think most managers nowadays prefers the latter.

13 May 2019 22:19:45
Was reading another post and the chat was about how Tav was motm on Sunday and how he was the best rb since Ricksen.

Personally I never rated Ricksen at rb - always thought he was a bombscare in that position. But thought he was different class when McCleish moved him into midfield.

But it got me thinking that I couldn't actually think of a stand-out rb during my time watching Rangers (from 1986). Maybe Stevens or Porrini or Vidmar or Hutton? I'm genuinely not sure.

So I basically thought I would ask everyone for their personal favourite rb to try and gauge where Tav ranks? (Don't think we need a poll? )

13 May 2019 22:34:11
You are not sure if Stevens was a stand out right back? You can't be serious.

13 May 2019 23:29:47
Gary Stevens for me
Great defender
I think Tav is better at going forward but Stevens was a better defender
The game has changed a fair bit as well so that needs to be taken into consideration I suppose.

14 May 2019 05:53:08
Gary stevens was absolutely superb at going forward and defending. The best 2 right full backs i've seen at ibrox undoubtedly were sandy jardine and gary stevens! that's not to say i don't rate our captain james tavernier, because i do and have continually backed him on here.

14 May 2019 06:10:13
Rsfger and scoop, thought Stevens was an excellent defender but not in an attacking sense.

Do we need to go back 30 odd years to find a better rb than Tav?

Alex clelland was good/ dependable but not necessarily great.

Think there have been loads of rb’s that are better defenders than Tav (in fact the only one that wasn’t was the Greek boy arygiou) - but Tav influences games more and more for a positive reason than his bad defending.

14 May 2019 06:27:27
For the record ricksen was not a great right back for us. He had some shockers played his best football for us when he moved into centre mid.

14 May 2019 06:47:01
Zikos I watched gary stevens playing for rangers and can totally guarantee you, that he was an attacking, overlapping right full back mate. He was a very good defender and terrific all round full back!

14 May 2019 07:16:24
Gary Stevens it is then! But where would Tav rank.

Although he drives me mental at times I think I would have him in the team before the likes of Porrini, Hutton etc. Obviously not for his defending but for his attacking contribution.

14 May 2019 07:25:40
Hutton was great for a short while before we sold him, Numan also first class at LB! Great times!

14 May 2019 07:50:49
Claudio Reyna was great at right back but no one I remember was better at going forward than tav who's defending has improved a lot.

14 May 2019 07:53:52
Gary Stevens is the best RB I’ve saw at Rangers. He had just shy of 50 England Caps. Tav, Ricksen, Clelland no in his league, no even a debate about it.

14 May 2019 08:26:56
Twas I and the enlightened, who agreed with me, that nominated Tav. (MOTM) . Isn't it exciting though guys to see 5 or 6 of our players nominated for that accolade even "The Grinch" sorry I meant Coldo must be delighted with that. just for the record I only mentioned Tav. in my Flanagan post because L17 Mac asked what I consider as Rangers captain material. Well that and to annoy you of course. Gary Stevens was indeed very good Dad had just started to take me to games back then. I know I. m an optimist I know I'm enthusiastic about my team even when our team was/ is poor I try to look for the positives and over the last 7 or 8 years sometimes they have been few. SG's analysis of where we are is spot on we are ending this season in a lot better place than last year.

14 May 2019 09:24:16
Sandy in Royal blue and Gary Stevens for me. Tav has a great record of goals and assists right enough, and is quite underrated by some on here. Was at Drybrough Cup final in 1979 (age 12) when DavieCooper scored that amazing goal, but Sandy also scored an absolutely amazing goal that day too. Definitely Sandy for me. Rightly immortalised at Ibrox, a true legend.

14 May 2019 09:24:20
Cant believe not even a mention of David Robertson?

14 May 2019 09:24:33
Was always a fan of porrini myself.

14 May 2019 09:47:46
C of ibrox that’s because Robertson was a left back and the discussion is about rbs.

14 May 2019 10:10:19
My bad lol.

14 May 2019 11:55:48
Having to wade in here to sort out all this nonsense above.

1. Reyna was a centre mid. He covered right back occasionally due to injuries.

2. Porrini was a decent tackler and defender but was a nightmare with the ball at his feet, zero technical ability. He was like the mirror image of Tav.

3. Gary Stevens was top, top class. If he was around today he would be playing for one of the Manchester or London clubs. Don’t underestimate the quality of player we were able to sign for the ten years or so from late 80s to late 90s.

4. Alec Cleland was reliable but nothing special. Never even managed a Scotland cap at a time when Scotland weren’t blessed with great full backs.

5. Hutton was streets ahead of Tav. Look at what he had achieved by the same age. Whittaker at his peak in the run to Manchester was also ahead of him.

6. Ricksen was not the bomb scare some are making out. He had a ropey start to his Ibrox career but went on to be a club legend. Yes, he was better when he moved into midfield but he was a good right back once he had settled, he was in the Dutch squad at a time when they had some great players.

In terms of the Souness era and beyond, Tav ranks behind Stevens, Hutton, Ricksen and Whittaker (in that order for me) . All international players who have played either English top flight, champions league or both.

14 May 2019 13:05:51
I'm sure Robertson had a spell at right back later on in his career.

14 May 2019 14:18:47
Not for Rangers he didn’t. Left back his entire time at the club. Great understanding with Laudrup down the left. Amazing pace and hard in the tackle. Final ball wasn’t very consistent and wasn’t always the most composed in defence. Great player, but basically a better version of Tav. Numan was our best left back of the era by a million miles.

14 May 2019 19:31:43
Sorry wag man but I can’t agree with you, Ricksen was terrible at Rb, Whittaker was better but thought he was better than what he was and got continually dispossessed. Hutton was brilliant for us bombing down the right but his final ball was absolutely god awful. Which Tav’s isn’t and both are as good at defending as each other. So Tav shades it for me.

14 May 2019 22:59:50
I don't think Ricksen was terrible nor do i think he was good a RB, like Zikos he came good when moved into midfield roll and when BF moved on he ran the midfield. in a way it was like BF didn't want him to play well, only my opinion though.

15 May 2019 10:34:54
Zikos - I honestly can’t argue football with someone who thinks Tav is better than Ricksen, a Dutch international and Hutton, who went for £8m and has played most of his career in the English top flight or top half of the championship.

Apart from set pieces, Hutton and Whittaker did everything Tav does. Hutton was unreal his last season with us, absolutely phenomenal. Whittaker was brilliant for us in the run to Manchester, played everywhere. Ricksen ran through walls for this club and became a captain that actually inspired his team to win things.

Tav has achieved nothing and is a far worse defender than any of those mentioned and by his age they all had multiple trophies, European games and international caps behind them.

15 May 2019 11:19:08
I feel like people on here have memories shorter than ten years and succumb to recency bias. You get the feeling that if Zidane used to play for us we would have folk on here saying “was too casual on the ball for me, much prefer Ryan Jack”.

Dig out the old DVDs and watch again lads. There are very few (if any) players in the current team up to the standards of old. That’s not saying they are bad players, we’ve some great talent now, but it’s night and day with some of the people who came before.

15 May 2019 17:09:10
Swagman - you are the one with the memory issues! If you can't remember how often Whittaker was dispossessed, if you can't remeber that Hutton couldn't cross a ball (At Rangers, Tottenham and even now) then you have might have issues! And the only reason they have caps is well because they play for a rather S@#t international team!

As for Ricksen - he was technically good and turned out to be a really good central midfielder, but again you have memory issues if you think he was good at RB. Not on the same planet as Numan on the other flank!

Are Manchester United Fans' Emotions Clouding Their Views?

14 May 2019 09:58:02
C Of Ibrox do you put your shoes on the correct feet 😂.

13 May 2019 21:40:31
So guys, thoughts, do we still need the number 10 we were crying out for at the turn of the year or is Arfield making that position his own. if we do need and get a number 10 to play they number 10 role, not talking about Davis here, then what do we do with Arfield?

13 May 2019 22:07:57
I think to continually improve you need to keep adding quality so I think we will add to that area. It might depend on how docherty does in pre season. Arfield has made that position his and whoever is competing with arfield for that position will have to up their game. 👍.

14 May 2019 07:30:28
We do need a number 10 as outwith Arfield none of our midfielders have scored enough goals, a number 10 could play with or instead of Arfield and also gives us the potential to switch to 4-2-3-1 easily or even a 3-5-2 or the like. Love the new formation however teams will work out how to stifle us and we will need to switch it up at times.

14 May 2019 08:31:07
yeah Gary Stevens was a good, steady player. Arthur on the left, later on was good too. Between the souness era and the Little General we had some great players in, but alas it was to break the club, so we still have to be carful in recruitment not to over spend.

Did Ed Woodward Make His Biggest Ever Mistake Appointing Ole Gunnar Solskaer As Manchester United Manager

{Ed's Note - DLIB has posted a new article entitled, Did Ed Woodward Make His Biggest Ever Mistake Appointing Ole Gunnar Solskaer As Manchester United Manager

13 May 2019 19:45:47
I'll probably get shot down for this but, I think Flanagan would have got sent off (undeservedly) if the tims had the Broomloan stand. The ref reacted to only what he saw and not what 7500 fans thought they saw. When broon when down once again holding his face and rolling about there was no great roar from the stand demanding his immediate sending off (and arrest and prosecution for grievous) so as far as i'm concerned, keep them in the corner!

13 May 2019 20:11:50
Jyf your probably right.

13 May 2019 20:12:19
Undeservedly LOL IT WAS A RED ALL DAY EVERYDAY.

13 May 2019 20:19:39
That’s one of the best decisions the club have done in our history is put THEM in the corner it’s only THEM that I hear complaining about it Sutton, walker etc never change it back Rangers 🇬🇧.

13 May 2019 20:26:41
Good point probably right mate.

13 May 2019 21:02:28
I reckon it wasn't a red because Brown was clawing at Flanagan's arms so what he was trying to do was to snrug Brown off so it looked worse than it really was.

13 May 2019 21:10:06
It was a red all day to be fair but he deserved it so well done flanagan. On the subject of flanagan I thought he was class aswell yesterday, he's upped his game in the last 6 weeks and looks a much better player. 👍.

13 May 2019 23:21:27
Red all day you can excuse it all you want but flanagan purposely elbowed brown. Must admit did feel good to see it happen especially after last old firm antics.

14 May 2019 04:04:02
Yous one the game fair and square. In all honesty thought broony went down too quick. Stop analysing pish. We wouldn't have won with 20 that day . No trophies though 😕.

14 May 2019 09:12:23
I too enjoyed seeing Broon writhing about on the ground, even though Flanagan barely touched him. I enjoyed even more Kamara's class feint when he eased past Broon to start the move which led to the 2nd goal. Pure class.

13 May 2019 19:08:44
Hi fellow bears, I feel that too many are quick to write off docherty. As much as Arfield has been tremendous this season he cannot be the only midfielder to have attacking thoughts. Jack is certainly not going to chip in with 10 goals per season and I firmly believe that docherty could act as an understudy to Arfield next season. People saying that he wouldn't get into the midfield are correct but he is an able back up for a box to box midfielder.

He's still young and a season away from ibrox has hopefully done the young man good.

13 May 2019 19:13:51
100% agree with that mate.

13 May 2019 21:10:51
Hope he comes good👍.

13 May 2019 21:54:07
I'm a fan of young greg docherty, but have to be honest as it's going to be difficult to get into our current midfield. Everyone of our players was at it against them yesterday and all deserve massive credit. The midfield as everyone knows is where you win or lose the game and we were very impressive in that area of the park yesterday! For once i was absolutely stumped as to who was the motm, as davis, jack, kamara and arfield were immense and destroyed their midfield. Winning that midfield battle with ease, was the platform for us to go on and win the game very comfortably! Stevie davis always demanding the ball in tight spaces and never gave it away, pulling the strings for us. Davo is playing superbly well now he's match fit and
he could keep the ball off you in a phone box! Kamara the snip of the season at 50k and just glides in midfield, playing with his head up,
ryan jack snapping away doing all the dirty work and winning the ball back constantly, an unsung hero for me at times. Then gerrard's best signing for me, the wonderful scotty arfield, who's the clever runner who gets beyond the striker, with his very intelligent timing of his runs,
the goalscoring, attacking midfielder, who just never stops moving and running! This midfield is absolute class!

13 May 2019 22:02:52
Super Gerrard was not the manager when we signed Arfield.

13 May 2019 22:26:23
I know the deal for arfield was done before gerrard was announced as our manager but he was asked about arfield being signed and he was more than happy to have arfield. that's why i count him in as 1 of stevie G's signings!

14 May 2019 09:55:31
Well u r wrong then. If he said he thought Sandy Jardine was great would I say he was a Gerrard signing.

13 May 2019 16:41:10
If your source is a former employee, why would he know all that. Do you keep tabs on all that's happening at your previous jobs 😂😂.

13 May 2019 23:31:40
Orange Tinted, I am a former Rangers employee and I know and hear almost nothing that involves the management team or players or even former directors. I get information from rumours like the rest of us, from people who are close to people who are close to other people. Supercooper, meanwhile, is an hysterical fantasist.

13 May 2019 14:45:33
Anyone heard anything of the young Finnish lad atakayi? last i heard he was on loan to hjk Helsinki is he back? How did he get on there?

13 May 2019 14:52:32
Hjk season don't finish until October but scored a peach the other day updates on loan players on rangers webpage.

13 May 2019 17:30:38
Anyone ever heard of George Edmondson, the ch that Rangers are quoted to be watching? Just because he plays for Oldham means nothing, could be an uncut diamond like Kamara.
Had a look at Celtic rumours, boy they are angry 😡 excuses are flying about, a lot of them want Chris Houghton for their next manager not Lennon.

13 May 2019 18:57:07
Any sign of bhampot over there ulster🤔😂😂👍.

13 May 2019 19:27:45
Ulsterman, either or for the mhanky job, no big deal. Never saw the guy Edmondson so I asked my Manchester mate and he said this is the first season he's really broken through, but he looks a prospect.

13 May 2019 19:15:40
He isn’t on loan at HJK Helsinki.

13 May 2019 19:55:07
he plays for sjk in finland.

13 May 2019 12:49:07
Sutton saying our 'meaningless win sums us up'. Does he not get the rivalry of Rangers Celtic? Showing great disrespect to both sets of fans.

13 May 2019 13:19:59
its click bait, if he’s not controversial he becomes irrelevant. Don’t even talk about him.

13 May 2019 14:09:06
The more people that rise to him the more "air" time he gets. He's a joke figure just as much down south as he is up here. Not even his fellow pundits take him seriously. 👍.

13 May 2019 15:37:25
You talkin aboot yersel or Sutton?

13 May 2019 16:18:27
hes getting worse.

the sheep beat us twice at home and the celtic couldn't. why is that?

13 May 2019 17:36:23
Why click bait? He is only stating a fact. No point beating one team twice, when you drop so many points against so called lesser teams. You will be far weaker next term, judging by you leavers, stayers and loaned joiners.

Need to get real, this is the best chance you had with the Champions losing concentration and key injuries but still fell far short.

13 May 2019 17:39:21
I'm loving it. Keep it coming Chris, you're pure bealing.

13 May 2019 20:55:18
Chris Sutton also states that this comprehensive defeat doesn't or shouldn't stop Lenny getting hired. Says it's not his team. Bearing in mind this is a multi treble winning side.

He also gave SG 4/ 10 for the season on BT. Says he's not done very good at all even though SG inherited utter muck, a broken squad and overhauled it.

Sutton is truly the Katie Hopkins of football punditry and a gimp of the highest order.

13 May 2019 22:27:10
Sutton, managed at the highest level, Lincoln City and he quickly got the heav-ho. Hasn't got a clue.

14 May 2019 09:00:38
Hope not hate, you need to stay of the drink mate

" You will be far weaker next term, judging by you leavers, stayers and loaned joiners. "

please explain your logic here? loans ending - worral, coulibaly and kent

only one that will be missed is kent and personally not a great loss. yes he can beat a man but his end product is more than not awful. 6 goals and 4 assists all season isn't exactly setting the spl alite

already been replaced with a full international with better stats in spl so not worried

as for Worral and coulibaly. thank christ.

13 May 2019 11:31:13
Looking back at our results, the league was lost in March. 7 points dropped with draws against Hibs and Kilmarnock and a 2-1 defeat by the unwashed. We also got knocked out of the Scottish Cup in March. If only.

13 May 2019 11:39:31
Doiger we dropped plenty points where we shouldn't have long before march👍.

13 May 2019 11:43:23
Yes I know coldo, but I'm just saying that having got back to where we were in the league before the winter break, that progress disappeared because of our poor form in March. However, I think the last six wins on the trot auger well for next season (I'm a glass half-full chap) .

13 May 2019 11:47:27
For me the league slipped away 1st game after the break at Killie when worrall gave that goal away . all of a sudden they went 3 points ahead and won the game in hand to go 6 in front and what's the gap now?

13 May 2019 12:00:52
Correct gp huge psychological blow. Just because you are a glass half full guy doiger doesn't mean you are right lol, completely irrelevant what type of guy you are. We went top of the league at tynecastle and then made an @r$e of it the following week. We then drew level before the winter break and what happened after the first game back, we made an @r$se of it again. Up until just before the split inconsistency had plagued us all season. The last 5 or 6 games have been at a level we should be and that does lay down a marker doiger👍.

13 May 2019 13:00:48
I'd argue it started with failing to take all 3 points at Pittodrie on the opening game, that set the tone for plucking defeat from the jaws of victory. This was followed by random moments of inconsistency that let us down. However, even the Ostriches would struggle to say that we have not progressed this season, and with a better consistency next season we will challenge them.

13 May 2019 14:49:30
Coldo. There's no denying that a disastrous March cost us the title no matter what happened earlier in the season. We were in a good position at the winter break to push on but didn't. For me, get rid of Morelos and take the cash as the team has played superbly well in winning the last six games, mostly without him. If Defoe and Davis had been fit to play in March well, enough said!

13 May 2019 15:11:13
Doiger we dropped 21 points before the winter break and 15 points after the winter break. March did not cost us the title. Enough said😁👍.

13 May 2019 15:18:09
2 points dropped in last minute v Aberdeen
2 points dropped in last minute v Motherwell
1 point dropped and 2 gained by Celtic with their winner at Parkhead

We’d be sitting on 83 and them on 82 going into last game of season.

We need to tighten up at back for 95 mins.

13 May 2019 15:58:58
Bruised bear, lafferty goal at Dundee that was disallowed, hibs at ibrox.

13 May 2019 17:49:58
Jboy21- between us we’ve won us the league. Rejoice! 👍.

13 May 2019 22:03:27
Bruise. Next year mate.

Happy hangover guys or is that just me
Still over the moon with yesterday
Great show from the boys.

13 May 2019 10:53:20
Great to see young Docherty on the pitch at the end yesterday joining in on the celebrations. Looking forward to seeing him next season as first team player on the park playing.

13 May 2019 14:12:22
I think docherty and rossiter are really going to struggle to get near that midfield bankie. I hope docherty has what it takes. I think we will sign another cm aswell. 👍.

13 May 2019 19:32:06
In place of who, Bankie? Is he even better than McCrorie on the bench? He will need another half season at least on loan at a higher level than this season.

13 May 2019 10:34:28
Anyone seen chris smuttons comments about us in todays daily record
What a fud he is.

13 May 2019 10:59:34
Saw the headline and refused to read it. Man is a total bitter bell end.

13 May 2019 11:32:04
To be fair to Mutton, he makes no secret of his allegences and he is always trying to be controversial and he plays the pantomime villain quite well in the press - i am more irked by the BBC and their constant bias and efforts to get Rangers players in trouble. More replays of that elbow on Broon than all the goals put together yesterday. They are supposed to be neutral, but Jonathan Sutherland was nearly greeting yesterday and Michael Stewart is just a knob.

13 May 2019 12:11:28
also with not even a hint or sniff at the Simunovic elbow on defoe off the ball. but a suppose the whole of the media seemed to miss this on.

13 May 2019 12:11:54
Is there any journalists from the Scottish papers that like Rangers? All I seem to read is anti Rangers rhetoric coming from all the DR journalists but one. Even some papers in NI are going on about the chanting at Lennon but not the game itself, one even said that Rangers are hated all over the world because of this sectarian nonsense, but Celtic ‘s chanting is barely mentioned.

13 May 2019 14:11:29
The Simunovic incident was shown once and never discussed or even raised by anybody. It looked a clear elbow. Roles reversed and they would be all over it. Sporting integrity - aye right.

13 May 2019 16:33:37
On the brightside at least this time it was a man Flanagan assaulted.

13 May 2019 17:45:54
At least Flanagan bird stayed on her feet, I thought brown was meant to be tough.

13 May 2019 18:08:32
LMAO Jboy21 I wasn't expecting that reply lol. Liked that one mate lol.

Class jboy👏😂👍.

13 May 2019 10:18:05
Great team performance and result yesterday. Shows that in one off game we can get the upper hand. . Hopefully we avoid repeating aftermath of the December victory when excessive celebration extended into delusion and then complacency.

13 May 2019 10:05:35
Now everybodys had a chance to calm down after yesterdays fantastic performance. I feel next week last game of the season for us would be a great opportunity to start several youngsters who deserve it like young mcpake? Feel we have already layed a marker down for next season this transfer window is massive for us. And hope they keep Lennon on.

13 May 2019 11:12:55
One or two maybe, important to finish with a win if possible, I’d definitely give Arfield a rest apart from that the same team as yesterday please!

13 May 2019 09:59:25
I see some of the big names entering the Europa league in the 3rd qualifying round, when sevco rangers won't be seeded. hopefully rangers get a taste of brexit before the rest of the country.

As for us, seeded all the way through, won't be a cake walk.

13 May 2019 10:25:37
Ohhhh Sevco! really bit past its best now bud in fact a bit embarrassing for you anything to detract from the woefully inept performance your mob put on yesterday

13 May 2019 10:48:28
He’s actually meant to write that on the Celtic page I. F, but he’s that obsessed he’s no clue that he’s on the wrong page loool.

13 May 2019 11:04:07
Here's me thinking this was a Rangers page. Oh it is, then someone appears to have got lost looking for their own pages - "another hampden win"?

13 May 2019 13:18:43
Give him a break lads the Celtic pages must be a terrible read today let him cheer up a bit haha.

13 May 2019 15:16:40
Pretty desperate stuff - can you image how these people spend their weekends outwith the football season, what a grim existence lol.

14 May 2019 12:01:45
Here mate I’ll help you out with some other patter -

“Zombies”

“Scott Brown could have been killed by that shocking assault”

“The bad men were singing bad words at us”

“Brendan Rogers is a traitor for leaving us for a better job that pays more money with fans that shower and use soap”

13 May 2019 09:07:01
So sad, had a great day yesterday really proud of my team, all I read this morning is Flanagan's elbow. Scott Brown went from pantomime villain at Parkhead to the Circus clown at Ibrox. Our performance was almost perfect and still the biggest talking point is was it his forearm or his elbow?
What I expect from a Rangers captain is to lead by example by giving everything, as Tav. does, every game even when playing badly, which Tav. doesn't jk jk, and taking responsibility. To the short sighted and those who are hard of thinking watch how much ground Tav. covered Definitely MotM but great that, those of you who are wrong, we can put 4 or 5 of our lads up for best player.

13 May 2019 09:26:25
Forget the elbow incident trying to deflect from a great performance
Tav was immense whole team was
Long may it continue.

13 May 2019 09:31:30
You just have to laugh at the coverage mate
We played them off the park and it’s just the start of things to come in my opinion

Just think - what are they going to be like If we stop 9 in a row and get 55
Can you imagine the state of Walker, Stewart, Sutton, spears, Hartson, Mclaughlin, etc etc etc

Make no mistake lads this is going to be epic.

13 May 2019 09:40:19
Bluepete I think its you that's hard of thinking. Tav was not motm, far from it. The 5 lads in midfield were head and shoulders above him. Tav did have a great game. You are obviously clutching a straws here because this is the second post from you where you are desperately trying to prove you are right. Tav had a great game but not even close to man of the match. Infact edouard exploited the gap that tav left at rb and if burke wasn't crap then celtic would have scored. I like tav and as I said he had a great game but you are delusional if you think he was motm👍.

13 May 2019 09:49:16
I agree, sad that Flanagan's elbow is the main topic of conversation by the media. He did elbow Broon but the cheater went down like a pile of bricks holding his face - if the elbow did strike him it hit his neck or throat. Even if Flanagan has been sent off the game was won by then and it would have made no difference. I thought our midfield five of Davis, Jack, Arfield, Kamara and Kent were magnificent.

13 May 2019 09:50:32
You seem to have an issue with Tav, Coldo - as a few do on here. Best right back since Ricksen for me.

13 May 2019 09:59:41
You sure about that? Read my post again souness before making a fool of yourself👍.

13 May 2019 10:31:55
For me foderingham was man of the match 🤣🤣🤣 oh wait he had nowt to do all game lol this mighty team Celtic couldn't muster a single shot on goal until what? 7 mins to go or so lmao.

13 May 2019 10:32:16
pretty sure the "elbow" didn't hit him in the face, he just made it look that way, as he always does and Lemon and his pack of lawless wolves can't help themseves. Sure the "impartial Beeb will have been happy to jump in it.

they are never defeated, but always cheated. I've been supporting Gers for about 60 years and in the last 25 this has been their usual response. PATHETIC.

13 May 2019 11:17:41
Think he got hit by the same coin his manager was hit with at Tynecastle 🤣🤣🤣. Seriously though, that is always their angle and we need to be wise to it. How many points have they gained this season by playing 10 men? This is a missed opportunity this season and 3/ 4 players to push us onto 90 points must be the aim!

13 May 2019 13:08:11
. Souness Read Coldo’s post again He clearly states he likes Tav For me motm was Steven Davis 🇦🇺🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

13 May 2019 08:21:02
I've just watched the recording of Sportscene and Stewart's face is a picture of misery though Thompson reluctantly gave us praise. Walker on Sky Sports is another bitter wee man. Great performance and should have been more than two. The second goal was a peach from Kamara through Defoe to Arfield. The future now does look bright.

13 May 2019 08:30:46
What a state the TV coverage has become
sportscene has become a permanent hunt for anything negative to say about Rangers.
Sky Sports coverage is a joke - to sit and listen to a Celtic supporter spout rubbish for 90 mins is a hard watch
Then we have BT sport 😂😂😂 constant controversial comments to try and be relevant
Thankfully Sutton and co will be looking for work at the end of the season - let’s just hope it’s not in football

The positive to take from all the is that more and more people should just be piling money into Rangers TV.

13 May 2019 08:49:29
Stewart has had an agenda against us since he was told he wasn't good enough to play for us. It must be in there contract with the BBC that they are against anything to do with rangers as for Thompson the less said the better.

13 May 2019 08:52:21
Thats exactly what sky and bt are fraser52👍.

13 May 2019 09:52:00
More replays of that elbow on Sportscene than all the goals put together. Wonder if Jonathan Sutherland will have sent the footage to the SFA this morning.

13 May 2019 07:48:59
Morning fellow bears, hope everyone had a good sunday sesh after that magnificent performance from the boys yesterday. I think that has to be the best old firm game i've had the pleasure of attending.
I'm still buzzin from the game. Some of the tims i know were saying it was a meaningless game, if that's the case then they shouldn't support that team. There is no such thing as a meaningless old firm game.

I was watching the highlights this morning and i though Flannagan was a lucky boy, that could have been a red card.
There is no highlights of the jermaine defoe penalty claim though, i thought it was a stone waller but, i can't see it in any of the highlights. Was it a penalty?

13 May 2019 07:53:21
It was NEVER a penalty. He was lucky NOT to be booked for diving IMO.

13 May 2019 07:55:11
No mate, he played for it.

13 May 2019 08:18:16
Brown does some moaning, every game he plays he plays hard and a lot of times unfairly, always throwing out a fishing rod, his tricks didn’t produce the said effect yesterday. I honestly believe he is under orders to get certain players booked or sent of. Maybe I’m just bias.

13 May 2019 08:38:54
Never a pen - he played for it
Flanagan was a red
The unwashed will be focusing on these two incidents rather than the fact that they were lucky to get away with 2-0
They will happily forget that Brown and Burke have provided us with two of the worst dives in recent seasons
As for the elbow I thought it was more of a forearm to be honest
Michael Stewart seemed to think a forearm was ok when it was the Killie keeper on Kamara he now thinks it’s a red because it’s a rangers player - funny that eh

Given what Brown has fished out and got away with over the past few seasons I have no problem with what Flanagan did
I also think he will now get a ban from our friend the compliance officer.

13 May 2019 08:55:34
Spot on fraser52, brown got what he deserved and michael stewart is the worst quid ever spent😂😂👍.

Review Of The Day 13th May 2019

13 May 2019 07:29:12
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 13th May 2019

12 May 2019 23:56:34
The stream I was watching cut out from sky and changed to Celtic tv at half time. Not ideal but tbh it was a pleasant change from Andy walker. At least the commentators were open about their bias. They kept saying "we" and "thankfully rangers attack came to nothing" etc but they were surprisingly honest and not at all bitter. Either that or they hid it well.

Great performance today and hope it's a proper foundation for next season. We have big game players now just need to work on opening up stubborn teams and we'll be right up there. A wee bit of pace on the counter would do us good but maybe Jones and hastie will bring that. So good to have a midfield that can rattle one of them but also isn't afraid to take the ball and look for a pass.

Onwards and upwards.

13 May 2019 08:07:49
I watched the same link and I was in stitches with their own smugness, the amount of times they said things like "when we dominate 2nd half as we should do" and stuff like that, it just didn't happen did it? 🤣🤣.

12 May 2019 22:30:13
Not getting too carried away with myself but what a f*#"'n game that was even better when abroad with the family. Puts us in a good position for next season and hope this game is reflected on and showed in pre season to set a marker on how to play against them and all opposition in the league regardless if reputation or stature.

12 May 2019 21:22:17
Can we just get away from this celtic were just poor rubbish. They said this on the 29/ 12 and now 12/ 5. We never let them play. We made them poor. It wasnt a case of they never turned up or if they had of turned up it would have been a different game. We beat them and never let them play football.

13 May 2019 06:33:47
spot on finty

always the same when they loose - celtic were just poor the day. hmm wonder why

maybe big kamara meggin lego in a phnbox and scottyarf runnin riot!

now fully fit davis allows us to press, win ball back and keep it under pressure - excellent addition he’s a yard quicker than anyone upstairs - touch and reading of game allowed him to stroll it yday.

13 May 2019 07:45:57
where were these players earlier in the season?

13 May 2019 07:53:56
DEEB earlier in the season Kamara was at Dundee, defoe was at Bournemouth and Davis was at Southampton.

12 May 2019 20:51:09
Just like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to our club captain through the darkest period in our history. Lee Wallace u have been an exceptional ranger and served our club fantastically well. Hold your head high son, your one of us! The fans will never forget.

13 May 2019 07:46:52
Hold your head high? Getting paid 25 grand a week to play against Berwick, Annan etc. No wonder he stayed.

13 May 2019 07:54:19
No way he's on 25k a week?

13 May 2019 08:30:16
No matter what it was MG, it was big money, it made him stay to play against part time players, I’ve no don’t Wallace is a decent human being, but he’s no saint, 😇 he’s a business man with a short career and he was on a massive wage for anyone’s standards, good luck to him I’d have done the same in his shoes.
