On a serious note. Anyone heard anything about Lafferty to Murderwell?

C-of-Ibrox

1.) 22 Jun 2019 06:42:51
Would be good if lafferty stays in Scotland. When playing for hearts he used to score a few goals against Celtic!

02 Jun 2019 11:16:18
Ian McColl says Lawrence Shankland 'has an offer from a big club in Scotland where you have to be mentally strong to succeed'.

1.) 02 Jun 2019 11:51:03
If it indeed is us. then what have we got to lose?

Proven goal scorer, won’t be on massive wages if it doesn’t work out make a couple hundred grand off him.

2.) 02 Jun 2019 12:03:50
If were trying to stop 9IAR i really hope not we have already brought in an average player in Stewart really don't need anymore. Hardie is better than shankland and he's not good enough either.

3.) 02 Jun 2019 12:15:23
I agree mate. definitely worth a punt. what's to lose?

4.) 02 Jun 2019 12:20:46
I would take shankland will only improve with better training and players etc.

5.) 02 Jun 2019 12:22:31
Hardie ain't better than shankland

My opinion only am not dissin hardie.

6.) 02 Jun 2019 12:34:52
I'm all for giving shankland a chance, but to me it's just another Cummings, championship level.

7.) 02 Jun 2019 12:41:35
His goals ratio looks not to bad give him half lafferty wage still save a fortune, in saying that I mind when we signed nicky Clark expecting a lot out him as well.

8.) 02 Jun 2019 13:07:18
This boy Shankland is just nowhere near the calibre of player who will be able to offer anything to the first team. I've seen him a couple of times and he looks well short of what's required. He scores goals at a certain level, but then again so have many others (Clark, Deuchar, McDonald etc) and none were good enough to play for us.

9.) 02 Jun 2019 13:58:11
Shankland is an interesting option. He was, I think with aberdeen and failed to make an impact then, but may have matured a bit. Worth a chance as knowing where the goal is, can't be taught.
As for the rumours of Baines, they are I think just the usual paper trash. I don't see him coming here.

10.) 02 Jun 2019 14:50:19
Agreed. Cummings was brilliant in championship. Since then he's done absolutely zip. Shankland could prob get a game for bottom 6 club.

11.) 02 Jun 2019 15:02:49
I agree shankland may not be the best option but stop saying he's not at our level. Have u went forward in time to see? No so anyone who says that has zero clue. I haven't checked with Nicky Clarks parents but I'm pretty sure him and shankland are not the same person so even more idiotic to compare the two. for all we know he could come in and score 4000 goals in 2 games. We do not know! Hardly the same level but Harry Kane was a baw hair from being punted at spurs. They had a crisis, he came in and did well. Point is we do not know. He is young, he's been in form (at a lower level) for the last couple of years and would cost pennies in fee and salary. We do not have a bottomless pit. Guess who else came from a much lower league with a good reputation and has succeeded - Morales. So less of the mystic meg nuggets.

12.) 02 Jun 2019 15:25:17
Forget about Ryan Hardie!

13.) 02 Jun 2019 16:42:24
All these people saying he ain’t good enough, give the boy a chance.

Look at Andy Robertson told he wouldn’t make it went to Queen’s Park and the rest is history but you got to love the so called managers on here that are clueless.

14.) 02 Jun 2019 17:15:13
You're right easytiger. let's look under the hood first, before deciding a players fate, before we've even signed the guy. It most definitely is worth taking a look at lawrence shankland and would cost buttons to bring him in. Its a no brainer for me. Working along with our manager and coaches may just take young shankland to another level and that would hopefully be with us. I don't think we can lose signing shankland.

15.) 02 Jun 2019 17:16:39
He is at Ayr. There is quite a few clubs bigger than Ayr. It could be Kilmarnock, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs. All would require him to have a better mentality. Feck hope its not us.

16.) 02 Jun 2019 17:57:45
Easytiger, he's nearly 24, he has failed at lower than our required level a few times, he's not a wee boy you might take a punt on. He's where he is - and is not linked with any other club comparable to us - for a reason. That's his level. And those who disagree with your utterly absurd nonsense about 4000 goals in two games are 'nuggets'! Stroll on! And Coops, please stop calling any player over the age of 21 a 'youngster'. This guy in particular has been a professional footballer for seven years and has 'improved' to be good enough for Ayr United, not Rangers!

17.) 02 Jun 2019 19:26:41
If lafferty can't get a game then how the f*ck is shankland going to get a game. We need better👍.

18.) 02 Jun 2019 21:16:25
Shankland might not be the big marque signing we are all hoping for but the guy would be a free transfer, on low wages. It is low risk and worth a punt. If you look at some of the goals he’s scored, it doesn’t matter what level he’s playing at, he is a finisher. He will shoot on site, something we are not currently great at IMO.

I don’t think he would be 1st choice but may be a useful option to have in the squad and given the better service we can provide him, I’ve no doubt he would get goals. Let’s wait and see, but if we do get him in, back him. Let’s not crucify him before he’s even in the door.

19.) 02 Jun 2019 22:02:04
It was Lafferty's attitude that let him down.

20.) 02 Jun 2019 22:17:07
Very valid points Daisy Yore.

21.) 03 Jun 2019 02:07:59
I know it was his attiute kaz, my point is that lafferty is better than shankland and is currently 3rd choice behind defoe and morelos, how can anyone expect shankland to get a game or improve us? 👍.

22.) 03 Jun 2019 08:55:56
In my humble opinion a team should only bring a player to the club to either enhance or consolidate the club in weaker areas of the squad and for me LS does neither.

23.) 03 Jun 2019 09:01:03
Simple solution, sign him, let Gerrard have a look during pre season if he looks up to it he replaces Lafferty as 3rd choice. If he isn’t we loan him out to Premiership club where he gets more opportunities.
If he does well then great could be a nice boost to recall in January or for following season if not it’s a low risk signing and we would probably still get our fee back when selling him.
He’s either going to be player who gets 2nd bits of the cherry on top flight and grabs it or just a good championship player, like everyone else I want a higher calibre of player being signed but there’s always room for low risk signings who are relatively young and know where the back of the net is.

24.) 03 Jun 2019 09:09:32
Get shankland in 3 yr send him to ross co yr loan see how he goes in spl if crap sell if not we have 2 yr left to improve him more at rangers.

25.) 03 Jun 2019 09:42:58
With my super human powers I popped into the future and sadly I forgot the lads name. So with my superior brain I thought about it. Then the wife said "If you don't get your super ass into the garden and sort it yer dead" So i'm off gardening.

26.) 03 Jun 2019 10:19:14
Someone want to tell me what level Jamie Vardy was playing at 10 years ago? Or where Robertson was a few years ago? Not saying if he will or won’t be success but let’s not write the boy off before he kicks a ball. People scream bloody murder when we sign someone from a domestic team but then get in an excitable flap over the prospect of signing guys they’ve never seen play for foreign leagues. Been plenty great Gers players pinched from diddy Scottish teams and plenty flops signed from foreign leagues.

27.) 03 Jun 2019 14:57:34
The swagman. he's already played for higher clubs and done absolutely zip.

28.) 03 Jun 2019 15:07:38
Vardy dele alli robertson are the exception to the rule, not the rule. Shankland is not and never will be of the required standard. 👍.

29.) 03 Jun 2019 15:30:13
How do you know that Coldo? Unless you have a sixth sense You know Jack sh** mate
The boy may have needed a good run of games and goals to bring up his confidence!

30.) 03 Jun 2019 16:13:31
FruitBear, low risk, low wages = low talent.

31.) 03 Jun 2019 16:16:48
Why oh why do so many of our fans set their ambitions for the club so low? Some of the players we've been screaming for over the past two years are absolutely laughable and so is this one.

32.) 03 Jun 2019 17:26:03
Kazmania, we are not a club that can give an unproven striker a 'run of games' to try to get up to some sort of scratch. I have seen this guy and he's absolutely not a potential Rangers player, believe me.

33.) 03 Jun 2019 17:39:04
Low risk and if nothing else be a decent squad player and cheap. Look what we have been paying Lafferty to sit on the bench.
If he does well then that’s a bonus.

34.) 03 Jun 2019 18:18:58
Kaz last summer you told me that windass was a £15mil player, if anyone knows jack $h1t its you. I don't need a sixth sense to know shankland is not what rangers need. 👍.

35.) 03 Jun 2019 18:24:15
daisy tore who is talking about a run of games I'm saying thr run of games he's had at Ayr and scored he did This is probably what he needed to build his own confidence! I'm not saying he will be first choice either but definitely a great player to have in the Squad he is free and will be on low wages It would be madness not give let him pass At least try him!

Yes we will aim higher but he is a proven striker at Championship level and with the right guidance and support this boy WILL score between 15-20 goals in the SPL.

36.) 03 Jun 2019 18:26:36
Paul86, coldo and everyone else who's slating the possibility of him playing for us. I don't get aw this "hes been at bigger clubs" pish. What's that got to do with right here right now. maybe he was pish as a boy but just now he's a cheap as chips 24 year old goal machine, who might succeed and might not, but will cost nothing. And don't say "if Lafferty cannot get a game how will he? Again who knows how good he'll be plus he's gonnae be on several grand a week cheaper, like a lot cheaper so there's that. What if Stevie "Jürgen klopp" Gerard turns this boy into the next Ronaldo? (Fat Ronaldo I mean) . Obvs i'm exaggerating but the point is you, we, I have no clue Nd be a cheap punt, to go along with our marquee signings. How can anybody slate him after Mexican goal machine Herrera signed. Have we not learned some players don't fit or really fit some clubs. Let's wait and see shall we.

37.) 03 Jun 2019 18:39:28
You're right you are exaggerating👍.

38.) 03 Jun 2019 18:48:35
Correct easy tiger 100% they don’t know if he is good enough but are very quick to judge.
Guys like coldo are clueless and just like to slate everyone else’s opinion on here.

We may sign the boy we may not he may score a battle load he may not you just don’t know it’s that simple.

39.) 03 Jun 2019 19:36:14
Gannet was it not you that came on here and said milner and henderson were not very good🤔👍.

40.) 03 Jun 2019 20:23:42
Haha coldo that's the smartest thing I've ever heard u say 😂.

41.) 03 Jun 2019 20:47:39
I could believe that easytiger it was only 5 words, anymore than that and we tend to lose you🙃👍.

42.) 03 Jun 2019 20:52:43
Most gers fans are just worried about smell. tic 10 in a row
Thats why they don't want to take a chance with shankland

Forget them forget there 8 forget there mr tumble they just done

I don't give and never will give 2 hoots what dmell. tic ever do or ever do

Gers sign shanklsnd or anyone else they will be welcomed and they will mo how much it is and was an honour an privilage to wear the royal blue of the GLASGOW RANGERS.

43.) 03 Jun 2019 21:44:19
Coldo I said they ain’t outstanding players and if Liverpool had better they would have won the league as well as the champions league but hey ho and also that is irrelevant I love how you think you know everything about football.
You are a complete and utter clown that knows nothing about football.

44.) 03 Jun 2019 22:02:13
Coldo just thinks he's right all the time I'm no sure I ever did say Windass was worth 15m I checked my posts from. last year and I said I'd be happy if Rangers were to get around 5m for Windass

45.) 03 Jun 2019 22:53:03
You said it alright kaz, because I said that I would eat my own sh1t£ if windass went anywhere including on holiday for 15mil. 😂👍

No Gannet you said you have never rated them, I guess that does make me the clown because you clearly have an eye for a player😂👍

Anyway lads if you look back the thread you'll find that both of you's started with the slagging comments like "knows jack sh1t" and "clueless" because I have a different opinion regarding shankland. I take it your mentality is to go on the attack when you are not educated enough to debate. We have a NI international who can't cut it upfront for us and you's want an ayr utd striker who is playing well in the scottish championship (piss poor level) and who couldn't make it in a poor aberdeen team to come in and push our title challenge😲. C'mon lads play the game. We have got rid of players better than shankland. Waghorn cummings etc👍.

46.) 04 Jun 2019 10:32:43
Yippee. The next Nicky Clark. Just because Ian McColl is bigging the guy up, don't mean zip. The level he's playing at is dreadful and not many players can make that big a jump in ability unfortunately.

47.) 04 Jun 2019 18:32:26
Blue Pete, your wives a hard wummin.

48.) 05 Jun 2019 13:24:20
ive said it before - and i obviously need to say it again!
Shankland has signed a precontract with swansea.
so no need to be worrying about him - i thought he would have been worth a punt though.

49.) 06 Jun 2019 00:43:07
Shankland is a proven goalscorer and for free? he is worth the risk Rangers can't go out and spend millions of players.

Sturridge is not good enough for Rangers lol. there's only one thing more idiotic than thinking he will sign and that's thinking he isn't good enough. Come on, that can't be serious?

C-of-Ibrox

1.) 02 Jul 2019 21:06:16
lol c of ibrox couldn't agree more aparantly not good enough because he can't get a game for the champions of europe.

2.) 02 Jul 2019 22:08:10
Obviously he's good enough and obviously he's never in a million years coming up here. Even if bu some miracle he did sign it would be a disaster due to him being made of glass and the SPL full of hatchet men.

02 Jul 2019 07:40:12
I know his name might spark a mixed response but Dean Windass spoke very well about our club on the Si Ferry Open Goal pod. I think some of our fans need to lay off him a bit. Anyway, something he said got me thinking. He was talking about the Rangers V Aberdeen game in the 8 in a row season when Gascoinge ran amok. He said when we were really struggling and he heard Richard Gough say to Gazza "Come on Gazza, turn this around for us". Then went on to describe how Gazza tore them a new Rsole and described his goals. I think we still lack that bit of class. Someone who can turn a game like that. We need that inspiration surrounded by graft!

C-of-Ibrox

1.) 02 Jul 2019 12:03:53
Getting a player like gazza in his prime was a work of genious from Walter Smith.

2.) 03 Jul 2019 01:07:03
Very few players nowadays can win games in their own, unfortunately they don’t make Gazza’s very often!

01 Jul 2019 20:54:33
Not saying its going to happen but Sturridge, Defoe and Morelos. I think that would finally tip the scales in our favour. If we got kent back and landed Sturridge the Tims would have kittens. Even the most hardend Tim couldn't deny that we would be a serious threat. Please make this happen Sir Steve of Ibroxshire!

C-of-Ibrox

1.) 02 Jul 2019 06:00:19
I honestly think we do need another experienced centre half j1985.I've noticed there's a lot of very good, free agent centre halfs out there. From a personal view, i would love stevie G to try and sign cahill or subotic. Not for a second would i suggest we would be able to get any of the 2,but at least ask the question. You don't get if you don't ask.

27 Jun 2019 12:05:17
Aribo confirmed at long last lol
Welcome son!

C-of-Ibrox

1.) 27 Jun 2019 12:17:44
Great news, hopefully a good few out the door then push for some more fresh faces, we’re definitely light at CH and I think we could be doing with a big target man also.

2.) 27 Jun 2019 12:28:20
Agreed mate. Shaping up nicely so it is!

3.) 27 Jun 2019 12:54:12
Great news, I think aribo will be a hidden gem just like kamara. Can't wait for the season to get going.

4.) 27 Jun 2019 13:04:00
I think it will be a cracker mate. We need Ibrox rocking at every single game this year. This is the one!

21 Jun 2019 20:20:35
George Edmundson (going by his youtube clips) is arguably the best centre half of a generation!

C-of-Ibrox

1.) 21 Jun 2019 20:24:04
Totally agree c, the scouts and mark allen will be redundant once this youtube scouting system takes off.

2.) 21 Jun 2019 20:31:23
Let's see how many of them respond bud .

3.) 21 Jun 2019 20:34:54
Definitely .

4.) 21 Jun 2019 20:46:32
Was really chuffed to see on his twitter account his only ever tweet, signing for "the Famous Glasgow Rangers" and a pic with his mum, dad and sister in the trophy room. Weve still got it no matter what the rest say.

5.) 21 Jun 2019 20:55:58
Pmsl. sometimes you say things to wind up tims and end up arguing with your buddys on here lol.

6.) 21 Jun 2019 22:00:47
