As I said yesterday, Rangers will hold talks with Steven Gerrard in London and these talks will be concluded by the weekend when we can expect Steven Gerrard to be confirmed as our new manager. This will split our supporters who do and don't want him back.
I will welcome him back and support him I think he will unite the squad again and get them playing with pride and passion. We have good players who under Martin lost all confidence. This will return and players will play without having to keep looking over to the bench to get permission to try things.
The league might be gone already, but if we can string results together there is hope. Everything is not rosy at Parkhead and I think Hearts have started well, but they will fall away as season goes on. If it is as I expect Gerrard as new manager, everyone needs to get behind him and the team.

Hopefully know manager splits the fans, any manager needs backed and patience showed, will it happen is another story.

Gerrard has the respect of players and players play for him because he's done it as a player, players run through brick walls for him.

League gone in October? Behave yourself.

I genuinely will be over the moon to get Stevie G. back . After the debacle and outright failure of Russel Martin, I think we need someone who knows the club, who knows the expectations and welcomes the challenge . Someone who understands the fans. Upholds standards and demands respect.
Stevie G. ticks all the boxes for me . I would also be happy with McInnes or Muscat for the above reasons. Rohl, rose and the others mentioned would just be more of the same as Russell Martin, I suspect.
Get Stevie g signed and watch him drag our team up, our respect back up and the club as a whole. Genuinely hope it's Steven Gerrard.

If Gerrard is announced, Ibrox will be rocking come the United game, I think he is a safe bet and we can hopefully get some confidence back in the team and support and start moving forward, take it one game at a time and we see where it takes us.

KNGS correct, especially with the state of them.
08 Oct 2025 14:44:04
Did you not read my post? I said it might be gone. I didn't say it was gone already. I firmly believe if we can get these players playing together and playing well then we could still win the league because Celtic are in a bit of a mess as well, but the difference is they got the result at the weekend, we didn't. And hearts will inevitably fall away.
08 Oct 2025 14:48:22
Cooper also think its a safe bet by the club. Will command stability and respect.

There is still 12 points up for grabs between Celtic and Hearts. 9 points up for grabs between us and both those teams. I'm giving absolutely nothing up.
I'm 49 I've been going to Ibrox since 1981/ 2 I've never known Rangers fans to give anything up with all those points still up for grabs! We're in October.

Not being funny guys, I think some of this team will need to Google SG to find out his playing career.
It's a big job, if he gets it, good luck to the man.
08 Oct 2025 15:18:05
Aye it'll split the support alright - about 90/10 split haha.
Most are going to be reasonably pleased at worst with Gerrard back.
The time for projects and major gambles isn't straight off the back of what we have just endured.
08 Oct 2025 15:18:11
Gerrard isn't a miracle worker we've been landed with imho too many of our signings are simply not good enough and until the squad is strengthend we will not mount a credible challenge. Genuinely only gassma, Cornelius, meghoma Antman, miovsky will be successful although rothwell could be 1 who Gerrard improves. Hope i'm wrong.

The 49ers didn't search very far or wide, I understand previous to R. Martin appointment the board were doing there due diligence and had a few names so I take it they've not bothered this time.
I also understand the appointment is time sensitive so hope they have the correct candidate this time.

Doesn't sound like there is any need to have talks if we know they'll be concluded.
What do you actually know mate and what are you guessing or picking up from another site?
08 Oct 2025 15:54:33
Not going to lie . don't want Gerrard back. His managerial record has been worse since he left us! Still find it tough to forget the way he left also! He knows the club however, and many other managers may not get just how big a job/ task it is?

Gerrard might have split the support in the summer, but I think majority would now welcome him back with open arms.
08 Oct 2025 16:31:31
One Walter, those players you name are a not bad return for tge players bought, not all going to be a success. Interesting to see a couple of the others under a different regime and also Curtis brought more into team.

Let's face it lads we would be happy way just about anyone after martin although do like Muscat for the job plays an attacking brand of football that would work well in Scotland but not sure how it would work in Europe hence why I think the board will go with Gerrard.
08 Oct 2025 16:48:49
I don't know if this is true am just saying but i heard that before they appointed Martin, the job was Gerrard's but due to a tax issue in Saudi he couldn't take the job but that has now passed. To be honest, i don't care who we get in its not going to be as bad as Martin's dull play!
08 Oct 2025 17:43:54
I think the majority of fans want Gerrard.
