John, I know you are not to endeared by him but I truly believe he is a fantastic coach and would be successful.

It won't be rohl. The owners won't be letting lie liewell a free reign on this one. Gerrard is a name that will ignite fan excitement again and the players will get a boost. Rohl is a meh appointment. We need someone who knows the club gets what it is about and plays an attacking brand. Stevie g ticks all them boxes.

Thelwell wants a coach so he can keep his job, gerrard wants a say on which players get signed which then makes thelwell surplus to requirements. After the who Russell Martin debacle and add to that signing Chermiti for £10m and him handing his son a job he should be gone.

The thought of Rohl gives me the fear as he just strikes me as another experimental unproven coach and a rinse and repeat of Martin. Thelwell should be no where near this decision.

Get them both in. Gerrard is a great leader but admits he needs good coaches round him. I think Rohl could be a great manager in the future but I think he would struggle at Rangers as a no1 with the expectations and where we are currently.
Starts as a 2 then takes over?
Also he will get an underwhelming reception if appointed on his own.

Rohl could be a great manager we don't know but what we do know about Gerrard is he commands respect when he walks in a room, he can handle the pressure (proven ) he's been there as a player at the highest level and won a league with us, also deals with the press with ease, get the right coaches in and for me it's the safest option we have, safe isn't always best but this current time the mix of safe and right men in could be exactly what we need to get back on track.

Was Simon Jordan not saying something on Talksport today about the chat within the football people down south that Thelwel was crap.
How have we ended up with this guy.
The fact he has spent £24m odd at Everton and Rangers for a striker that never scores is crazy.
He also said Russell Martin was the best coach he's ever worked with.
I haven't seen anything that suggests Thelwel is any good.
This guy can't be trusted to make big decisions for the club.

John I have never treated Rangers as a project.
Danny Rohl has had more managerial experience than Gerrard did prior to being appointed Rangers manager first time round.
He is a very talented coach who I really believe could be a success.
I may be wrong but as everyone keeps saying every manager is a risk.
The question you asked could be said of any out of work manager.

Rohl is a huge risk we cannot take after Martin.
It can only be McInnes, Muscat or Gerrard for me in that order.
Thelwell should have no say in it given his record so far in fact I'd remove him and replace him with Davie Weir if I could.
I think it will be Gerrard and I'll get behind him and hope he gets this squad organised and running harder.

Reading thriigh this it is ibvious that no-one knows what's gping on and everyone is speculating. SG, Rohl Muscat everyone will find out when the choice is made.
