From what I've been told. Nobody important, not directly to me that is. That SG has stated he wants back in! Give him backing and he's all in.
The board have decide RM is finished. There is no repair possible.
Bringing SG in is a move the 49ers want and have looked at him before owning us.
I know there is a lot a crap out there.
I also know many don't want SG. I do! Plus anything is better than RM, who should never have been interviewed in the first instance.
03 Oct 2025 20:32:26
Football insider posted that today. They are notorious bullters.
Not saying that's where you got your info from but whoever told you might have read it from there.
03 Oct 2025 20:33:06
Grog read the above in today's paper.
03 Oct 2025 20:36:55
Which is why they'll stick with him! To punt him now would such a bad reflection on those who appointed him …. I don't see Thelwell and Stewart getting rid before that forced to by the Yanks .
03 Oct 2025 20:39:04
Of tge 49s have decided they want Sg and RM is finished why are they hanging about or is SG the only candidate to replace msrtin. At this stage i'd take SG back.
03 Oct 2025 20:47:41
Gdawg a hope n pray that info is bang on. Would love gerrard back! We were a solid well oiled unit under him. Would bring the thunder back. Somethings got to happen n quick whilst the clan are on the ropes.
03 Oct 2025 20:59:32
Really wouldn't like to see Gerard back.
03 Oct 2025 21:09:27
A huge yes from me!
03 Oct 2025 21:19:25
EHL WHY?
03 Oct 2025 21:32:02
At this rate, we are going to need sam allardyce till the end of the season.
03 Oct 2025 21:33:51
Bazzaboi, I was never his biggest fan first time round and think there are better options available.
03 Oct 2025 21:49:17
Ill always remember the st mirren game in the league cup when we got beat in injury time from a corner . one of SG's bad games that meant so much at the time.
03 Oct 2025 21:54:00
EHL thanks for the reply
Thats fair enough
Who would your choice be?
03 Oct 2025 22:35:28
Bazza, first choice would be Roger Schmidt.
03 Oct 2025 22:38:37
More rubbish talk. RM isn't going anywhere. He will be given time. If he was gping to be sacked he'd be away already, and if he had any integrity he'd walk. Neither of those have happened so he's here for the lkng run.
03 Oct 2025 22:52:16
Wouldnt touch him tbh!
03 Oct 2025 22:58:59
I'd only take Gerrard if Beale was assistant.
04 Oct 2025 00:08:39
I agree with EHL. I'm thankful SG won us 55, and I loved him as our manager then, but he had a lot of cons before he left. Winning 1 trophy out of 9 is one thing, but in terms of his style, eventually he was found out. Played really narrow in the forward areas and relied on both full backs for the width. Became stubborn with his formation and wouldn't adapt. The season after 55, we struggled although being top at the time. Celtic were extremely poor at this point under Ange, and we were beaten 1-0 away to Dundee Utd, and dropped points at home to Motherwell, and Hearts and Aberdeen (they were 2-0 up in first half) . We also just got passed Alashkert in Europa League qualifiers (1-0) after being embarrassed by 10 man Malmo at Ibrox and knocked out of the CL losing 2-1 home and away. The match after he left, Hibs p*moved us 3-1 at Hampden and knocked us out of the league cup. Thankfully GVB saved our season with the Europa league run, but we were on a downward spiral at that moment under SG. He wasn't backed, which I accept, but he didn't adapt and in the end, the silly points dropped before he left, was detrimental to our finishing position. Allowing Celtic to gain momentum and not lose another game after their first 6 league matches.
Unfortunately for people supporting SG, these are facts, and this is why I don't want him now. I'm thankful for the 55 season, and the effort and commitment he showed us, but that's it.
Muscat all the way. He's a proper winner (look him up before judging) .

Gerrard back I'd take in a heartbeat. I know it splits opinion and folk point to 1 trophy in 9, but even when we didn't win trophies under Gerrard, he still ticked a lot of boxes. He understood the pressure of Glasgow, he always spoke well and didn't sugarcoat stuff. He understood the need for Scottish players who could fight and show a level of passion and he was also a big draw for signing players. He has an aura about him. He respected the tradition and standards of which our clubs fans often demand. A lot said about managers or players who come up here from down south's fb think it's a walk in the park, he never did that.
Gerrard left us well on top because we didn't have the finance to move forward. If we had the owners we have now and the financial security they will bring then I have no doubt Gerrard would have kicked on and won more.
04 Oct 2025 06:29:05
I wouldn't turn my nose up at steven gerrard, if he were to come back as our manager ? However although kevin muscat has always been my preferred choice, i agree with EHL that roger schmidt would be a superb appointment and would tick all boxes for me ??.
04 Oct 2025 07:43:51
Please do not think that SG would be a saviour? -BIG NO FOR ME THANKS?.
04 Oct 2025 08:26:20
Martin has to go.
Gerrard isn't the answer this time around.
04 Oct 2025 09:22:47
Would take peppa pig the now to get rid off Martin the now lol all kidding aside we need a football manager not a wannabe with a stupid smug face arrogant n blames everyone bar himself.
04 Oct 2025 09:28:48
Gerrard one of main reasons for high wages at Rangers before give players wage ruse at slightest bit of form
Funny never goes the other way then we struggle to sell because of wages.
04 Oct 2025 09:37:34
I am with ehl on this one let's not go back to a failure.
04 Oct 2025 09:44:20
Good post Chasni. No manager is a guarantee but Muscat first and then Schmit. A least we know they have a track record.
04 Oct 2025 10:09:22
Would it be Gerrard and Beal then?
04 Oct 2025 10:52:02
G-dog at this point I would take graham murty over Russel Martin
Anybody who thinks Martin will turn it round dsnt know football or is clearly watching another team
Same lame excuses his past 4 teams everybody else's fault
Their mentality
Naw it's ?percent him
His set up
His crappy tactics
His ego
He has no care for Rangers
Guys a fool n that's the truth
Longer he's here the more damage he brings
He's an embarrassment to Rangers n all we stand for
We are now a laughing stock n feared by no one
God Falkirk think they can take points from us
How the mighty have fallen
It's shocking
Simply not good enough.
04 Oct 2025 11:12:34
Great post fruitbear. Very well put ?.
04 Oct 2025 11:50:16
Bonesbear - like you, I don't think they'll sack him and are determined to give him time, but for the life of me, can't work out why. There's no signs of progression anywhere and if truth be told, we're regressing all over the park with the exception of Butland.
04 Oct 2025 13:04:50
Deecee, you'll always remember a league cup tie we lost at St Mirren? Do you remember the games that won us the title or some of the great nights in European matches . Gerrards team would have battered Genk at Ibrox and beat Graz away.
I would be happy to have him back, or even Big Phil if he's not working yet, with a bit of backing both would have us competing for the league.
04 Oct 2025 13:37:07
Strom!
WE ARE A CONSTANT FAILURE!
Your post makes no sense to me. Sorry.
He is the only manager to bring a title. And the changes he had to make to get there were bigger than any other managers changes since he left.
It's been one car crash to another since he left and also why he left, affecting his time before going.
The board then screwed him!
I'm happy to look at someone else BUT NO MORE PROJECTS! Rohl? No chance for me. It's another mess waiting to unravel.
Martin has been the biggest mistake in our history and that's saying something!
