Unfortunately as i've stated many times on here, i think our owners will stick with russell martin as our head coach for at least until Christmas imo, although i hope to god i'm wrong ?To the guys in the know and give us their very good, mostly reliable info on here, guys like EHL, John, Asa, Coplandfront5 and LundstrumLoyal etc i'll ask you this guys ie.
do you think Russell Martin will remain Rangers head coach until at least Christmas, or do you think we'll have a new manager/ head coach by then ? That's to everyone else on the site also ?I don't regard this as a stupid question, as i don't see martin being able to go on a half decent winning run but i do still think that our owners will give him a good bit more time ?.

How long is a piece of string, we won't know till we're told either way.

01 Oct 2025 09:55:09
I dread to think the mess we're going to be in at Christmas if Martin is still in charge.

01 Oct 2025 10:08:23
Unfortunately sws I agree with you I think he would have been out the door by now if they had plans to sack him, think owners are trying to prove a point that they won't be pressured by fans.

01 Oct 2025 10:09:54
I think he will be away by Xmas mate well I hope he is for the sake of every fans mental health as they guy is a complete and utter joke of a head coach.

01 Oct 2025 10:11:49
In my opinion it's a matter of when not if that hel get replaced the longer they leave it the more damage they will do.

01 Oct 2025 10:46:01
SWS, I honestly believe the club have decided that we need to move on and are in the process of recruiting a new Head Coach.

01 Oct 2025 10:52:09
I'm hoping the 49rs are looking for a new manager right now. Everyone can see Martin is totally out his depth . He was brought in to improve Rangers, instead he's doing the exact opposite. Come on 49rs - do the right thing .

01 Oct 2025 10:58:53
If the club are in the process of appointing a new manager, here's hoping they make a better job of it second time around.

01 Oct 2025 11:03:30
I agree EHL. Our new owners know Martin is done, and i just can't see them doing nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if Martin already knows he's a goner, but he remains in his position, as part of an already agreed compensation package. As soon as we have a replacement, he'll be gone. That's my hope, anyway.

01 Oct 2025 11:18:11
That's what it feels like to me Sunshine - but it may just be wishful thinking.

01 Oct 2025 11:53:19
Hope your correct EHL/ SS

Ps nice to see you back SS hope all well mate.

01 Oct 2025 12:08:19
Got to agree, the clock is ticking on Martins exit, the process of recruiting the new manager will be active, if not already completed.

01 Oct 2025 12:32:18
We will be working in the background to replace him, I've never been more sure. This stuff about proving to the fans they won't fold under pressure may be true, but they aren't daft that's for sure.

01 Oct 2025 12:33:44
EHL - I hope you're correct. Are you hearing something to suggest this may be the case?

Fan discontent and ill feeling towards Martin is irreparable, surely even the owners now know this.

It really would be total negligence if work wasn't being done in the background for potential replacements. Perhaps the club are leaving Martin in position until a replacement is agreed upon rather than going through the hassle of putting temporary management in place and disrupting players schedule, routine and training given we have 2 games in 4 days before an international break.

01 Oct 2025 12:36:05
I don't think he'll be long in the job, guys. Just can't see him ever getting a tune out of the squad.

01 Oct 2025 12:37:47
I think if it was going to happen soon it would have already. Unfortunately I have a terrible feeling he'll be back until Xmaz at least.

01 Oct 2025 12:40:23
When Martin goes the focus should then be on Thelwell and Stewart. They should not be getting off lightly as just as much to blame.

01 Oct 2025 12:44:45
Fork - twice half its length.

01 Oct 2025 12:54:33
?MVG?.

01 Oct 2025 13:18:08
Can't see the point keeping the man, the next disaster is just round the corner and we all know it, a change now would give us a slim chance of competing for title and waiting till we drop a further 3 points behind is just suicidal, not to mention the cash we are losing every game at ibrox and euro point money, honestly think we have players to compete and some being written off would produce under the right coach, we should of been riding a wave of optimism after take over but are living a nightmare.

01 Oct 2025 13:28:47
See if we do change manager I'm still not sure our squad is good enough think some off our signings are poor.

01 Oct 2025 13:41:34
I read a report their in which glen johnston says if / when russell martin is sacked both steven gerrard and frank lampard wouldn't take the Rangers manager's job ?.

01 Oct 2025 13:43:58
EHL, i know you're always saying about Danny Röhl, so do you think Danny Röhl will replace Russell Martin as the new Rangers head coach before Christmas mate ? I honestly think eventually Sean Dyche will be our new manager/ head coach ?.

01 Oct 2025 14:03:37
I hope this isn't true about Martin needing extra security. No one should have to contend with that when doing a job.

If I'm being super cynical, could it be the emergence of a narrative that allows Martin to resign due to fears over personal safety, thereby tarnishing the club and the reputation of its fans, and somewhat preserving his professional reputation?

01 Oct 2025 14:50:33
TrueBlue, I'm just basing it on the visible discontent with the fans and what I know about the strained relationships between Martin and the players and staff.

Think it would be madness to think he can navigate a route through this.

01 Oct 2025 14:51:03
SWS - I would love it if he did.

01 Oct 2025 15:12:46
Thanks Bunnet.

01 Oct 2025 15:59:46
His professional reputation is tarnished by his own failures/ actions. and yes i would think if you have the majority of 50K wanting you out it only takes one loon tune to do something stupid. it would be prudent to have extra security around him, not doing so could be seen as failure on care of duty.

01 Oct 2025 16:04:47
Fair enough EHL, but that would be replacing an inexperienced manager with another as the Rangers job could swallow danny rohl up mate ?.

01 Oct 2025 16:22:27
Thelwell now appears an even bigger problem.

01 Oct 2025 16:24:00
We have had experienced managers and that didn't work either coops there is no right or wrong answer. Don't understand people say need to be experienced gio clement were didn't work.

SG wasn't and some think he was successful so I don't get that point.
